Making Firefox Faster...

Well, this one has been around for awhile now and I haven't really found an original author to credit for this, but who ever found this out first has made the best browser out even better. I have tried this and it works. However, afterwards you might find some problems with visiting some pages. I'll show you what value usually trips you up while doing it.

In the Location Bar or whatever you would like to call it type: "about:config"

Then, start looking for these entries: network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Set both of the pipelining ones to "true." Normally a web browser makes one request at a time, but when you enable pipelining it makes several and speeds up page loads quite a bit.

Set maxrequests to something like 27-31. This is the value that you might have to want to watch out for because if you make too many requests to a server at a time they might get angry and refuse you. :blah:

Now, right click anywhere you want and go to New>Integer and name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and make its value "0" this shows how long it takes before the web browser reacts to the information that it gets.

This should speed up your Firefox abundle...
