The 2011 - 2012 dance year is HERE! Download the 2011-2012 Dance Packet, which contains the dance class schedule, information on fees, and the registration form.

Fall 2011 Dance Registration

Monday August 8th
4pm - 7pm

Two Ways to Register
You can either print off the registration form, fill it out and mail it in to the Pelion studio or bring it in with you to the studio during the registration day which will take place Monday August 8th. Copies of the registration form will be available at the studio if needed.

Don't forget about what's going on this summer!

It's that time again! Summer is on it's way and around here, we like to keep on DANCING! The Pelion School of Dance has just completed their third dance season! Students represent not only Pelion, but Gaston, West Columbia, Wagener, Leesville, Swansea, North, Gilbert, Salley, and Lexington!

Our Summer Schedule begins June 13th and Fall schedule August 22nd, 2011!

Summer Schedule 2011

$65 - 6 Lessons per session (2x's per week)

Tuesday and Thursday

First Week of Dance/ Dancewear Kits!

This week begins our first official week of dance! It's not too late to register, so please let us know if you are interested in taking dance! Let us know if you have any questions!

If you ordered a dancewear kit, then they are ready for pick up at the studio! You can come by anytime Wednesday from 4 - 7 pm to pick it up from the studio! The kits will be ready at your child's first day of class if you do not get them before!

We are also taking orders now for other dancewear item needs, so please let us know if your child needs any shoes, etc.

Pelion Peanut Party Parade

The Pelion School of Dance will have a parade in the Pelion Peanut Party this year! Your dancer is welcome to ride on our float!

Who: Pelion School of Dance Students
What: Ride in the Peanut Party Parade
When: Saturday, August 14th (Arrive by 9:00 am, Parade begins at 10:00 am sharp!)
Where: Pelion Middle School Bus Parking Lot on Mulberry Street
Wear: "Let the Beat Rock" Recital T-shirt OR a dance costume of your choice!
Bring: Candy to pass out!
Other: Parade will end at HWY 302 & Lydia Street. Children will remain on float until parent picks them up!

Starting THIS THURSDAY, July 15, you can begin registering for Fall 2010 Dance!

Registration will be this Thursday, as well as next Tuesday (July 20) and Thursday (July 22) from 4pm - 7pm at the Pelion Dance Studio. There will be a $25 Registration Fee, one per family.

Also, the 2010 Let the Beat Rock Dance Recital DVDs will be available for pick up STARTING this THURSDAY during registration times! So if you ordered a DVD, starting this Thursday, please come by the studio during registration times to pick it up!

Happy 4th of July! Come out to the Peach Festival today and show your support for America and the Gilbert Studio of Dance Arts! You'll be able to find the Gilbert Studio of Dance Arts on a float in the parade, as well as performing some numbers on the stage!

Upcoming Events and Other Important Information

Studio Closed
The studio will be closed on the following dates: Good Friday (April 2nd) and Spring Break (5th - 9th). Classes will resume on Monday, April 12th.

Costumes
ALL outstanding balances are due. Costumes will not be distributed if you have a past due tuition or costume balance.

Pictures
Pictures have been scheduled for Thursday, May 6th at the studio. Times TBA.

Recital Fee Due By April 15th
A $40/family recital fee is due April 15th. This includes unlimited guests and trophy.

Rehearsal
Rehearsal for the 2010 recital will be Friday, May 21st at the B&L Fine Arts Center. Times TBA.

Recital
The 2010 recital will be Saturday, May 22nd at B&L Fine Arts Center. Times TBA.

This Saturday, August 8th, is the 2009 Pelion Peanut Party! Come be in the parade with us and ride our Pelion School of Dance Float!!!

Wear your pink "Get Up and Dance" recital shirt, or your recital costume.

Bring candy to throw out to people!

Meet Miss Nelle at 8:30 a.m. at the corner of the Baptist church across from the Smoak House restaurant (4th Street and 178).

The Parents Parade will end at Lydia and Magnolia. The children will stay with Miss Nelle until their parents pick them up. Please stay in contact with Miss Nelle!

We are excited to begin dancing once again! Classes offered are in tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, pom pon, clogging and lyrical. Combination classes are available. Ages 2 1/2 to adult are welcomed.

Photos and Videos Needed

We would love to add photos and videos to our website. But in order to do that, we need your help! So if you have photos or videos from recitals, dance camps, classes, or anything else, please email them to siteadministrator@pelionschoolofdance.com.

What to include in the email:

The photographer or videographers name so that we can give them the recognition they deserve.
What event it is from (i.e., recital, competition, class, dance camp, etc). If there was a name for the event, include that as well (i.e., "Get Up and Dance" dance recital).
The date, or at least year, photos or videos were taken.

Please Note:

Photographs on our site can be downloaded by anyone. Therefore, if you do not wish to make your photos available for free, do not email them to us.
Videos are posted to YouTube, and therefore, are not available for download. Please make sure videos are no bigger than 10 minutes and 1 GB.

Volunteers for the "Get Up and Dance" Recital Needed!

Volunteers are needed to help with the rehearsals and the recital! A sign up sheet has been posted at the studio.

Please Note: We do NOT go back and forth during the recital. If you are assigned duties backstage, then you must stay back stage for the whole recital. However, you will have the opportunity to watch your child from the side of the stage. Being backstage is FUN and a show all in itself!
