It’s December 1st, it’s December 1st!

*Jumps up and down*

Do you know what this means!?

Me. Totally me.

Christmas! I woke up this morning in a Christmassy mood…
wait.
No. I’m lying. I woke up too early and was super tired and did not want to get out of bed.
What I really mean is, “after drinking my first <del>five</del> cup of coffee for the day, I was in SUCH a Christmassy mood.

It doesn’t help that Pinterest is all, “LOOK AT ALL THIS DIY CHRISTMAS STUFF YOU COULD MAKE!”

Speaking of Pinterest, follow me. Also speaking of Pinterest, I’ve been a huge “I’ll pin this and make it someday” kind of pinner. But ah-ha! Today. For the very first time. I did something that I pinned.

*Crowd cheers*

Yeah. So. Back to that.

A couple months back, I picked up an old picture frame from Goodwill. (Of course, with the intentions of doing something I had pinned.)

I even made this picture super huge for you so you could see the details and my wonderful iPhone photography.
Seriously though, forgive me that all the pictures in this post are from my phone.
Boo.

The frame has just been chilling around the house. Sometimes on the floor, sometimes on the printer, and most recently, tucked away under the desk. I don’t know what got into me at 7 in the morning, but I was like DUDE. I’MMA BREAK OUT THE SAND PAPER AND GO AT THIS BITCH.

Literally.

And I made it into something pretty.

Would you like to know how I did it? I’m sure you could figure it out because it is so ridiculously simple it makes me want to cry, BUT. I will tell you anyway.

Step 1: Buy ugly frame. (Mine was 99 cents.)
Step 2: Let ugly frame sit around your house for a while. (It needs to rest and be ugly.)
Step 3: Sand ugly frame. (I had some sandpaper laying around, so this was free…kinda.)
Step 4: Spray paint ugly frame a pretty color. (I chose white. My spray paint was just sitting around too but the price sticker says $3.97.)
Step 5: Put something pretty in your pretty frame (I chose Christmas Subway Art from this blog. They suggest printing it larger and through a store, but I did it at home and placed it over the ugly picture in the pretty frame. So that was pretty much free too.)

AND VIOLA! YOU HAVE JUST MADE PRETTY!

Are you doing DIY Christmas decorations this year? I am. Save some mooooolaaaaaahhhh! Plus it’s fun and I like to make things pretty, don’t you? Stay tuned for more pretty Christmas things! I’ll also post a picture of the pretty frame in it’s pretty location once there are more pretty things.

MWAH. <3

So I have a wedding to go to today, and I must tell you how hard it is to get dressed lately. Aside from the fact I have a beh-beh who will more than likely poop/pee/spit-up/drool/create-some-sort-of-crazy-mess o me, I also have an eeeety beeety body and some…generously-sized breastfeeding boobs.

AWW, SNAP. WE BE TALKIN’ ‘BOUT DEM BOOBIES.

So all you ladies who are all, “oh wah wah wahhhh I don’t knowwww what to wearrrrrr”? You are lucky. Becaause you don’t have to find all the following in ONE magical dress:

-Must look nice.
-Must have easy access to dem boobies to feed the babe.
-Must not be easily pulled down or off, due to pulling from said babe.
-Must fit. (THIS IS A LOT MORE DIFFICULT THAN YOU THINK, PEOPLE. TINY BODY+BIG BOOBS=NOTHING FITS.)
-Must keep me warm. (This is impossible.)

Since I don’t have a bagillion dollars to go buy a new fancy-pants outfit, I must sacrifice. That means B will probably end up pulling my top down at some point during the night and I will most likely be cold.

And are there any other moms out there that feel like they never have time to shave their legs? My poor legs have been neglected recently. But not my armpits. I always make time for the armpits.

But you bet your little buns I never let THIS happen. Yikes.

So this post was completely random and pointless, but at least you got to see a picture of Julia’s hairy pits. Because you were totally looking for that, weren’t you?

I’m off to try and get ready. 6 hours until we have to leave and with a baby that is pretty much no time at all. Maybe if you’re lucky I’ll post a picture of how crazy gorgeous my family looks tonight.

Peace out, my furry-legged friends.

Let me start off by saying hello! Long time no write! Can I hire someone to remind me to blog? Just someone to send me a friendly reminder. You know, “HEY NICI I ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY LOVE YOUR BLOG AND IT’S BEEN DAYS SINCE YOU’VE POSTED SO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE POST SOMETHING NEW FOR ME TO READ BECAUSE I’M SO ADDICTED AND I’M HAVING WITHDRAAAAWWWWWLS.” That’s really all I’m asking for. And I pay in hugs, so it’s a pretty fantastic deal. To inquire, please email nicoledevon@peasandcoos.com. Remember, hugs. Payment in hugs. And some great blog material.

It’s starting! PeasAndCoos is proud to announce that the weekly giveaways are kicking off RIGHT here and RIGHT now. Aren’t you lucky that you’re here reading this? Every Wednesday I’ll be posting a new review and giveaway. Most of them will probably be cloth diaper related. And WAHMs rock so there will be a lot of giveaways from them. If you’ve got a suggestion of companies/products/WAHMs you’d like to see a review and giveaway of please, please, PLEASE let me know! Again with the email…nicoledevon@peasandcoos.com. Or comment on this. Or Facebook me. OR SOMETHING.

Now that I’ve gotten that nonsense out of the way, let me move on to the real point of this post. SMARTKLEAN. Yeahhh, buddy! Today’s giveaway features a laundry product.

A fancy-schmancy picture to show you what it looks like.

So this thing is a ball for your washing machine. And at first I looked at it and was all, “ummmmm….?” But then I tried it and I have to say it’s pretty nifty! It’s a ball filled with minerals that help the water clean your clothes. That’s what my “um” was all about. No detergent? That’s completely against everything I’ve ever thought about doing laundry! But you know what? It worked. The clothes (and my cloth diapers) came out clean!

If you want to read a little more about the SmartKlean ball, check it out here. You can find out more information on how it works, order one for yourself, or watch a little video about it.

This is the ideal laundry option for <del>lazy</del><del> mo</del><del>ms</del> me because you leave the thing in the washer, and wash your clothes. EEEEEEEasy. Take clothes out, leave ball in, put more clothes in, wash. Amazing! And the other cool part? Supposedly these bad boys last for 365 washes. That could be a year if you do a load a day! (But let’s get real here…is it possible to only do one load a day? Ha! I wish!) Regardless of if it lasts you a year or not, it still lasts a HELL of a lot longer than a bottle of laundry detergent. Another super awesome thing about this ball is it’s free of all that harmful crap you find in just about every other laundry detergent you’d pick up at Wal-Mart. It also leaves no residue, so it’s safe for cloth diapers-HOORAY!

The only downside? No fragrance. Which for some, may be a huge plus. But I personally like smells. For some reason I associate clean with smelling clean. While I know my clothes and diapers are getting clean from this ball, my nose is a little sad.

I’m also slightly convinced that it uses a bit of Harry Potter magic or something to get your clothes clean. Because it does, and it amazes me. Perhaps one of my super-science-genius readers can explain it to me in normal people terms?

What I’ve gathered is minerals+water=magic=clean laundry. Word.

So enter to win one, try it yourself, and fall in love! I definitely am enjoying using this little ball of laundry and think you will too! I’m using Rafflecopter now as well for your giveaway ease and enjoyment. YAY GIVEAWAYS! TIME TO ENTER!

ROCKIN’ GREEN! This stuff is simply fab, and pretty well-known in the cloth diaper laundry detergent world.

I got to try out a few different scents and mmm, mmm, MMM do they smell tasty. I’d have to say my favorite scent is Lavender Mint Revival. I do believe I took my diapers out of the wash, sniffed them, then told DH, “these smell like angels.”

(Yes, he thinks my CD obsession is crazy weird.)

For those of you who haven’t heard of Rockin’ Green before, I guess I have some ‘splainin’ to do.

Rockin’ Green is a cloth diaper detergent that is totally amazeballs. I can’t get over the fact that it’s SCENTED. I’m one of those weird people who associate good smells with clean, so I love these about a thousand and fifteen times more than my scent free detergents.

Not a cloth diaper user? Never fear! There are plenty of other uses for Rockin’ Green! Pee in carpet, mopping the floor, tub and toilet cleaner…if it’s stinky or dirty, I think Rockin’ Green can help! (Well, except your husband…you may have to stick him in the shower. )

So because Rockin’ Green totally ROCKS, they’re giving away a full-size bag of Rockin’ Green detergent to one lucky reader! You choose the scent, you choose the formula!

So I’ve gotta start out by saying how excited I get when something WEIRD happens in my life. The first thought that pops into my head? OMF’nG I HAVE TO BLOG ABOUT THIS.

Not only do weird occurrences excite me, but so does the mail. OHHHMYYYYGODDDD the mail. I have been getting so many packages lately that I’ve been stalking the mailman. Okay…not really. I don’t even know if the mailman is a MAN or not but I do stalk the truck. I’ve been getting diapers, diaper accessories, and all kinds of goodies for reviews! (For those of you who don’t get the hint, that means there are oodles of giveaways coming up for you lovely readers.)

Well the other day, DH goes to check the mail and I’m all, “YAY MAIL!” And he’s like, “holy balls, woman. Calm the eff down.” And then he asks me, “what did you order from China?”

…China?

He hands me a small package that declares it has “TOYS” in it. From China. From some Vivian Fan person. And there are symbols on it that I don’t know how to read or understand and I am simply confused. (BUT STILL EXCITED. MAIL!) So I open this package up and what do I see? Yo-yos. China sent me yo-yos. Two of them. And I have no idea why.

Yo-yos. With fancy-schmancy symbols that I CAN’T.FRICKEN.READ.

Did I mention that there was no explanation included? No receipt, no invoice, no letter, no note, NO NUH-THAN. They also addressed it to me as “Nici” which is strange because I refer to myself as “Nicole” in my emails. AND! How the hell did they get my address. How does this lady in China have an address for me to send her yo-yos to?! I actually get quite a few emails sent to me that are just a bunch of Chinese/Japanese/Something-ese characters, and I mark them as junk and delete them because, again, I CAN’T READ THE SYMBOLS YOU’RE SENDING ME. After I stared at the yo-yos for a bit and thought about them I started worrying that maybe those Chinese symbol emails are legit product review emails or something. I had maybe 4 of them that I hadn’t deleted yet and I plugged them into a translating site.

“Come to some stupid seminar about something stupid. Stupid, stupid, yay.”

That was all they said.

Ummm, sooooo, yeah…? I have two yo-yos and no idea what to do with them. The packaging had a couple different websites on them and I was able to find the yo-yos available for purchase.

Yaaaaay, cheap yo-yos!

And the description?

“Dark Magic Yo Yo is a magic toy, popular with children, and this yo yo is made of stainless steel which can rotate fast and for a long, very durable and fashionable. Kids must love it.”

“Made of wheel stainless steel”…(did they mean real?)

“Many toys can help develop children’s intelligence. Proper toys are good for children’s healthy growth.”

Wow. Just wow. I tried digging into these websites and all I could find was 2 negative reviews that people ordered and never received what they purchased. I also think they have a Facebook page with around 5 “likes”.

I’ve chosen not to disclose the websites because I fear they may be a scam of some sort. I’m not sure, but I don’t want to be the cause of anyone getting tangled into any messes.

Moral of the story? Sometimes, life gives you yo-yos. Let your DH and his friend play with them, write a blog post about it, and love life.

THE END. AWWWW.

OhEmFreakinGee do I have news for you!

*Sing-songy voice* I have a computer, I have a computerrrrr!

There are some really great things about it too! Let me put it into list form so it’s easier for you to read and understand the many great qualities of this computer.

It turns on

It doesn’t turn off if it becomes unplugged

The screen is in one piece

It has a functioning motherboard

EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED IN A COMPUTER!

Tharr she is, in all hurr glory!

Eh hem. Please excuse the minor freak out above, I’ll blame that on…um…PURE FREAKIN’ EXCITEMENT, THAT’S WHAT.

Sorry.
Now, back to our regular scheduled programming.

So hello everyone, it’s great to see you all again. I know I’ve made you promises about blogging before, and totally understand if you don’t want to believe me THIS time. But I’m super, duper, for realzies, 100 thousand bagillion and eleventy seven precent sure that I’m back for good. Nothing can stop me from blogging now! (Well, unless this computer breaks too. Which would be very unfortunate and would add to make a total of FOUR broken computers in my house. Ack.)

I am pretty sure the devil himself came to my home and broke these computers. Because, REALLY. What are the odds of breaking THREE computers in A YEAR. Slim. But apparently I am just awesome like that.

Those of you who actually pay attention may be wondering a few things at this point of the post. Such as:
“WTF is the point of this post?”
Or maybe even:
“Why did she title this post talking about Monday?”

If you’re one of those people asking the first question, I’m sorry. You seem crabby. There is no point to this entire blog so I have a question for YOU. “WTF is the point of you being here if you’re just going to be a Debbie Downer?” (Any of my readers named Debbie? I’ve always wanted to ask, do you get called this often? Are you angered that people associate your name with being a downer? I am so sorry you have to deal with people using your name in such a way. Please don’t hate me.)

If you’re asking the second question, YAY GOLD STAR. Yours truly (that means me, duh.) is going to be “The Monday Girl” for the website WhyClothDiaper. I’ll be sharing my thoughts and findings all about cloth diapers over there every Monday, so you better check it out!

Oh dear, I am sorry. That was rather demanding of me. I kindly ask that you please view the things I write if and when it is most convenient for you. Better? Good. Today we’re working on our manners, boys and girls.

Enjoy your Fridays everyone! Eat something delicious and keep reading PeasAndCoos!

Changing the toilet paper roll – Oh. My. God. It amazes me just how impossible this really is for men. Why is this so complicated? And why is it that they will use the last bit of toilet paper on the current roll, go into the cabinet underneath the sink to grab a new roll, use more, and then set it on the freaking counter right above the toilet paper roll. It’s so close. And you’ve already done more than half the work. So what’s with not putting it on the roll? Please, if there are any men reading this, can you tell me? I fear that if I were to die in some tragic, freak accident tomorrow…Phil would not understand or be able to replace rolls of toilet paper. Poor Phil. And WTF do bachelors do? Have oodles upon oodles of empty tp rolls scattered about the bathroom? Nevermind. I don’t care.
-

Crafting – STORY TIME! So there I was sitting on the couch. Pregnant, bored, and crafting. You know…the usual. Phil was sitting next to me and offered to help me with my craft. I know, I know. Crazytalk right? I was shocked too. So I told him he could help me by cutting this and stretching that then looping the other thing. The craziest part? He did. And then, with the saddest, most pathetic look I have EVER seen in my life he turns to me and says, “Baby…I really hate this.” But OMGHOLYSHITPROPS to him for trying. That’s love, behbeh.
-

Caring about your purchases/bargains – So maybe I’m just totally weird but I’m pretty sure that every woman out there (especially my fellow bargain-hunters. Target clearance? Helloooooooo Heaven!) gets excited about purchases and wants to show them off. So we shop, we come home, and then comes the question. “Wanna seeeeeee what I gaaaaahhhhht loverschnookumhoneybuns?” That’s when the men know they’re doomed. “Yes, dear.” And then we pull each and every little thing out of the bags and proudly proclaim how we “just stumbled upon this” and “only paid (insert low price here)” for it. But really? It’s against some law, somewhere that men cannot care about these kinds of things. Psst! Men? Don’t think we don’t see your eyes sneaking off in the opposite direction towards the TV. Because we do.
-

Putting the toilet seat down – This is actually one thing my man is semi-capable of doing. And I love him for it. But I know that most men are reallyreallysuperbad at this. I’ve heard the argument. I’m sure we all have. “It’s not that hard for YOU to put it down, is it?” Says the man. “No. I suppose it isn’t. So since it’s so easy, why don’t you do it?” Says the clever woman. HA. The. End.
-

Understanding “woman speak” - You men have all heard it. When she says no but really means yes. Or when you ask what’s wrong and she replies “nothing”. You men know but you’ll never understand. And honestly? I don’t know why we do it. Because WE know you don’t understand and we still expect you to. Weird creatures, us women.
-

Holding a conversation while playing video games – There you are, shooting up some zombies, swearing at them because, dangit! They ruined your nice window that you just repaired with the fanciest, most decorative boards. Stupid zoms, can’t they just go through the door? Anywhoodles. Wifey has a question for you. Do you pause the game? OH. HELL. NAW. There’s some guy-rule that says “thou shall not pause video games for thine wife”. Instead of pausing, you try to converse with us while you’re still knifing those bitches. “Yeah?” You ask, with your eyes wide and glued to the TV. We ask the question, and I’m pretty sure you don’t hear. But you nod. Or say yes. And when we ask, “Now what did I just say to you?” You try to repeat the one word you heard which seems the most important. Gah. Just hit the start button and get the quick conversation over with. But that would require *gasp* LISTENING TO US. *Dun dun dunnnnnnnnn*
-

Putting laundry in the laundry basket - The basket is RIGHT. FREAKING. NEXT TO YOU. You change your clothes. And what do you do with them? Put them on the floor. Next to the laundry basket. Why? This is quite similar to the toilet paper roll dilemma. What is so much harder about putting it into a basket!? Again, my simple mind just doesn’t understand.
-

Multitasking – Guys just suck at this, end of story. Women rock.

Answering phones/returning texts – This is one of those depends on the guy and depends on the situation. But my guy is sometimes rather awful at this. “Sorry baby, my phone was in the utensil drawer!” I’m sure you’ve all heard that excuse a time or two…no? Just me? Oh..
-

Cloth diapering – I’ve seen pictures of some men changing cloth diapers. ARE THEY REAL? DID SOMEONE PHOTOSHOP THEM? I demand to know the secret behind this crazy idea that some men cloth diaper. My hubs? Terrified of the things. I laugh when companies refer to their dipes as “daddy friendly”. IMO, no diaper is “daddy friendly”. Potty trained children are “daddy friendly”. Please refer to my drawing below for an explanation in mathematical terms.

Dads+Poopy Diapers=NO

So now that you’ve read 10 stupid/random things from me, comment and tell me about you. What is your man incapable of doing?

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

This giveaway is now closed and comments are disabled.

I started buying cloth diapers when I was pregnant with little B, but I never knew I’d become SO. ADDICTED.

My wee little stash. And yes, this is the most organized
place in my entire home.

I love them. Cute prints, big butts. Lovelovelove. And you know what else? Doing diaper laundry is exciting to me. First time you’ve ever heard the words “laundry” and “exciting” in the same sentence? It’s okay, I’ll give you a second to process this.

…

SO.

I’ve got quite the little stash coming along. I only started using cloth diapers full time when B was about 10 weeks. I didn’t like the way they fit her before that, and quite frankly I was caught up in other things. (Like having a newborn, duh.) My current stash consists of a couple BGs, an HH, Thirsties and Bummis covers, prefolds, a Kawaii, and 4 diapers from the WAHM, Rumpkinz.

O.M.F’n.G.RUMPKINZ.

I became a tester for her fitteds and fell. in. love. So I bought 2 of her “seconds” pocket diapers. You really can’t even tell they’re “seconds”! Her diapers are FANTASTIC. Then I organized an event for The Big Latch On…so of course Blakelyn needed a Rumpkinz diaper with the breastfeeding logo on the butt! I love that I’m supporting a WAHM when I buy dipes from her and I really can’t tell you how amazing the quality is. She makes other things too! Wipes, unpaper towels, wet bags, you name it-she’ll probably embroider it! She offers a ton of deals on her facebook page so I definitely suggest you go take a looksie. (I also suggest you “like” the photo of my daughter on her page to vote for her so I can get half off a custom diaper. But that’s just my suggestion )

PLUS! Yours truly is doing a…*drumroll*…GIVEAWAY!!!! (This is the part where you cheer and clap.)

I’m providing one lucky reader with a FREE custom cloth diaper ($28 value) from Rumpkinz! Because I love you all so much, and I love her diapers too!

So how do you win?

DUDE.

How do I even remember how to work a computer and edit my site?

It’s been a nasty (almost) 4 months without a working computer. And I’m not ashamed to admit, I’m a technology whore.

I’ve missed you all so so so much. I had SUCH big plans going for my site. I was in the process of creating an Etsy shop, had giveaways/reviews in the works, made my first wee little chunk ‘o change from this here bloggy-poo, and so much more. But you know…sometimes the motherboard on your Mac gets fried and the screen on your PC shatters and you LOSE your desktop. Can anyone figure that one out for me? Leave it to the queen of losing things (aka: ME.) to lose a freaking desktop computer.

Note to self: Never move a bagillion times in a short period of time ever again.

So I know you’re all just ITCHING to know if I have a computer again. Nope. Nada. Zilch. …ziltch? Zilch. Whatever. No. And now the word “zilch” has turned into one of those words you think about too hard and it loses it’s meaning. KWIM? No? Darn.

On the PeasAndCoos Facebook Page I told ya’ll I’d give you a quickie. Hey now, don’t be nasty. I mean a quick UPDATE, geesh.

Kay. Here it goes…

Had a baby. May 12th. She’s super cute and her name is Blakelyn. She’s my world. Except when she’s crabby…then she can go ahead and be her daddy’s world.

Got married. Because what else do people do after they have a baby?

Established an awesome nursing relationship with my daughter. She. Eats. A. Ton.

Traveled from WI to CA by plane to visit family…with a 2 month old.

Started cloth diapering. (Except when I’m out with behbeh running errands. Not brave enough to CD on the go…yet.)

Turned into a babywearin’ mama. Made a “Moby” for about $3 and LOOOOVE it. Must make more babywearing accessories.

Got down with my crunchy self. Who knew I had it in me? Not me, that’s for sure.

Started organizing an event for The Big Latch On to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week and participate in trying to set a record for most women breastfeeding simultaneously. It’s coming up this Saturday! If you’re interested in participating and live in SE WI, let me know!

Went to the eye doctor yesterday. But really?…who cares. They did dilate the shit out of my eyes though. Driving home was fun.

I think that’s it. Blog time is over because I have a fussing baby who wants my boob in the other room. Ahhh the joys of being a mom.

I don’t know when I’ll be back, my dear PeasAndCoos friends. For a new motherboard is at least $800, and a new computer is expensive as well. Know that I’ll be thinking and dreaming of you all and I will try my best to keep up with the PeasAndCoos FB page on my phone. So leave me love there. Because I like that.

Tah-tah, dolls. And sorry for the lack of pictures. You’ll get a ton of them when I’m back for good though. Promise.
