You know what i love about bright lipsticks?

That even when its 9 :00 am, and you are scrambling to eat your fried egg,  getting ready for work, checking emails, handling random maid queries of which of your tops is expected to leak color , or what type of rice you want her to make (Seriously, i thought there is just one type) and sneaking in a blog post somewhere while trying to kiss the boy good bye, you still find a moment to stop in front of the mirror, pout , smile , flip your hair and feel glam. Wait what? Im the only one who does that? No wonder the maid looks at me like im an alien- i thought it was standard bright lipstick procedure no?!!!

Standard or not, the Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick will definitely make you stop in your tracks. For me, this is  the PERFECT color!!! Its an incredibly hard shade to describe and that’s why this review is delayed. A coral-red is the best way to describe it. It looks a lot more coral in the pictures, but in actual life it is what a nice, non-neon red with a touch of coral would look like. Think of coral reef pictures you may have seen and focus on the red coral reef in it. This is that in lipstick form! Its a great color for my skintone, and even deeper skin tones i think. Its a tad bit similar Colorbar Take Me as i Am Lip color  in Flirtatious Pink, and Mac Hot Tahiti lipstick, but none of them are close dupes.

In terms of texture, these Shiseido Lipsticks are the most creamy and luxuriously rich lipsticks iv tested. One swipe of these and your lips are enveloped in rich, luscious creamy color! Super Pigmented, so even if you have very dark lips, these will hide any discolorations,   they are also moisturizing and last for an average amount of 4-5 hours on me. If i had to nitpick i would say that because these are creamy, they dont particularly feel lightweight on the lips, which don’t make them the ideal summer lipstick. But that aside, these are top quality girls!

Recommendation: The Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick 142 is a stunning coral red that really flatters my skintone, and will look great as a bright lipstick on deeper skin tones as well. The Warm, reddish tones really works with indian skin! These lipsticks are incredibly rich and creamy, super pigmented and moisturizing, though not really lightweight!

My Views

I love  blues in my eyeshadow collection but I never really had a real violet/purplish blue color in my stash and the void was filled by Colorbar Eyeshadow in Star Violet. Star Violet to me is a true rich purple  shade which has an inky tone to it and  is  loaded with purple sparkles which go completely subtle on the eye lids. This is the only shade I have from Colorbar Eye Shadow out of 16 odd shades this range has to offer. All this while I have been frantically stocking Inglot eyeshadow refills but these beauties from Colorbar are excellent in quality and affordable in price, definitely worth hoarding.

The texture of Star Violet is silky smooth, comparing it to Inglot refills – if Inglot is 8/10 in texture than these eyeshadows are easily 9/10. Somehow, I find Colorbar eyeshadows a little more soft and smooth to work with. Star Violet melts like butter on the eyes & blends super easily. There was almost no fallout while applying. It is intensely pigmented and it goes opaque with single layer on the eyes. Colorbar’s Star Violet does not need any primer to stay on either.

Packaging wise, again Colorbar Eyeshadows are a step ahead from Inglot refills; with individual packing for shade and an applicator which is not so flimsy to use plus there is a separate storage compartment for applicator! These are more travel friendly and do not require further investment into palettes. Though I want to stay I still love my Inglot eyeshadows for the number of shades & variety of finishes it offers.

Today’s article is about an amazing multi-purpose product. Though I am a shopaholic, I do love investing in multi-purpose products at a good price, well who doesn’t . So let me just quickly tell you why I love this product so much and keep reading to know how it has worked for me.

Ingredients: Helianthus Annus Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii Fruit Butter, Cera Alba, Mentha Piperita Leaf Oil, Aloe Barbandesis Fruit Juice, Limonene Linalool.

What the product says: Protects your skin against dryness! Ultra smooth with Organic ingredients which are both Nourishing and Soothing.

About the packaging: The product comes in a little round, flat tin container which actually gives me an old school or vintage-y feeling because it has been quite a while since I used any product out of such a packaging. Though I quite love the packaging, I do feel I would have loved it more in the form of a chap stick which would have been more hygienic rather than dipping fingers in to it every time. It feels kind of mushy when you touch it …

My Views

I absolutely love what this Figs & Rouge balm does to my lips, it hydrates them and somehow it mysteriously leaves them looking healthy and pink which I just adore. I have also used this on dry areas like elbows and knee caps and the hydrating property of this balm is just awesome.  I cannot explain how much it has healed my cuticles and kept my nails looking shiny and healthy.

The balm is transparent and not sticky at all. Feels very light when applied, it  just sits there on the skin silently doing away its job but never makes you feel as if you have slathered on something heavy.

The only thing that is of concern is, not only does the packaging remind me of the old Vicks vapor rub but also the smell funnily resembles that of some kind of a medicine/balm we use to treat common cold. The smell is not overpowering but lingers around for a while and then fades away.

Once applied, the balm leaves a minty tingling feeling which is explained by the presence of mint in the balm.

PROS:

1.         Very hydrating

2.         Light texture

3.         All natural and organic

4.         Minty and fresh feel it imparts

5.         Leaves the lips and skin feeling soft and supple

6.         Don’t mind the price for the quantity as it is quite multi-tasking.

CONS:

1.         Tub type packaging

2.         Vicks kind of smell, which fades away in a while though.

Recommendation: Trust me!!… You will love what this amazing Figs Rouge Aloe and Mint Balm can do for  rough skin and how healthy this product can make your nails look. Great for chapped lips as well!

It is the season of mangoes right now, and few things compare to the feeling of biting into a luscious juicy mango in India .

But what are your thoughts on a mango butter/cream!!?? This may not  be the right season to tell you all about body butter, But the flavor of the body butter definitely fits into this season.  So, the product of today is The Body Shop Mango Body Butter.

TBS Mango Body Butter is a very very  thick cream that is meant to deeply hydrate your skin. Oily skin people better run away from this. Even normal skin ladies maintain distance. The pack suggests that the body butter is for very dry skin and It is indeed perfect for very dry skin like mine.  As a body cream  it calms the skin down when heavily broken during winter and provides intense nourishment, along with providing a mild, fruity scent.  The cream needs a couple of masaaging stroked to be absorbed into the skin and provides relief to dry, parched skin. I have enjoyed this during the last winter and hope to do it for many more.

Well, I am not comfortable using this in the summers. Though I have dry skin, the creamy texture and the oiliness of the body butter is more than wanted in this summer. The tub form of package has a very tight locking screw cap. The tub is leak free and travel friendly too. I love the fresh mango fragrance. It is mild and very pleasant.

I want to stock this as much as I can though this body butter comes handy only during winters.

Rating: A+

Recommendation:  For  soothing dry, scaley skin and transforming it into soft, moisturized skin during the harsh winter, this is the body butter you have to stock. Dry skin and even very dry skin people, your hunt for a body moisturizer should end here.
