Question by : How do I split my computer’s audio to auto switch between my tv and my speakers?
I have a tower that sits in between my desktop monitor and my tv. I have a hdmi cable running from the tower to the tv and the vga cable running from the tower to the monitor. I want to split the audio between the tv and my speakers, but only have one going at a time while I’m using that monitor. (when using the tv I only want to have the tv speakers on and not the desktop speakers. vice versa for when I’m using the desktop monitor) If that doesn’t make sense then pretty much what I’m trying to say is I want the computer to know when I’m using the “projector” (My desktop monitor) and when I’m using the “Computer” (My Tv) and switch the audio based on which setting it’s on. Thanks in advance.

Does the PC and TV support Audio over HDMI? If so, you change that in the “playback devices”.
I use an app called Coastal Audio Changer to switch between HDMI audio and analog audio.

For analog audio to the TV, You just need a 3.5mm Y splitter, not a switch.

The US has reported that “the FTA contains important and unprecedented provisions to improve market access for U.S. films and television programs over a variety of media including cable, satellite, and the Internet.”

The FTA significantly limits the government’s right to regulate the Australian media, including:

* In the Multi-Channel environment for Free To Air TV, 80% of channels will be free of local content regulation.

* Pay TV will only have to spend 10% of their total production budget on local content, and this only applies to arts, children’s, documentary, drama and educational shows – other subjects can have no local content quotas.

* In the area of Australian film, the ability to regulate has been lost.

This is the AUSFTA policy summary. Now few English question:

- It says on the first sentence – Australian voices to be heard. I’m not sure what this ‘voice’ implies? Do you answerers kinda make sense of it? I was thinking for example, certain program…for example let’s say in American Idol, – our Government thinks that Australia viewers should have a say. Is it right?

- improve market access for U.S. – does this imply that US imposed certain rules to Australian policy that allows Australian viewers to access US film/drama easily?

- And finally, what does ” Multi-Channel” mean? if it just implies free-to-air television channels, does the following sentence
“80% of channels will be free of local content regulation. ” mean that government don’t apply their local content policy to 80% of channels program???

Question by Non Al Coholic: How can I watch “Live” local tv online?
The signal in my area is being used up by everyone downloading porn I guess because I am not able to split the signal from my den to both my modem and my tv. I did it for the last several years without issue until now.

So what is the best way to watch tv live on my pc? I am not interested in anything that has already aired where you can download that from sites like Fox, ESPN, etc. Most of the sites I check that say they are live really are not.

Are any of these devices to convert your pc and laptop to tvs any good? If it requires me to split the signal between my modem and the device, obviously that won’t work. And I don’t really want to pay $ 200 for a Slingbox. Anything that could hook up directly to my router would be nice.

There’s technically no live tv anymore because of the goddamn FCC controlling everything we see on tv, I think it’s censoring, every show that claims to be live actually has a 8-10 second delay so they can cut to commercial if something happens they don’t want you to see, it’s bullshit. But idk about your question
