Maybelline Color Tattoo - 35 Tough as Taupe

I recently heard there was a lot of hype going on and had to try this Maybelline Color Tattoo line. The one that I got is called 35 Tough as Taupe. I heard that it's a dupe of the MAC paint pots. I personally never tried MAC paint pots before so I can't compare the texture and quality together side by side. I do know that this cream shadow that I got is really pigmented and last through the day after a couple swipe on my arm. I did a test of it and didn't remove the cream shadow on my arm and it lasted about couple of hours. Personally I find it a bit dry and hard to blend without a primer, but I will do another test with an eye primer to see if blend in easier.

What's in my makeup bag?

In this post I'll be featuring my makeup bag items that I bring with me majority of the time. I only bring the essential items out, which consist of concealer, blush, powder, eyebrow pencil and lipsticks. I don't carry a lot of stuff with me. I tend to keep my makeup bag light as much as possible. I consider myself a minimal person. I don't need too much stuff and only the essential items that are good enough for me that last me the whole entire day. On a typical day I normally apply my makeup on the train since I have that extra time to spare during my train commute.

Wet 'n' Wild 8-pan Palette - Blue Had Me At Hello

In this post I will be reviewing the Wet 'n' Wild 8-pan Palette - Blue Had Me At Hello. By the way I also love the name Blue Had me at Hello, like in Jerry Maguire Movie, which sounds so romantic. I got this 8 pan palette awhile ago, but never had the chance to review this or use this. I played with it a few times and I have to say this 8 pan palette is very pigmented. If you like bold look, this is a very good palette for you to try. I had a hard time searching for these 8 pan palette and finally found this in at Walgreen in Manhattan awhile ago. Personally I notice that cool tones doesn't work well on me. I like warmer shades and since I played with it a few times it's hard for me to pull off a decent look. I will try to review this post more in depth with a FOTD look.

Moderation and Thrift Resolution

Eeeek! I know I haven't been posting lately, my makeup obsessions outlet have been less now. Here are pics of my Marc Jacobs Fragrances. I decided to purchase the value set rather than buying each rollerball individually with my $15 dollar coupon off from Sephora. Otherwise purchasing the rollerball individually alone would cost $20 dollar. I rarely splurge on perfumes but since I got the opportunity with my $15 dollars coupon, I decided to get this fragrances just to try it out. I'm not an expertise in describing the sense of these perfumes that I got, but when I swiped the trios set; it's smells more on the floral side than fruity side. Also I really like the packaging the comes with a tinned casing.

I'm finally home! I went on a fantastic 7 days cruise to Bahamas and to Orlando. I had a splendid time and it was a nice spending time with my husband and with my daughter. It was so therapeutic and I'm glad that I got an opportunity to get away.

I hope you all have a great New Year. I hope that we all have a wonderful start of the year and focus on the happiness that we share with our close family and friends. I realized that I should focus and spend more time with people who truly values and accepts me for who I am. I'm not going to be remotely depress at all, cause I know there are people will walk in and out of my life. I faced a lot of rejections and having someone walking out of my life is merely belittling to me. It's not about the quantity of how many friends you have, it's about true friendships that sticks behind you and value you at all times. I'm going to focus on what I can and take things easily I can each day. I realized that I have a family and friends that I know loves me and values me without judging me or putting me down. So this year going to be focusing loving myself more and less concern of unnecessary SUPERFICIAL dramas for this New Year of 2012.

I'm spoiling myself

Long over due post. I went ahead and spoil myself at Sephora. I had a Beauty Insider $15 dollars off coupon and so I redeemed my coupon to purchase something for myself. This time I didn't buy any beauty related item, instead I brought a fragrance rollerball set from Marc Jacobs. I couldn't decide what I wanted and realized that I don't have a lot of fragrances at home. Since it's the holiday I decided to spoil myself. I got the rollerball set because it's convenient when traveling. I really like the sense, it smells more on the flowery side. I'm really bad in describing the smell when it comes to perfume. Along with my purchase I got a Hello Kitty Apple lippy balm for my daughter as for a Christmas present stuffer. Pic will be posted soon. Anyway hope you all have a wonderful Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

My New Year Resolutions 2012

I know I'm pretty early on hitting up on my New Years Resolutions and gave it a lot of thoughts on it. For next year I want to spend on time of what I have passion for.

I have passion on traveling and planning to arrange some vacation time by visiting my family in another state and more cruises.
More bonding with my family and a close friend of mine.
Trying to look for good deals on taking some sewing classes and also trying to be a bit crafty again.
Less spending on makeups and do many other things that I like to do.
Trying to learn to make some good dishes and pastry. I want to hit back in the kitchen to cook some good stuff.

I'm giving myself some me time to think things throughly of certain things,which I wish not to disclose on my blog. I wish blogger will set up password protected entry post, but I guess this have to do now.

Handmade Mini Kitten

I know I've been out of the loop on makeups lately and kinda feel unmotivated to blog about anything that is makeup related as of this time. Instead I'll start to post more of my daily days event happening and share with you that I'm a real human of things I have passion for. I don't want to abandon my site, cause I dedicate a lot of time in creating my site. Recently I decided to wipe out my old menu bar and input a new one. I hope you like it. I was sick and tired of the plain look of the menu bar and I wanted to tweak it a bit to look more of my style that I'm going for. Anyway I've been kinda of crafty and so I made this little mini kitten straightly out from felt. What do you think? It makes a great cell phone strap holder to your bag or to your cell phone. I'm trying to make these for Christmas as for gifts to give out to my family or friends. Well if I don't post anytime soon, then I wish you all have a great Christmas Holiday.

Sorry that I've been on MIA lately. I feel like I haven't been motivated and I had to keep things in order around the home and taking care of my 5 year old. I have just been so busy and the holidays are coming around the corner as well, which makes things a bit more hectic. I'm just popping in just to say HELLO and I haven't abandon my site at all. I will try to update more if I can. I have so much to share!

But anyway I want to share with you a great article I came across from beautylish.com - Do You Know What Causes Pimples?

Typically I don't break out really bad, but I don't have clear skin that's the saddest part. I wish I could have a clear skin, but the only way that I have clear skin is to conceal my face with concealer. This article comes with a face diagram pin pointing what causes these break outs. In this diagram there are total of 14 zones of what causes pimples on each sections. I have narrowed down that I'm in Zone 2 and 11 +13

Zone 2
The middle of the forehead, between the eyebrows, connects to the liver. Congestion and breakouts could be related to consumption of alcohol and rich foods or a food allergy (like lactose intolerance). Avoid eating late at night and cut back on the wine and cheese.

Zone 11 + 13 (corners of your mouth)
The corners of your mouth connect to the ovaries, and often break out during menstruation.

I do have to say that it's pretty accurate. In Zone 2 I am probably allergic to rich foods and yeah sometimes I do eat and munch on sometimes before going to sleep, it's a bad habit of mine. Hopefully my pimples blemishes will go away before the holiday.

BB Cream Review Part II

From my prior post, I posted about my purchase of a new BB cream that I'm trying out. I'm having a love & hate relationship with my current BB cream that I'm using. At some time I find this BB creams gives me a white and grayish overcast and it makes me look like a vampire from the Twilight movie. I feel like I'm even more paler than Edward. I think it's best that I use a very small amount and dabbed around the areas where I'm most affected by pimples and red blemishes. I also find this BB cream a bit heavier, felt like my face wasn't breathable. Also I find this BB cream tends to run on a drier side. I like that fact that it gives me an oil-free base control, which I don't have to use a blotting paper to blot my t-zone area.

In conclusion I'm personally not too fond of BB creams, probably because I'm still new. I still needs some time in finding the right one. I personally think that these BB cream runs more thicker than tinted moisturizers and foundations.

Is there any good BB creams that you should recommend me in trying? Please let me know by commenting below. Thanks!

I decided to purchase some Paul & Joe items, since www.beautyhabit.com was offering a free Paul & Joe cosmetic bag of $50 or more purchase. I'm always obsessed with little pretty or cute bags. Anyway I decided to get a powder compact and a lipstick. Due to my prior post I purchased a cream formulated compact and indicated how I hated it and it didn't work out for me. So I decided to purchase the power format and I love how it glides on my face whenever I used this. I find that Paul and Joe powder stuff works well for me so far. I also purchased Paul and Joe lipstick in shade Mademoiselle.

Home Remedy for Treating Lice

Unfortunately this isn't a beauty related post, but this is a good post for those who went through hell like me treating for lice. Lice can be problematic and it's disgusting when even hearing about it or even looking at it; my whole body shutters with fear. Recently I was told that my sister in law and her daughter got lice from school. So I was advised to check myself, my husband and my daughter for lice, cause these bugs spreads like a wild fire.

The best solution in killing lice is to get a metal lice comb, which is very effective and kill lice instantly. These comb are sold mostly at drug stores. I got mine at duane reade and also I got tea tree shampoo that kills the lice instantly as well. The tea tree shampoo soothes the scalp of your head after being washed. I inspected my daughter's hair using olive oil and did a thorough check on her and she doesn't have it. I checked mine and I got a few nits and as for my husband he got one and it was a pretty big one. I was so disgusted by it that this morning I had to wash all our clothes, bed sheets and our blankets.

I got rid of my lice the organic way, I didn't use any lice kit for it cause it has strong chemicals. The metal lice comb, Extra Olive Oil and Tea Tree Shampoo should do the trick on killing lice.

What you need:

Metal Lice Comb
Extra Olive Oil
Tea Tree Shampoo

Here's the instruction remedy on how to get rid of lice:

Dampen your hair first and apply some olive oil on head and let it sit in for 5 -10 minutes
Using the metal comb, comb at the root of your scalp downwards.
The metal comb will automatically pick up some lice. Some lice can be visibly seen, they either look brown or black.
After a thorough inspection wash your hair with the tea tree shampoo.

Hope this remedy helps you on getting rid of lice.

Daily Organizer

No new makeups updates, but I recently ordered a daily organizer. I just inputted in all my contact numbers in my book after my cellphone incident. My cellphone just died on me one day while I was heading to my friends place and I was unable to reach her. I was stuck at the train station for awhile and needed her to pick me up. Luckily I was able to contact my husband to get the info. Never again I will 100% trust my cellphone. Need to upgrade my cellphone soon!

The color that I got is called green apple and I love the pastel green. I also love the design in the front that has an imprint of a little bird and in the inside are full of pages where you can joint down your daily schedules and other agendas.

Have this ever happened to you that your cellphone simply just died down and refuse to work and when you need to reach someone urgently?

I'm digging some of my older post and this is one of my post that I wasn't into makeups but starting an out phase.

Over the years I never bothered to put on make up anymore, simply, because I got too lazy to put it on. There was one time period that I would literally spend an hour or so just to put on my make up in my early 20′s. I also invested a lot of my money to buy different types of make up products. Who doesn’t? I enjoy showering myself when it comes to buying things for myself.

After when I got married I decided not to waste the time anymore. I would and only put make up for special occasions. I guess I got tired to the point that it was pointless for me to dress up my face up when there’s no special events to attend to.

Also I wanted my face to breath; therefore, I do not want my face to be greased up with my own oil by end of the day. My face gets very sensitive to certain types of products that I use, and I also get a bad case of break out of zits. I just want my face to look natural, so I put it to the practice to dress myself with a little make up for my husband’s company party dinner. I took a before and after shots of how I look.

I used very simple makeups:

Cover Girl – TruBlend Whipped Foundation

Cover Girl – Blush

Lipstick from Shiseido

The colors that I used are more of a plum color and I personally think it looks more of a day time wear. I’m trying to look for more of an evening wear for my husband’s dinner event.

5 years ago I didn't have a lot of makeups. I didn't have much, now over 2 years time phrase since I started this blog, I have accumulated a lot of makeups. Shame on my makeup addiction.

More Naruko Haul

Recently I got the opportunity to visit their Naruko base shop in Flushing, New York. The store is nicely designed with their lovely Naruko logo design. As for the inside interior the walls are nicely painted purple just like the same color of their bottles being displayed on the selves. The shop itself is small but their products are nicely organized and you can try their test samples on the selves. I didn't spend a lot of time there because I narrowed down what I wanted to purchase.

I purchased their:

Naruko AMPM A30 Pore Minimizing
Rose & Snow Fungus Aqua Cubic Hydrator

The first item that I got is the Naruko AMPM A30 Pore Minimizing. I notice that I have a lot of open pores on my t-zone area and so purchasing this can help me minimize my pores. I haven't notice a drastic change after applying this cream on top of my forehead, but I did see a drastic change on my nose. I see that my pores on my nose are clearer, smaller and more refine than before. I personally think this cream is worth the investment if you suffer from enlarged pores. But either way it's hard to tell cause I just started using it, so I'll try to do another post within a month to give you a full depth result about this product.

The second item I purchased is the Rose and Snow Fungus Aqua Cubic Hydrator. I brought this because this can help me restore my dull and dry face. I love the rose smell of this and it feels very refreshing when applying it over my face. Again I can't conclude if this is working for me yet cause I'm just starting this product out recently.

The sales lady is really nice and helpful and after my purchase I got a generous small size sample of the Magnolia face jelly and eye cream.

I notice I have been lacking on my post. There are some things I wish I don't have to disclose of, because it is a personal matter I'm currently dealing with at this moment. Hopefully I'll return back when I have the time to write. I wish I have more time to write freely; however, it's been really stressful on finding that right time to write these days. This post is dedicated to those who likes dupe stuff and that it's more budget friendlier on our wallets. I recently discovered that the L'oreal One Sweep Eyeshades (519 - Playful for Brown Eyes ) has the same quality eyeshades to the Dior Petal Shine 809. The quality to the L'oreal palette is almost exactly the same, it has the same shimmer consistency and the shades are finely milled. I did a test swatch side by side and simply the L'oreal one sweep eyeshades glides on smoothly just as well as the Dior Petal Shine palette.

As for pricing wise Dior Petal Shine is certainly a lot more pricer retailing at $59 at Sephora. The palette is not a trio set, but a quint palette that comes in 5 shades instead. Even-though, the Dior Petal Shine is a lot pricer, I'm not too keen on applying all of the shades to my eyes. The outcome of the look makes my eyes appear more metallic, so instead I use the shades individually for a softer look.

The L'oreal One Sweep Eyeshades comes in 3 shades, but you don't exactly have to use the applicator for this. Instead you can simply use an eye-brush to apply the colors individually to your liking. The outcome of the look will look similar. I will do an experiment look using the L'oreal One Sweet Eye in the future.

Scent of a Woman Look

I've been recently watching Korean Drama non-stop. It's my of my favorite thing to do just to pass time when I have a long day after watching my little one. Recently I've been catching up this new series called Scent of a Woman starring Kim Sun Ah, my favorite actress of all time. She's pretty and funny as well, most of her dramas are romantic comedy, but this new series is a bit touching. She plays has a protagonist character and finds out that she has 6 months to live due to an incurable disease. She decided to live her last 6 months freely and indulge on certain things she wanted for a long time. Along the story line, she coincidentally find her true love while she was vacationing at the same resort. You must watch this series it's that good!

I love her new make over change and so I recreated a look of her. For this look she went on a vacation and majority of her looks, she puts on very minimal makeup. She kept her look very nice and simple. I love it when she put her hair up and down. Her curly hair makes it look so romantic in this series. Here are some of the pics that I capture of myself. I wish I had a flower head band and bangs to recreate the same look exactly like her. For this look I curled my hair just to look like hers.

All about hair Part II

The last time I blogged about hair was a little over a year ago. Now finally my hair has gotten so long I decided to finally decided to get it perm. I want to go for change and I can't wait for that new change. After my last makeup tutorial attempt post of curling my hair, I have gotten a lot of complements that I look nice in curls. I decided on getting a Japanese perm because it helps me save that extra time of redoing my curls each morning. I heard it's not require to put so much effort into styling your hair once it's perm, so I like to go for that route. Less styling, less maintenance is the whole ideal thing I love the most without putting so much effort and looking good at the same time. My current hair style is straight, long and dull without doing any pampering to my hair almost 6 months. I can't wait to show you my after shot. The only thing is the price wise is an ouch, but this is my first time doing this. I can't wait for the outcome and hope it turns out well. Will continue part III and will give you a thorough process of my new hair look.

Anyway here is my before look of my hair. Like I said before it's straight, dull and long and in 6 months time frame I didn't do any pampering to my hair at all. I look like a hot mess!

Summer Beach Wave Curls and Red Lips

This is my first time sporting summer beach wave curls and red lips look. I normally don't wear red lipsticks because I'm not brave enough to sport this out in the street. But I realized it's a nice and summery look and that I should be confident in the way I look. I hope you'll do the same; sport whatever look you like that makes you feel confident and happy during the summer. I like this look for the summer, it's sexy and chic. It also reminds me living in the 40's like the Pin-up girls era; sporting their lingerie and also their summer swim wears.

In this tutorial I curled my hair using a curling wand. I purposely try not to curl it too curly, I wanted my curls to look loose. I used the Remington Pearl Ceramic Curling Wand. This curling wand works wanders and it wasn't expensive at all, it took me about 20 minutes to finish curling my hair. My hair is pretty thick, so I had section off my hair in order to get this wavy summer beach look.

The following makeups products that I used:

Face:

SKIN79 VIP GOLD BB Cream
Bobbi Brown Corrector Concealer - Light Peach
M.A.C Select SPF 15 foundation - Shade NC25
NARS Blush - Deep Throat
Dior Forever Powder Compact - 032
Bobbi Brown - Shimmer Brick Compact
Eyebrow - RIMMEL LONDON PENCIL COLOR 004 BLACK

For my face, I concealed my face with the following items above. I have really bad red blemishes so I had to use BB cream and Bobbi Brown corrector concealer to conceal some of my zits and red blemishes. I topped off with a foundation using my M.A.C select SPF 15 shade NC25. I also set in my Dior Powder to give me a matted look, then used my NARS Deep Throat blush to add some color to my cheeks. Then I used my Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact to highlight my forehead, nose, cheeks and nose. And lastly, for my brows I likely stroke my brows using the Rimmel London Pencil to shade in my brows a bit.

Eyes:

Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer
wet n wild coloricon - The Gilded Age
Naked - Urban Decay - used Virgin & Buck
Brown Eyeliner
Fairydrops Scandal Queen Mascara

For my eyes I primed my eyes using Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer. I used my Naked Urban Decay Virgin to highlight my brow bones and then used paupiere (gold shade in the wet n wild palette) top of my inner eyes and bottom of my inner eyes. Then using my Naked Urban Decay shade buck for my crease shaping it in a V like format. Lastly I used cruex shade in the wet n wild palette to top it off over my crease again. I then lined my eyes using a brown eyeliner near my eyelid and also rimmed my eye at the bottom of my water line as well. Lastly I used my Fairydrops mascara for my lashes.

Lips:

Kimiko Sheer Tint and lip plumper - Pomegranate
Bourjois - 01 Rouge

I used my Kimiko Sheer Tint for my lips and ran it over with a Bourjois in Rouge to get the red like effect.

Hello! Sorry for the lack of post summer has really taken the fun in me. I've been doing more outdoor activities like doing a dance/exercise class I recently enrolled into. Of course I normally wouldn't do this alone, I have friends to accompany me to this event as well.
