Carissa and Andrew made it official on an absolutely gorgeous sun-drenched day in Rhode Island, where the two exchanged rings and vows in front of their very fun-lovin’ friends and fam. The ceremony and reception took place at Spring House Hotel on Block Island overlooking the Atlantic, where Carissa donned a strapless gown with a ruffled skirt, carried a pink ribbon wrapped bouquet of pink flowers and sported some fab pink heels with sparkle, a flower accent and some bling bling on the heel! Love! Andrew kept the beachside casual cool look with a khaki suit and pink tie and vest.

The reception was held on a terrace with spectacular views, with guests seated at rectangular tables with brown table runners and pink and green floral arrangements, and they kept their cool in the sun dining under great big green umbrellas. For the couple, a sweet little sweetheart table was placed at the end of the dance floor so this duo could have front row seats at the show!

And what a show it was. This happy couple had some happy feet, showing off their moves out on the dance floor! They were joined by all of their guests for a day of kicking off their heels and rocking their socks off! Literally, in fact – the bride did a quickie wardrobe change and came out in a little pink reception dress with matching dance floor-friendly flip flops.

To thank all of their guests for joining them on their big day, they offered up pink M&Ms personalized with their names, a delicious edible favor to end this fabulous wedding day on a sweet note!

Well, now if this isn’t rainbow “brite” all grown up! If you’re a colorful kinda gal and can’t choose just one or two colors out of the rainbow lineup for your wedding, by golly, use ‘em all! Rainbow weddings are as fun as they are just so gosh darn perty, and you can bring all the colors of the rainbow into your day in whimsical and beautiful ways. Take the bridesmaids gowns. No, I’m not suggesting you find a rainbow colored fabric (though a cute little ivory gown with thin rainbow stripes certainly would be adorbs), but you can have your bridesmaids recreate the rainbow by dressing each one up in a different color of the rainbow! Genius! It makes quite the photo op and your guests will love watching the rainbow of colors walk down your aisle. Pair ‘em each with a bouquet that matches their gown and a groomsman with matching socks.

Of course the treats at your wedding are another time where you can play with your food coloring and come up with all sorts of fun rainbow ideas your guests will be sweet on. I absolutely L.O.V.E this rainbow heart wedding cake. It’s girly and fun and looks good enough to eat!

I also am a big fan of this clever take on the rainbow idea of ordering up a range of drink flavors and then lining ‘em up in the colors of the rainbow. Definitely a rainbow idea I could drink up!

Are you loving the ombre craze? Like you’ve totally created the ombre effect with your hair (it’s about time the “roots” look became a trend and not a total faux pas!), and you’ve completely reorganized your closet to go from whites to lighter to darker and darkest? Well, you’re in luck, because the wedding world has caught on to this trend and is bringing it into weddings in fun and whimsical ways. One of the more popular ideas is to create the ombre effect with the frosting on the wedding cake, and I’ve seen this done several times as of late with the oh-so-lovely ruffle trend (thanks, Maggie Austin!) but I would say one of the most creative and unexpected steps I’ve seen the trend take is down the aisle…and I’m not talking wedding dresses. Ombre ceremony aisles are popping up at more and more weddings, and I for one love, love, LOVE it. It gives your ceremony an entirely new look, adding a pop of color not from expensive flower arrangements or an elaborate arch, but from the aisle itself! In fact, for the aisle to have the greatest impact I recommend not having a whole lotta other decor to detract from it.

Oh and I may have failed to mention…these ombre aisle effects aren’t aisle runners. They’re flower petals, adding texture and a bit of whimsy to that walk down the aisle. Sure, petals on the aisle are no new thing, but done up in ombre is fresh and modern. Plus, petals don’t cost a lot of moolah, so you’ve just decreased the cost of decorating your ceremony. Smart and stylish! Go for an entire aisle filled with flowers or line the edges if you don’t want to worry about mussing up the look with the wedding march to your man, or get even more creative and make the petals into a design with the ombre effect! Now that will wow your guests.

Rose petals are the most common, but with springtime around the corner you can pick a flower that goes with the season – it’s up to you! Is your fave flower not in season? Go with silk, such as silk cherry blossom petals as a nod to your DC roots smack dab in the dead of winter.

When Cortney and Fletcher tied the knot, they made their wedding day all about them! Keeping it casual and intimate, close friends and fam watched these two wed at Chapel on the Farm, an old 1920′s vintage home perfect for these smaller gatherings. Cortney wore a sweet beaded one-shoulder knee-length number that showed off her body art – including a green T-Rex on her arm (!!!) – and donned a burgundy flower hair pin and dark red All Star sneaks! Her bouquet was done up in white flowers with splashes of silver, and Fletcher looked cool and casual in a red shirt with a black blazer and jeans.

The best part about this wedding – the pics! Jacqueline Phillips of J Lyn Photography snapped some great shots of this fun-loving couple and captured their personalities in photos that ranged from cat poses to fight scenes from West Side Story, and the couple’s guests were more than happy to get in on the action!

The couple also brought in a few props to add even more personality to the pics, with Facebook “Like” and “Relationship Status: Married” signs and the must-have “Mr.” and “Mrs.”

The perfect wedding favor for this snap-happy wedding? Disposable cameras! The guests could take goofy pics of their own to have as memories of this sweet but oh-so-fun day.

When Lauren and Stan tied the knot on the west coast, they made sure every moment was infused with their fun-loving personalities.Their photographers, Tara Morris and Ben Wright of Hitched Studios, said it best when they described the wedding as, “Turn of the century Coney-Island, beach themed, DIY to blow ya mind, recycled and thrifted theme! Amazing!” Every detail of this whimsical wedding was DIY…including the aisle! Lauren looked gorgeous in her strapless white gown with something blue shoes and a fab peacock feather and vintage button headpiece done up for her by her BFF (who also created the groomsmen’s boutonnieres to match), and she proceeded to walk down a Coney-Island-style boardwalk aisle fashioned by her bro to marry her Stan overlooking the ocean.

The carnival feel of the wedding was brought in with some colorful pics of this adorable twosome getting all cutesy with carnival rides and games…not to mention the pics they and their guests took in the three large beach-themed canvas paintings with cut-outs created by Lauren’s brother, the colorful bus they boarded to head to the ceremony (the very same bus the couple had taken to see Burning Man years before), a mermaid pinata (hello, beach theme!) created by that talented BFF and sequined mermaid kites that hung from the reception tent, painstakingly crafted by Lauren’s brother!

Guests, dressed up in turn of the century clothing as requested, feasted on the couple’s fave international beach fare with a South and Central American flair, including plantains from Panama, Feijoada from Brazil and ceviche from Ecuador, and they washed the deliciousness down with Brazilian caipirinhas and Pisco Sours from Peru. But the dessert was all-American carnival, with a cotton candy machine and colorful macarons from Fresh Flours Bakery in Seattle.

As if this day could ever be forgotten, guests were guaranteed to remember this spectacularly fun wedding with eco-friendly favors – succulents in vintage tea cups!
