Want to lose weight? Fed up with your loose skin. Tummy tuck surgery may be a solution for all your needs. The Tummy Tuck surgery which also known as Abdominoplasty, helps you get rid of the excess skin and fat from the lower abdomen. Thus, tightening the abdominal muscles. The Surgery involves a long incision to excise the lower half of the abdominal skin and fat. In addition, an incision around the naval (tummy button, umbilicus) is also made in order to move to a normal position after the lower abdominal skin and fat has been removed. The underlying stretched abdominal muscles are surgically tightened with stitches. Thereafter, the skin is stitched together with dissolving sutures under the skin.

Tummy Tuck is not a weight loss procedure. But it is a surgical method for improving your overall body appearance by way of reducing and recontouring the abdominal skin and fat. As a result, you have a have a firmer, flatter abdomen and a narrower waist. Although the operation does remove some fat, but remember it is not a substitute for a healthy diet or sensible exercise. Don’t worry ! Your Plastic Surgeon will explain you all the details at the time of your Consultation. Please note that a Tummy Tuck is a major surgery and so it is advisable not to let it done without a proper medical consultation. It is not risky. However, specific complications may occur after surgery varying from patient to patient. In general, people get back to work after 2 weeks of surgery and a majority of people return to full normal activities within 4 to 6 weeks. However, the time of recovery is highly variable and depends largely on the criticality of the surgical procedure. For more details on Tummy tuck see

For Most women, their breasts symbolise their most feminine physical characteristic. Aesthetic plastic surgery of the breast is a compilation of procedures that range from simple breast augmentation to more complex breast lifting. Mastopexy (breast uplifting) surgery can be performed alone or in combination with a breast implant. It is becoming increasingly obvious to the plastic surgeon that given the spectrum of breast shapes and conditions, simply using breast implants alone will not always produce aesthetically acceptable results. Therefore when assessing breast geometry and design, the plastic surgeon must consider three crucial parameters: breast volume & shape, skin condition and nipple position.

Although augmenting breast can to some extent rectify the volumetric problem in an otherwise perfectly shaped breast, the issues relating to nipple position and excessive skin envelope cannot be addressed.

Types of breast lift

Breast lift surgery is basically performed using there types of incisions:
• Periareolar technique with a scar around the nipple.
• Lollipop technique with scar around the nipple and extend down the breast.
• The so-called Keyhole pattern which is and extension of the lollipop scar with a horizontal component underneath the breast.

Further to the scarring pattern described above, breast tissue must be surgically contoured from an elongated shape into a more youthful conical structure. This maneuver is an integral part of the breast remodeling process. Patients must stop smoking for at least 4to 6 weeks before and after the operation. Time off work from this procedure is usually 10-14 days for recovery and healing to take place.

How long is the patient hospitalized?

For a mastopexy, one day of hospitalization is usually needed if there are no complications. A Mastopexy can also sometimes be performed as a daycase procedure requiring minimal hospitalization. Suction drains (plastic tubes) may also be left in place after surgery which may determine hospital stay.

What happens after the operation?

After the operation there are no stitches to remove, as they are all internal. The hospital nurse or an office staff member will contact you after the operation to ensure that you have no problems during your convalescence. There will be post-op visits at one week, six weeks and six months. A crop-top/athletic support bra is to be worn day and night for six to eight weeks. We recommend no driving for two weeks post-operatively and no rigorous exercise for six weeks. On day seven we will discuss the best way to achieve the optimum scar result.

What are the risks?

There are both general and specific risks. General risks include bruising and swelling, bleeding, wound infection, problems with general anesthetics, abnormal, scarring and keloid scarring. The specific risks of breast lift include loss of sensation to the breast skin or nipple, asymmetry and bottoming out of the breast, asymmetry, nipple size differences and nipple height differences.

Liposuction is a procedure designed to reduce localized deposits of fat, where diet and exercise are not addressing the problem. This procedure forms one of the cornerstones of ‘body contouring surgery’ Specifically it can be used to improve the shape of a patient’s hips, waist, ‘saddlebags’, abdomen, thighs, breasts, chest, back of the upper arms, neck, chin, back of legs, buttocks, and over-developed male breasts. It is not a weight reducing treatment.

Liposuction surgery is not risky. But it must be done on recommendation of a practiced cosmetic surgeon and with proper guidance. However, in cases, the patient may tend to have bruising and swelling, bleeding, wound infection, problems with general anaesthetics, abnormal scarring and keloid scarring and blood clots in the legs and lungs. The total expenses of the surgery include the Surgical fees, Hospital fees, Specialist anaesthetist fee, Specialist surgical garments, Specialist post-operative massage and manual lymphatic drainage charges. If you are looking to have a liposuction surgery, you can seek consultation from Dr. Paul Banwell at http://www.paulbanwell.com .

Know About Sun Protection

It is possible that the increased use of sun creams may give people a false sense of security which may encourage people to go into the sun more and, as a result, cause an increase in the risk of developing skin cancers. Sunscreens only partially protect your skin; therefore using sun creams does not mean that you can sunbathe for long periods without harm. Australia leads the way in sun protection with its ‘THINK ZINC’ campaign. Zinc oxide provides the best sun protection but, when applied, its appearance is white (as commonly seen with professional cricketers). This is not very ‘cosmetically elegant’ so scientists have recently patented revolutionary technology to make zinc oxide become transparent, which is more acceptable to consumers. Niacinamide serum is another exciting breakthrough and is now available to patients in the UK. Research has shown it has significant anti-skin cancer properties, as well as reducing skin damage and areas of pigmentation.
He or she will examine your skin and would be able to refer you to Plastic Surgeon with a specialist interest in skin cancer.

Reduce the risk of developing skin cancer

Australia has dramatically decreased rates of skin cancer with the introduction of sun protection programmes, such as the ‘slip, slap, now wrap’ campaign – sun awareness is vital and really does have an effect. Avoid the midday sun (between 11am and 3pm), apply liberal amounts of sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 30+ and wear a hat, loose clothes (tightly woven) and sunglasses. The face and neck are the areas most commonly affected by sun damage, so be sure to apply sunscreen to lips, eare, around eyes, neck and scalp is your hair is thinning.

A history of sunburn when young puts people at an increased risk of developing skin cancer latter in life. Fifty per cent of total lifetime sunlight exposure occurs in childhood, so be particularly careful with children; if they are exposed to the sun, dress them in sun-suits or long sleeves, hats and sunglasses and apply a liberal amount of high SPF sunscreen regularly.

The dangers of sunbeds have also been under the media spotlight recently. There is no doubt they are a serious health risk.

Skin cancer is now the commonest cancer in the world. There are essentially two different types: non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) and melanoma. The latter is less common, but has the highest death rate and it can affect the younger people.

The lifetime risk of developing skin cancer in Australia is one in three, in comparison to about one in 40 in the UK. While the incidence of skin cancer in the UK is significantly less than Australia, our death rates are higher and the number of people who have skin cancer in this country is expected to dramatically increase in the next decade.

Raising awareness is therefore vital, as early prevention and diagnosis is the key to successful treatment. Getting a tan is no longer and the attitude ‘it won’t happen to ‘ just doesn’t cut anymore-for instance, in Kent and Sussex we have seen an alarming trend in skin cancers affecting the younger age-groups. Changing behavior and educating parents and their children is therefore vital.

This piece of content is a small initiative to create awareness about Skin Cancer. We’ll continue our Skin Cancer awareness campaign with further posts. So, keep Reading and be updated!

Labiaplasty is a surgery for the repair, rejuvenation, or creation of the labia. This is a specialized surgical procedure designed to adjust the size and shape of a woman’s labial area through paring back an area that is thought to be too fleshy. This type of plastic surgery is suitable for full physically developed with a good healthy condition. Certain people who have certain medical conditions may not be good candidates for this surgery, but as always, it is better to consult a plastic surgeon before the surgery. At this point in time, there are only a few plastic surgeons who will perform this surgery.

The goals of surgery :

• Can correct the tears or deformity that can occur as a result of childbirth.
• Eliminate the stretching that may have occurred after childbirth or over time.
• Reduce the size or even the size of the labia minora.
• Correction of any scar contracture or distortion.
• Reduction of the fatty excess tissue in the pubic region.
• Create more even appearance between your right and left labia minora.

You can go home the very same day post surgery. However some ladies prefer an overnight stay. You can presume the everyday light activities after a day of the surgery and can also have an intercourse within a span of 30 days. You can also have a light shower after the surgery. You will have only a minimal pain that in most cases lives for a day or so . You can also have painkillers on the prescription of surgeon to suppress cramps or pain. You can also experience mild or moderate swelling which peaks at two to three days then eventually disappears within the upcoming next three weeks. Minimal bruising is very obvious. The stitches dissolve after some days. The surgery may require the patients to take 7-10 days off from work. The Surgery costs will include all the Surgical fees, hospital bills and Specialist anaesthetist fee. Do consult a practiced Surgeon for your case before going on for the surgery.

Breast augmentation Surgery is a medical process for increasing the size and balancing the asymmetric shape of your breasts. Breast Augmentation surgery requires the placement of an implant either behind the breast tissue or under the chest wall (pectoral) muscle. It is a popular procedure to boost up a woman’s self esteem. Breast augmentation surgery facilitate a women in feeling more better physically, more feminine and more beautiful. Everyone has got the right to look beautiful and there’s nothing wrong in beautifying your breasts. The popular reasons why women choose Breast Augmentation surgery are to increase the size of their breasts, to regain fullness lost either due to breast feeding or the age factor, for balancing the asymmetric figure of the breasts and for enhancing self confidence.

You should consult an experienced and good Plastic Surgeon for Breast Enlargement Surgery. During your consultation session with the surgeon ,discuss about the size according to your height, body shape and existing breast tissue. The Surgeon will ask you about the cup size you want such as“a small C-cup” or “as large as Pamela Anderson.” This discussion will help the surgeon to choose the proper size implant for you. However, the final verdict about the size of breast implants to be used will be completely dependent on you. You can choose Implant choices such as the Saline or silicone gel filled implants, Smooth surface or textured surface, Round or tear-dropped shape or the Low, medium or high profile projection implants. Studies have shown that Silicon Implants do not cause any health hazards.

During the Breast enlargement surgery, Incision can be done either in the arm-pit, circumareolar (around the lower half of the nipple/areolar) or the infra mammary (underneath the breast in the breast fold). Similarly, the pocket choices can be set on top of the pectoralis major muscle (subglandular) or underneath the pectoralis major muscle (submuscular). These choices vary a lot from patient to patient depending upon its needs and expected results. The Pain also varies greatly from one patient to the other. Usually, the patients feel a little discomfort during the first week. The patients may also require to wear a crop-top/ athletic support bra as recommended by the surgeon. Generally the Doctors advice no driving for at least the initial two weeks and any exhaustive exercises for six weeks after the breast Enlargement Surgery. The patient must visit the surgeon after one week of the surgery or when required for proper treatment and recovery. Thus only optimum results can be achieved and scars can be removed after the Breast Enlargement surgery.

Most of the people face the problem of dark circles around their eyes.
