Spanish Language School- your best recc. in S. America!

By backporch on May 22, 2009, 20:12.

 hi,
i'm looking to go for a little learning and a little adventure this summer- what can you tell me about your favorite language school, anywhere in South America?
if you've got several, here's what i'm hoping to find:
-some place w/easy access to nature's adventures
-small town preferred to large city, unless the large city is in a wonderous natural setting
-preferably not so touristed
-moderate to warm temps in june-august
-quality homestay
-good quality 1:1 language instruction for advanced level.

thus far i've been peeking around at other posts about schools, and have found some recc's in ecuador, peru (arequipa, ayacucho, huancayo), and a few in bolivia. any of these places would be fine.... or anywhere else, from where you came home and said, "that was amazing!"

thanks for any of your thoughts, sentiments, random musings, or straight up suggestions.

happy travels!

Need not worry about accommodations as there are vacation rentals which cater to the diverse needs of tourists who are looking to enjoy their time in traveling. Renting a home provides you ready to use appliances for your stay even for a week or for a month. You will be able to move like in the comfort of your own home. Here are some tips in renting a home for vacation trips: Vacation Rentals Guide http://vacationrentals.bg/

I have found a way to be safe while travelling and not to carry alot of cash. Use prepaid debit cards or a credit card from a bank in a privacy jurisdiction. I got the idea from a book with an international flavor. Wealth and Asset Protection Strategies by Steven Sears Attorney Irvine California. I also went to a seminar on this topic with mr sears. try searsatty.com or phone 949-262-1100 for more ideas.

I don`t have a ticket back to Ireland from Argentina yet and..looking at the high prices for a one way ticket, is it feasible to buy a round the world ticket going Argentina....Ireland...Far east for example? And would I have to return to Argentina and then be in a Catch 22? The round the world ticket sites I`ve looked at havent really been helpful`, only frustrating. Anyone know of any user friendly sites or if that kind of trip is out the question and to just bite the bullet and get a one way flight to Ireland. Would really welcome any info. Thanks.

 Hello Everyone

Im planing a trip of around 16-18 weeks in SEA. Been reading a bit about the different countries and places to vist and there is a LOT of information, which makes teh decitionmaking process really hard.

The main idea is to visit Thailand, Cambodia, Vietman, Laos and China, but I have no idea where to start, which itinerary I should follow, and so on...

If anyone has done anything like this before, you suggestions and ideas are more than welcome.

Cheers

If anyone has any specific information about the Peace Corps then please let me know. I am considering volunteering. I am an intermediate Spanish learner, and am trying to decide what countries to request. Ideally, I would end up in a place where I can practice mostly Spanish (as opposed to an indigenous language) and have hot running water. I don't expect to live in the lap of luxury or anything.

How much money do you need for a trip around the world for a year? I've heard you can get an around the world ticket for like $3,000.... but after that. Say you would be living the cheapest option provided in lonely planet books. The only people I know that have done this are people I met while backpacking Mexico... I never even thought about it before...

And another question - what do you do.. It must be so weird to be "on vacation" for a year. What kind of mindset do you need.. I'd love to hear people's experiences. I really want to do Africa and South America, at least.
