Your presentation was very informative, especially the part of circumventing red tape and testing new technologies.

The perspective of a non library industry person is very valuable and I have presented your issues as discussion points in our department in providing services to children, teachers and other stake holders.

Glad to hear you enjoyed Vancouver and your presentation was received very well by myself and other colleagues.

Dave,

I have to agree with you on this one. I have been saying forever that apple should outsource .mac to elgoog.
On the surface they didn't do this with mobile.me, but apple's new emphasis on Javascript is interesting. That, combined with the fact that all the new iphones have their own ip, i predict the att deal will become moot because of voip

there are many of these online, selling cards and so on?and there are in fact a few devices for this, but i??ve not tested any - all they??ve done is modify the size of the jack so they??ll plug into a cell phone, and that??s a little component

Having recorded many phone calls over the years, I find that when you have a conference call with people dialing in, you inevitably get the super quiet ones and the blastingly-loud ones, so doing some expansion/compression on the gain would be invaluable to make it more ??listenable.?? what is this word.

This looks to be the perfect solution for recording investor relations calls and interviews, especially if you can isolate the audio from your caller and the person on the other end - great idea!

One feature that would be especially useful in a phone recording app is podt-recording audio "normalization" or you might think of it as adjusting the audio so it is at even/relatively uniform volume levels. Having recorded many phone calls over the years, I find that when you have a conference call with people dialing in, you inevitably get the super quiet ones and the blastingly-loud ones, so doing some expansion/compression on the gain would be invaluable to make it more "listenable."

Also, although I have not tested it, I'd hope it will work (now or in the future) with Vonage softphones.

Recording phone calls in the modern world can help with remembering keynotes of a small business transaction. When having conversations on how to make money online small details can be remembered that may have been over looked.

I have been doing this for years. I used to use one computer, but now I have two. What I do for a living requires that I get verification that I am not paying royalties for airplay on my station, so I record them saying that I don't and I have it on record in their voice. But I have been doing interviews on Skype since 2005. Now it is 3.00 a month for anywhere in US and Canada, and a couple of cents a minute anywhere in the world... Can't beat that for sure.
