Listen Up! by Haley Reinhart: Review

Last year on Idol, a girl captured my heart and now that her debut album is already out why don't we all Listen Up! to Haley Reinhart?

Firstly, critiques say that Listen Up! is one of the best debut of 2012 and one of the best debut from an Idol alum. Can't agree more. It's really one of the best. A throwback to old soul and Motown, to 60's and retro-influenced pop and R&B. A pop record that's unique and produced with real creative directions. An album graced with the vocal prowess of a pin-up diva. A set of boomy, gutsy and dance-oriented tunes fitted for Haley's well rounded style. In the present day, think of The Lady Killer by Cee-Lo, Listen Up!'s the female version. An old school album that no one on Idol have ever done.

So let me throw in some names that I may incorporate to this record: Dusty Springfield. Nancy Sinatra. Amy Winehouse. Adele. Duffy. Janelle Monae. That's as far as I am certain with artists I know. A quote from Barry Walters from Spin Magazine, "Thank Adele for an Idol album with depth. Thank Winehouse for dusty soul. Thank Reinhart for the pipes.". Haley really did a great job being influenced with these bluesy artists and incorporating them all into this one pumped-up retro-styled album.

The deluxe version has 14 tracks. Written and produced by well-known artists in the business like busbee, Mike Elizondo, Rob Kleiner, MoZella, and others. These 14 songs are incredibly well thought out though some are overproduced in my opinion. Starting from an sassy ear-grubber tune featuring B.o.B then ends with a reggae-infused love song. After listening to this, you'll say "The gods have really come." and you'll play it over and over again. Here's a track by track review.

1. Oh My! (feat. B.o.B)

Possibly one of Haley's best to come out. I heard she's going to release this very Janelle Monae track with a touch of Nancy Sinatra this summer. With a rap-part from B.o.B, this song is very catchy and convincing with the echoing and back-up vocals. Listening to this, you know you're going on a different ride.

2. Free

The debut single that I thought wasn't believably viable. But after a little bit more of listening to this bouncy, piano-worked tune, you know Haley's more than a great engineer. Delivered with sultry vocal runs and feisty lyrics, the song relates to many hearts that wants to be free.

3. Liar

This is the part where you think Adele and Amy Winehouse have become one. Funky yet deep. With growling wonders by The Growler herself.

4. Wasted Tears

This one is Motown, baby! There's no way you won't get up to your feet and dance it all away with this pumping groovy track.

5. Undone

A heartbreak ballad with a big chorus. Heartfelt grits from beginning to end. Haley really did belt out this song, crystal clear subtle notes to throaty booming growls.

6. Now That You're Here

Personally, this track for me is a revelation for the whole album. A real throwback to 70's disco. There's no way you can't dance to this. Genuine pop and R&B groovy tune with back-up vocals that feels very authentic to it's time travel prowess. Think Runaway Baby by Bruno Mars.

7. Wonderland

Everyone says that Haley should have lived in a different time and this is the track that translated to that. A Motown feel with convincing musicality and backup singers. Swoony and stylized for chorus full of sugary tambourine stomp.

8. Keep Coming Back

An Adele influenced track but a lot more feisty. A reminiscent of Adele from the piano works to the the beat of the bass drum. Heavy yet she still delivered with her sassy style

9. Hit The Ground Runnin'

With an Adele styled coda and the feel of the Supremes with a touch of Amy and Duffy, this one's hit for me. Combination of Haley's sass and groove for the entire song. One that stays to your ears because it's almost like it's the combination of all the eight preceding tracks.

10. Walking on Heaven

Definitely one of the best of the album. Sublime chorus and breathed with Haley's angelic side. This song made me think I can walk with someone on heaven.

Deluxe Version additions

11. Follow Me (I'm Right Behind You)

I'm not sure if it's really styled as a slightly heavy country tune with cool guitar riffs. The only thing I didn't get from this track is the synthesizers and artificiality of the chorus.Until other Haley fan pointed out to me that this one is psychedelic rock, very Beatles 1966. Lest, it's a very well written song for the genre.

12. Spiderweb

A ballad that starts with a great piano rundown then enters a chorus with a soft rock sound. Jazzy and funky Haley sound with a slight mystery in parts.

13. What You Don't Know

A special track that bounces back to 70's disco feel with a synthesized transition to it's chorus with a stomping rhythm from the start. This is another one that we'll surely get you up on your feet. Purely energized with Haley's vocals.

14. Let's Run Away

This last treasure is definitely a diamond, it's a feel good song yet as special as the other. For me, reggae styled songs have this amazing feel good to it. I can't be wrong that this one's reggae, it reminds me of Bob Marley and Jason Mraz for some reasons. Who'd have thought Haley can do this?

I'm not over-rating this review. I really loves this album. I got a handful of favorites: Oh My, Now That You're Here, Wonderland, Hit The Ground Runnin', Walking on Heaven.

You totally need to hear this album as the title implies and Haley says, Listen Up!

Exceptional: The Hunger Games Review

Almost two weeks ago, I watched my so-called movie of the year, The Hunger Games. Truth be told, this is the only film I'm planning to watch this year and so it already happened. Haha!

After reading the trilogy last year, I got really giddy to see the start of the installment. If you've been reading this blog, you could see my blogposts about the trailer. Sharing my own thoughts about teasers and sneak peeks. I can say that the promotionals of the film didn't make me jump up and down. I guess I just lowered my expectations about the film. For some reasons, that's the only thing you can think about when Hollywood do this kind of stuff.

Moving on, going to the theater with full knowledge of the plot and relevant knowing that it got really high ratings in Rotten Tomatoes, I still didn't expect anything beyond greatness. Because as Hollywood admits it, a reader's imagination is always better than a movie.

But surprise surprise, I found myself clapping and smiling and almost tearing up while watching it. It was exceptional. Gary Ross. Jennifer Lawrence. The cast. The stunts. The effects. I'm pretty much stoked with what I've seen.

I have to specifically give credit to the writing and also the addition of the Game Room which I merely thought of when reading the book. It was so so good. It's like Big Brother or something. I cannot eleborate on that, you have to see it for yourself.

Another thing was Jennifer Lawrence. She kicked some ass and I won't even be surprised if she'll have her 2nd Academy nod this year for her portrayal of the heroine, Katniss Everdeen. She's way beyond her years. I love her.

Plus the wardrobe effects of Katniss' dresses. I didn't expect it to be that way. I'm impressed though some things and accessories weren't there. So I guess I'll be expecting something to blow me away for her great white dress next year. Haha!

As a whole, the movie spoke about a lot of relevant things just like the book. Family. Love. Romance. Television. Politics. And that's what we call justice, Gary Ross.

However, all readers, I suppose, have noticed the pacing of the film. I can say that everything in the film happened really fast. I don't know if the book is really long. I guess we can't complain about that. The movie is still helluva great film. If you still haven't seen it then go to the nearest theater and watch it!

As for my first ever film review, The Hunger Games, 4 out of 5 stars. Haha! I can't help it. Watch out for the 75th Hunger Games, the Quarter Quell. May the odds be ever in your favor!

Sex Position: The Butterfly

Let's not take the title too far. I'm not good with innuendos after all. I literally just saw two butterflies having sex.

Last week, our university celebrated it's 9th Foundation Anniversary and on it's third day, Wednesday, we had our second mock defense for our thesis. Whilst it's time for celebration we were there, cracking some nuts, preparing without any assurance of a positive feedback. Also, may I add, that day was one of the hottest day of my life.

Good thing though, I brought my sister's camera. It's a Nikon D3100 and it helped me kill my stubbornness for the entire day. Let's start with the butterflies.

We often wonder how people have sex or how they initiate stuff like that and all. We're all curious about things, I know. So seeing this butterflies made me wonder more about human sex. 'Cause truth be told, I'm a virgin, baby! haha

Another insect my friends saw that day was this higad/chimuchang. That higad is one big higad!. In connection to this, I searched for the english term for higad and the internet said 'hairy caterpillar'. Anyboody who can help me with that?

That's it. My one day of waiting. That day ended up pretty much with a mixed reviews. Haha. But still, it was a fun day being with your camera. I just need more practicing and all, and we'll get there.

To end this one, let's just say that sometimes troubles and problems are like the amazing butterfly sex position. One's tail end is connected to the other with no other option of the positioning or how they do it. They just do it until it ends. Maybe in the end it's painful or feels great. Whatever.

Surprises

This morning, I received a package delivered by my best-friend. It was heavy. And then I looked for the name of the sender and it's from you. What am I supposed to do? How am I supposed to react? Am I being Punk'd?

I seriously had no idea I am about to receive something really special today. It's like someone hitting you without you knowing it. It's a disturbing feeling when you are clueless about something you should have seen coming. Anyway, continuing with the story, when my best friend handed it to me, I shook it. I don't know why but that's what I usually do with presents. But the hilarious thing when I had it in my hand, within the first 5 seconds, I knew it's a book but I don't know why Murakami's 1Q84 entered my mind in a bliss. Which leads us to the second part.

I put the present inside my bag for some weird reasons. Maybe because that's the only thing my overwhelmed instincts want to do. I smiled along the way, thinking about how surreal it feels receiving something from you early in the morning. I was all giddy to open it so when I arrived at the school, I unwrapped it. Then I found this...

I was sweaty with excitement and my mouth kept open for seconds because I was right, it's 1Q84. Haven't read a Murakami before but I know some of his stuff like 'What I Talk About When I talk About Running' and 'Norwegian Wood'. Anyway Babe, do you have any idea how you made me feel? No, you don't. Because I, myself, had no idea what was happening to me unwrapping your present. After the shock, I realized something is in between some pages, I tried to pull it but I decided to wait until I get home to read it.

Here's the part when I went home, sweaty with excitement. I took a photo of it first, with the ribbon and all that and then turned to the page where you put your letter. I read it, bit by bit. It was dated last Valentine's day and how could you not tell me any hint about this surprise? All you said was 'Basta'. Also, another surprise along with the book is a dog tag. It has your initials, HSF.

My happiness right now is beyond any words I had come up with. Knowing me enough, I you know how ridiculous I go when we do crazy things and this is one of them .

Bottom line is you got me, I don't know what else really happened today. All I know is that you got me all pumped-up all through the day to talk to you about this. I know how much the book costs, I always visit the bookstores, and it's expensive! Babe, I can't believe the things you're doing right now.

No matter how you want to avoid surprises, you just can't because of people who's always there to surprise you. To mess with your normalcy of the day and the cycle of your stomach. With you, babe, I think I'm gonna have to be ready everyday. I love you, always and forever.

Here we go again. Blog update: PAOLODOME turned two last January!

If you've been reading my blog since the start, I think you know the highs and lows of how I managed this blog. I've been to a lot during the past two years and I can classify four ages within those two years and what I learned from all of them.

The Noob Age - The humble beginnings of this blog when I have the silly ideas of becoming the next famous blogger. When I didn't have any idea that I need to read others' blog before I have my own readers.
What I learned? Read others first! Visitors won't come if you won't come out.
The Kiss-ass Age - This was a very remarkable period when I had lots of new acquaintances in the blogosphere. I visited and campaigned to all the possible voters I could have just to be part of the EIB 2010. Hahaha. The experience just burns me to embarassment.
What I learned? The blogosphere is extremely big so be friendly! lol
The Link-Baiting Age - This particular part is the real embarassment. I admit, I've done lots of hideous things on the internet but this is definitely one on the top of the list. I was such a horrible kid just to get visitors. lol. What I learned? Huge help for traffic but think things first before posting.
The Mysterious-to-No-One Age - The current age. I'm trying to be mysterious but I'm not sure if that's the way people see it. Maybe people have no idea this blog still exists, that's a bummer! Sigh. What I realized? I need to regain something. Maybe in time. We'll see. I'm always broke and I haven't earned anything from blogging so maybe one day I will get something from this. hehe

There you go. I suddenly missed blogging but there's one reason why I can't go back to the regular updates of this blog. It's school, of course! So there.

Lastly, the best thing I learned for the past two years trying to accomplish a balancing act as a student and a blogger is that 'Whether you're high or low, you gotta tip on the tightrope.' May I quote Janelle Monae for that. Haha.

The Hunger Games Trailer #2

Welcome, welcome...

As the second trailer of The Hunger Games came out, I guess it is time to reflect to what they've laid on the table this time.

Let's discuss the most mind-boggling part of the trailer. Firstly, I'm not one of those people who asks 'Where is Madge?'. Because honestly, you'll have that question once you've read the third book. So yeah, I don't think the Madge-Mockingjay subplot is not necessary for the film. However, the Katniss-Mockingjay-Prim part, I'm not buying it. I think it would only make sense if Katniss' father gave it to her before he died or if it's from Prim giving it to her before the reaping. Not Katniss giving it to Prim then Katniss will have it during the Games. It's just a little confusing right now. So there. But we never know.

Sorry for nitpicking but I am so under-impressed by their wardrobe stylist. I keep asking myself how is it impossible to make her look more elegant but fiery. It's just that the dress and the style is very underwhelming compared to how Suzanne Collins described how Cinna styled Katniss all throughout the trilogy. It's just a little dull. It's like watching a DSquared2 show when you're supposed to see a Christian Dior show. Sigh.

Anyway, despite my disappointment. Here's the second trailer you can't afford to miss.

Allison Elizabeth Harvard, the girl who finished second place on ANTM twice. Can you believe that?!

First things first. I hate Tyra. I hate the show. I hate the finale. Everything is just at its worst state right now. I don't want to talk about Angelea's disqualification nor Lisa's win nor anything else that suggests disgusting facts about ANTM. I just want to say that Allison Harvard is, yet again, robbed for the second time. Goddamnit!

I can't find the words to rant. All I know is that Allison doesn't deserve to lose another time. Even though it's just one crappy show with a really tacky host, that doesn't mean Allison doesn't deserve to achieve great things.

Everything is just too much of a joke about this show. Tyra's nuts! Her Modelland novel is not a Model's Land, it's just another reality show inside her head. Maybe she needs to go back to the runway to know what the fashion world needs. Or maybe she just needs more money to publish more of her egoistic being.

Sigh.

However, I want to talk now about Allison.

The most peculiar contestant on the show's history, I guess. She's so lovable in every way. She is not perfect but she's perfectly adorable. I hate the fact that she came in second for another time and it seemed like she's just used for the audience to watch the show. She bewitched many of us and we are loving it. Since cycle 12.

The Hunger Games Trailer

Anyway, let me give some of my insights.

Katniss and Peeta! When the Vanity Fair sneak peek photos came out, I thought everything's going to become a mess already because I can't seem to find chemistry between Jen and Josh. But apparently, being the first time to see them on-screen together, I thought they looked cute. These two are real actors working it out, they know what they're doing because they know this is a big franchise.

Prim! Willow Shields is so pretty. Having said that, there were parts where she and Jen looked like mother/daughter.

The drama. Let me remind you of something: Winter's Bone+Jennifer Lawrence=Oscar nomination. The thing is, Jennifer Lawrence is one of a kind actress of this generation. She may be too fat, too pale, too tall, too sexy or too blonde for the role but she is Katniss Everdeen and she can work it like a boss.

Effie Trinket and other characters. Effie, in the book was imitating how the Capitol people speak. Ergo, citizens of the Capitol got some accent going on. Is that so? Also, I want to talk about Haymitch, Cinna, Caesar, Seneca Crane, Claudius and President Snow. They're fucking cool. 'Nuff said.

Costume design. I don't want to be disappointed on this category but everything about this seemed to be under the radar. In the movie, I want to see the fire, the flame and all the sparkles that Cinna put up for Katniss and Peeta. Lionsgate, please make it look good.

Action. THG is pretty much all about killing and action stuff The last few seconds of the trailer, scenes at Cornucopia, had it all building up so I'm really excited to see the games. Boo yah!

Romance. Apparently, they didn't show anything romantic on the trailer. I suppose they don't want the public to think that it's just another Twilight because, truth be told, it is NOT. But we'll still see some kissing and romance on the movie for sure. Because if not, that would be fucking bad.

ANTM 17 and the Traditional Nigel Barker Photo Shoot

Yes kids, it's Nigel's turn.

The upcoming episode is entitled 'Exploring Greece' for some particular reasons. Tyra could not afford to have a new guest judge because of Latoya Jackson's messed-up decisions. Haha. Kidding aside, to think of it, there's only five girls remaining which means it's time for go-sees, so that's why they called it Exploring Greece. hehe. Just a hypothesis.

Going back to Nigel, ever since cycle 2, he always have had shoot the girls. Sometimes even twice for one cycle. But that's not the point, usually when he photographs the girls, something chaotic always happens. History speaks for this Caridee English! Anyway, the photoshoot's theme will be the Olympics. Because as we all know, Olympics originated from Greece because Greeks originated a lot of stuff. Each girl portrayed a particular sport for a fashion shot.

Judging by these photos, I think it's either Lisa or Laura going. And Angelea might have her another very much anticipated first call-out. But we still don't know what's really going to happen. Nigel episodes always got these twists and turns that sucks.

ANTM 17, Georgina Wilson and Greece

Sadly, this episode is boring as hell so spare me for making this really short. And screw Shannon for not participating on the photoshoot. No official photos of the photo shoot yet!

Anyway, the fact that they went to Greece this cycle is kind of bizarre. Anyway, the challenge was to make a speech for some dignitaries of Crete Island and boy, that's a very tacky idea. However, Allison, my girl, did a great job on that one. She's so cute on her pink dress and red hat. No picture of her. hehe

Then next thing we knew is that Michael Cinco is already in the house for the girl's inspiration of what kind of dress they'd want to wear for the final runway. What a silly idea, Tyra!

Moving on, the photoshoot with Nico Papadopoulos and Bench's underwear and Miss Georgina Wilson and the giant bowl of salad. We all know that by last night's hype of Georgina's appearance, we should not expect that much screen time of hers. She's even credited as 'Wardrobe Stylist'. WTF?! But, thanks to Shannon, Georgina said something worth listening to, "No offense but it’s easier to change the model than the prototype." Because, by no surprise, Shannon did her thing again and did not participated during the photoshoot. For God's sake, Shannon!

Nothing more of a surprise, Shannon got eliminated because there's no Robin this season who'll back her up with this no-nude-and-lingerie shitties. I expected Shannon to be better this cycle because she was awesome back in 2002. Sigh.

Oh! Georgina

As her tweet puts it in a nutshell, on tomorrow night's ANTM episode, we'll have the very gorgeous, Miss Georgina Wilson. Aww!

And not just that, Bench, the country's established clothing line, is the sponsor of the underwear photoshoot of the girls. Cool, right? After Oliver Tolentino and Michael Cinco? Who would have thought? Isn't that awesome? Filipino's are so proud and excited, that's for sure! I'm glad something like this is happening and not just about the other crimes and issues in the country. Oh, Ramona!

Earlier, before the cycle premiered, it's already told that Michael Cinco is back to present his creations but I'm surprised it's for the finale.

Another thing, these whole thing trended for awhile in Twitter worldwide but still is trending in Philippines' Twitterverse. Is this saying something? ABS-CBN should seriously have a new franchise of this show and Georgina Wilson will be the host. Nah! I'm just kidding. I love Georgina but Top Model is already a wreck. hehe

Certainly, I'll be blogging some ANTM review tomorrow. Some spoilers though, underwear for Shannon is a not a good thing so there are no spoiler photos for this week. Goddamnit, Shannon! Grow up! Another thought, what's Georgina's religion? Maybe she'd enlighten Shannon's mind. Haha. I hope so.

Last thing I want to ask though, will ANTM come to the Philippines next cycle, cycle 18? Or will ANTM have another cycle? haha. Kidding!

ANTM 17 Goes Viral

Hello. Have I told you about how ANTM helped this blog stand still for months without my help?

Truth be told, I owe Tyra a lot. I mean my ANTM posts are what makes visitors come here and that's some serious stuff I'm talking about. So, as I owe Tyra and the club, I will not drop ANTM posts. I will improve them.

This is not the typical review I have from the past and definitely not the recap thing 'cause it's boring when I do it that way. I'll just talk about how I feel about the episode. So yeah, I guess we can call it a review. hehe

This episode is called 'Game'. To be honest, when I was looking up for the episode title last week I thought that there's no special guest, I thought that it would be a "game" episode of ANTM. It's because I have no idea who Game was and his music. But it all changed after the episode. hehe. Overall, one of the best episodes I've seen since cycle 9. Thanks to Allison Elizabeth Harvard for making me cry.

First things first, ANTM music videos are always crap. Let Enrique Iglesias speak to you on that but this particular cycle is kindof cute I have to say. Maybe because they get to sing and each one of them is adorable except Alexandria who keeps pouting her annoying lips.

Anyhoo, the remaining seven girls put their words to their distinctive beats especially made for them. And I got to say, they made some really nice stuff especially Lisa and Allison. After that, they have to make a music video directed by Game where they have to make theirselves look like a fool. No, just kidding, I thought they all did well except Alexandria, of course.

But who do I think really made a fool of herself? Tyra! Who else do you expect? And she brought Keenan Cahill with her? Then put the frickin' 'Pot Ledom' word on every song which made it sound like their selling condoms. Who does that? She's crazier and crazier each season, don't you think?

Okay, so let's go to how the real situation went. Allison and Game had some connections. Game liked her...A LOT! And that made me change my mind about Game. It's in his eyes and smile during the panel, he liked her so much. Unfortunately, Allison got a boyfriend right now.

The music videos are cool. Believe me. At least better than cycle 2 and 9.

Lisa was great, I love her energy and she really knows what's going on. I still think Lisa needs a longer hair. Laura was cute but too cute and cheesy, so was not buying her. Angelea was in the bottom two. She's a little stuck but she made me laugh a lot the entire cycle so I cannot let her go. hehe. And here are my favorites...

Shannon - World Go Round
Shannon was pretty good, I love her the Faith Hill thing going on with her. And I actually love her song. Tyra and Nigel got some black agenda about her, I know that.

Dominique - Tooch Ya Booty
Domique's video is sexy, I never thought Dominique could get this beautiful in my eyes. Paulina Porizkova, I'm talking to you! Anyway, does any of you miss the diva Dominique? I miss her.

Allison - Underwater
Allison's was perfection. Even if you don't know the meaning of the song she just let a story unfold in front of you. It's mysterious and it makes you wanting more. Can we demand more like this? Now, here's one part of what I was talking about. To those who have read The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, I think you already know what I'm gonna do here. I love that novel a lot I'm so inspired to do things like this. Mixtapes.

Mixtape will be the newest feature of this blog. I will occasionally post a collection of music that means something to me. Like this one in particular. This first mixtape, entitled 'Almost Lover', is special. A collection of songs about a certain heartache. Pretty special, huh? Here's the sitch, since November days are coming, maybe it's time to bury the past, don't you think? Yes. You may think this is crazy, it's like doing a tribute, right? I don't know if it's helpful but this is quite liberating for me because this is planned long before. I cannot stand screwing my own plans.

How many times have I said 'I'm back' and then just leave again? This time I need to be serious. I'm back!

Anyway, before I say more, I must tell you upfront, this is one of those lousy personal and blog updates I love doing because I'm narcissistic like that.

PAOLODOME, 22 months. Quite old, rusty and abandoned. You can blame me for that but I cannot blame myself because I know I do things purposely. I left this blog for weeks as I had a hard time coping up in school. Then those weeks grew to months and it felt like years. Even the updates in between those hiatuses didn't feel like blogging. It felt like some sort of obligation. Reason? Well, school stinks. Truth be told, I'm not a good multi-tasker and I have attention problems. I cannot blog when I don't feel free. So I left and had this blog go down and hit it's rock bottom.

Rock bottom, right? This is the most horrendous thing I have done with this blog so far. Not the Charice and Jovit bashing incidents. Those are even big steps I made for this blog to be seen. Haha. I thought I already changed.

So what's the plan now? With this kind of downfall, everyone needs to have a good plan. So here's mine. Fix everything. Rebirth. Redefinition. Redesigning. New thoughts and ideas. Change. Yeah, things here are about to change now that I am really back. I may sound ambitious but I want to put this blog back on the map. I love blogging a lot, I am more dedicated to it, it just took me a lot of time for me to realize that. I hope you already noticed that the site got a new design. Best design I've done so far and I'm not bragging about that. Regarding the topics that I want to talk about, everything will change as well. I will stop talking about non-sense stuff and will deliver more of what I really love. Better not give a peek of what those topics are, just tune in for what else I have in the bag.

Introducing Domie. She's not the face of the blog, she's just the guardian. I created her months ago because I'm bored. Kidding aside, I just want to think of gimmicks and she's one of it. She's blue because it's my favorite color and she's an owl because I think owl's are cute. And she's my Hedwig, she's just a little stubborn at times.

Moving on, besides the visual of this blog, the morals and overall style will change. Not that I'm creating too much of a fool of myself but I want to change things now that I can. PAOLODOME will now fall to personal/lifestyle kind of blog and not just television reviews and other rants. I guess I got tired of it already.

I think this better be the end of another lousy post. Things will come for the next days, weeks and months. I don't know where this plan will take me but I'm certain, change will never end.

Hi. I'm back. It feels like years of not doing this and I got to admit, I missed blogging a lot. So fuck school.

However, the thing about this comeback post is for the Annual Emerging Influential Blogs Writing Project. As some of you may know, 2010 was quite a break for me being named one of the few blogs to make it to the list of Emerging Influential Blog of 2010. Still, I don't think I'm making it up to the ones who supported me back then but this time I have to pay tributes to those who I think are emerging and influencing other bloggers like me.

Let's lay the words down to the table this time. I think emerging doesn't mean it has to be brand new but got to be arising from bunch of blogs with oozing uniqueness and style in a short period of time. And for their blogs to be influential, they've got to say what they want to say and show the world who they are that makes the readers coming back. Which blogs do I think got these stuff? Let's see.

All of what this blog got is what I need in life. I like arts too, I mean, I love it. Art is the reason why I am still breathing. And Will, the blogger, just keeps being great on keeping this blog filled with it.

With an impressive amount of traffic, this blog surely has the influential thing going on. But that's not the only thing that I love about this blog. Jayl Aquino, the blogger, is doing a great job with all the helpful updates.

Can I just say, this blog is just as cute as it gets. From the design to the posts. I just think this blog is charming.

Started: May 2010
The second travel blog on my list. As I've said, I think travel blogs help me see things in a wider perspective as they give me a wider insight of what I can explore in the world. Libotero has been great on giving information and insights of his travels and that's what puts him on this list.

7. The Geek Travels
And he travels with Sheldon and Leonard? Can I be more jealous? Kidding aside, this blog is preciousness at it's finest. The contents, I think, are all pretty darn cool. And the design? I have known Renz (though I don't think he knows me), the geek blogger, since 2008 back in Multiply and he's always been great with the designs.Very unusual for travel bloggers, right?

8. Markable.me
Started: October 2010
As you can observe, I am a very visual person. Most of the blogs here got sleek designs and concepts because I like blogs that way because it adds up to the charisma. And I think this blog is very cute and dandy. But that's just not it. Markable.me is witty and full of fun.

Sleek-y and all that. The openness and personality of this blog is very endearing. I mean, talking about many stuff like grooming, style, foods, travels, etc. I'm in love with it.

Maybe it's kindof a mystery how I've been down for the past few weeks of blogging about Idol. I don't know, I never knew things. I'm just a little reluctant to blog and to review stuff. Just the thought of it. It's really tiring. Anyway, maybe I'm a little late for this tribute/appreciation post for my season 10 favorite but I think this is the best thing to do instead of indulging myself with the booooring country finale.

Let me say this first which seemed to be the overview of this post, I love Haley Reinhart.

Haters may not understand and keep on hating on her but that's not my point here. I appreciate her in every way she is. I will not make you love her but she's my favorite and I'll prove you that I have strong point for rooting for this lovely lady.

I Love The Sexy Sassy Haley Reinhart

The hair. The smile. The legs. The body. The voice. The movements. Everything about her is just pure kind of sass and cuteness all around. She's very hip and different. Quirky in some ways. And don't get me with the attitude again, haters! You don't know her! If you think she's cold, I don't care. She's a hell of a singer.

I Love The Fashionable Haley Reinhart

Whether it's the stylist's choice about each week of what she's going to wear. I still think that she always wear it on a great way. She's petite yet she knows how to work it with her proportions. Plus she always bring some colors and glam with her.

I Love The Flower Child and Cool Haley Reinhart

Let's talk about more about her attitude which is the thing about her haters. I don't think she's a bitch, a brat and a catty person. And I don't think that she's stoic and cold hearted. And when she answered back during top 4 week, ooh, don't get me started with that one. Firstly, I think Haley got this happy go lucky attitude and clumsy clueless vibe which is kindof same with mine. Haha. And yes, when she answered back to the judges, it's not her fault. It's just totally unfair for someone who wants it badly to be critiqued with her song choice while the others are treated like kids with mediocre and just the same performance each week. C'mon people! She's not the cookie cutter type that you all wish to see on TV.

I Love The Bold and Fearless Haley Reinhart

Oh come on! Who would not love someone like her that excites you. Somehow unpredictable and out of this world with how she picks songs which is why she's critiqued by Randy and J.Lo(who are so spaced out). But yeah, I love her song choices, the way she picked Adele without holding back. Picking an unreleased Gaga song and made it her own. Going back to classic rock with Led Zeppelin and the Animals, very bold and full of guts. And I even still wonder what she would sing if she's in the finale. I really would love it if she'll sing a real bluesy jazz, that would have been awesome.

I Love The Versatile Songstress Haley Reinhart

From jazz to country, to classic bluesy rock, to 50's blues. Gawd. She got RANGE and she's the best and I can say that! Blue, her performance during the Top 13, is one of the most downloaded songs this season. Beating most of Scotty's and Lauren's, who are true blue country folks. C'mon! And then, Moanin', her duet with Casey, dubbed as one of the best duets in Idol history and she truly showcased her ability there. And as far as bluesy rock goes for her, she sounded really awesome and like a legit rockstar, 'coz that's how Beyonce would say it. Hahaha. One thing I really wanted to see more on the show is her jazz standards abilities which we've seen just once in a while. I really wanted her to sing some Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Billy Holiday, Etta James and more. Ugh. Spot wasted on Idol! Oh, Idol is wasted anyway. Haha

I Love the Energized Performer Haley Reinhart

You know when Haley performs everything seems to be lighting up for me. You can feel her soul always on that stage, it's like a fire. She moves swiftly across the stage with her hands tossing in the air and swings it more, sometimes paired up with a couple of hand gestures. Then she got these hip movements where she sways it sometimes slowly sometimes fast. And then sometimes she raises her foot and partner it with her hands which she did with House of The Rising Sun. Some says she moves slutty but I say no.That's it. And even she got a real petite built, she always fill up that stage with grace and energy. She's a pro and she proved that during top 3 week. Above all of this, she enjoys every moments of performing and that's what matters the most for the fans.

I Love The Unique and Colorful Voice and Style of Haley Reinhart

I personally believe that Haley is the most unique in terms of vocals and style this season. I'm pretty sure about that. Her style got some really good 50's blues style that fits everything. Her raspy tone is something I've never heard this years so for me she's very refreshing. The best thing about it is when she growl, it's really all out but when she sings sexy and restraint, it's still as wonderful as it is. Very rare in such case. Not to mention her range, from amazing low notes to her head voice which is so divine, which she should have showcased more. Another impressive thing is her phrasing, just hands down! All at the right place all the time which seemed to be her strength. Oh how I wish Kara Dio-freakin'-guardi is there to commend her for her mad vocals.

From Tom Hanks to Kelly Clarkson, to Melinda Doolittle, to Ellen Degeneres, to Adam Lambert. Name it! Everyone loves her! Not to mention most bloggers here in the Philippines who really saw the goods in Haley.

I Love Haley Reinhart and Casey Abrams - Hasey

Haley, baby. Explain this! Hahaha. Seriously, I love me some Haley and Casey lovebirds going on. Though they keep denying and saying that it's just pure musical relationship and cool friendship. I still find them cute and dorky. And I love their duets. They're my top 2 for the season, both are genius in their own way.

I Love The Positive Haley Reinhart

With couple of weeks being in the bottom three, you just cannot imagine how far she made it on the show. It's because how she all took it in and made everything possible. Even after her elimination, though surprised first, she still managed to take it as the best thing.

I Love Haley Reinhart No Matter What

Yes, Haley should have been in the finale but I think she would have been more broken if her talents are being lambasted by Scotty's tricks. She's like Melinda back in season 6, leaving two cookie cutter kids for the finale though they are greater acts. However, I don't really like top 3. Most top 3 from the show didn't have that much exposure and success. But what can I do, she put on a great fight all the way. Nothing more I could wish for for some great talent.

With the rumors that Nigel Lythgoe put on about having Haley as a replacement on tonight's finale show. That's just real hoax, they just want more viewers. Poor Nigel. So don't expect her to really debut a new single tomorrow night. That would be just another plan for more viewers. Last rant about this season and how they drop Haley under the bus. It's pretty obvious, bitches! And the last thing they did was gave her the hardest songs. Fine, Haley still kicked some ass!

I really love Haley so much. I just cannot get her out of my mind. So let me finish this and I'll go watch more videos of her. Ciao!

American Idol 10: Top 5 Theme

The Top 5 takes Now and Then - one current song and the other is from the 60's.

It's interesting that they will have two songs each for a top five week. And why is Jacob in the top 5 again? And what's interesting in their photo now is that Haley got the sit which is kind of unusual. Haha.

On the results show, Idol judge Jennifer Lopez will perform, and country group, Lady Antebellum, will sing their latest song.

Anyway, let's think of songs for Haley. Maybe some Adele again for the current, though it's gonna be hard to go there again. And for the 60's song, I'm sure she's gonna find something cool blues there or maybe another Janis Joplin. I'm hoping the best for her. She knows how to pick good songs for her so I hope she'll stray it on Jimmy's face.

We've all seen it coming already you know, maybe weeks ago, that Jacob is really ready to go. Though I am really sure that he'll go because out of the top 6, he's the only one who really doesn't have that much to show for me. I'm not a racist. I just don't feel Jacob since the top 13 began.But many things may happen. Maybe a possible shocker. Lauren, Scotty and James may be in the bottom three. You know, there's only six remaining. I want something different to happen.

The Royal Wedding...again? I'm tired of it. Let's go to UK and talk Brit.

It's not really much of a secret about how much I admire Casey when the semi-finals kicked-off. He's one of the most talented person I've seen on the show in terms of real music knowledge. And the most adorable thing about him is his dorkiness. I liked it a lot, he actually reminds me of Luke Dunphy of Modern Family. He's already saved and he deserved it a lot. About his elimination, after his performance last night, I didn't really see that one coming. I though he's gonna be safe though there's a big possibility that he may land in the bottom. If America didn't love his growls, I have to say I loved it. His jazz and blues style is my favorite. And it's perfectly obvious that he like Haley a lot. It showed as he ended his swan song. Maybe for some it's corny but I like their tandem a lot you know.

So Haley remains in the competition and I hope she'll stay until the finale. Let's just keep our fingers crossed. Haley for the finale! That's my campaign.

I just want to add this one because I love them both. So cute.

ANTM 16: 'I think you're overdirecting'

The girls all headed to Morocco like I'm excited. Yey! I heard the news okay. ANTM 17 is gonna be all stars like SYTYCD and Masterchef. I have to blog about that.

Since I've said my opinions about the photo, I suppose this post is just going to be short. IT's obvious sinc ethe start of the episode that Alexandria's gonna be in the bottom again. ANTM's editing getting obviouser and obviouser you know.

Then, they had go-sees with the designer Noureddine Amir with ALT. The dresses look gorge. The materials used are very organic and raw. When fitting, Kasia, our fiercely real girl of the season, struggled with the sizes. And you know, she's really frustrated with that. However, among the five, she's the only one who brought some heels. Pretty impressive! That's simply a model's ABC's, as she said. Brittani however was pointed out by ALT for having a nice walk.

Photoshoot

The next day is the photoshoot. The girls are out on the desert with camels for their photoshoot with Michael Wooley.

Brittani did good. She really worked and improvised a lot with that camel. It;'s a really hard situation but I think she nailed it. Molly is next and she's actually impressive with her movements and I know she's more limited 'coz she got heels on. And then Kasia who seemed confident at the start and she told Jay that she got a little conscious about her body and that's something a plus size girls should never tell, I guess you already know what's gonna happen. And then Alex who's always been too controlled, she's not really a natural. Sometimes I think she's just a well driven and confident girl. And at the top of that, the photographer obviously was not impressed with her overall performance. Lastly, Hannah who seemed to find her stand. She really did awesome. Very impressive.

Based on the edits so far, it looks like Brittani's really going to win. Hannah may be with her in the finale and Molly is still struggling with her anger and temper. Kasia obviously showed fragility about her weight and Alexandria put some shit on herself again.

Molly got the FCO. Now I know what lacks on her photo. The color that may make her pop. Though her body positiong is really impressive and her face is very controlled.I now like it.

I like Brittani's best shot, very campaign-y but I honestly think that there are lots of better shots of hers and not only her super tensed face. You know, it's really hard to stay relaxed on that kind of position.

Then next is Hannah. She impressed Franca with her face. I'm impressed too with the totality of her photo. I think it's very different. Maye because she's the last during the photoshoot, I love the lights.

Down at the chopping block is Kasia, our fiercely real and Alex, the bitch. Alex simply didn't impress the judges with her performance and her photo. There's no way now she'll make it into the finale. However, t was Kasia who got eliminated. As I told you earlier, you should have seen it coming that when a plus size girl starts doubting herself. All the world will turn around and will not look at you in a matter of second. That's how it works in Top Model.

On a much more personal note, why is my style keep changing each week. I don't know too. Maybe I;m having some identity crisis here as a blogger and I'm just trying to find my zone. Coming up...America's Next Top Model Cycle 17 ALL STARS!

American Idol 10: Top 7 Sings Carole King

Since I love procrastinating, I'm gonna make this all short.

Tonight is great, sadly it's only for those people from 70's and 80's. From last week's excitement of the 21st century songs, this week is just something I cannot relate to. I don't think it's bad, kind of boring. But I'm not saying Carole King's boring but you know. Haha

So top six is something that freaks me out you know. Siobhan Magnus got eliminated last year and got the sixth place. I don't want something like that to happen to my baby Haley. But one strange thing is that Siobhan performed last back then while Haley performed the last solo of the night too. I'm just kind of nervous but I think it's just my silly thinking.

Anyway,let's just get down to the wire. We all know who's going home tomorrow night even from last week. So let's just put my top 6 ranking in order.

Okay. What's with his outfit? The colors are just all wrong, I think. Anyway, you know when something just doesn't inspired you and you cannot remember it. This is that performance! No matter how hard he tried to beat it. I just don't give a damn anymore to Jacob. I'm done with him.

5 James Durbin

Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow

I honestly think that it's nicely done. The a capella is something vey commendable at the start. And then all the electric guitars kicked off and then I'm kindof loosing my connection. And then he did his thing and blew a high note at the end. Something that just started string for you and then you loose it.

4 Lauren Alaina

Where You Lead

And she finally delivered something that's been lacking, some passion that I haven't seen before.I enjoyed this performance because I felt like Lauren was trying more. Her vocals are good but her shows stint was not cool for me. She left that guy sitting on the stairs. That's kind of awkward actually. But she ended it al good and endearing.

I like the fact that he had a good song choice. The start, the piano, the band, it all worked for me. The growls maybe a little too much but I still liked it. And he really worked the stage. And the fedora he threw, I like that.

2 Scotty McCreery

At first, all I wanted to say before he performed was 'BORING!' but then he flipped it all around. He started with great tenderness, it showed more of his range. He really brought something different this time and at last he proved me that he's not just that country teen guy wonder.

1 Haley Reinhart

Beautiful

Some may question if Haley really had the best performance of the night. So I will tell you, I'm not really that biased. I liked her performance because she showcased her colorful voice. Maybe not as strong as her other performances but we all know it's a performance of the night. She did her best to make the song sound good and fit her. While the judges seemed to be really like putting her on the chopping block each week, especially Randy, I am not really that surprised with their opinions. I still feel that Haley should stay until finale.

I honestly liked their vocals here. These two are really good and can create some serious sound. A little flat from Scotty at some parts but they still had some cool moments.

I call them the lion and lioness. I love them some growls you know. I think they are real lovers. Hahaha. Kidding aside, I don't care about all the cheesiness they may give but they really delivered one entertaining performance. The song speaks for itself, I felt the earth move.

I don't have a photo of their duet and besides who needs a photo of James' bulging tummy you know. But right off the bat, I knew there's something bad that's going to happen. So, never wear white James. Though the vocals are just okay for me, the whole thing is kind of a bizarre moment for me. Jacob pulled J.Lo's seat. Knowing that Jacob's gay, that's just awful to look at. Just something I don't want to remember.

Let me end this post. Jacob should go home! But I bet Haley and Casey will land in the bottom three tomorrow night, but I still hope that they will survive. Bye Jacob!

ANTM 16: Franca Sozzani Preview

And then there are five. One brunette and four blondes. Very fascinating.

On the next episode of ANTM, the five remaining girls goes overseas, to Morocco, which still makes me wonder. And Franca Sozzani, VI's editor, is back as the guest judge. We definitely expect the girls to pull something new because you know it's Franca. Though it may not seem like she got a huge part on deciding who's gonna be the winner, but it's a fact that a spread in her magazine is kind of a sacrifice. Anyway here are some preview and sneak peek for the Franca Sozzani episode.

I like this photo of Alexandria. I think it's strong as a photo. Just one look at it, it screams desert mystery. But the bad thing is, it all ends there. No fashion, no model. She looks short and her proportions are looks bad, which is kind of my problem with her since the start.

Brit

For some reason, even though I have so much love for Brittani, I am not really jumping up and down for this photo. I love the angles that she's pulling and the fact that she's standing up, that's really commendable. But when we go close-up, there's too much tension in her face which is the thing that Tyra pointed out with their last photoshoot. But the good thing here is, for me, this is the most fashionable of the bunch. I'm not biased, okay!

Hannah

There's something unusual about this photo of Hannah that makes me so confused. Teen Vogue actually. The face is so young and beautiful, kind of unsure and lost though. While her body pose and angles are totally not in sync.

I think she looks smashing on the close-up. I think her photos are good because of her expressions but her poses are kind of icky everytime. There's always something off. That being said, I think her skin looks so fine.

If the photographer is a little closer and worked the angles a little more, I think this would be a cool fashion shot. But then, I cannot complain so let's just go to Molly. I think she looks good, I love her length, something I didn't see with the other girls.

Anyway, the video preview for the next episode is likely to be saying something. Remember at some of the first episodes when Alex directs the people incharge? Tyra specifically said that one more complaining of a photographer, stylist about her, she'll be really out. There's a possibility that she'll really go you know. However, I think she'd improved and she always knows how to be fake, she's a smart bitch.

My call-out? I don't have a call-out this week because I have no favorite photo. My only sure thing is that Molly and Brittani will be safe. I'm sure Franca will like the look of both. Then Kasia may not be liked by Franca because she's plus-size and her photo may be termed as safe again. And Hannah, as always is safe and unmemorable. Lastly, there's no way Alex will get the first call-out this week, I'm sure she'll be one of the bottom two girls.

American Idol 10: Top 7 Performs

Since I only have two favorites remaining namely Haley and Casey, I want to make this post really short and though I am a little late, which is the usual I still fell like I have to say what's on my mind.

I expected not so much about this week actually. I'm just looking forward to what Haley and Casey will sing and that's it. Though I know mediocre performances is always here this season. But tonight's episode kinda wowed me by the contestant's good song choices. I think they really know their sound when it comes to contemporary songs.

The show opened with a group number. The eliminated kiddos. Let's just not talk about it. It's real trainwreck. I just cannot imagine they showcased the chopped contestants that way. It's so not cool.

However, it's my opinion about the performances that I want you to have glimpse of. Kind of biased, actually. Though what the judges' said are kind of irrelevant to what I thought about the performances. So here they are.

7. Scotty McCreery

Swingin'

Can I just skip on this one and leave a note saying 'Boring!'. I'm really tired as hell with Scotty. When will he stop getting the tween's votes? When will he stop swingin' around, holding his mic in his way? When will he stop staring at the girls with full confidence? He's just annoying to me('cause he's country. Hahaha). There's no denying in me, he really got amazing voice. His voice is very remarkable for a good teenage country guy. But now, I am expecting something more unusual from him. So boring. Go now Scotty! Bye!

6. Jacob Lusk

Dance With My Father

And the black diva had a little pause, he blamed the drums that he was hearing. Interesting. I still don't like him. I don't really expect myself to go back to his 'A House Is Not a Home' moment and realize how fast he moved towards the downward spiral for me. The thing why Jacob annoys me is that he's always overly dramatic that he always takes away the real and raw emotional goods of a song. He's always like that, it's really contrive.

5. Lauren Alaina

Born To Fly

She performed last and I don't think it deserves the ending spot. I know she can sing and deliver.I've known that since her audition. There's no denying that this girl got the chops to sing country. But yes, I think the song choice is boring just like what she had done in the past. I cannot blame her, she's just 16, right? Maybe she'll stick a little longer or maybe even until finale. This girl really got fans and very marketable. Too bad she's too young for me to think that she can really win.

4. James Durbin

Uprising

Visually great and entertaining. The theatricality of this performance is just well done. That being said, I honestly don't believe that it's all visioned by this ambitious guy. Sorry for the word. He's just trying so hard to build a spectacle of himself. But you know what, I actually though I am going to love the performance on the start when all the drums came out and you know, it's a Muse song, so I really expected greatness. But yes, the vocals are very weak and unappealing to me. His lower register on the start didn't build anything for me and when he upped it to get to his scream doing it a key higher, it's just not great to the ear.

3. Stefano Langone

Closer

He danced and his shirt's sleeves are even tighter now than last week, huh. And I expect him to be shirtless next week. Haha. Kidding aside, I think he did well. The song choice is a smart decision, it fits his voice perfectly. Though he's kinda weak with his voice and breathing control, I think he held it all good. So he's still safe for me.

2. Casey Abrams

Harder To Breathe

I seriously liked performance, I think he really did a great job switching it up this week. The vocals are, as usual, as if he's going to kill someone but it still worked for me. And he kissed J.Lo, he really have the guts. But what I don't get is the judges. Favoritism, I guess? When Haley's the one switching styles they always said things about directions but when Casey jumped from jazzy blues to rock, they're just okay with it. I don't find it cool.

1. Haley Reinhart

Rolling In The Deep

I think it's safe to say it's really the best of the night though the judges only gave lukewarm opinions about it. Who's biased now? Anyway, I love Haley and I always will for sure. The guts of choosing the most recent song from a real big artist, she really got the guts. When I knew she'll sing Adele, I'm not nervous. That's what actually I'm picturing all week long, a British soul song and Adele is the first in line. And she didn't disappoint me. Her vocals weren't perfect. The growls and unusual sounds were sometimes too different. But you know what. It all added to the magical perfection of the performance. It is very unforgettable for me. I like her hair and her dress, very 50's. But the best thing about this performance is, we all know Adele is greatness, but Haley is greatness too in her own special way. Adele really is British soul, but Haley made it American soul sexy kind of blues. She's clearly my winner. Every moment of her performance is just superb for me. She's sure up to something big now. She covered Adele, okay?

I would love to see Jacob go home tomorrow night. Part of the bottom three may possibly be Jacob, Scotty, and Stefano. Maybe.

Next week on Idol...

Next week, The Top 7 will sing songs from the 21st century! New songs! Modern from 2001 to current. I don't know how many songs there are to pick but I hope it's not a platoon of dipshits and superficial pop music of the 2000's. Let there be some real music. For my two Idols, Haley and Casey, I hope there'll be some good one for them. I am thinking of something British for Haley but I think she'll go with something Alicia? I don't know. But with her, it's going to be all about her song choice because she can really sing it all. For Casey, I think Casey is smart enough top pick his song. I think it' gonna be a little obscure but he'll make it right.

David Cook will go back to Idol stage with his new single, 'The Last Goodbye'. Katy Perry will also takes the Idol stage next week. I think she'll be doing 'E.T' so we'll witness some gorgeous alien next week, huh.

I liked his style a lot and his voice is so unique to my ear. Maybe he's not strong and spot on each week but he's definitely an artist I will listen to. He's just one of a kind. Most people will just not understand him but he is likable. Now with Paul leaving, only two contestants I am really rooting for. Haley and Casey. Wew.

American Idol 10: Top 8 Performs Songs from the Cinema

Here's another bummer of the day, American Idol Season 10! The best season in mediocrity.

After last week's unbearable elimination of Pia Toscano, I still don't know if America will get it right. Well this season just keeps getting more oppressing than ever. Behind all the racist and sexist thingies, I just don't get the judges though I praised them in my catch up. Why do they keep giving easy words and praises and blame it on America when someone good goes home? They are the judges, they should give these contestants real good constructive criticisms. We still need some Simon tongue on the show you know. They're just disappointing as how Jimmy Iovine is getting into my nerves. And why is Will.I.Am still on the show? Isn't Rio getting a big success?

And this week's theme is Songs from the Cinema which we know has a lots of possibilities of cheesy songs. Oh how I hoped the girls will hit it outside the park tonight. But no, oh no.

Anyway, here's how I rank last night's performances.

8. Scotty McCreery - "I Cross My Heart"

I don't really think this the worst performance, I even think that vocals he laid on this one is so solid, but this one just didn't appeal to me, which is my real issue with him each week. I'm getting bored. Each week, his country song choices are just killing me you know and what I don't get is when Pia kept doing her ballads, they forced her to go uptempo while they let Scotty do his boring performances. However, he's voice and killing stare will surely makes the girls drop their panties and vote for him. He'll win no matter what, he sings country. LOL

7. Paul McDonald – “Old Time Rock and Roll”

While everyone kept putting him on the bottom of the pack, I still enjoyed this performance a lot. The groove of this old rock and roll that he gave to me is just fun to watch. Not very memorable and amazing but I think more people liked it. Kind of safe though. By the way, the girls with the sax is amazing.

6. James Durbin – “Heavy Metal”

I know he did great. I think he's an awesome vocalist but I think I know now why I still don't find his performances great. It's because of his Aspergers and Tourette. That's just something off about this performances everytime. I know I'm a little biased but I think am sticking to my guts on this one.

5. Lauren Alaina – “The Climb”

I love all the changes she did. I like how she owned it. It's definitely great for a sixteen year old sing the way she does. Some of her runs are a little off and some phrasings are off too. But the thing that I hated the most about this performance is the song choice. I'm sorry for being too prejudice to all these Miley and other Disney stuff but this just screams cheese-fest to me. But she's still great.

4. Jacob Lusk - “Bridge Over Troubled Water”
I cannot just throw the emotions that Jacob put on this one. I was mesmerizing to watch him giving his pure feelings to this song and he connect. That's a good quality of a good singer. Techniclally, his vibrato are still awesome as ever. However, this still didn't make me want to vote for him. He's just a little too dramatic for me. I hope he'll go.

3. Haley Reinhart – “Call Me”
And guess who the judges wants to throw off the bus now? Really Randy? I agree the start was not great but she's the only one to receive bad critique of the night though there are others who are not great and very safe. Haley should stay. I think her performance had tender moments with slight screech. I blame the song choice too, it's not really that smart but she did awesome in some points especially when the chorus hits up and everything works for her. I just hope she'll stay.

2. Casey Abrams – “Nature Boy”
With the bass again. I love him, the performance and everything. Maybe because I love the style he is going for. I think he sounds cool and very class act. I got nothing more to say, I just think Casey is very special and untouchable.

1. Stefano Langone – “End of the Road”
Can you believe it? Stefano took the first spot of my first ever performance night review of American Idol 10? How could he? Well, he definitely delivered with impeccable vocals this time. It's as if he's singing with his whole heart and the performance got me. There's something different this time from him which only comes from time to time. I don't know if he'll stay on the top which is the case with him. He's not consistent enough. And I'm sure he's safe tomorrow night, he's showing some guns and biceps now, huh. Very strategic.

At the end of the day, we have to face the fact that Haley may go because girls are not acceptable in Idol. Haha. Then next week Lauren will go. Kidding aside, I still hope that the girls will stay. We cannot have a top 7 with only one girl. That's so depressing. SO I hope that either Jacob or Scotty will go.
