Why I like makeups?

In this post I will explain why I like makeups so much. After a few years of blogging about makeups, I realized that I'm not an addict as I thought I would be. My makeup addictions has died down, but have self discovered why I still like makeups. The reasons why I like makeups is because it's form of an art by adding colors on your canvas is it to your face. I like to enhance my looks to make myself looking fresh each day. On my typical day I go for a fresh simple look and on special occasions, I want to transform myself into a swan.

There are many levels forms of makeup looks that I notice. Makeups looks are pretty much endless. I realized that makeups can also enhance someone's self-confidence at work, people you meet and so forth. Also as you age your skins looks duller, your pigmentations of your skin isn't there when you were a kid with nice pinkish cheeks.

I personally do not condone that a young girl soon start wearing makeups at a very young age. I notice a lot of young girls starting to wear makeups in middle school and high school already on a daily basis. Generally and personally I think it's okay for a teenager to wear makeups, but on special occasion for special events. (makeups can be an endless debate, but this is my personal opinion) I realized that makeups can send good messages to people and also send negative messages to people as well. There's been many and countless articles about makeups transformation from positive to negative messages but generally I still like makeups in every kind form of ways.

Yu-Be Heel & Elbow Moisturizing Sock

Another review and hope this will be an informative review. In my prior post I posted about the Yu-Be moisturizer. I stated that this moisturizer is a great moisturizer for those who stuffer from dryness. I personally like this moisturizer and I find this moisturizer helps me during those brutal winter days. The only con is that it smells a bit medicated. I'm not bothered by the smell, the smell instantly evaporates once you apply it on your face or hands.

History about Yu-Be moisturizer
This moisturizer was invented in 1957, a Japanese pharmacist Yoshikiyo Nowatari who invented this glycerin based moisturizer. This formulated moisturizer cream is enriched with Vitamins B2, C, E and Camphor - Camphor is a waxy, white or transparent solid with a strong, aromatic odor. In the process of manufacturing this moisturizer it became popular in Japan. This moisturizer is so effective on dry skin that sets it apart from other creams.

Recently Yu-Be contacted me to try out their Yu-Be Heel & Elbow Moisturizing Sock. I have to admit my heels are a bit chap. I've been walking a lot and my heels are a bit dry these days. So I put this to the test.

Instructions on how to use the Yu-Be Heel & Elbow Moisturizing Sock

Soak and Wash dry cracked heels or elbows in warm water for several minutes before bedtime to allow pores to pen and maximize absorption while you sleep.
Apply a generous amount of the Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream on affected areas and then cover it with the Yu-Be Heel & Elbow Socks.

Personal thoughts & Review:
My feet felt really hydrated after using the moisturizing socks. Seems like my tired heels are resorted after a long battle of dry heels from all that excess walking. I'm truly amazed how this is working out. I hope to continue to use this in the long run. However, I personally think that the medicated smell will be a bothersome to some people. I personally like this cream. Its also a pretty good cream for those who are suffering from Eczema and Dermatitis. I used this a few times when my daughter was having Eczema and this cream instantly cleared her Eczema in no time.

Happy Earth day! Did you guys go to Sephora to claim a full size of Origin Moisturizer? I got mine since I have a bit of time. I made a quick trip just to pick up the moisturizer. Sorry for the lack of post. As for the mean time I'm going on a bit hiatus and start dedicating my post on dieting and eating healthier. I realized my eating habits aren't going well. Too many outside foods is causing me to gain some weights now. I decide to and try to minimize my portions and start cutting out carbs. I hope my entries is a way to help me to achieve living more healthier. Hopefully I would add in to exercising more in the long run. I hope to pop in a few makeup reviews here and there, but lately I've been swamp with a lot of things in my current life.

My blush

Since spring is here I normally like to focus on putting on blush. I really like shopping for blushes more than other makeups during spring. I personally believe that it brightens up your face. Also it gives you a fresh and a healthy glow after you apply blush to your cheeks. I read an interesting article from Health magazine stating that Peach is a hit color blush and that it helps you wake up your cheeks. Choosing a blush can be difficult, but here's a some rules of thumbs when finding a perfect blush shade for you. When looking for a particular blush it's okay to have a hint of shimmer in it. Many women believe that shimmer is too young, but it's not true. With shimmer in it, your cheeks appear more fuller and prettier. Another tip when looking for a blush try focusing of getting powder instead of cream blush. Especially if you have large pores it can irritates your skin easily when applying cream blush. I personally stay away from cream blush, from my personal experience I had a bad reaction to cream blushes. Also I had large pores and it irritated my cheeks even more. Here are some of my main blushes I'm currently using for spring.

I'm currently using my Jill Stuart blush that I recently won from a giveaway. So far I enjoy using my Jill Stuart blush, it gives me a nice subtle pink. There is no a hint of peach in it, it's more on the pink side, like bubble gum pink. The pigmentation for this is very light which is a lack in that area. The only upside is that the packaging is so pretty it makes me feel like a princess. It comes in a pretty silver compact and with a hooked on blush brush.

Paul and Joe - This is my personal fave, it has a hint of shimmer in this and gives me a nice dewy glow after applying this blush. Could be in the peachy side when the two shades are mixed together. This blush for this is pretty good because it has a lot of pigmentations.

NYX Peach - love this and one of my favorite blush of all. It has strong pigmentations it's pretty cheap for a good quality blush that holds throughout the day.

Zoom Whitening Advanced

Today I went to my dentist to get my teeth whitening done. The whole process took a while, but I'm pretty happy with the results. I decided to get my teeth whitening because my teeth was pretty badly stained. I also bravely went through my periodontal surgery a few years ago. The whole process care of my dental hygiene has greatly improved. I decided to take better care of my gum and my teeth because I feel it's important to have a good oral hygiene and also I can feel confident when I'm smiling. I can finally show my teeth when I smile for the camera. Anyway the whole process took nearly 2 hours. My dentist recommended to whiten my teeth and also she uses the latest Zoom Whitening Advanced machine in her office. My stain teeth was pretty stained which was in the 4 category chart, if I remember correctly. Unfortunately I didn't take a before pic but I'll try to provide you with a after picture of how white it is. I had to sit in 4 session of 15 mins each of getting my teeth gel and then getting it Zoom by this light. Each time I get it Zoom the intensity of my teeth gets pretty sensitive. Although it wasn't so bad while I was getting it done at my dentist office. The aftermath when the whole process was finished, I could feel the sensitivity running around my teeth which hurts pretty bad. Also I'm getting a kit from my dentist within two weeks and this allows me to do touch ups on my own. Hope you enjoy my teeth whitening experience. Fishtail Braid Hair Style

Today post isn't about makeups at all, this post is about braiding hair post. Anyway, I wish when I was younger I had more time to play with my hair. I wish I could braid better. Most of my teenage years I had short hair because I wasn't allow to grow my hair long. I don't know why, but I missed out my long hair days when I was younger. Now being at 33; I grew my hair out and now trying to learn how to braid isn't easy to learn. So today I braid a fishtail braid after watching some youtube tutorials. At first I didn't get it but after watching it several times I got the hang of it. Also I realize that my hair is coarse and curly it's harder in recreating this braid. I must either damp my hair first or straighten it to get a tighter tail look. Otherwise as you can see in the pic it's loose and looks messy. Nothing fancy and also my hair runs pretty coarse. I wish I had thinner hair.

What do you think for my first attempt?

It's been awhile since I did a FOTD look and because with my hectic schedule, I have just completely stopped doing it. Also of lack of motivation, I wasn't in the mood as well. Anyway, I'm back and to show you my Smokey eye look that I recently did using my Paul & Joe palette that I got awhile ago. It's been really long and I have never really used it until recently. I kept putting things off, so here's some pics of the look. It's really hard to tell in the pictures that you don't see any makeup on me but I packed on a lot of colors and I looked like a silly clown. Maybelline Color Tattoo - 35 Tough as Taupe

I recently heard there was a lot of hype going on and had to try this Maybelline Color Tattoo line. The one that I got is called 35 Tough as Taupe. I heard that it's a dupe of the MAC paint pots. I personally never tried MAC paint pots before so I can't compare the texture and quality together side by side. I do know that this cream shadow that I got is really pigmented and last through the day after a couple swipe on my arm. I did a test of it and didn't remove the cream shadow on my arm and it lasted about couple of hours. Personally I find it a bit dry and hard to blend without a primer, but I will do another test with an eye primer to see if blend in easier.

In this post I'll be featuring my makeup bag items that I bring with me majority of the time. I only bring the essential items out, which consist of concealer, blush, powder, eyebrow pencil and lipsticks. I don't carry a lot of stuff with me. I tend to keep my makeup bag light as much as possible. I consider myself a minimal person. I don't need too much stuff and only the essential items that are good enough for me that last me the whole entire day. On a typical day I normally apply my makeup on the train since I have that extra time to spare during my train commute.

Wet 'n' Wild 8-pan Palette - Blue Had Me At Hello

In this post I will be reviewing the Wet 'n' Wild 8-pan Palette - Blue Had Me At Hello. By the way I also love the name Blue Had me at Hello, like in Jerry Maguire Movie, which sounds so romantic. I got this 8 pan palette awhile ago, but never had the chance to review this or use this. I played with it a few times and I have to say this 8 pan palette is very pigmented. If you like bold look, this is a very good palette for you to try. I had a hard time searching for these 8 pan palette and finally found this in at Walgreen in Manhattan awhile ago. Personally I notice that cool tones doesn't work well on me. I like warmer shades and since I played with it a few times it's hard for me to pull off a decent look. I will try to review this post more in depth with a FOTD look.

Moderation and Thrift Resolution

Eeeek! I know I haven't been posting lately, my makeup obsessions outlet have been less now. I'm finally home! I went on a fantastic 7 days cruise to Bahamas and to Orlando. I had a splendid time and it was a nice spending time with my husband and with my daughter. It was so therapeutic and I'm glad that I got an opportunity to get away.

I hope you all have a great New Year. I hope that we all have a wonderful start of the year and focus on the happiness that we share with our close family and friends. I realized that I should focus and spend more time with people who truly values and accepts me for who I am. I'm not going to be remotely depress at all, cause I know there are people will walk in and out of my life. I faced a lot of rejections and having someone walking out of my life is merely belittling to me. It's not about the quantity of how many friends you have, it's about true friendships that sticks behind you and value you at all times. I'm going to focus on what I can and take things easily I can each day. I realized that I have a family and friends that I know loves me and values me without judging me or putting me down. So this year going to be focusing loving myself more and less concern of unnecessary SUPERFICIAL dramas for this New Year of 2012.

I'm spoiling myself

Long over due post. I went ahead and spoil myself at Sephora. I had a Beauty Insider $15 dollars off coupon and so I redeemed my coupon to purchase something for myself. This time I didn't buy any beauty related item, instead I brought a fragrance rollerball set from Marc Jacobs. I couldn't decide what I wanted and realized that I don't have a lot of fragrances at home. Since it's the holiday I decided to spoil myself. I got the rollerball set because it's convenient when traveling. I really like the sense, it smells more on the flowery side. I'm really bad in describing the smell when it comes to perfume. Along with my purchase I got a Hello Kitty Apple lippy balm for my daughter as for a Christmas present stuffer. Pic will be posted soon. My New Year Resolutions 2012

I know I'm pretty early on hitting up on my New Years Resolutions and gave it a lot of thoughts on it. For next year I want to spend on time of what I have passion for.

I have passion on traveling and planning to arrange some vacation time by visiting my family in another state and more cruises.
More bonding with my family and a close friend of mine.
Trying to look for good deals on taking some sewing classes and also trying to be a bit crafty again.
Less spending on makeups and do many other things that I like to do.
Trying to learn to make some good dishes and pastry. I want to hit back in the kitchen to cook some good stuff.

I'm giving myself some me time to think things throughly of certain things,which I wish not to disclose on my blog. I wish blogger will set up password protected entry post, but I guess this have to do now.

Handmade Mini Kitten

I know I've been out of the loop on makeups lately and kinda feel unmotivated to blog about anything that is makeup related as of this time. Instead I'll start to post more of my daily days event happening and share with you that I'm a real human of things I have passion for. I don't want to abandon my site, cause I dedicate a lot of time in creating my site. Recently I decided to wipe out my old menu bar and input a new one. I hope you like it. I was sick and tired of the plain look of the menu bar and I wanted to tweak it a bit to look more of my style that I'm going for. Anyway I've been kinda of crafty and so I made this little mini kitten straightly out from felt. What do you think? It makes a great cell phone strap holder to your bag or to your cell phone. I'm trying to make these for Christmas as for gifts to give out to my family or friends. Well if I don't post anytime soon, then I wish you all have a great Christmas Holiday.

Sorry that I've been on MIA lately. I feel like I haven't been motivated and I had to keep things in order around the home and taking care of my 5 year old. I have just been so busy and the holidays are coming around the corner as well, which makes things a bit more hectic. I'm just popping in just to say HELLO and I haven't abandon my site at all. I will try to update more if I can. I have so much to share!

But anyway I want to share with you a great article I came across from beautylish.com - Do You Know What Causes Pimples?

Typically I don't break out really bad, but I don't have clear skin that's the saddest part. I wish I could have a clear skin, but the only way that I have clear skin is to conceal my face with concealer. This article comes with a face diagram pin pointing what causes these break outs. In this diagram there are total of 14 zones of what causes pimples on each sections. I have narrowed down that I'm in Zone 2 and 11 +13

Zone 2
The middle of the forehead, between the eyebrows, connects to the liver. Congestion and breakouts could be related to consumption of alcohol and rich foods or a food allergy (like lactose intolerance). Avoid eating late at night and cut back on the wine and cheese.

Zone 11 + 13 (corners of your mouth)
The corners of your mouth connect to the ovaries, and often break out during menstruation.

I do have to say that it's pretty accurate. In Zone 2 I am probably allergic to rich foods and yeah sometimes I do eat and munch on sometimes before going to sleep, it's a bad habit of mine. Hopefully my pimples blemishes will go away before the holiday.

Speaking of my claim prize, I have received today and of course this site is totally legit.

But here are some good thumb rules of using luuux to earn faster points:

Make sure that your post is a legitimate post and do not plagiarize
Make sure your post is in the right category.
Be unique in writing your own post.
Use your own picture or if not give source where you find the picture otherwise moderator will remove your post.
Try to engage and getting to know other bloggers and comment back on your own post when people do comment on your blog.
Try to be friendly, do not engage in a fight or attack each other.

BB Cream Review Part II

From my prior post, I posted about my purchase of a new BB cream that I'm trying out. I'm having a love & hate relationship with my current BB cream that I'm using. At some time I find this BB creams gives me a white and grayish overcast and it makes me look like a vampire from the Twilight movie. I feel like I'm even more paler than Edward. I think it's best that I use a very small amount and dabbed around the areas where I'm most affected by pimples and red blemishes. I also find this BB cream a bit heavier, felt like my face wasn't breathable. Also I find this BB cream tends to run on a drier side. I like that fact that it gives me an oil-free base control, which I don't have to use a blotting paper to blot my t-zone area.

In conclusion I'm personally not too fond of BB creams, probably because I'm still new. I still needs some time in finding the right one. I personally think that these BB cream runs more thicker than tinted moisturizers and foundations.

Paul & Joe Haul

I decided to purchase some Paul & Joe items, since www.beautyhabit.com was offering a free Paul & Joe cosmetic bag of $50 or more purchase. I'm always obsessed with little pretty or cute bags. Anyway I decided to get a powder compact and a lipstick. Due to my prior post I purchased a cream formulated compact and indicated how I hated it and it didn't work out for me. So I decided to purchase the power format and I love how it glides on my face whenever I used this. I find that Paul and Joe powder stuff works well for me so far. I also purchased Paul and Joe lipstick in shade Mademoiselle.
