Here is my project!

I was inspired by Super Bowl commercials! I don't watch Football or the Super Bowl, but I enjoy all the commercials they release every year! I loved "The Force" VW commercial from 2011 so I decided to create a digital layout for it! (i got to use some of my Photoshop skills ;)

My ingredient for this hop is to incorporate a digital element on your page. Maybe you have a digital cutting software to go with your electronic die cut machine. I consider that digital! OR Type up your journaling, OR print out a flower/embellishment/paper patterned and add to your page! Be creative with this! There are a lot of options! Your layout does not have to be 100% digital like mine.

Yellow Brick Road and Wood Grain tutorial

Yellow brick road tutorial (as seen above)

You will need a craft/pigment ink something with a strong opacity in a golden yellow
chip board or craft cardstock
Perfect pearls (gold) powder or in spray form
a brick pattern stamp
dye ink pad (for stamped image)

Ink chipboard with craft/pigment yellow ink pad. I did pad direct to paper to get a nice bright color.

Dab on perfect pearls powder (or mist, your preference)

Choose a dye based ink pad color of your choice (I choose an orange) and stamp your chipboard. Perfect pearls will lift off your chipboard onto your stamp. be sure to clean stamp if you don't want pearl color in your stamp pad.

Add a little more perfect pearls to soften stamped image and you're done! We're off to see the wizard!!!

Technique can also be achieved with the tutorial below if you have an embossing folder that is a brick pattern. (which i don't) but same rules would apply to the brick embossing folder as the wood grain below but no sanding would be required. you'd ink your embossing folder as a 2nd to last step.

Start with a plain piece of chipboard or cardstock (with a craft or brown core)

Heavily ink embossing folder

Place chipboard into embossing folder and run thru diecut or embossing machine.
This is your rough version.

Ink the top or embossed area with another color of brown ink (lighter) and then sand for a smoother finish.

and you're done!

Snow Cap and Alcohol Ink

This one is for my friend Tracey S. who is a big fan and user of Alcohol Inks and is always a big inspiration for me. I used some Tim Holtz metal elements and ranger Adirondack inks

This is a side by side comparison of what the inked metal looked like. It was a copper/bronze type color. Using the alcohol links and the new "snow cap" white addivtive, I tried to make it look like it had patina tarnished.

I used snow cap, lettace and stream alcohol inks. I hope I made Tracey proud!!

Orange Blog Hop - Fiskateer Fun

If you have come from MareBear Scraps you are in the right place. This is a stop on the Orange Blog Hop where members of Fiskateers, a community sponsored by Fiskars, is sharing their passion for crafting.

For my project today, I wanted to share with you something special I'm doing for the Ohio Fiskateer Event. I'm hosting the crop and I've already got some supplies and decorations for the big day!
(Disclaimer: US of Fiskateers Parties are not going to include these bags, these are my special gifts to my guests for the Ohio Party)

I started with an orange fabric bag I found at my local craft store that was in the Halloween/Fall section.
A set of Fiskars Alphabet Stamps
My fiskars Stamp Press
and some Stazon Black ink

I lined my letters up on my stamp press but since i ran out of letters I had to stamp twice, once...

and then again to finish my phrase!!

Since this was my first try, it didn't turn out so great but since I will be doing close to 35 bags like this, I'll get plenty of practice.

I also wanted to share some sneak peeks of some other things I'm working for my crop!

copic use - getting the most out of your markers

We all know copics are great for coloring stamped images by adding shading etc. but did you know you can also use copics on non-porous surfaces? Much like Ranger alcohol links, you can use copics to customize your scrapbook pages by coloring slick stickers, metal etc.

Some Odd Girl challenge... gimme a piece of pie! - Paper Piecing!

I've had DCWV Rockstar Stack sitting around for a couple of years now. Got to put it to use.
