Have you ever had a stressful Christmas financially? Yes, you had a great time, but in hindsight, you spent too much money and felt that financial hang-over in the months that followed.

Besides the beginning of spring, did you know that March represents another turning point?

March is the first month that many people get back in the green with their credit cards. Yes, it takes a month or two for some households to pay off the additional purchases from Christmas.

So, if that’s you, you are not alone.

And you just might love today’s Money Tip:

Start saving for Christmas now. Yes, in spring.

Imagine what it would feel like to go through Christmas buying the gifts, food and family experiences you wanted without the financial stress?

Imagine how much more you would enjoy the holidays. You wouldn’t have to worry in January when credit card bills came. You’d already have the money saved, and therefore would avoid those high interest charges.

Save in 3 Simple Steps:

Decide how much you will spend at Christmas.

Divide that amount by 10. (or the # of months left in the year)

Each month from now until Christmas, put that in a savings account.

For example, if you typically spend $1000 at Christmas, put $100 away each month from March to December. If you spend $2000, put $200 away.

Not sure how much you spend?

Review your bank and credit card statements to find out. This can help you decide whether the amount is within your means, or whether you’ve been over-extending yourself and then feeling the pinch.

3 Thoughts Around Conscious Spending & Saving

1. If you feel you don’t have that kind of money to save every month, consider that you may not have that kind of money to spend at Christmas either.

2. In our instant gratification society, saving has become a lost art.

We buy first and then figure out how we’ll pay for it later. That’s a dangerous path, especially if other unexpected expenses or life changes occur. With the exception of perhaps homes and cars, what if you got into the habit of saving for things you wanted in advance? This would teach you patience, priorities and perseverance.

Yes, there may be times when you borrow to invest in things like education or a business opportunity that will generate a return in the future. This return is great enough to pay off the borrowed funds and more. But Christmas spending isn’t the same thing.

3. If you discover that the amount you spend on Christmas is excessive or beyond your means, ask yourself why. In coaching women around gift-giving, I’ve noticed that many can feel they need to shower others with gifts to express love and to feel loved and valued themselves. This need can run deep and reflect your sense of worth in the world. So gift yourself lots of compassion as you look at this for yourself.

What if you were enough without spending a dime?

What if Christmas could be redefined around quality family time and gifts that didn’t break the bank?

Children could also benefit from learning to save and not getting everything they wanted right away. That’s a valuable life lesson right there.

So, gift yourself this simple savings plan. It will empower you the whole year through.

Love & abundance,
Paula

Ever have the feeling that the Universe is trying to tell you something? Something that you just can’t ignore? Let me share vulnerably what happened to me recently.

This last year has been a tough year physically for my body. One thing after another, from shingles, to thyroid imbalances, to adrenal fatigue, my body has felt compromised. It all came to a head on the July long weekend when I could barely get out of bed.

I was so depleted and concerned that something was severely wrong with me and the lump on the side of my throat. I sought medical, energetic and spiritual support. I had to embrace my very low energy. There was no pushing through it this time (in fact, I clearly saw how many times I’d done that in the past).

Gratefully, I improved enough that I could go on our annual camping trip to Montana this past week. Little did I know how important this trip was. Normally when I’m in Montana, I spend the mornings exercising and the afternoons on the boat in the hot sun. This year, it was different. My mornings were for reading and a short walk; my afternoons were for resting. Only twice did I go on the boat. The whole time, my mind was judging this new pace as a “problem”. But my Spirit kept saying… there is no problem here. (Honestly, it was tough to truly hear her…)

Every morning I walked through the forest and listened to the Deepak & Oprah meditations on the Energy of Attraction. It was magical. I felt connected to all things… to the trees, the animals, the clouds, the sun, and that limitless field of possibilities. At times, I felt I was in another land. I’m sure other walkers I passed must have thought I was crazy as I talked out loud to the birds and flowers and the occasional deer I met on the path.

On the last day, something happened that I’m still processing. I was returning from this beautiful look-out point where I would sit and meditate, and just as Deepak was talking about the ‘breath of the Universe’ this noise came up from behind me. It sounded like wind but much louder. I looked back expecting to see a huge storm at my heels. But nothing. I looked up at the tall trees to see if the wind was picking up, but there was just a slight sway. Yet the noise was increasing.

Whooooo-whooooo. It was e-e-r-y!

Scared and unsure, I began to jog. I needed to get to safety because something was brewing. I ran for about 30 steps. Then something stopped me.

What if I wasn’t to run from this? What if there was nothing to fear?

Turning around, I let the breeze lift the hair on my head and arms. With eyes closed, I just let this energy move through me, listening to the forest, feeling it come alive. It was definitely trying to speak to me. I could feel my eyes well up, my heart swelling. With arms opening to embrace this magic, I turned slowly in a circle taking it all in.

Whatever this was, I was meant to feel it. Whatever it was trying to tell me, I was listening. It was like I had no choice.

I stood there silently for what felt like minutes, every cell in my body tingling.

And then came the message over my right shoulder.

“The pursuit of your abundance must match the depth of your destiny.”

The pursuit of my abundance must match the depth of my destiny. I repeated that line several times. In that moment, I knew that what I’ve been experiencing in my body this past year was no accident. It wasn’t even a problem, just like my Higher Self said.

All along, it has been my soul trying to get my attention to go deeper, awaken and evolve…

To bring more meaning to my work and see a Higher Purpose for my existence on this earth.

Wow… I sat on this rock to take this all in, peace just washing over me, like waves, again and again.

I’m meant to take my work deeper, to bring ALL of my spiritual and intuitive gifts to the table and to really grow them by living in them fully. I am meant to infuse MORE Spirit into the work I do and to guide women in creating abundance from that deeper place too.

I’m beginning to ask new questions like:

What is my Higher Purpose?

What is my contribution to evolving consciousness?

How do I want my brand to reflect this?

How must I grow personally and professionally to step into this?

These are not small questions. They have the power to move heaven and earth.

What I realized this past week is that every part of me is ready. This shift is not optional for me; my physical body depends on this alignment for her health and vitality.

And so here I go. Fully in.

I can’t wait to see how this journey unfolds and shapes my work in the world. Thank you for letting me share my process with you.

If you can relate to messages for the Universe, I’d love to hear in the comments below! I’m especially curious if you’re being asked to go deeper in your work.

Can you feel it? The energy around this full moon is intense. It is both a blood moon and a lunar eclipse. Be sure to check it out tonight as the colour is expected to be spectacular!

Full moons are a great time to declare what you want to release.

A client recently asked me, what kinds of things can I release? My answer: all kinds!

To help you, I’ve made a list of 7 things to release. You don’t need something for each one. I recommend sitting down with a piece of paper and going through the list and see what pops up for each. No overthinking!

Once you’ve made the list, you can stand grounded in the full moon energy and declare out loud:

I release the belief that…
I release the fear that…

And so on.

People often tear up, shred or burn the paper after that to signify the physical releasing. I then like to open my arms to embrace the vastness of the moon. Sometimes I will sit and stare at its face almost in meditation. It feels truly magical.

Okay, on with the show!

Here are the 7 Things to Release this Full Moon

1. A Limiting Belief about Money, Success, Your Worth or Your Abilities

e.g. I believe that I’m not good enough at what I do to charge higher fees.
e.g. I believe that I need to strive and drive to make more money.

2. A Fear

e.g. I fear that I’m not lovable as I am.
e.g. I fear that people will judge me if I show who I really am.
e.g. I fear success and how that will change my relationships at home.
e.g. I fear that I am not a good .

3. A Sabotaging, Time-Sucking Habit

e.g. scrolling Instagram in bed at night
e.g. starting my day responding to emails before I’ve centred and nourished myself.

4. A Commitment, Obligation or Invitation or Ongoing Task

e.g. an invitation to a party that you don’t want to go to
e.g. a role on a volunteer board that is taking up your time and no longer fulfills you
e.g. a biz task that is not generating the return (a form or marketing or attending a particular networking group that doesn’t lift you up)

5. A Person’s Opinion

e.g. someone whose words (or energy) don’t feel supportive or uplifting. This could be about your biz or something personal.

6. A Past Attempt at Something that You are Judging as a Failure

e.g. a marketing launch that flopped or didn’t generate the income you wanted.
e.g. a relationship that ended abruptly

7. A Worry

e.g. a worry about a family member
e.g. a worry about finances

WHOAH! That’s quite the list right? Be sure to write your answers down and do the second part in the full moon energy to declare out loud what you are releasing.

A key part of our inner peace and success is about releasing what is not ours to carry forward.

Then we can focus on being our brilliant selves instead. Sparkle on!

Yet, “peaceful” and “grounded” are two of the qualities women in my tribe want most in their lives.

It’s why I’m introducing the concept of RADICAL FOCUS for your next quarter.

It’s the one thing you have control over in our ever changing, busy and distracted world.

What’s radical focus?

It’s super, duper, uber focus like your life, happiness, biz success and money flow depend on it. Because….well… THEY DO!

So, let me help you with three simple steps.

1. Let Your Inner Wise Self Speak

Grab your journal and find your favourite spot in your home to sit in. Put on some of your favourite music and take a minute or two to centre.

Now imagine you are sitting in this exact same spot on Saturday morning June 30th with your favourite cup of coffee, tea or green smoothie.

In your journal, finish these 6 prompts as if it’s June 30th and you are reflecting back on the quarter with pride.

I’m so glad I honoured myself by…

What served my soul most was…

I’m proud to have achieved…

I finally finished…

I had so much fun…

I feel…

Finish each sentence, trusting whatever shows up. I did this exercise this morning and loved my answers. Divine guidance at its finest.

I invite you to do this today. It takes less than 20 minutes.

2. Choose Your Radical Focus

Based on your answers above, choose a single focus in each your business and personal life for April. These two focuses are stepping stones on your way to achieving your answers in Step 1.

You may at first brainstorm a few focuses for each your business and personal life and then choose the one that will best serve you right now.

3. Claim that Focus in Your Calendar

Before life gets busy, claim your personal and business focus in your calendar. Carve out time and space for what you say is important and honour it as sacred.

Doing what you say you will do is the fastest and most powerful way to build self confidence!

Care to share your business and personal focuses?
Isn’t fall such a beautiful season? Rich colours, gorgeous crisp mornings and blue skies. I took this picture on our walk yesterday morning.

Sometimes we just need to turn our face to the autumn sun and know that we are deeply guided and loved.

Autumn is a season of harvest – where the fruits of our labour from the seasons before are gathered and enjoyed in gratitude.

As I’ve been taking in the change of seasons, I’ve been thinking about how this applies to business as well.

4 Ways to Be in the Harvest of Your Business

Unlike in the spring of your business, where you are creating new programs or products, fall is a fabulous time to use what you already have. Here are 4 ways to capitalize being in the harvest of your business and reap the income destined to flow to you.

1. Re-Purpose Content

It can be exhausting to always be creating, creating, creating. And truthfully, it’s not needed. Give your favourite, popular blog posts and articles a refresh and share them again, perhaps bringing in an updated introduction, an evolved insight or a new personal reflection.

Don’t worry that you’ve shared them before. People need reminders. Many may have not seen the original content AND you are inviting new people to see it too.

Do the same with social media content. How many memes and images have you created in the past year that you could recycle? Chances are a ton!

Here’s a great article from Kim Garst that can give you ideas on re-purposing content.

2. Promote with a Fall Savings

Instead of offering a brand new service, look at what you already have. What’s selling well or sold well in the past? Can you offer a fall savings to create excitement?

3. Slice Off a Ripe Segment

Do you have a module in a larger program that clients just love? What if you sliced that off and sold it separately this fall?

Doing so may achieve three things:

1) It brings your offer down to an attractive price-point as an entry into your world.
2) It focuses your marketing copy to get more specific.
3) It meets people exactly where they are at with a do-able step!

4. Same Program, New Audience

Sometimes we just need to pick up our wagon and sell our fruit in the village over! Ya know what I mean? New faces can make all the difference.

Can you take your existing offer to a new audience? What markets have you not yet tapped?

It’s amazing how these harvest-inspired changes can bring about fresh inspiration that raises your energy AND has you experiencing the rewards of previous seasons where you created this wonderful value.

Harvest is a time to rejoice and celebrate your gifts, and to invite in abundant money flow. Join me in indulging in it.

Do you ever get frustrated that things aren’t happening fast enough? You are taking all the steps and not seeing the results?

Both in business and life, I’ve discovered something. There’s a journey of strengthening that you seldom get to skip.

And impatience can show you where your mind is pulling you ahead of your progress and inner alignment.

My journey from Couch to 10K is modelling this beautifully for me. (Hear me out even if you aren’t a runner.)

When I started using the app, the first week was super easy for me. 5 minute warm-up, run 90 seconds, walk 90 seconds and repeat several times. Then 5 minute cool-down.

My mind wasn’t convinced. Impatiently, I was scrolling to weeks 2, 3 and 4 to see if I could skip ahead. These easy intervals felt like a waste of time. After all, I love bold leaps.

I see this in business too, especially with new entrepreneurs. A few years back, a potential client said she wanted to make $250,000. She was making $20,000. I said, “Awesome, I love your enthusiasm. Let’s get you to $50,000 first. Then $100,000. Then multi hundred-thousands after that.”

Why? Because the entrepreneur making $20,000 annually is operating differently than the one making $200,000 or $2 million.

Skipping steps seldom works when you are laying the foundation for a new path.

There are things you need to learn, strengthen and integrate that you miss when you skip steps. That’s why babies crawl before they walk. And before they crawl, babies are rolling around, pushing themselves up, and holding their heads high. They are building coordination and muscle strength and memory. They are also building inner confidence.

For those of us who see possibilities and are flooded with ideas, one of the hardest things to do is that very grounded discipline of step by step implementation. And yet, it’s what we most need to realize our Highest Potential.

Now that I’m in week 9 of this Couch to 10K program, my running intervals have increased dramatically. I’m so grateful for those earlier weeks that strengthened my legs and lungs. They gave me the knowing I can do the next run! I sometimes go back and repeat an easy run just to show myself how far I’ve come. (Mindset is everything!)

Had I skipped ahead, I probably would have quit because, all of a sudden, it got too difficult and I wasn’t prepared.

The strengthening isn’t just at the physical level – but also the spiritual level.

Consider this wisdom from Angelic Messenger Cards by Meredith L. Young-Sowers:

“When you are impatient, you are expressing the ordinary mind’s desire to override and shortcut the essential spiritual change and growth process under way within your spirit. Your normal mind tells you not to bother waiting, that you are ready for whatever it is you want right now. If this were so, then you would have done that very thing already, or would be doing it this moment. If the goal you want is still outside your reach, then consider that it is also outside of your realization…. Nature is never hurried; it responds to the cycles that build, one from the next, as each has fulfilled its opportunity for growth.”

My Soulful Advice to You:

Don’t skip steps on the path to success. If something isn’t happening in the timeframe you’d like, ask yourself, “What transformation may be taking place on the inside that I can’t yet see?”

Impatience may indeed be your Spiritual Teacher inviting you to connect within.

Keep aligning your intention, energy and actions. Be consistent as you allow your body, mind and spirit to strengthen in complete union. That’s when you are most powerful and will see your biggest strides.

And if you need help, reach out! I’m a Clarity Call away.

Supporting Your Abundant Success,
Paula

Ever come home from a retreat or conference just buzzing with excitement, ideas and inspiration? You feel unstoppable, determined to stay in this glorious, expansive state and implement things right away.

Then in the first 24 hours, you are back to making meals, picking up the kids from soccer, chasing the dog and dealing with the service guy to fix the leaky toilet.

Ugh.…. Where did the inspiration go?

Meanwhile, your partner is not sure who’s coming home to him and the kids. What “woo-woo” ideas will you have? What changes are coming their way? It’s a mystery as to what you’ve been up to. But they can tell something about you is different.

Being at an inspiring retreat is like being held in a bubble of expansive potential, power and love.

It’s transformational. So, how do you re-integrate after it? How do you keep that amazing energy flowing?

Here are 7 Simple Tips for a Smooth Re-Integration after a Retreat or Conference

I shared these with the women at the Soulful Business Retreat in Canmore. These tips will help you ease the transition and capitalize on both the energy and ideas you gained!

1. Allow extra quiet time, self-care and space for re-integration.

In an ideal world, it’s good to schedule in advance a lighter work day or two after you get back. If you can take a day or weekend off completely to integrate, even better. Schedule some self-care including body work. Often we under-estimate the shifts that have happened inside — physically, emotionally, mentally and energetically. They are real…. and well-worth honouring!

If it’s not realistic to take a full day off, plan pockets of quiet time, perhaps to review your retreat notes and action steps, and journal what is showing up for you as you re-integrate.

2. Acknowledge family members and honour where they are at.

Some family members are so excited and want to know everything about the retreat upon your return. Others are not as enthusiastic. In fact, sometimes your partner is secretly fearful of what’s happening for you. Are you burning bras? Are you deciding you don’t want to be in the relationship anymore? What crazy ideas are unfolding?

Knowing those fears can exist, it is important to honour wherever your partner (and children) are at. They may be curious; they may not. Either way, greet them with love. Feel into how much you share when you first connect, knowing you can share in manageable chunks and at a level they are open to.

3. Set an intention for what you will take with you from this retreat.

Before you leave the retreat, decide what your intentions are. What are you committing to? What is important to take home and bring into action? At the retreat, we did this with a salt bowl where our intentions were spoken out loud as we each worked our hands through the salt. VERY POWERFUL!

4. Develop a mantra or affirmation to use in the first week.

These simple words can ground your energy and focus. Here are a few examples:

I easily integrate into my beautiful life.
I open to receive love, support and flow.
My expansion continues.
Peace. Love. Abundance.

5. Share with someone one thing you learned.

A powerful way to ground your learnings is to teach someone. Pick one thing from the retreat or conference that you learned and teach it to someone in your circle. This could be a team member, colleague or accountability buddy. It also could be a family member IF they are open.

6. Implement one take-away in the next 48 hours.

Action moves energy. The sooner you act, the sooner you succeed.

Implement one take-away within 48 hours of returning home. From the retreat, the ladies are updating bios, tweaking their editorial calendar, ads and hashtags, and embracing a new money belief they crafted.

7. Notice what is in alignment and what isn’t.

Be curious. Once you expand mindsets at a retreat or conference, it becomes very clear what is in alignment and what isn’t when you return home. Instead of judging or reacting, stay in an observer role and just notice.

What allows you to keep the expansion and what pulls you back?

Is there a new boundary to set where you feel pulled back into old patterns? If so, how can you communicate that boundary with love and strength?

Please Note:
If you notice something is very much misaligned, there may be a bigger decision to make. Be sure to get support from a coach, therapist, friend, or family member so that you can build a plan around this decision and carry it out as you most powerful, confident, loving self.

And there you have it: 7 simple tips for a smooth re-integration after your retreat. Do you have any other tips to share that you use?

If so, please comment below. I’d love to hear.

Love & abundance,
Paula

Are you often focused on what’s not working or what you didn’t accomplish when you review your quarter?

What if you looked at your past quarter through a different lens? It just might have you feeling “ah-mazing” as opposed to feeling “not enough”.

Here are 7 feel-good questions to help you reflect on the quarter.

1. What are you celebrating accomplishing last quarter?

Make a list of both work and personal accomplishments, big and small. I bet you accomplished more than you thought you did! Once you write everything down, go back and star the one or two things you are most proud of… that really made a difference.

BONUS TIP: Read the list out loud either in Nature or to a supportive colleague, coach or friend so they can witness your success.

2. What are you celebrating attempting to achieve?

Even if things didn’t go as planned, congratulate yourself on 2 things:

EFFORT – We can’t be afraid to try. How many people never take the first step? Yet, you did! Every attempt is a victory.

LEARNING – Likely you got some valuable learnings that came out of your efforts. Maybe you realized an important tweak in your strategy. Or that you needed more help. Or that your process needed simplifying. Whatever the learnings, incorporate them and flow forward. It’s all good.

[ctt template=”1″ link=”SoPYN” via=”no” ]Even if something doesn’t go as planned, 1) celebrate your effort; 2) flow forward with your learnings. https://ctt.ec/SoPYN+ @paulaonysko[/ctt]

3. What brought you peace and ease?

Peace and ease are high-vibration forces worth cultivating. What contributed to them last quarter? Was it a habit you had, a system you built, a mindset you embraced, or a deeper trust?

4. Whose support rocked your world?

There likely is a person or two whose support was so golden because it lifted you to new heights. If so, make note. How might you say thank you?

5. What fabulous abundance flowed your way?

Hello Money flow! I always say, never judge the source, particularly the unexpected abundance (as long as it’s legal and aligns with your values.) Open to receive it with loving, grateful arms! It’s the Universe lining things up in your favour. Keep planting seeds for more abundance and opportunities in this new quarter. There’s no shortage of either in this world.

6. What touched you deeply?

If you’re part of my community, I’m guessing you are a divine soul who feels and cares deeply. Others may call you sensitive — I call you powerful! Knowing what touches you can keep you connected to your heart. And heart energy is love. It is courage. What touched you deeply this past quarter?

7. What lit you up?

Passion, baby! It’s what lights us up, gets the good vibes flowing and has us sailing through obstacles with ease. What was exciting and fun last quarter?

P.S. The things that light you up tend to lift your energy. The things that touch you deeply often ground your energy. In essence they form your heaven and earth. Cool, huh?

So capture your answers to these 7 feel-good questions. They just may have you looking back on your quarter, thinking…

“Wow, that was an amazing 3 months. Bring me more, Universe!”

Have a gorgeous week.

In abundance,
Paula

Ever feel like you are fighting time? Like there isn’t enough time to get everything done?

This is one of the biggest struggles I hear repeatedly in my coaching practice and group programs. Hence my fascination.

Check in with yourself:

How do you currently feel about time?
What do you tell yourself about it each day?

How you feel about something determines how you engage it… which impacts your experience of it.

Time is neutral. It doesn’t pick favorites or give more to one person than another. Master your time.

Time is simply there FOR you. It never abandons you and always provides more of itself unconditionally.

Yet, so often we hold the thought of “lack of time” in our minds. And of course, whatever you focus on is what grows in your world.

So how do you choose to be with time? How might you honor it differently, and therefore have it begin to work for you?

Below are 12 Time Tips to Help You Get More Done with Ease

1. See Time as Sacred

When you hold something as sacred, you honour it with greater intention. There is a rise in energy that creates expansion in your being. Put down the gloves and start loving time. Practice saying this affirmation:

“I am loving the time I have today for <this task>.”

It’s a subtle yet powerful shift to begin loving the time you have to complete something. If you keep practising this mindset shift, you’ll notice over time that you feel aligned with time, instead of feeling behind or fighting it.

2. Relax into Tasks

Even when you have enough time, do you notice how you can feel anxious about it? You are doing the task but your body is tense and you feel that you have to race to get it done before time runs out?

Recently I caught myself in that tense race over something that didn’t warrant it. I was putting myself in a state of stress unnecessarily.

If you can relate, trying relaxing into tasks. This is not the same as being unfocused. It is the opposite. Bring relaxed focus to each task, so you get rid of the anxious response that can trigger your fight-or-flight sympathetic nervous system.

3. Remove Distractions & Stop Multi-tasking

I know, I know. You pride yourself on multi-tasking. But it isn’t multi-tasking. It’s task switching. You are requiring your brain to keep switching between two things. And while we can pride ourselves for being uber-efficient, making it our regular habit isn’t ideal.

Why? Because every time you switch, you are wasting energy in the switching.

The amount of time grows exponentially the more you add to your plate.

Multi-task 5 things and 75% of your energy may be lost to task switching.

The next time you are multi-tasking, pay attention. Are you peaceful or wired? Are you running on adrenaline (and soon to crash later?) These are signs your prided multi-tasking DOES NOT work for you as a long-term solution.

To create that relaxed sustainable feel, take one task at a time. Breathe into the one task. Focus lovingly. Give yourself time and space to complete it distraction-free.

4. Track Where You Spend Your Time

I have a challenge for you. Prepare to be illuminated. For the next two weeks, track your time from morning until night down to the 15 minutes. Be honest with yourself so that you get a TRUE picture. You can use a journal or spreadsheet or an online tool such as Everhour.

Where are you lovingly engaging your life and where are you wasting it away?

5. Decide Where You Pour Your Life Energy

The older (and wiser) I grow, the more I realize that you and I can each choose where we pour our life energies into. It matters less what others think and more what we desire.

So, it’s time to be discerning, dear soul.

Ask yourself if what you are doing is what you want to be pouring your life energy into.

Yes, that’s a big question, but an important one. It takes courage to say, I’m making a change!

If you look at where you are investing your time day in and day out, does it align with the bigger vision of your life? Tracking your time will give you big clues. So do your energy and emotions.

Personally I’ve been experiencing some divine whispers instructing me to get out from my home office — to be in the world connecting more in person and perhaps get an office somewhere else a day or two a week (I’ll write a separate post on that soon!)

We can’t ignore these whispers. They are opening doorways to new opportunities. I always say, follow the flow of inspiration when you get the whispers!

6. Set Targets

I’m a big believer that if you are going to invest time and resources into your business, you want a fabulous return. That means focusing on those activities that give you that return and letting go of those that don’t. I can’t tell you the number of times my clients have discovered that where they are focusing their marketing efforts is not where their ideal clients are. That is why targets are so important.

I define a target as a supportive mini goal that, when achieved, helps you achieve your money goal.

You choose your targets by looking at where you create money flow with ease in your business.

For example, if you gain clients each time you speak, a valuable target to set is a certain number of speeches a month or quarter to a quality audience of say 20+ people each time. Another target may be a certain number of those audience members signing up for your next step in your sales process.

7. Choose Priorities For Your Week and Days

Once you know what targets to focus on, then you can break your efforts down into weekly priorities and daily top tasks. Yes, your to-do list may be 50 tasks long. But is everything equally important? And is everything due at the same time?

When everything is a priority, nothing is a priority.

And that is why so many people feel overwhelmed. They struggle to know what to focus on first. Learning to discern what is most important and in what order takes some shifting in how you think about your week and days.

In my soulful business group program, we focus on setting Weekly Priorities (3 biz + 3 personal) and Top Tasks for the Day (3 biz + 3 personal).

The goal is ensuring these tasks are advancing your targets — because, by definition, your targets are driving your money goals.

As you practise this every week and every day, you will find over time that you learn what is important.

8. Delegate or Delete

Look at your task list, and consider if there is anything on the list that doesn’t need to be there. Perhaps it is a project or task that overwhelms you, or feels out of your areas of expertise. Is it time to ask for help in order to grow? There are very talented people out there destined to support you. I firmly believe this.

In my coaching practise, I guide clients to get clear on what support they need so they have a solid “role description” to go to the marketplace with. Hiring with that clarity is key to truly freeing up your time.

Or, maybe certain projects or tasks need to be deleted altogether.

Is there something on the list that has been there for months, and you know you’re not going to get to it any time soon? Are there tasks that just aren’t delivering the results you expected, or don’t support the focused targets you’ve now chosen?

Remember, you do not need to do everything to create success. What if you let certain tasks go and trust in the simple, strategic few? Worth trying, right?

9. Batch Your Time & Energy

To create efficiency in your day, batch your time and energy by grouping like tasks.

On your to-do list, think about what items are similar, or at least of a complimentary energy. Can you sit down and return all needed phone calls in an hour? Returning phone calls is a very different energy than say, writing a blog post.

If you can stay in similar energy, you can become accomplish more with less stress, instead of jumping from one unrelated task to another.

10. Start Your Day Differently

How we start our day sets the tone and energy for how it will unfold. Do you begin each morning reaching for your phone and scrolling through emails, stressing about what you have to get done before you’re out of bed?

The most successful people start their day differently. Consider 1) movement; 2) nourishment; and 3) inspiration.

Experiment with a new morning routine you love, so that your energy is raised and sets a higher energetic set point for the day.

For example what if you did gentle stretches and read something inspiring as you sipped on lemon water, tea or a green smoothie? What if you allowed yourself that time, uninterrupted, before you looked at a single email? How would that make a difference in how you felt once you sat down to work?

11. Design Power Sessions

Another way to set the tone for your day is to focus the first 90 minutes of work time to your top 1-2 tasks for the day. That way, instead of procrastinating and worrying about them for hours, you’ll be able to cross them off your list before lunch, and feel a sense of accomplishment and positive energy momentum leading into the rest of your work day.

You can also define power sessions throughout your day ranging from 45 minutes to a couple of hours with short breaks to keep your energy high and focused. The key is to come to the power session knowing clearly what you want to accomplish, having all the information ready to do so and removing all other distractions. The thing to avoid is wasting 20 minutes of your power session clearing off your desk or looking that email that has the details of what you are writing about. All of that should be gathered in advance so you can sit write down, centre yourself and then dive in!

Need help getting on top of your time? Check out my monthly Productivity Power Sessions.

12. Identify Projects Versus Tasks

Speaking about procrastinating – we’ve all done it – there are few things worse than that nagging feeling of knowing you should be working on something, but feeling so overwhelmed by the mere thought of it, that you keep putting it off and don’t even get started.

An easy way to get unstuck is to stop and determine if what you are considering to be a task, is actually a project – with multiple tasks to complete it. If you’ve got something that consistently overwhelms you, book time with yourself for a brain dump that spells out all the tasks that project involves. You can do this with a piece of paper or pen, or head on your favourite walk with a voice recorder. Or, if you work better sharing with someone else, ask your assistant to take notes while you talk through things.

For example: you might have on your task list – ‘Redo my website’. Well, if you’ve ever redone your website, you know that’s not a single task! It’s a project, that likely has several phases.

Write out the actual task items that need to happen in order to get that project completed. In this case they might look something like:

Brainstorm a new headline for the home page

Update my bio

Upload a new testimonial

Map out the program page

and so on…

These are tasks. And even then, there may be sub-tasks within them.

Good rule of thumb: Can you get the task done in less than a hour? If not, break it down.

Once you get clear on the difference between a project and a task, you will be much better equipped to define and complete do-able tasks that move your project forward. The goal is always to set yourself up for success so that you feel a sense of accomplishment, not defeat.

Forward is forward! The speed is less important than the direction.

13. BONUS TIP: Create White Space

Here’s bonus tip I love. You don’t need to jam pack your schedule. Try the opposite and create more white space.

That might seem counter-intuitive to getting more done. But it’s not. When you have white space, you can breathe. Ideas can flow, and so can your brilliance. You aren’t stressed out, fighting time or people or traffic. You can actually arrive early. You have a buffer in the event something took longer than you expected. And you can take a break, move your body, do something fun, and enjoy your life!

With white space, you can trust this freeing affirmation: I have enough time to complete all that I’m meant to do today.

Doesn’t that feeling more honouring of your life and daily flow?

Join the Conversation:

WHEW… That was a lot of information. Thanks for reading! Which tip stands out the most for you? Share in the comments below. Or perhaps you have your own favorite time tip? I’d love to hear. Please share.

To your abundant success,
Paula

Without clarity, the mind struggles to know what to do and can easily get overwhelmed.

You don’t need a complex calculation. For each main service offering, you can simply calculate:

# of clients X $ per client = Revenue from that service offering.

Add that across a few main revenue sources (ie. service offerings) and your income goal can be reverse-engineered like so:

You can play with the numbers — both the number of clients you serve and investment they pay — to see what you’d need for both your base and stretch goal numbers. Is it another higher end service offering or just more flowing through your existing offerings?

Once your mind can see what numbers it takes to achieve your money goals, things seem more do-able. Then the focus turns toward finding ideal clients and fine-tuning those offerings.

4. You are energized by your work.

Energy doesn’t lie. If you are energized by the work you do, it will show. Clients will feel it. You will feel it. There is an attractive energetic resonance. You won’t dread putting in the focused effort. If you are not energized by the work, it will feel exhausting and uninspiring. Energetically, clients will feel that and you may notice a slow-down in business — not because the service isn’t good, but because you are not energetically aligned.

Sometimes, we can love the work we do, yet need to shift how we work — to stay out of overdrive and work joyfully. This also means having the systems and support to make your world flow.

When you think of your money goals for this year, do they get a resounding “Yes” with all 4 signs above?

If so, awesome. If not, consider revisiting.

Does the goal need changing, or how you work?

Have you connected the money goal to something deeply meaningful?

Do you need more clarity about your offerings, or now just concrete plans for greater marketing and visibility?

You can do this. I believe in you. Please reach out if you need help!

Supporting Your Abundant Success,
Paula

Affirmation:
My money goals excite me and are deeply meaningful.

It seems experts everywhere are recommending you pick a ‘Word of the Year’. Yet, consider that a ‘Theme of the Year’ may serve you better. Want to know why?

Many people struggle to pick just one word, then worry that the word they picked may not be the ‘right’ one.

One word can be too limiting or one-dimensional.

One word may not address the shadow side or wholistic view of what you truly need to live that one word.

Flashback to Dec 15, 2015 to see what I mean:

I decided my word of the year for 2016 would be SOAR.

I love the word soar. It had expansive emotion and an uplifting energy – like an eagle soaring. I could see it, feel it and taste it.

Except, one big problem:

Dec 20th: Five days after choosing ‘soar’, I soared alright… down my garage steps and broke my foot.

That’s when I realized something about one word of the year. It didn’t address what I really needed. My mind was often ahead of my body. I needed to be grounded with my feet underneath me. To truly soar, what I needed was strength and support.

So, as I sat week after week with my leg elevated and foot on ice, a new direction emerged. Instead of a word of the year, I developed a theme of the year:

The strength and support to soar.

This theme served me so well through 2016. I rebuilt strength in my foot (thanks Jenn D Yoga and my whole wellness team) and I built support in my business team.)

Indeed, particularly by the end of the year, I felt I was back soaring again.

This year, my theme is different (although I seriously could pick the same theme again and it would serve me very well!)

My theme is:

Protect sacred profits + leverage to millions.

Each word in this theme has deep meaning and direction.

Sacred – to bring in the sacred to my every day; making my work and life one sacred journey

Protect Profits – I was going to choose ‘expand profits’ but my body said no. Maybe I’ll check in mid-year to see if I can make that switch. The point is to not just create income but create wealth, because wealth is what gives us freedom. And for many entrepreneurs that means protecting profits, so there isn’t a money-in, money-out pattern.

Leverage – this is about leveraging my time and expanding my reach to more people. I love my private clients and will likely always serve a handful. But if your model is always one-to-one, you can limit your reach and income potential. Hence the word ‘leverage’.

Millions – this speaks to the reach and the income that are possible on the horizon. It forces me to think bigger than what I’ve created in the past.

Putting it altogether creates very interesting strategic planning. It guides my decisions, goals and planning.

Here is another example:

One entrepreneur I coached recently wanted to fuel her creative side more, so at first she choose CREATIVITY as her word of the year. Two weeks into the year though, she realized that her creativity alone is NOT going to help her grow her business because she has so many ideas and gets lost pursuing them.

“What if your theme is Creative Focus?” I offered. “This has you putting supportive boundaries around your creativity and choosing one creative idea to focus on at a time — all the way through to the money flow.”

[ctt template=”1″ link=”odh3s” via=”yes” ]”The only profitable ideas are the ones you implement.” @paulaonysko[/ctt]

She loved that and is already noticing a difference with her new theme.

Did you choose a word, a phrase or a theme?

I’d love to hear. There is no right or wrong choice – it’s whatever works to inspire you forward in living your ultimate vision. If you’re stuck and want help choosing, my Year-in-Review Workbook has a section at the end to explore words.

Be sure that whatever you choose, it feels wholistic in not only addressing the profound, juicy emotive word(s), but also the very practical path. That’s when you know you have something with legs.

Click here to get your copy of the Year-In-Review Workbook.

Supporting Your Abundant Success,

Paula

Recently I took a stand for something I’m deeply passionate about — helping soulful entrepreneurs make fabulous money from their gifts.

I did so because I’ve had several conversations with women entrepreneurs who are living the image of success but behind the scenes are struggling financially and are tired of the mask. This “fake it till you make it” doesn’t work IF it causes internal misalignment, resentment and financial strain.

Yet, as I’ve been sharing about empowering money mindsets and charging your value, I received some interesting feedback. One comment in particular lit a spark in me:

“Why are you all about the money?”

Dear souls, why are we so afraid to make money?

“What is it that we are telling ourselves about making more money? And why do people judge others for wanting to make fabulous money and wanting more success?

Is it selfish to want to put food on the table, pay your rent/mortgage, fund a child’s education, save for retirement, take a well-earned vacation, get rid of debt, care for a loved one, give generously to others and enjoy all of life?

Really?

Making money is NOT selfish, materialistic, stuck-up or non-spiritual. Money can be used for good in a way that financial strain and poverty cannot.

There is nothing spiritual about cutting yourself off from the natural flow of abundance in the Universe. There is nothing noble about dimming your light so that others can remain comfortable in their box of limiting beliefs.

Money creates options and freedom.

As a business owner, focusing on money is about being financially responsible and stewarding your success. Every sustainable business must do so. Make no mistake, even those successful leaders who appear to not focus on the money have someone in their business who is focusing on it as their priority.

If you don’t have one eye on your numbers, your business likely won’t survive. You don’t need to be ALL about the money. You can be loving, caring and brilliant at your craft. But you cannot ignore it either. If you want your business to express your passions, your business needs to make money. Otherwise it requires a funding source or… you just have a very expensive hobby.

Yes, there are some people or companies that abuse power with money. And there are some people who abuse power without money. Don’t put the blame on money. Money magnifies who the person is – his or her core values and characteristics become more visible.

On a bright note, I’m excited that women entrepreneurial businesses are on the rise.

I am privileged to coach women entrepreneurs daily. And I can tell you with deep conviction, more money in their hands is a very good thing. These women are heart-led and head-smart. Their services transform lives — they help people heal, grow and thrive. When I ask women what they would do with an extra $100,000, the answers always confirm that more money in their hands would nourish this planet.

So if you are an entrepreneur, I invite you to open your arms to the abundant Universe and claim more for yourself and your business. The world needs your gifts and you deserve to be generously paid for them. As you make more money, you can serve more people. You can take care of yourself and your family. You can grow a team and create employment.

AND… if you are not self-employed but work for someone else, I invite you to think twice before you judge a small business or entrepreneur for wanting to make more money. The reason you have a job is because the owner/management of the establishment you work for IS focused on making money. All the things that an entrepreneur manages daily (sales, marketing, service delivery, accounting, IT, HR, admin and more) are tasks that someone in your workplace is taking care of for you and all employees there. And yes, all of it, including your salary, requires money.

So, let’s ditch the stigma around money. Let’s all live in an abundant world and use money for good.

There is enough. We are enough. Let money be a currency of love, kindness, expansion and success.

Thanks for reading. Please share if you feel called to do so.

Love & Abundance,
Paula
