I can’t visit Paris without a visit to Angelina. With a regular clientele of celebrities and fashion moguls, and a pastry recipe that’s been closely guarded for more than a century, Angelina is a must-visit for any Parisian holiday.

Founded in 1903, Angelina has been a haunt for Parisian gourmets for more than a 100 years; amongst the many visitors, Coco Chanel, Proust as well as some of the worlds leading fashion designers have passed through this tea-room. Stop by for tea or hot chocolate and admire the unique interior design conceived by famous belle-époque designer Eduoard-Jean Niermans whose graceful mix of elegance, charm and refinement lend Angelina an ambiance that doesn’t sacrifice class for comfort.

If your appetite leans more toward sweets than style, Angelina will not disappoint. While the tearoom does offer a lunch menu of salads, sandwiches, and quiche; it is best known for its hot chocolate and Mont-Blanc’s. Angelina’s specialty, the Chocolate African, is an extremely rich concoction with a velvety flavor and texture that is sure to impress even the most discriminating chocolate connoisseur. The tearooms signature pastry, the Mont-Blanc, also enjoys a well-deserved reputation among discerning sweet-tooths. This to-die-for pastry has a meringue base, with chestnut puree and whipped cream. Enjoy! Just don’t bother asking for the recipe.
