As I have mentioned before, we are not going to move out of this house soon. I was relieved that hubby agreed to me. Moving is very stressful for me. In fact, to lessen the stress, I already started packing two months ago. Imagine, all the things you need to do when you are moving to another place (worse if you are moving to another country). Our Nipa Hut

Before I gave you more updates regarding the contest, let me share with you some of my fondest memories with regards to roof. Why roof? Oh well, blame it to heat. it reminds us our home back int eh province. Our house then was made a Nipa Hut. Yup, I experienced living in a Nipa Hut. Our roofing was made out of grass, and my mother sometimes hire professional roofing contractor to repair it. She says, it is very important that our roof was checked and repaired. Since our roof were made out of grass, proper installations should be done with much care. Only professionals can do that.

Roof is one of the most important part of the house. Think of it as the crowning glory of a structure. It adds up to the beauty of the house and also protects the house from heat and rain. So why would you compromise your security blanket? Why not hire a professional roofing contractor for your roofing repairs? You can be assured that the quality of service is good and that your roof is in good hands.

Our roof then lasted a little longer although it was made out of grass, the professional roofing contractors did a good job on repairing the roof. When time comes and I have my own house, I will surely put a nipa house on my garden.

Now that the contest is about to end, you're in for another surprise! We are gonna change the referral system. Now, you can GAIN points for your referrals. Every referral is 50 points! Refer 5 contestants and you will gain 400 points (yes not 250 but 400!)

So? Tell your friends to join the contest and tell them to mention you as their referral. Joining the contest is now easy as pie, er, no, easier than that. See?

We found out that offering cash as incentive didn't really motivate our contestants into referring, but when we announced the points incentive, several people immediately came forward to say their referral was this blogger and that. I hope you get our logic for changing the rules late in the game. As always, our only motive behind the referral system is to get as much backlinks as possible for our lovely sponsors, so whatever brings in additional contestants, we will implement.

I never thought that my boys would question my overspending on Sati's wardrobe. My eldest asked why is it that Sati have more clothes than them. Uh oh, now I feel guilty of not buying clothes for them. I thought they would not like clothes and would appreciate toys more. Oh boy, I was wrong. If only finding clothes for boys is as easy as finding Philadelphia jobs, I wouldn't have a problem. The thing is, clothes for boys are more expensive than clothes for girl. And I have three boys! Just imagine how much I need just to buy clothes for my boys.

So I guess, I have to troop down the nearest mall and look for affordable boys clothes. Or maybe just search on local online shops. I do hope they accept paypal as a form of payment.

FT Island Invasion

Ah no, I am not a fan but I have been hearing a lot about them. My best bud is a fan girl, that's why. She even revived her blog just so she can share her photos and adventures/misadventure to Fandom. Would you believe that she even went to the airport just to see the band? I wouldn't be shocked if she even knew what kind of fat burner for men her band uses. I am pretty sure if I am not married and I don't have kids, I would tag along with her. She has been my partner in numerous crimes LOL. Anyways, I got some of her pics from FT Island concert.

I suddenly missed our misadventures and escapades. Good thing that this coming May, we are set for another misadventure. I can't wait!

Goodies

The box that came here yesterday came from the US. My sister's mother in law was very kind to accommodate our items and have it shipped here. She even gave me some goodies (photo below). And some walnut for my sister. Last year, she even included a phone for her son (my sister's hubby). During the height of the flood, we thought we could use the phone. Apparently, the phone is not an unlocked phone. It is locked to the phone's provider. That is the difference between a locked phone and an unlocked phone. An unlocked phone can still be used with various carriers.

That's the goodies she sent for me. She says it was her Christmas gift for me (how sweet!). Hubby enjoyed the walnut the most.

The box that I have been waiting for has finally arrived! It's here! So yesterday my head aches like crazy and yeah I almost gone crazy because of it. I was sleeping when hubby woke me up. The box that was shipped last Feb is waiting for me downstairs.

Actually the box is not full of her clothes. More like, it's a box of Mega Bloks Building Bloks for the boys. Those Mega Bloks that I bid and bought in ebay. It also contains some goodies for my mom's business and of course Sati's clothes. We were all excited to try out her clothes. I will post more soon!

Market Trip

Yesterday, since, our Divisoria plans did not pushed through, we just went to Pasig Market (one of the biggest wet market in Metro Manila, next to Balintawak). I love going there on Saturdays. Every Saturday, they open the third floor of the market. On this floor, you can find goodies such as baby clothes, overruns and even stylish bed sheets and curtains, all in cheap prices. You can even find diet supplement there. I even saw some bags and action figures there. I thought I will buy another dress for the princess, good thing we did not found any.

On our way home, my head ache worsen. I almost threw up inside the car. It was the heat and too much crowd. So instead of making embotido for Mico's birthday, I just went to sleep the whole afternoon and even forgot about my scheduled post for Saturday. What's wrong with our climate? the heat is killing me!

It's Not RA

And though we planned to go shopping today, it did not push thru. Hubby woke up so late and my head hurts. Aside from that, I am also experiencing muscle pain, can this be rheumatism? Will I need a rheumatoid arthritis treatment soon? I have been experiencing this leg muscle pain for a while now, so I guess it's about time that I research about about it.

Rheumatism (thanks my doctor) is actually a general term for problems that affects the joins and connective tissues. Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic disorder that may affect tissues but it is concentrated on joints. It causes damage tot he cartilage, thus some person who have severe RA (rheumatoid arthritis) have deformed hands. Obviuosly, what I was expereincing is not RA. Most likely it is just over fatigue or just simple muscle cramps.

Sissy Slow

My sis is not done yet! Argh! What's taking her long? She's in the bathroom for an hour now and she not done yet. To think she was the one who is excited to go shopping with me today. She said she will look for best weight loss pills in Divisoria. For all of you who have never been there, it's the land of everything. From party needs to clothes to gowns, you can find it there and all in cheap prices. As I have said, the reason why we are going there today is to buy goodies for loot bags.

Anyways, sissy badly needs to lose weight. It's almost summer here! She cannot do my no rice intake diet so she will have to take other alternatives.

Oh I can hear she is done taking a bath now. Gotta go and wake my hubby up. Off we go to Lalalasale land.LOL

Mega Blocs Again

So while I was drafting my next post, waiting for my sissy, I browsed around town (I am a multitasker) and saw that there are hundred or more Mega Bloks available on ebay. Just when I said I will stopped shopping online (for now, because I am saving up for my Flip). Now I torn if I will have a Flip, Sati's clothes or Mega Bloks for the boys. Ever since I find a job on the net and I started earning some money, I am always having this dilemma, should I buy stuffs for them first or buy for me? And as always, I ended buying stuff for them and putting my wants into hold.

But how can I not when my boys seem to really enjoy playing with Mega Bloks. See the photo above, that's one of their biggest toy from Mega Bloks. It is the only toy that they can't get enough of, they play it everyday. They play it on mornings, they play it on afternoons and they even play it before they sleep. Their creativity and imagination are stretched. Sometimes they would build ship, sometimes they would build buildings. So without much thinking, I hit the bid button again! waaah

While I am waiting for Sissy to finish her bathing routine and while I wait for the hubby to wake up, let me first squeeze in all the post I need to do today. I am still done with my Mommy Moments and other memes. I am saving that up for later.

More On Reverse Mortgage

Most of you may wonder why I am talking about reverse mortgage here in my blog. A lot of you thinks it is not related to being a mommy and being a stay at home mom. It may not have a direct impact on our lives but I was thinking of our future. It may be too early but I am now researching on how me and my partner's life will be a lot easier when we grow older. I have no plans on asking money or support from my kids. I believe that our kids should never have the burden of taking care of us when we got older. We are the one responsible for taking good care of them.

Looking for options are a good way to show your kids that you will be dependent on them. I can see that reverse mortgage is a good option for senior citizens. I am really studying it hard, knowing the reverse mortgage pros and cons. I have to make sure if it would really fit us and if it is available in our country. If it is available here, I have a good feeling that this one will solve our senior years needs. I have been asking my mother if she have some reverse mortgage information or if she knew someone who can discuss it to me. Mom is the one who is into this kind of world, insurance, mortgage, real estates and the likes.

I am really firm in my belief that I should be the one taking care of myself when I got older. Sam (one my online buddy) shares the same belief. I am glad that my mother believes that too. She always say to us that we are not responsible for her. But of course, even if she say that, we still help her (in fact half of my income from January to March were give to her).

Busy Days

I have busy days ahead of me, oh no, I got busy weeks ahead of me. Second born will be turning 5 this March 15 and I am not finished planning and shopping yet. Today, me and sissy will sneak to the barat haven of the country, Divisoria! I need to buy some stuff for their loot bags and decors for his cake. I don't bake cake but we love to deconstruct it and make it the way we want it to be. I usually buy a plain chocolate cake and arrange stuff over it.

See the cakes above? We bought it plain and designed it with the birthday's theme. The birthday boy wants a Spongebob theme on his birthday so we're off to buy Spongebob! Aside from the birthday, tomorrow is laundry day, and then Monday will be Sati's 4th month bday and then Tuesday onwards is preparation time for the party which will happen on Monday. So from now until March 15, I may not be available but I will still be blogging.

Online Shopping and Shipping

I love online shopping. Since I started earning online, most of my income goes to shopping. I frequent bidding online stores, I frequent children's clothes stores, I even visit hardware stores. I enjoy looking through sites and finding the best bargain. I enjoy shopping for my kids the most. Like last year, I spend a hundred dollars for Sati's clothes, good thing I found some coupon codes, I paid less because of the discount. I really can't resist when ever I see something that I know will look good on my only princess. Hubby says I have been spending too much for our girl.

I must admit, I am really spoiling the little girl. Aside from the clothes I shopped last year (and none of them fits now), we are also waiting for a box from the US, a box full of her clothes, yes, her clothes again. I bought it on the same store and I was sad that I can no longer avail their discount promo codes, where in I can get as much as $10 off on my purchase. The site says, I can only use it once. I am a bit disappointed but still, that did not stop me from buying more clothes for her. We had it shipped last February 3 and have to wait for 4 to 6 weeks before we can see our purchase. That is how I managed to maximize discount codes that I found on online stores. I would buy items and apply the coupons and have it shipped on a relative in California. Then I would wait for more sales and discounts until the package box is full. When the box is full, the relative will call the courier service and have it shipped here.

We have been practicing that for almost two years now. The box that I am waiting will be our third since we started it and I hope it would take 3 to 6 months more before we begin our online shopping hobby. I have to stop buying more Sati's clothes.

Cooking is a hobby that my family loves. I grew up in my grandmother's kitchen. She is a great cook and so is my mother. Although their cooking skills is not as great as those who studied cooking classes Los Angeles, theirs is really exceptional (for our family). My mother specially knows how to make a good dish out of simple ingredients. I missed her dishes, specially on days like these.

When I started out my cooking career, I was never good. In fact, I once told myself I will not prepare dishes like Menudo and Kare Kare because it was tedious. I have no confidence in my cooking skill. Later on, dishes by dishes, I learned. I know enjoy cooking and feeding my family with sumptuous dishes. And though I said I will never cook Kare Kare, this has been our weekend dish ever since I learned how to prepare it.

And you think I will stop there? Oh no, I still want to learn more, I want to enroll in a private cooking class and learn how to prepare luxurious meals and foreign dishes. I want to serve my kids (when they are older) a complete course meal. I want them to experience fine dining at the comfort of our home. I can just imagine how fun it would be, serving them hors d'oeuvres, main entree, side dishes and dessert.A friend told me that cooking classes LA offers this kind of course. I would love to enroll on one of those cooking class. It can be good therapy for me too.

I am feeling a bit OK now so expect a lot of articles from me and more update on our contest too. I will tell later why I was don, for now, I gotta go and put on my apron, here comes Chef Pehpot!

Her Pick Up

The weather here makes me wanna go to the nearest beach. It's so hot! We badly need a summer vacation. And because of the hot weather, I am so lazy to blog. I have been neglecting my blogs. I am not updating, well, except for contest updates, if that's an article to you.

Anyways, I have summer plan for my family. I am thinking of a beach getaway in May. We have three celebrants on May, hubby, Chico (who shares the same day as my Marce Seiko) and my nephew Dylan. So, I was thinking, it would be a good reason to spend a weekend at the beach. If I can choose what kind of vehicle we can bring (given that I have lots of vehicle), I would choose a van and a pick up with bakflip tonneau cover. You see, my mother likes to stop and buy stuffs on the road. I remember when we were younger, our usual travel includes ten stops. A stop to check out the furniture shop along the road, a stop to check out the food shops, souvenir shops and even fruit stalls. That is why a pick up would be very ideal for her and the cover to protect her goodies.

If my memory serves me right, she dreamed of owning a pick up one day (and if I win the lottery, I would buy her more than one). I would give her one with protection like mud flaps, for sure she would take the big toy on her mountain adventures. The mud flaps will protect the the pick up from splashing mud from the wheel. Another great gear to protect the truck is a hood shield. I can just imagine her happiness if ever that would come true. For now, I can only dream big for her or maybe I should start my luck by going to the nearest lottery outlet?
