The random murders of downworlder kids.

Jace is being under suspicion of being Val's arrow into the heart of the clave and is locked under the bone city where the 'mortal sword' is. After Clary knew that Jace is being detailed in that totally creepy place, she rushed there along with Alec and Isabelle to break him out...and they suceeded but Jace was placed under a house arrest with Magnus.

There is an impening war and our heroes wants the downworlders on their side so they visited the Seelie court. The seelie queen gave Jace a boon but results in a catastrophic events. Simon was turned into a vamp and was kidnapped by Val along with Maia who is a werewolf. Both downworlderes are held captive in Val's ship which they invaded along with all the Shadowhunters in the city. Unaware of the extent of clary's power, she unknowingly destroys the whole ship and burned it into the waterline. Plus, Simon can now walk in broad daylight because of something that Jace did.

It ended with someone breaking someone's heart into pieces and a mysterious lady telling Clary how to undo the coma.

Amazing is all I can say! 4.5/5 ... City of Glass is up next.

PS. I noticed that the are characters are representing their race. The Lightwoods are European and I think Clary, her mother, Jace, and Luke too since they all are from Idris. The there's Magnus who's part Asian...not half or 3/4th but only part, Maia who a bi-racial african american, Rafael, the Latino vamp, and Simon, the american vamp who's also a Jew.

But there's still room for an epic, and I mean EPIC action scene where the 'mortal mirror' was shattered by Clary. It ended with Jace and Clary driving around New York in a flying motorcycle. Totally kick ass.

If you haven't read this yet, you are missing out on a great thing. I'm giving this book a 4/5.

We all thought Anne was "the" Boleyn girl that King Henry fell for but no, it was Mary - the girl who followed her heart.

King Henry was besotted with Mary Boleyn for her "good girl" charms and that produced 2 lovely kids. Mary and Henry were like a happy couple except that the king is married to Catherine of Aragon and Mary was just a mistress. As Philippa Gregory (PG) put it, they both loved each other - Henry and Mary that is. Henry was gentle with Mary, and Mary didn't ask for anything back unlike other mistresses.

Anne came into the picture when Mary was preggy with her 2nd baby. Their family wanted Anne to keep Henry's attention while Mary is pregnant. The king fell for her tenacity and got together with Anne divorcing his wife, and leaving Mary behind even when she delivered a baby boy that the king wanted for a long time.

During Anne's reign, Mary became her lady-in-waiting and remained loyal to her after all the things that Anne did to her. She (Anne) came off as a super bitch but the accusations against her (treason, adultery, witchcraft, and incest) were all fabricated by the her George Boleyn's wife who is jealous mad of his closeness to his sisters.

Mary then feel for Weston, a commoner who Anne is against with. Mary then lives a commoners life as Weston's wife aside from the fact that she is technically a royal. But after her family's fall, she survived and inherited her family's accumulated wealth. And she got the last laugh. Not that she was happy that her sister was beheaded after she pleaded with the king to spare her sister's life but its because she followed her heart and survived all the royal hoopla. She got her "royalness"back and took care of the young Elizabeth who will become England's greatest queen. Her own children also became prominent figures in the royal court.

Throughout the book, I hated Anne but I feel for she and her brother gave their speeches moments before they were beheaded. Such a tragic story but with a happy ending.

I'm giving it 4/5.

She can see faeries, and these faeries are giving her a hard time. She's being warned not to mention anything about faeries to anyone.

One night when she was being punished by the faeries, and caused a big mess in her room; her mother has had enough of her and sent her to her grandmother's Manor.

There, she discovers an unsolved mystery about a girl who went missing in the forest. She, along with Fabian, the caretaker's son whose grandfather is being tormented as the guy who has last seen the missing girl alive, must find all the clues to solve this mystery.

She faced life threatening danger, but it has a happy ending...kinda.
__________________

Lackluster is the best work that I can describe this book. The pace is kinda slow, and there's not much excitement (considering the supernatural element involved). And there are loose ends which makes sense because the author is going to make a sequel. I still don't see the connection of the 13 treasures to the story. Maybe we'll find out in the sequel.

I may buy the 2nd book due to curiosity, but it does not excite me...at all.

2/5

The 1st is a Sunday Times bestseller by Camilla Morton. This is tagged as the girl's guide to everything. Sounds very nice, and chic. Can't wait to tell ya'll what is this akk about.

The other one is by Michelle Harrison. 13 treasures looks like a young adult fiction with the fairies and stuff.

This is going to be exciting.

I'll post my comments about the books in a couple of days.

I thoroughly enjoyed the novel so I decided to buy this one.

This is a different story from the novel. This is how Daniel came to be friends with number 7's son, Kildare. --Number 7 is the most notorious alien outlaw who killed his (Daniel's) parents.

This tackles friendship, and family. A good read for everyone.

The n0vel is full-colored. Definitely an enjoyable companion to the novel.

Plus, you can download the audio reading by Milo Ventimiglia.

Check this out in your local bookstore.

Rating: 4/5

Back at school, it was always dates, names, and events. But I have always been fascinated with how people live in the olden times, especially the royals.

Then I discovered the genre of historical fiction. As far as I can remember, this book is the 1st historical fiction that I've read.

This is the 6th book of "Tudor Chronicles" by Terry Deary. The story revolves around the fictional Marsden family who has lived the glamorous life of the England court. Their lives intertwines with the lives of the royals.

Will is the narrator of the story. He wants to be an an actor but his father insists, and his great-uncle hopes that he become a knight.

In this book, he is sent to London to clear their family's name. Then he gets to meet the Queen of England, Elizabeth I, but he hasn't bargained for Doctor Dee, the Queen's great magician. The Queen is dying and the the country is in turmoil. It's a race against time to clear their name before the Queen crosses over to the next life. Together with their family's most loyal friend, Meg, they faced a life-and-death decision that would change their lives forever.
.....

This is a pretty good book. Too bad I wasn't able to read the other ones though. I rate this one 3.5/5
.....

Other book by Terry.

*PS: Terry set her own production company and is in talks with BBC to have these books be made into a TV series or something. These words will be on your mind when you read this book by Talmage Cooley and Andy Spade. This cofeetable book is a compilation of short stories by real people getting it on in public. In the back of a car, in public transportation, in parks, in the ladies room, and in the elevator. Everywhere! This isn't a sex book but this might excite you. ;)

"This book is about those times when love didn't have the patience to make it to the bedroom.

This book teaches us that love is an unpredictable, insatiable, demanding force that will make its will known in the mosst inconvenient times and places. " -The Authors

An excerpt:
"I was nineteen and my boyfriend came up for my first sorority formal, where I was sworn in as a Chi Omega pledge. Of course I had to wear the long white dress. During the formal dinner I took his hand and slid it up my dress abd put it on my growler. ... I wanted him to know I didn't have any panties on. So while this 900-year-old woman gave this speech about what it meant to pledge Chi Omega...he sat there and fingered me. ... He pulled me up the stairs...and railroaded me against the wall. I had my legs up in the air and we did it right there. ... I remember that alll the speeches were about...being moral and pure." -Valerie (Some names have been changed to protect the guilty)

This book isn't for everyone including me. This isn't really my thing but maybe its yours.

Rating: 2/5
[Disclaimer: No copyright infringementment intended.]
