AR.Freeflight 2.2 was removed from iTunes last month due to the need for patents’ clarification on accelerometer and absolute control.

We encourage iOS pilots to try a new piloting app, fast and easy: AR.Drone. Get it!

In the meantime, we have enriched AR.Race2 App (version 2.2) with a free piloting mode to continue enjoying flying the AR.Drone.

Parrot and a postal company, an unlikely tandem ? Quite the opposite !
An international group of services (postal, financial, communication) and a talented French start-up can achieve great results, thanks to mutual respect, dynamism and partnership.
That was the spirit of this April Fools news, and we hope you liked it.

Parrot et le groupe La Poste, binôme improbable ? Nous sommes convaincus du contraire.
Un grand groupe de services et une start-up française talentueuse peuvent faire de grandes choses ensemble dans l’écoute et le respect réciproques, portés par le dynamisme de la synergie.
C’est dans cet esprit que nous avons monté ensemble, et en 24h, ce poisson d’avril qui, nous l’espérons, vous aura fait sourire.

Engagé depuis plusieurs années dans un plan de modernisation de ses activités de livraison, le groupe La Poste a décidé d’innover une nouvelle fois en développant un partenariat avec la société française Parrot.
Cet accord a pour but de mettre en place début mai une offre de portage à domicile des journaux en utilisant l’AR.Drone conçu par Parrot. Cette offre sera testée dans la région Auvergne auprès de personnes volontaires. Plusieurs personnalités du web ont déjà donné leur accord pour participer à ce test comme le bloggeur korben ou le E-commerçant Olivier Bernasson afin de retrouver le plaisir du papier.

Ce nouveau drone spécialement développé pour l’occasion par les équipes de Parrot portera le nom de «Air Drone Postal» en référence à l’histoire de l’aéropostale.

Un vingtaine de drones seront pré positionnés dans les bureaux de poste ou centre courrier à proximité des clients pour permettre une livraison avant 7h du matin de la presse. Ils seront pilotés par 20 postiers actuellement en formation.
Grâce à sa portée de plus de 50 mètres, l’AR.Drone postal peut facilement atteindre des zones éloignées, franchir un grillage, voler au-dessus de chiens, atteindre un étage élevé.

En fonction de cette phase de test le groupe La Poste et la société Parrot étudieront la faisabilité d’une généralisation de ce service.

Project Shield is a full Android device with integrated console-grade controls, which include two analog sticks, buttons, shoulder triggers, and a D-pad. As a fully functional Android device, it was demoed today piloting the AR.Drone 2.0 with a soon-to-be-announced update version of AR.Freeflight.

The result is a fantastic flying experience, explains Patrick Beaulieu, an NVIDIAN who will be demonstrating the combo at GTC’s exhibit hall.

Project SHIELD’s console quality control sticks make the drone a pleasure to fly, Beaulieu says.

And by moving the controls for the device off the screen, viewers can see the unobstructed view from drone’s high-definition camera reproduced on Project SHIELD’s retina-quality 5-inch screen.
