I've been guilty of not doing any artwork for 4 weeks.
I have a weakness for coming up with lots of clever ideas and getting distracted by them, I've taken too many things on and plan to get back into my art by the end of this week.
The time away from it has at least given me a fresh perspective on how I could improve the focus my work, in recent times I've not been happy that I've created work with no definate aim, I would like to change that.

Atheism is a part of my naturalistic outlook on life, I want to look at creating situations that develop naturalistic settings and demonstrate the way I see things.

I've posted some new images of skeleton drawings to my Web site.
The procession of skeletons is coming along well, I cant decide whether to add text or not. I think I probably should.
The skeletons act out some self-defence moves.

Why are we nice to each other?

As animals we are influenced by our evolution in a way that is both inherent and profound.

I've been developing a number of skeleton drawings, I plan to use them to display self-defence techniques - as taught by the British army.

I've drawn and added arms to the skeleton, this allows me to articulate the limbs and head.
This is a life-size skeleton; I'm looking to see how I can bring it to life by putting it in situations and animating it in various ways.

I've refocused on the skeleton I used for the 'Dead head haunts' exhibition at Guerrilla zoo.
I've been cutting out the bones that make the skeleton and I expect to animate it in some way.
The skeleton is life-size and drawn on paper, which has been stuck to cardboard and cut-out to give it a slightly three-dimensional effect. I want to involve other objects, like the roses, I want to experiment within the make believe world the objects will create and in so doing also give the object some life.

I've been experimenting with colour. I drew these roses and painted them, I then cut them out of the paper they were drawn on, glued them to cardboard and cut them out of the cardboard. This has given them the effect of coming out of the paper, achieving a three-dimensional effect. View more...

The theme of the nights events was "The experiment". I chose to dismember a football boot and draw it at various stages of disintergration as I cut into the seems that held it together.

My next exhibition will be at "The experiment" hosted by Guerrilla zoo on 20th October 2006.
More information will appear on my site as and when it becomes available. I'm interested in using the event to create some 3D work, perhaps in the vein of 3D arrows, we'll see what happens.

Skeleton articulation

Skeleton
I've been working on articulating a large skeleton drawing, this entails drawing individual parts of the skeleton and hinging the joints together in some way.
Since drawing on a daily basis I have increased my speed and am getting the results I want on a more regular basis. I'll post more images and info' later.
when I was about 7 years old I created an articulated cardboard figure of a local policeman from where I lived in Chiswick, west London. I won a small prize from the local council and it was that object that I remembered the other day which is leading me down the path of creating a posable drawing.

I bought this plastic human skeleton from ebay. It stands 5 feet 8 inches high (175 cm).
The skeleton was made in China, I presume it was moulded from the skeleton of a Chinese man, you can see it is a male skeleton due to the narrowness of the gap in

the pelvic bones.

Colour
I've introduced colour to some of my drawings. Actually, its not the first time, I just hadn't posted info' relating to colour work before. I use a simple light watercolour wash. So the work remains a drawing rather than a painting. At this time I don't want to go off into the world of painting, I feel that would require a commitment that I am not willing to give to that discipline, at least not at this time. I want to feel free enough to go off on a 3-dimensional path or installation path at a moments notice and I am nervous that painting would anchor me to the 2-dimensional.
At this time I don't know how colour will fit into my work, I am hoping I can use it to develop another dimension to the recent work I have been creating.

I'm waiting for information on the space I am organising for a group show later this year. I'll post more information as I receive it.

I found this light pen animation from PIKIPIKA a lightning pen project.
There are some great animations on video.
Animation is an obviously highly effective way of introducing movement to drawings.

The Guerrilla zoo show went well. I hung the skeleton drawings I'd created and did the on-site drawing diary.
I've added a few images from the show to my site. I'll take a few more pictures of the work tomorrow in clearer light.

I am showing some work tonight at the Guerrilla zoo art happening in South London.

I'll be displaying an drawn orthographic projection of a human skleleton, I'll also be doing some live drawing, creating a diary of the nights objects.

I've created an ebay store and added some of my drawings.
I'll be adding more work over the next few days and will continue to add drawings as I create them.

My next exhbition is on Saturday, I'll be doing some live drawing on-site so I hope you bring some objects with you for me to draw.

I've added a new links page to the site, it has a single link on it at the moment. I will be developing the page to include links to relevant sites and resources on the web.

Other additions to the site will include a shop, where you can buy some of my drawings and a feature that will give you the chance to purchase a book I am writing, which relates to my artwork and how it can be used, kind of like a book of art instructions.
I'll post notice of the new features here and in my newsletters.

You'll need a ticket to attend, tickets can be ordered in advanced from the Guerillazoo site or can be bought on th edoor for £6.

I'll be showing some pre-drawn event-specific drawing and I'll be drawing on-site. So bring objects along and they'll get drawn. All on-site drawings will contribute towards a visual object diary.
