Tri-Shutter Wedding Card Featuring Tilda And Edwin

The following card is another tri-shutter card. These are so much fun to make, even if they are lots of work! I made this one for my boss who's brother is getting married. I thought, "Yes! Perfect!! I can use my new Magnolia Wedding stamps!! Woo-hooo!!!" I love this collection! You can find the stamp I used, Loving Bridal Couple at the Magnolia-licious shop. I colored this lovely couple using my new Tim Holtz Distress Inks that I bought on ebay. I decorated the card with odds and ends I found in my wedding drawer. Some doves and ribbons that I bought from Michael's. The silver wedding bells and rings from a scrapbooking packet I bought from abcdistributing. The DP is from the black and white alpha pack from DCWV. I love that packet. The white flowers my friend Pammy got for me from Michael's and the silver heart stickers are from a wedding pack. Finally I used my Ranger Glossy Accents which I bought at Michael's but you can also get at Amazon. Overall, this is one of my favorite cards!

Tri-Shutter Card For A Baby Girl

Okay this is my last entry for today. This is another Tri-Shutter card. I made this for my friend Jessica from high school who just had a baby. Her name's Patricia Rose and she's such a cutie! I wanted to go with the Princess and storybook theme. The DP is from DCWV's Fairytale stack. The butterflies and ballerina dress are from a 3-D sticker set I have. And the sequined stars are some embellies my mom saw at Jo-Ann's and asked me to get. At first I didn't like them but now I'm glad I bought them because they fit right in with the color scheme. Enjoy!

Tri-Shutter Card For A Baby Boy

Here's another Tri-shutter card. Now that I know how to make them they're ALL I want to make!! I will try other templates though. I want to try the Ladder template and I want to try the Round, square, and heart easel cards. After my mom saw my co-worker's card she asked me to make a tri-shutter card for her boss who just had a baby boy. So currently I've inked up a bunch of my Magnolia stamps and am in the process of coloring them. Expect to see Maggies on my next cards!!

Tri-Shutter Sympathy Card

Here's another Sympathy card I made a few weeks ago. This one was for my co-worker who's dear mother passed away. I knew I wanted to make a nice card but I didn't want to make the same 'ole same 'ole folded card. So I looked at all the templates I had and thought this would be perfect. This is a tri-shutter card. I actually followed the directions in an issue of Cardmaker which made making this super easy. It took about 3 hours, what with the cutting and figuring out what I wanted to put on it. In the end I think it came out beautifully :) I brought it into work the next day and since my boss hadn't gotten a card yet I told her we could all sign my card so we did!

A Sympathy Card

Hi everyone, sorry I've been away! I've been busy working and helping my dad remodel the house. I've made a few cards here and there. I wasn't able to make any for Mother's Day and probably won't make any for Father's Day since I don't want to make my mom feel bad by giving one to my dad. However, there have been a few occasions where I was asked/ felt like making some. Below you'll find a sympathy card I made for my mom. She asked me to make one for her co-worker. I made this one pretty fast. Used different types of DP and added the vase and flowers with the butterfly. CARD 500

Two Final Easter Cards

I made a new Easter card. This is my first time making a tri-fold card. I used my Hello Tilda stamp which you can purchase from Diana's store here. Overall, this is definitely a new favorite. I also liked decorating the three interior panels of this card. Hope you enjoy!

Chicken Tilda Postcard...

Instead of making a card I decided to make a postcard with this Tilda. You can buy her from Diana's store. I colored her in using Martha Stewart markers, Prismacolor Markers, and chalk. The grass is die cut using my Cricut machine and the Easter Seasonal 2010 cartridge. I also got to use my nestabilities for the first time! Yay! CARD 496

Magnolia Easter Cards

Here are my first Magnolia Easter cards!!! You can buy these stamps over at Diana's store. This one is Hello Tilda. I outlined her with my Martha Stewart markers, colored her in with my chalks and her hair is colored with Prismacolor markers. I also added some glossy accents to the flowers and some of the DP. I used my Spellbinders nestabilities on her as well. I tried to do the inside a bit plain since my dad asked me to make some to give to his customers.

I used a black background for these pictures because it's been raining over here and there's no natural light coming into my craft room.

Four Easter Cards

An Avett Brothers Postcard and a Baby Shower!

Today I'm posting up two cards. The first I made two weeks ago the second I made this past weekend.

First up we have Taryn's card. Last month Taryn was kind enough to let a bunch of us (more than 10 people) stay at her house upstate when we went to see The Avett Brothers perform in Ithaca. For her hospitality I decided I would thank her with this awesome card!!! The front and back are DPs that TAB uses in their artwork so I found it fitting to use it for this. I continued with the black and orange and red color scheme throughout. She e-mailed me and let me know that she thought it was really awesome so I'm really happy :) I have to admit it was a little hard to part with this one. I really love it AND it's a great reminder of the fun I had.

Next up is my co-worker Eryn's (Trouble as I call her, 'cuz she is!) card. She asked me to make her a Baby Shower card for a boy so I decided on this one here. I love the DP, it's from the DCWV Nana's Kids and I used rub-ons, stamps, and more embellishments. I'm glad I used the brown and tan colors.

The envelope has the same monkey and some of his friends...Overall I really love this card. I made another one so she could pick of the two but I'm glad she picked this one because it was the one I liked the most as well :)

Birthday Cards- Last Part

So here's the last of Vanessa's order. She wanted five Birthday cards, two of which are easel cards (the best cards ever!). I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE making easel cards. They are so much fun to decorate. And they instantly make any card elegant.

Perhaps I went a little overboard with my glossy accents but I don't care. I love how this card came out. And I love running my fingers over the glossy accent bubbles. Feels nice. This card was partly inspired by Cardmaker. CARD 482

Love this blue abd green combo. Lots of fun to make. This card was also inspired by Cardmaker. I wish I had the paper they used though. It was blue and green birthday hats.

My mom made the card below and I made the envelope. This was definitely inspired by Cardmaker magazine. There's a card in their latest issue that looks just like this. I wanted to give her something easy to do. I had the pop-up candles from a gift bag I saw at a dollar store and thought, I can use those candles for a card! Good thing I bought it because it came in handy. CARD 484

Glossy accents on the envelope. Again, feels so good when you run your hands over it. I love how it looks like little drops of colored water when the sun shines on it.

This card is another favorite of mine. It was featured in Cardmaker as a way to incorporate the making paper out of scraps. I'm so glad I had all the materials needed so I could make a replica. The love the chocolate and pink color scheme. CARD 476

Vanessa's Order Part Deux...

Okay, I've been a bit slow with Vanessa's order. I was out sick one weekend and too tired too work. But here's the rest of that 10 Blank Thank You card order. I've already started the 10 Company name Thank You cards and have yet to do the Birthday cards. Again these cards inspired by Cardmaker magazine. One of the best cardmaking magazines out there!!

For this card below I drew the wheat spikes. It took me a long time to get it right because I am no artist! You should've seen what it looked like when I first started. A huge mess of a thang! I think this card is one of my favorites. I like the bright yellow background with the tan and brown colors.

I've been trying to incorporate new card shapes in my designs so I really like this one. I wish you could see it fully closed. The right sidebar from the inside can be seen outside. It looks pretty cool.

Here's another new thang I tried. The circle wasn't that easy to make. I decided to sew the ribbon around it to make it stand out more. That took awhile and I thought about quitting halfway through but I think it was worth it. I like how colorful this card came out in the end. CARD 466

I love the browns in this card below as well as the tan color inside. A lot of fun to make. I think the new background I'm using adds more natural light to the cards when I take the pictures. It's basically just the curtains covering the radiator and putting my card on the radiator. I also looked around in my drawers and found my phrases kits and thank God I had two that had Thank You phrases which helps a ton 'cuz I was getting tired of using the same stamps! CARD 467

Another favorite of mine. So much fun. Again inspired by the geniuses at Cardmaker magazine. I love all the colors in this card. For the clear buttons I stamped them with white ink and then sprinkled chestnut glitter on them then used my embosser heat gun on them so the glitter would stay. Again, I used the Thank You quotes on the outside of this. The dark green in this is awesome and I love how the inside came out. Simple but sweet :) CARD 468

One of my dad's clients saw some cards I had made for my neighbor as well as my cards at my dad's shop and contacted me to see if I would make her some Thank You and Birthday cards. I made this Birthday card below and the rest are Thank Yous.
By the way, I'm listening to the music from the Hope For Haiti telethon. "Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour) is definitely one of the stand-out songs. It has a lot of heart and I love Bono. Dave Matthews' and Justin Timberlake's renditions of "Alone and Forsaken" and "Hallelujah", respectively, are amazing as well.

Two Valentine's Day Cards for Gigio, a card for Gaby and Finally! Geovanni's Christmas Card!

So when I came back from Florida after Christmas, my older brother came back with us. He stayed about two weeks up here in the blistery cold (and still has the cough to prove it) and with the subtle hint of my dad asked me to make him a Valentine's Day card for his girlfriend Cindy and one for my niece Gaby.
For Cindy I knew I wanted to make an Easel card because I just love making those. I also wanted to use one of my leftover Christmas Tilda stamps. So I picked the pinkest Tilda I had (#3001 Wrapped Tilda which I bought from the Magnolia-Licious Store and the wonderful Diana). I mounted her on a heart embellishment which says "Love of my Life" and then adorned with squiggly ribbon and heart candy stickers. I also added some gems and some pink DP. CARD 454

This is the interior of the card. I added more hearts, my trademark Chickie, and a "Happy Valentine's Day" saying.

The envelope is simple with just a bouquet of hearts adorning it.

This is Gaby's Valentine's Day card. I wanted to use musical notes on hers because she loves listening to music. I took inspiration for this card from Cardmaker magazine which is an awesome magazine.

Interior view. I love this bubblegum pink cardstock from Bazzill. Some more notes inside. And a heart for a pretty little girl.

I've recently realized that for my envelopes I don't have to use heavy cardstock anymore. Regular DP or DP that's a little heavier works just as great. This envelope is regular DP. It makes decorating an envelope so much easier when it's already decorated. Two-sided DP works even better because then the inside of the envelope is decorated too!

My mom made this card from a sketch I found. She was supposed to just keep me company as I made cards because she was suffering from tendinitis in her wrist, but she couldn't resist. She made this little cutey and of course suffered the consequences later that night when her wrist swelled up again. This card is Gaby's Valentine's Day card from me, my mom, my dad, and my brother.

Finally, Geovanni's card!! Before I left to Florida for Christmas, my youngest nephew Geovanni asked me to make him a Christmas card. I forgot! In my defense I had so much to do before hand but I also thought he would forget. He didn't. When I got there he asked me where his card was. I felt terrible!! So I took advantage of some free time when I came back and I made him this doosey. I took inspiration from Cardmaker magazine again because I saw a card in there with a similar look and thought, "Geovanni would love that!" I made this card Green because green is his favorite color. The map displayed is of Holiday, Florida where my brother lives, and I made a black paved road. I drive a metallic blue Nissan Sentra SL, nothing like the bus on the card, but I didn't have any car cuts available for my Cricut so I just made a bus and wrote "Titimobile" on it. My niece and nephews call me Titi. Actually everyone does. I also added a little reindeer to keep with the spirit of the season.

I love the envelope for this card. It's a new type of envelope I'm trying. I used my Cricut Expressions but I can't remember the name of the cartridge.

I love my Doodlecharms cartridge from Provocraft that I use with my Cricut. It lets me make borders. I knew I would make a border for Geovanni's card to make it extra special. When I spoke to him after receiving the card he said he really liked it.

My Most Favoritest Christmas Card!!!

as my dad was telling me whose card was whose, we realized two people we had forgotten. So I had to do two cards last minute. One was Card #450 and the last one was this one. For this one my dad asked me to make a super pretty card for my cousin Wilson cuz he made a big impression on my dad this past summer when my parents went down there.

Apparently Wilson is a great dancer!!

I knew I wanted to make an easel card because they're so elegant and I wanted to use Angel Tilda. But as I finished up and was about to lay the image over the front I couldn't shake the feeling that it wouldn't look right. So I looked in my drawer and remembered I had seen one of my pretty poinsettias that Pam had gotten me the day before. So I pulled it out, added pop-up dots and voila! I added the gold charms later on.

When I showed my parents this card they were amazed! They LOVED it!!! I had to make the envelope myself because I don't know how to make my Cricut cut out square envelopes. The ones it makes are too wide. It took me a couple of hours to do everything but well worth it.

Here's Tilda as Unwrapped Tilda. I love the Designer Paper on the card. The biggest one. I didn't find it in a Christmas Pack. It was in one of my other floral ones. I went through all my pads and ripped out pages I thought might work with a Christmas theme because I was running out of Christmas paper. I wanted variety from what I was always using.

Edwin and Tilda Celebrate the Holidays... in Ecuador!!

This is Magnolia Stamp #3020 Cozy Tilda. I love coloring this stamp. The hearts at top are a bit difficult if you don't have a fine-tip point but I make up for it but cutting closely to the lines.

This is the first card I made for my relatives in Ecuador. I thought I was going to make all of them with Tilda with a Piglet because in Ecuador pigs are called chanchos in colloquial. And little piggies are called chanchitos. Native cuisine in Ecuador consists mostly of pork so I thought it would be cute to send this Tilda with the chanchito.

Finally, one of my favorite Tildas. This is the Angel Tilda I think? She's not on the site right now so I can't link back to her (or Tilda with piglet). But I really love the way this card came out. The ribbon is so beautiful and soft and I love the snowflakes. I sued Prismacolor Pencils to color this one and Prismacolor markets for the stars, wings, and headband.
