The EcoKiosk by Bizarreka Design

With current economic scenario and climate change issues, Bizarreka Design introduced the new design for street kiosk - The EcoKiosk.

This is the new 'green approached' design and solution by using the current green technology and applying the current green method into this kiosk.

The Ecokiosk would become the solution and one of the most cost effective on operational and generating a good revenue on operators’ business and yet would benefit the world on preventing the current green issues.

Solar Energy Source

The solar panels (Photovoltaic Madules)will absord the sun energy during the daytime and store it in internal re-chargeable battery inside the kiosk. The energy stored can be used up to 10 hours a day for night operation. The whole idea is to reduce the usage of electricity by utilise the available natural resource.

Natural Heating,Air & Light Solution

The louvres top roof are the solution for internal heating and natural air ventilation and yet become a natural light source for this kiosk while working inside.

Recyclable Materials

Ecokiosk incorporates a high quality design with durable, and recyclable materials for outdoor weather.

Reduce C02

The planter box in both sides of this kiosk are the concept for the green design which is the green plants itself is an agent for absorbing the C02 and yet become an element on enhancing the overall

aestheticsis forms and structure of the kiosk.

Reuse Water

Guttter and Downspout System designed to be able to collect the rain water and store it inside tank underneath the roof. The water can be used for planting and tap water inside the kiosk for washing.

First impressions are lasting impressions. They affect the relationships with the customers. Neat, Conceptual and Beauty Office may be needed to impress or to present the business as a place where professionals work with pride.

In order to that, Tourism Malaysia in France has moved a step forward to renovate and redesign the entire ground floor office to make visitor’s first glimpse while passing their front door and yet they are confidently can presenting and promoting Malaysia as the best ‘Eco-Tourism Destination’ in the world.

“Nature and Heritage”, those are the major concepts that have been chosen to design the interior office for Tourism Malaysia in Paris.

Spark Awards 2010: Call for Entries

The Spark Awards are the exciting new competition created to promote great design and designers and encourage people to explore their creativity.

Graphics, product design, transportation and architecture are just a few of the many design categories accepted.

Winners are awarded either a prestigious Finalist, Bronze Spark, Silver Spark, Gold Spark or the ultimate Spark! Award.

Re Lux at Eco Age Eco Age

From 18-26 September 2010, as part of London Design Festival, Eco Age will play host to ‘Re-Lux’, an exciting exhibition based around luxury and waste. The exhibition will showcase the best designers in luxury and sustainable design and will also include products from the manufacturing “arm” of Eco Age, the “Eco Factory”. The exhibition highlights will include a glass chandelier and bowls made out of recycled toughened glass which were saved from landfill by the Eco Factory from a major high street retailer, the “Lynn” chair made with cardboard reels, bedside tables rescued from a skip and elegantly up-cycled using buttons and an elegant bag by Regenesi made with recycled leather . The main feature of the exhibition is an exciting collaboration and launch of the Rosetta Rug, exclusively designed for Eco Age by Michelle Mason. The rug, which is made out of felt from 100% recycled plastic bottles and is available in black and pink, will launch at 100% Design from 23rd September until the 26th September at Earls Court in London. Livia Firth comments on the reason for choosing Michelle Mason for the design collaboration,

“I fell in love with Michelle's work a couple of years ago when we were sourcing ethical interiors for Eco Age - it is always elegant and unusual at the same time and totally feminine. We are very excited to do this collaboration with her and to have the first ever plastic bottles rug.... By looking at it, you won't believe it!”

The design, a contemporary take on lacemaking, looks equally striking on carpet or natural wood floors, as a centre piece on a dining table or a statement wall hanging. Eco Age offer a bespoke service and the Rosetta rug can also be custom made in a beautiful array of colours

Kemp has commissioned totally one-off work from dozens of the top British craftspeople working today. A major feature is the bespoke plate wall installation, where Kemp has ambitiously asked 100 makers to create one plate each in the material of their choice: wood, ceramics, metal, textiles or glass.

As part of the exhibition CAA is launching a new service called ‘Commissioning Craft’ meant to demystify the process of commissioning a piece of work for an interior. CAA will provide a specially designed guide and a dedicated member of staff to customers who sign up for the service.

Kit Kemp will be in the gallery for an informal discussion on Wednesday 22nd September 2.30 -3.30pm.

A satellite CAA exhibition, 'Untitled: glass inspired by architecture' by Kate Maestri at Circus, 58 Marylebone High Street, W1U 5HT, exhibits work inspired by a selection of buildings including the National Theatre and the Barbican in London.

These three-dimensional art works interpret and abstract the architecture into stained glass and Perspex sculptures using colour, light and form. For her large-scale work Maestri uses innovative methods to incorporate traditional stained glass into contemporary architectural structures in collaboration with world class architects and engineers.

Inspiration is the first step towards creation of a product or service. Observing how things and people work in the real world (which might require living with local communities) is very helpful for drawing inspiration. The example of the use of the positive deviance initiative, where the problem of malnutrition in Vietnam was solved by discovering the solution within the same community, is a good one of drawing inspiration.

In the Ideation space, the authors highlight the importance of letting ideas flow (while deferring judgment) till the end of brainstorming sessions. Organizations often restrict choices while ideating on projects, which is easier to do in the short-term. However, divergent thinking and more ideas are what lead to disruptive solutions and are beneficial in the long-run. It is also advisable to have multi-disciplinary teams when collaborating.

The last space is Implementation, which is the key to the creation of the final product or service. In this space, prototyping is extremely important. Testing within a small and well chosen sample set of users can help create a revolutionary product.

If you want to learn Human Centric Design (HCD) and use it for innovation, you can use the IDEO designed HCD Toolkit, which helps organizations understand people's needs in new ways, find innovative solutions to meet these needs, and deliver solutions with financial sustainability in mind. The toolkit was created in collaboration with the Gates Foundation and non-profit groups IDE, ICRW and Heifer International.

Aston Martin Carbon Black Special Editions 2010

Aston Martin announced the release of two new Aston Martin Carbon Black Special Editions models, the Aston Martin DBS Carbon Black and the Aston Martin V12 Vantage Carbon Black. The special editions Aston Martin DBS and V12 Vantage Carbon Black will featuring bespoke Carbon Black metallic paint especially formulated with a subtle metallic twist to create a deep rich patina. Each Aston Martin Carbon Black Special Editions will undergo 50 man-hours of hand painting followed by stringent quality checks. For the Aston Martin V12 Vantage side strake has been fashioned from real carbon fibre backed by a black mesh and complimented with gloss black 10 spoke diamond turned alloy wheels. A bright finished grille and front parking sensors complete the exterior detailing.

For the interior, owners will be greeted to swathes of Obsidian Black leather highlighted with a contrast silver coarse. Lightweight seats formed from Carbon Fibre and Kevlar saving 17 kg over the standard seat also feature together with Piano black facia trim, centre stack and centre console, anodised black tread plates and unique sill plaques build on the carbon theme. The Aston Martin 700w Premium Audio System is delivered as standard in the V12 Vantage while the DBS boasts the Bang & Olufsen Beosound DBS audio system as standard.

The Carbon Black Editions are available to order from the official Aston Martin dealership network now with final pricing (expected to be approximately 5% over current base prices) to be confirmed in the New Year with deliveries to commence from March.

Land Rover introduced the new 2010 Range Rover Sport as it comes with three all new engines, a 3.0 liter twin turbo diesel, 5.0 liter V8 petrol and a high performance supercharged petrol. The 3.6 liter TDV8 engine continues to be available for the 2010 Range Rover Sport. The 2010 Range Rover Sport also comes with new systems such as Adaptive Dynamics and the addition of the road-focused Dynamic program to the Terrain Response system and further improvements to the Terrain Response system ensure that off-road capability is kept at the expected class-leading level.

Light And Dark OLED Clock

A beautiful idea from Vadim Kibardin. The most minimal of elements needed to form a clock - use purely the numbers. The clock’s four digits are made from 7 OLED’s ( Organic Light Emitting Diodes ) each. Independently controlled. During the day, the letters appear dark. During the night, a light sensor triggers the switch over to white illumination.
