Oh! I wish you had answered this first so I could have used an (almost) all-inclusive ditto. (I turn down pages for Very Important Stuff, but that’s mostly just in academic and recipe books.) And your first point is one I should have included for myself. I read everything — up to and including magazines, newspapers, research articles, cereal boxes, cigarette packs, toll signs, and Do Not Enter warnings.

They’re so well behaved almost all of the time, so I just don’t plan for these sort of things. I think I’ll put some sort of tote box in the living room for my knitting now, though, just in case of future disaster.

The vinegar seems like it might have done the trick. The sweater definitely bloomed out, but I was worried about the size of the blocked yoke, so maybe this whole incident isn’t without a small advantage.

I love my cat.

That being said, if he did that to my project, he would be a dead cat. I’m fairly certain.

This is why the crocheting goes in the room with a door. It has been my experience that unsupervised animals only know how to do one thing: destroy my stuff.

OH NO!! You should be fine to continue knitting on a blocked piece - the gauge may look womlu but once you block the rest of the sweater it should be fine.
