I suspect Robby will find that description a bit jarring, but it’s true. For the past twenty years, Robby has been one of rock music’s backbones in the city that first gave it life. I have enjoyed Robby’s music in every form that it’s taken, from his hip-hop and funk influenced early days with Big Ass Truck to his consistently surprising and even delicate bedroom recordings with Vending Machine.

This is the first time Robby and I have ever spoken; despite the fact that I’ve seen and heard him sing and play guitar dozens and dozens of times. It was a little thrill for me even if it betrays the original idea for the show.

He was generous with his time and thoughtful. Robby even broke a little bit of news about a possible Big Ass Truck reunion later this year.
