One scenario set out by climatologists is that global warming in Egypt could speed up the Nile river evaporation process and lead to a decline in freshwater supplies, exacerbating the country’s acute shortage of water for drinking, irrigation and hydro-electric generation.

Such a scenario could also have serious socio-economic consequences, one of which could be that Egypt might not be able to feed its 80 million people.

However, experts offer conflicting projections and remain uncertain whether climate change will have such a negative impact on the Nile.

A row is simmering between Uganda and Tanzania over the latter’s demand that Kampala share details of secret bilateral arrangements on the use of the River Nile’s waters that were allegedly agreed with Egypt during a brief stopover in Entebbe by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak at the end of July.

Tanzania suspects that the two leaders entered a pact to take more water out of the river for their mutual benefit.

Kalam, former President of India, to connect the 53 nations of the African Union by satellite and fibre optic network to provide effective tele-education, tele-medicine, Internet, video conferencing and Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services, as well as support to e-Governance, e-Commerce, infotainment, resource mapping and meteorological services.

Le 4 juillet 1978 disparaissait Paul Cuvelier. L’artiste belge, créateur de Corentin, avait 54 ans. En mai 1968, pendant que d’autres défilaient dans la rue, il publiait avec Jean Van Hamme un ouvrage érotico-mythologique Epoxy qui tranchait avec le reste de son œuvre BD, mais se rapprochait de ses goûts pour la peinture.

Paul Cuvelier était de ces artistes qui cherchaient leur voie toute leur vie et effectivement il cherchait dans le dessin, la peinture ou la sculpture des moyens d’expression. Débutant aux côtés de Jacobs et de Hergé au journal ...
