Disk Partitioning
Parted Magic is loaded with tools to get the job done. With the Gnome Partition Editor you can resize, copy, and move partitions without data loss enabling you to grow or shrink your C: drive, create space for new operating systems, and attempt data rescue from lost partitions.

Disk Cloning
Use the powerfull Clonezilla to clone a computer's entire disk or a single partition to a separate storage device. The cloned data can be saved as an image-file or as a duplicated copy of the data. The data can be saved to locally attached storage device, an SSH server, a Samba Server, or an NFS file-share. The clone file can then be used to restore the original when needed.
Data Rescue
Parted Magic allows you to easily reset or change Windows passwords, recover lost files, and rescue files from devices with read errors.

Disk Erasing
Need to wipe your drive of all data? No problem. Parted Magic comes with easy to use solutions for conventional overwrites via NWipe (DBAN clone), Internal Secure Erase, and wiping of only Free Space.

Benchmarking
All the benmarking tools you would ever need! Bonnie++, IOzone, HardInfo, System Stability Tester, mprime, and stress.

Supported Hardware
Parted Magic requires at least a i586 processor with 1GB of RAM or 512MB in Live mode. Compatible with Secure Boot Windows 8 machines. Runs well on Intel Macs.
 
Supported Storage Devices
Hard disk drives (SATA, IDE, and SCSI). Flash memory, such as USB sticks and SSD (Solid State Drives). Devices with sector sizes of 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, etc.
 
Networking
Parted Magic uses the powerful Network Manager to easily establish wired and wireless connections. Includes the Firefox web browser to surf the web.
 
Additional Partition Features
msdos or gpt partition tables are supported. MIB partition alignment or traditional cylinder boundaries. Disable and enable partition flags such as hidden, boot, raid, etc.
No Installation Required!
Parted Magic is a stand alone Linux operating system that runs from a CD or USB drive. Nothing is installed.
