Lash Perm

I recently got treated to a Lash perm by my friend as a early birthday gift. To be honest I'm not a total beauty expert yet, but little minor detail of certain things make things appeals and looks better especially getting a lash perm. As I gotten older I notice that my lashes droop downwards and it takes a while for me to curl my lashes and apply mascara. I typically don't curl my lashes and apply mascara on a daily basis, because I just don't have that extra time each morning. After having the lash perm, I can minimize the down time not having to curl my lashes and straightly apply on mascara.

Getting the lash perm wasn't so bad, in fact it was therapeutic and relaxing. At first I youtubed some videos to see what this lash perm was all about and I was a bit concern and scared what they put on my eyes. As I was lying there, the lady rubbed some ointment on my eyes, I realized the glue ointment was to seal my eye shut. I kinda of got nervous and twitched my eyes a bit and told myself not to get nervous and clam myself down. Later on she rubbed some more things and put a cold pack under my eye circles and this was the most relaxing part. The estimated time was at least 45 minutes of getting both of my lashes done and I asked for a straight curl. I'm glad I had an opportunity to try this out and certainly it does make some difference to your appearance.

The first thing I grabbed was the TastyKake Kandy Bar Kakes. The cake was pretty moist and soft with peanut butter in between the cake bar. I have to warn you though the hard shell chocolate can get messy, because it melts pretty fast when eating. I enjoyed eating every minute of it and I'm so tempted in getting a full box of this. Also these cake bar makes a great snack for myself or for my daughter.

Also I have tried the Secret Outlast Clear Gel Antiperspirant Deodorant. I like that it doesn't stain my clothes and that it's a clear gel that you can simply glided on easily because it's invisible solid. I threw this in my gym bag and I love the fragrance of this. Anyway have you tried the Spring Fever Box and what are your thoughts on receiving these items?

Ivory® 2-IN-1 Hair & Body Wash Review

Yesterday I had the opportunity to try this new Ivory® 2-IN-1 Hair & Body Wash. I really like the idea that it's 2 in 1 cause you don't have to spend extra dollars on buying a separate body wash and shampoo. I like that it comes in just 1 bottle and also a great way to refill it in a small bottle and throw it in your gym bag for those who works out like me. I really like the refreshing scent of this shampoo and body wash. I can't make out the scent whether it's a floral scent, but it has a nice perfume scent that isn't overpowering at all. This 2 in 1 is hair and body wash is pretty simple and it works perfectly well for me when I'm on a go after working out at the gym. I'm so glad I had an opportunity to try this full size bottle through influenster.

My Fashion Sense Part III

To be honest I don't really have a fashion sense at all when comes to shopping. On my typical days I dress in my sloppy clothes that consist of a t-shirt, jeans and a hoodie. I've been very lazy in dressing or glamoring up for myself cause my day is consist of picking up my little girl and working with kids. I'm not sure if it's the comfortability factor that plays a role to it as I'm getting older. I feel that the world can throw you off at times. Society and friends can comes to role where we at times judging each others of how the way we dress and how we look. I dress up only when I'm in mood, but each day I always promise myself in dressing up more for myself. I'm dressing up for myself, not what people or the society will think of me.

I did some spring cleaning and try to minimize my wardrobe and try to wear what I have or mix and match some of the previous older clothes that I brought. I recently also brought some tops and I notice that Horse prints has been very trendy and popular these days. I think horse prints are popular now after PSY created the Gangnam style song. I also got a floral pink top for the summer. These tops are able to mix and match from causal to a sophisticated events. I have to admit, I've been having an itch and wanting to buy more clothes. I always try to find an excuse or reasons of wanting to get a new items just to match with a certain look.

I find things that appeals to me more than the name brand. I make sure that the quality is long lasting when I'm buying certain type of clothes. I used to work as a production coordinater at a fabric company. I seen many fabrics that came into my office. I studied and analyzed the fabric each time. I also looks at prints/designs of how the pattern flows.

Also I rarely shop at high end brand name store. I find things that are appealing and budget friendly to my wallet than the name itself.

What do you look for when shopping? Does name brand appeals to you more or the quality items appeals more to you?

I recently got this Anti-Aging BB Cream through IFabbo.com and I want to review this BB cream. I never heard of this brand and was very curious of trying this out. My diet plan

I was never to keen on watching my diet from my early 20s till in my early 30s. I eat what I want and don't really care if I gained. Eating makes me happy, especially when I'm with a friend. Now that I lost that circle of friends, because I have my own busy schedules and they have theirs too. Eating wasn't much fun anymore without a company.

Unfortunately I'm not blessed with a perfect figure, I have an hour glass shape figure and it was very hard in losing weight. I know that I have a slow metabolism. Each new year I always tell myself to eat healthy and workout more. Things never changed and I still procrastinated continuing eating and gaining. My highest and heaviest was almost 138lbs being 4'11. I also have a heavy set of breast that makes me feel conscious even more of myself.

This is my journey on losing weight and attempt on documenting my journey. I want to see that change instead of doing nothing. Last summer my husband encouraged me to get a gym plan and found a place for me where I can jog or doing some weights. I attempted to go to the gym at least 2 times a week. At first it was hard I started on the treadmill running 1 miles took me 30 mins within 5 lapses. I try to pace it up each time. My current stat now is 17 mins 1 mile 3 lapses and I jog the whole way through.

This is me before and after from 138 lbs to 125 lbs. I've been also watching what I eat as well. I recently pulled out my old juicer and decided to do more juicing.

Clarisonic Mia 2 Reviews

I have decided to document my Clarisonic Mia 2 journey and I have notice some changes to my skin. I'm currently using the sensitive brush as of now.

Week 1
I notice a bit of change after using this, my face feel smoother before, but I purposely and trying not to excessively use it everyday. I use it normally once every other day and so far I've been using it only in the morning. A friendly pimple came recently on top of my forehead.

Week 2
Notice been breaking out a lot after using it. The breakouts occur around my chin and forehead area. Been using it only in the morning so far once every other day. Hope my pimples will clear up soon. I notice that my pores has tighten and that it wasn't as visible as before. No red blemishes.

My Clarisonic Mia 2 Review

I have posted before of my Clarisonic Plus review, but recently I wanted to say that I downgraded the Clarisonic Plus for a Mia 2.

The reasons why I downgraded is because:

I didn't have room for the base to charge
I feel that the plus speed is way stronger
I was breaking out extremely bad and I didn't reuse the Plus again

So why did I repurchased the Clarisonic again? The reasons why I repurchased the Clarisonic again is because I notice that my face has been really dull and I notice that my pores are more noticeable. I have been breaking out around my chin area and have hard white heads around my chin area.

I will try to document my Clarisonic Mia 2 journey of each time I'm using it and hopefully I see some good results. I repurchased my Clarisonic Mia 2 + Cleansing Brush Head Value Park with my 15% Sephora Chic Week discount.

Dupe with Wet n Wild and Naked Palette

Another dupe post that I recently discovered. I recently discover that one of the Wet n Wild palette - The Gilded Age has some dupes shades to the Urban Decay Naked palette. The Wet n Wild shades are dupe to the following shades from the Naked Palette as follow Sin, Smog and Half Baked.

I put these shades to the test by swatching it and also testing it on my eyes. I have to say I favor wet n wild palette more than the naked palette. Some how I feel like I had more control on the wet n wild palette verses the naked palette. Although the wet n wild shades runs a bit lighter but you can gradually pack on more shades on your eyes until you are satisfy with the look. As for the naked palette I think you'll have to be a bit careful on it cause the texture and shades are quiet pigmented and shimmery when applying.

Tested on my eyes to see the comparison how the shades are so similar when applying.

Sana Pore Putty BB Cream Review

I have to say I haven't really jumped into the Asian BB cream bandwagon faze as of yet. Typically I think it's harder for me to find the right BB cream that I can stick to. The downsize of Asian BB cream is that it doesn't come in a lot of shades. The only shades I have come across is grey and fair shades and nothing in between. I'm in between a light medium to medium shade. I brought this Sana Pore Putty BB cream a few months ago. I heard it's a number #1 bb cream in Japan and it doesn't have a grey shade to it. I personally hate bb cream that has grey shades; making me look pale is not my thing. I used for a bit and at first I do like the coverage, it really does minimize your pores for a good few hours but by the end of the day my face feel dry and cakey. Also this tube is not travel friendly. I put this BB cream in my makeup bag just in case I need to touch up by mid-day and when I open my makeup bag the cream has leaked some out. The cap is not tight at all so you have to consider just using this before heading out. Overall it's not a bad bb cream and I brought this at an Asian Beauty supply store called oo35mm in Chinatown for $25.00

Pros:

Good pore coverage
Can act as a concealer
No heavy smell
Moisturize my face

Cons:

Only in one shade - Fair to Light Medium
By end of the day my face felt dry and cakey
Not travel friendly, cap is not tight and the cream can leak out

My Trip to Paris and Tips

My trip to Paris was a wish come true, unfortunately it was a short 4 days trip, so I had to make my good 4 days worth while I was there. Upon our first day awhile we immediately checked in our hotel and rested an hour then headed to the Eiffel Tower. I was beyond thrill of looking at this beautiful structure and awing at the same time. Sitting near by the structure just viewing this beautiful scenic area was just a joyous moment.

For those who are a first time traveler it will be a bit difficult to get by if you don't speak a slick of French. There were some generous people who helped us and knows how to speak English to guide us where we needed to be. The streets is a bit confusing and you can get easily lost even following the map is a bit complicated cause the streets zig zags. I took a few week course of French so I only know the very basic just to get by during those 4 days.

Chateau Of Versailles
The palace was breathtaking and it's huge. I love that it has a lot of historic history of this during the French Revolution war how the left-wing political groups and peasants try to over throw the King and Queen out. Each rooms were fill with high end furniture, paintings, chandeliers etc. The palace can take days to finish exploring and unfortunately I didn't get my opportunity to visit Marie Antoinette Chateau.

Tips:

Bring a tour guide book - (we completely forgot ours cause I was rushing getting packed at the last minute)
In Paris they don't have Siesta - so your good to have lunch at any time
Sundays - A lot of places like restaurants, groceries shops and major shopping stores are closed. I advise you to stock up on food or just eat at your hotel if you can. I suggest you not to shop for anything on Sunday cause you will be out of luck.
Dress causal and comfortable, people in France lives very simple. Bring a sneaker if you are going to walk a lot. Some streets can turn into cobblestones. Heel and cobblestones are very unconformable to walk in.
Metro - get a 10 ticket pass instead of individual passes. This helps you save than purchasing individual passes.
Plan out ahead for the day. As for restaurants you would like to dine in requires a month ahead reservation.

I had a great time in Paris and hope to go there again in the future. I hope that some of these tips are helpful to you.

I recently purchase Paul & Joe Mix & Match Refillable Cheek blush and compact. This is a new Spring Carousel of Paul & Joe beauty line for 2013. I couldn't resist from getting this cause the compact is so pretty and elegant at the same time. Secondly, this compact and the blush colors are calling me. I also like the fact that it's magnetic and refillable. I could use the compact alone when I'm done using the blush. What I like about this compact is that it's small and travel friendly. The downsize it that the compact is a bit small, I wish it could have been bigger a bit. I really like the motif chrysanthemum on the casing; making it extra unique and somewhat vintage at the same time. As for the blush I ordered Cinema 04, a pretty coral matte blush; soft and warm pink tone that warms up your cheeks after using this. I hope in the long run I'll order more refillable blushes, it's so hard to decide cause most of the colors looks so pretty. Let me know if you are going to try this blush as well.

I know Valentine's Day is coming around the corner and I wanted to do a tutorial look before I head to Paris. This is my second time pulling a V-day look and I personally like this soft look that emphasize on my eyes more. This is my first time putting on falsies, which I'm trying to emphasize on making my eyes appear more doe eyed and innocent. I finally got the opportunity to use my new stuff that I recently got. I used my new Urban Decay Glinda Wizard of Oz palette, the Urban Decay Naked Flushed, the M.A.C Haute & Naughty Lash Mascara Double Effet and my Bobbi Brown BB cream for this tutorial. I'm not sure how well you'll see the gradient effect on my eye shadow shades from one of the picture I posted, but it gave me a purplish vibe look and that's pretty much it. I find this palette a bit mediocre cause rest of the other shades are pretty light. The Glinda palette doesn't give you much options for different looks if you use this palette directly itself, however it's easy to use if you follow the step-by-step instruction card. The rest of the makeup items that I used for this tutorial are superb. I really like the naked flushed cause it helped me contour my cheek bones without making my face looking orange. Also the mascara gave me a va va voom superb long lashes and I didn't need to use falsies with it. The bb cream was not heavy at all and it helped me concealed my red blemishes. Makeup Spring Cleaning and New Haul

Recently I decided to get rid of some of my old unwanted makeups that I don't currently use. I believe some of my old makeups has been expired and it's no point for me to keep them anymore. I'm so glad that I got rid of it and organizing my makeup draw was fun. Now I feel more organized and that I can run in my makeup draw without digging through some other makeups that I don't need. I did a post about When does your Cosmetics Expire?, which I posted awhile ago and it's an essential guide of helping you to declutter your makeups as well.

After decluttering some of my older makeups, I went ahead to purchase some newer stuff. I know I'm pretty bad, but I can't resist from not getting it. I heard good raves that these products are a top hit items for 2013.

I have to say I'm not a Mascara expert cause I don't usually apply mascara on a daily basis. I have a friend who works in a cosmetic company and stated to me that this mascara is really good and I was instantly sold to it. I got this at amazing price, the retail value for this mascara is $20 bucks but I got it for $9. I can't wait to try all of these new items. Will keep you posted on my reviews of these products that I got soon.

Karaage - Japanese Fried Chicken

I always love to cook and try something out new. I want my family to enjoy my cooking more and I know how my husband love fried chicken. So recently I decided to make Karaage, Japanese Fried Chicken. I used chicken thighs with skin on it, cause it taste better in one of the tutorial I followed the recipe. It turned out okay and it was pretty good. I need to add more flavor into the chicken in order for the flavor stand out. The only thing I didn't use in this recipe was sake, probably because of that the flavor of the chicken didn't stand out when I was eating it. Here's a pic of my Karaage. I normally love to eat this, but when I always ordered this dish it's a bit spicy for my liking and this dish can be a bit pricey.

Recipe for Karagge - Japanese Fried Chicken
Difficulty: Very Easy
Time: 40min (incl. marinating time)
Number of servings: 2
Ingredients:
250g (8.8oz.) chicken thigh (with skin)

A

1 tbsp. soy sauce
1/2 tbsp. ginger juice
1/2 tbsp. sake
1/2 beaten egg

1 tbsp. flour
1 tbsp. katakuriko (potato starch)
vegetable oil for deep frying
ketchup or lemon if preferred

Directions:

Remove unwanted fat but leave the skin of chicken (because the skin makes the chicken crispier!) and cut up into bite-size pieces.
Put the chicken in a bowl, add A and marinate for 30 minutes.
Drain well and mix beaten egg. Then mix B.
Fry them in oil at 170C (338F) for 5 minutes. Then turn to 190C (374F) and cook for 20 seconds to fry to a crisp golden brown.

Embracing inner beauty part II

I posted this before about embracing your inner beauty. I wanted to start off that embracing your inner beauty doesn't mean you have to be physically pretty and attractive on the outside. Your inner beauty and your personality is more and most significantly important than what appears on the outside. When I was younger I always judge the covers of the book instead of the content. I realized that the covers and illustration doesn't do much if the content doesn't have a good story line to it and it's the same when applying to a person. I hope my analogy gives your a better perspective of embracing your inner beauty.

I also do find that makeups are essential in my daily life, because as I age older; I don't appear graceful when I was in my 20s. My daily makeup routine is very minimal and simple in helping me to look fresh and clean. Here's a pic of me without any makeup on at all. Some say I age gracefully and some say I look old, but either way I don't really care what people say as long I know that I'm happy and healthy that's all it matters. Remember to embrace your inner beauty and love yourself for who you are.

New Layout

Okay finally I finished working on my new layout. It's not a drastic change, it's simple and clean. I hope to blog more often and do more tutorials look in the long run. I've been making excuses and haven't really bothered with it lately. I just need a good push to do more tutorials and looks soon. I always tend to have ideas, but never really make an attempt in doing it. Anyway hope to have something soon. Hope you like the new layout as well.
