This is one of the 3 ponds near a campsite.

A visit to Dead Horse Ranch in Cottonwood. Just a 2-hour drive north of Phoenix. A peaceful. quiet and pretty laid back place' There are lots of camping sites around the area. Trailer camps of various shapes and sizes fills the streets and camping grounds.

To really enjoy the place you have to go seek the hidden paths to see and discover the beauty of it.

If you’re into hiking you’ll surely enjoy this place. There’s about 10 miles of hiking trails. You could also go fishing. The lagoons are being stocked with fish every other week. So, even if you’re a newbie you’ll surely catch some good ones.

It was late October so, temperature is perfect during the day but at nighttime it’s like 40 degrees outside. So, if you're bringing a tent at this time of the year, just be ready for a very cold night. Good news is, there are log cabins that you could rent for very reasonable rates.

After an enjoyable day of hiking and fishing and strolling around
you are now ready to cook your fish.

After a nice dinner, It’s time to enjoy your blankets and sleep
the night away with a smile on your
face.

Aaahhh… life.

River Rocks

In the old days, there was this thing called "panghilod" (body scrubber) in Filipino in which they pick a selected river rock and use it as a body scrubber. It was because of the early Filipinos usually goes to the river to wash and they found these rocks useful to wash away farm dirts on their body. It's always available by the river it's just a matter of finding a good one. Now, these rocks are widely used for spa treatments.

If you are visiting Arizona, and Grand Canyon is one of the places in your itinerary, you might as well or should visit Sedona too. You'll surely love the the red rock mountains. The desert landscape is the best in the southwest.

8 Waves Waterpark

I don't get to visit my family back in the Philippines so often. So, every time I visit, I always try to make the best of it. The number of water parks and resorts have grown significantly through the years. This is because of continuous flow of Filipinos living abroad visiting the country. And Filipinos loves the water. Thanks to high humidity.

I was online looking for a private resort or water park and I was surprised, there's so many of them. And the ones that I liked are either not available or is a little expensive.

So, I just asked my sister. She suggested we go try this water park in San Rafael Bulacan which is about an hour drive north of Manila.
It was around August so, season is over. It's cloudy that day. I went to the cashier and they told us that we can use the water park but there won't be any water features... (bummer).

Since we're already there we just went in and enjoyed the place. Guess what? We are the only people the whole day! So, it's like we rented the whole place for that day.

We still enjoyed the park even without the water features. The place is clean. Water is crystal clear. Though I still prefer to see the waves, the falls etc. Still, was a great experience bonded with my family, my dad and my sister and her family.

Words of Wisdom

We're late to church today as I have to pick up wifey from work. When I got near the the door I could hear a different voice preaching. When I got to my seat i quickly read the program and checked the name of the preacher. He was Pastor Diodor Garcia from New Jersey, our guest speaker. His english is so good especially with his accent so I was surprised when he spoke in filipino.

Very blessed with his preachings. He discussed about God's unconditional love for us no matter what our circumstances in life. Looking forward and not dwelling in the past.

One thing I learned through the years and also hearing from pastors and speakers is not to focus on the person preaching but focus on the word of God. Pastors and preachers have different styles or ways of sharing the word of God. So, I always try to focus on the words and not the preacher.

Can't help, but noticed that Pastor Diodor Garcia is so blessed and a gifted speaker. There's a lot of things that he mentioned which is true and motivates you to keep coming to Christ whatever your circumstances are. Some points that I picked up and noted are:

1. "You don't worship God for who you are but, you worship Him for who He is."
2. "The best kept secret of being a christian is... coming to Him."
3. "Worship is not about emotions or feelings."
4. "Pour out your troubles to the Lord not to the person beside you"

There's more inspirational words that he shared. It's one of those Sundays that you felt like you don't want the preachings to end. It was really a very blessed Sunday.

Now the challenge is applying those words into my daily life.
