Ruby: http://github.com/particles/heywatch-ruby

Python: http://github.com/particles/heywatch-python

PHP: http://github.com/particles/heywatch-php (by madewithlove)

.NET: http://github.com/particles/heywatch-dotnet

NodeJS, Java and iOS will come soon.

Note that the ruby lib is a complete rewrite of the old gem and it’s not compatible. Also this release is a bit special because the new gem provides a command line interface (CLI) to manage all your videos, jobs, etc… In other words everything on HeyWatch.

Usage: heywatch RESOURCE:METHOD [ID] [parameter1=value1 parameter2=value2 ...]

    Resources:

      account # account information
video # manage video | all, info, delete, count, bin
encoded_video # manage encoded video | all, info, delete, count, bin, jpg
download # manage download | all, info, delete, count, create
job # manage job | all, info, delete, count, create
format # manage format | all, info, delete, count, create, update

    Usage:

      heywatch account
      heywatch video:info 123456
      heywatch job:all
      heywatch download:create url=http://site.com/video.mp4 title=mytitle
      heywatch encoded_video:jpg 9882322 start=4 > thumb.jpg
      heywatch format:all owner=true video_codec=h264
      heywatch video:all "[0]"
      heywatch job:all "[0..10]"
      heywatch format:count owner=true

Don’t hesitate to fork those libraries on github to improve / fix them. If you’ve wrote a lib yourself, please let us know so we can add it to the list.

Sandbox environment for HeyWatch

To simplify the development and the integration of our API in your projet we decided to drop the trial option (not very adequate) and replace it by a sandbox environment.

The sandbox environment is free of charge, the only constraint is that all the encoded videos will be shortened to 5 seconds. That’s it, the full API is available.

To change your environment, go to your account page.

Big news today : we decided to permanently remove statistics/tracking from our offer. Why? Simply because we hardly want to focus on our core first business : Video Mass-Distribution.

Statistics weren’t very used on HeySpread and people’s main interest was video distribution. That’s why we disabled this feature to concentrate all our efforts to offer the best video syndication web service so far. You will always enjoy to mass-upload your video content to the top ten most popular video sharing sites.

Of course, all the other features such as Watermarking, h264 Encoding or even the API for white-labeling will be always available.

Besides, we are currently working on a brand new “Freemium” offer. So that everybody can use HeySpread for free and enjoy a powerful video mass-distributing tool.

Stay tuned!

HeyWatch adds "multiple formats in one request" feature.

We always try to make HeyWatch even more powerful and comfortable for your business.

That is why, we have just added the “multiple format in one request” feature. It will allow you to automatically encode videos in multiple formats with one unique request. Faster and more efficient, you save time in your global process.

Have a look at the API Documentation to see the changes : http://wiki.heywatch.com/API+Documentation+Download

Do not hesitate to send us your feedback and ideas for new features : heywatch (at) particle-s (dot) com

HeyWatch officially supports WebM VP8 video codec.

We are pleased to say that the implementation of the WebM VP8 video codec is done. From now, you can transcode your videos in the next most popular video codec with HeyWatch.

Just to remind you, here are the technical details:
- Container File Format: WebM
- Video Codec: VP8
- Audio Codec: Ogg Vorbis
- Container DOCTYPE: webm
- File Extension: .webm
- Mime Type: video/x-webm

We are very proud to announce that HeyWatch is one of the first supporters of this great video project. The WebM project is dedicated to developing a high-quality, open video format for the web that is freely available to everyone.

By the way, we join many smart companies such as Mozilla, Opera, Google and more than forty other publishers, software and hardware vendors.

Here are the technical details:
- Container File Format: WebM
- Video Codec: VP8
- Audio Codec: Ogg Vorbis
- Container DOCTYPE: webm
- File Extension: .webm
- Mime Type: video/x-webm

We are very excited because this new format will open the video market and contribute to set up great video standards for the future of the Web. Google makes a fantastic step forward by offering this a high-quality, royalty-free and open source video codec.
