Once upon a time there were giant wales, as big as this apartment building. They were a thousand years old and knew all the world’s secrets. The giant whales lived deep in the ocean, where they circumnavigated the world, watching the stars and following the gravitational pull of the turning planet. They had voices and sang songs to one another about the deep ocean and faraway stars.

One day the whales disappeared. No one could find them. They had swum up into the sky, through the atmosphere and into outer space. The whales swam through space until they found another planet where there weren’t any humans and they lived there happily ever after.

Good night. Sweet dreams.

This is the third time I’ve visited the Gamelatron: Burning Man 2012, The Clocktower Gallery, and now Times Square.

My favourite activity at Burning Man was to curl up and snooze to its music. So naturally I had a little nap at the Times Square installation for old times’ sake.

If you’re in the neighbourhood, you can see/hear it in Times Square before July 26, 2013.
