A blizzard in Virginia at the end of March — not something that comes around all that often! I've decided that the first photo will be the album cover for my imaginary future record. Just sets a real ~mood~

Not sure how I went so long without posting, but my hiatus was completely unintentional! A busy start to the year turned into radio silence around here for a couple of months. A winter hibernation of sorts.

Here's to spring awakenings!

I haven't taken my camera anywhere in a month, but I recently switched over from my cracked-screen, constantly-frozen old Android phone to an iPhone 4s. Kyle had been secretly saving up for a while and surprised me with it on Christmas. Huge thrill! Needless to say, I've had a renewed love for Instagram since getting my new phone, so I thought I'd share a few of the photos that I've taken over the past couple of weeks:

New case for a new phone! I got it here if anyone is curious.

Working on a design for a client one day over the holidays (though I ended up scrapping this and doing something different). Not pictured: my glass of white wine, which pairs perfectly with any art project!

This is what "snow" looks like in Charlottesville. Our only snowfall so far this year. 30 minutes of flurries, leading to this pathetic accumulation. You can see it if you squint! After 22 years of Canadian snow (Toronto snow at that. It's pretty for five minutes and then just black forever), I'd been so excited to live in places that get little to none (the southern tip of South Korea, and now central Virginia) but damn, I miss it now!

Not sure if I've mentioned this before, but I work in an independent fabric shop, located in a huge, beautiful house from the 1800s. We have 18 rooms full of bolts of fabric and do custom design/upholstery work too. I went from knowing nothing about fabrics and very little about interior design to being saturated on a daily basis. I love graphic design and would never want to do interiors on my own for a living, but the experience has been a blast and I have learned so much. I get to play with fabrics all day long! What could be more fun? Anyway, this is a photo I took of some thread in shades of pink one day last week.

Kyle playing guitar this past Sunday morning. Note the still empty frames that have literally not changed since I lamented about them back in May. Ahem.

Caught this beautiful sunset this past Friday evening, as I walked home from work. Purple and orange, as far as the eye can see.
