I believe that most orbs can be explained. After years of working with digital photographs I have noted that the point-and-shoot cameras have lens and flash in very close proximity to one another. If I stand to the side of the camera while someone takes a picture, I can actually see the particles in the air illuminated in front of the lens. Dust, humidity, pollen, and dander all show up as orbs and pretty much every house has this. As the SPIRITS has aged, fewer orb images appear online. However, sometimes they are still posted primarily because we have nothing else visual on the page. We don’t really endorse orbs that much.

It's natural to be frightened during an investigation. If you are touched on the arm and there is no one physically next to you doing the touching, then of course you may be scared and exclaim, "What the !@#$ was that?!?" As professional investigators we always try to remember, though, that the clients are there in the room with us during the investigation or are hearing the exclamation on an EVP session recording a few weeks later and if they hear us acting out in fear, then they too will be frightened.
