30 Ways To Save Gas

In fact at one point I was totally unaware these departments even existed until one day I called to cancel my cable services and the representative i was speaking to told me to hold on a minute so she could tranfer me to another department which might be able to assist me.

When my call reached this department some guy told me about a six month  package they were offering that would allow me to reduce my bill which would amount to a savings of about $40 off my cable bill. Best of all….I would still get to keep the same package I had but for a lower price.

Since then I have used this technique of calling creditors, the phone company, cell phone company, and any other company costing me money to inquire whether they have a customer retention department. You will be suprised at how many do. It’s amazing what type of discounts you can get if you’ll just open your mouth and ask.

The first company I contacted offered to reduce my interest rate from 21% to 6% for a period of 6 months. After asking, I found out that they even allow you to call back at the end of that period and ask them for another 6 month extension. When I called back, they of course gave me another extension.

The second credit card company offered to reduce my interest rate from 21% down to 12% for 6 months. Before jumping on their first offer I told the representative that times were really bad and asked her if she could do better. I didn’t expect much but when she came back to the phone she told me that she could reduce the interest rate for 12 months instead of six months. At that point i figured, why not see how low they would really go.

Once again I thanked her and reminded her how tough times were and asked her how much better she could do for me. Boy was I really pushing it but suprisingly when she came back to the phone she informed me that there was a program which would reduce my interest rate down to 6% for the remainder of the loan. The only catch was that I had to agree to cancel my credit card. I took the deal since my goal at the time was to eliminate all of my credit card debt anyway

Just by ASKING for a discount, I was able to save myself a ton of money in interest payments and so can you. Good luck.
