This post is dedicated to a great food known as Ground Turkey. Like Ground Beef, Ground Turkey can be used in endless delicious recipes. Ground turkey can be used in meals such as: Hamburgers, Chili, Tacos, Burritos, Spaghetti, Lasagna, Sloppy Joes, and so on. These dishes are typically high in fat and cholesterol, and most notably in calories. However, Substituting Ground Turkey for Ground Beef will significantly lower the fat, cholesterol, and calories in each of theses respective dishes. That is of course as long as you choose the leanest turkey.

This technique is designed to help you lower your calorie consumption while still being able to enjoy tasty meals. Remember to watch your portions and exercise regularly to maximize your results. Just because you eat a food that’s lower in calories, fat, and carbs doesn’t mean you can eat as much of it as you want.

So if you cook your own meals try substituting lean ground turkey for recipes that require ground beef. If someone else cooks in your home, encourage them to use lean ground turkey now and then. If you eat out instead of cooking, I encourage you to stay home and cook instead!

So give it a try, I think youll like it. If not, try a different brand, some taste better than others. Turkey is a great lean meat and tastes very good. I hope you like it.

If there ever was a magic pill that could make the pounds melt off never to return, you would not be reading this post right now. Everyone would know about it and everyone would probably be lining up to get it. Of course there are literally hundreds of products out there that claim to be that “Magic Pill”.

Most “Fat Burning” weight loss pills are actually dangerous stimulants that artificially raise your metabolism. While this may actually work for some, it will only succeed at making others sick. Lets say there is a pill out there that you can take that will make you lose all the weight you want. So what do you do after the weight is gone and you now need to keep it off? Do you keep taking the pills for the rest of your life? What if you develop a tolerance to the active ingredients (most people do) and they stop working? You will likely gain some if not all of the weight back.

The answer is to STOP looking for the quick and easy solution. Understand that you need to make incremental permanent lifestyle changes that will work over the longterm. Avoid the shortcuts, ditch the Magic Pills, forget the Crash Diets, and realize that you make long term commitments for permanent change.

Don’t give up, lasting results will take time but are well worth the effort.

I just made a big claim I know. The burden of proof is on me to prove that colon-cleansing products don’t work, right? WRONG! Here’s why:

First let me make an addendum to my claim by saying that it’s a fact that there is absolutely no scientific evidence whatsoever that colon cleansing products actually work. So why don’t I have to prove they are ineffective? Because anyone putting out these useless products has first made the claim that their products are effective. They often make claims that cleansing products will detoxify your system, prevent disease, and most relevant to this website, help you lose weight. Any weight loss encountered as a result from using colon cleanse products are purely coincidental.

So the bottom line is this: Until any of these companies that sell cleanse products provide scientific evidence to prove their ‘snake oil’ actually works, you should assume that they don’t. But hey don’t take my word for it; below is a link to an article by fitness and weight loss expert Tom Venudo that goes into great detail concerning this point of view. Tom really knows his stuff and this article does a great job at explaining exactly how these products do and don’t work. It’s a good read, check it out.

http://www.burnthefat.com/colon_cleansing_scam.html

My primary concern is that you don’t get caught up in garbage that won’t help you lose weight and keep it off in a healthy and safe way. Colon cleansing products just don’t work; you are better off taking a different route.

The concept of using a daily food log turns most people completely off. This involves effort and time that most people probably don’t have, or at least thats what they think.

It’s true that keeping track of your calories with a daily food log may be a chore in the beginning. However, over a very brief period of time keeping a food log will become routine as any other daily habit in your life.

The benefit to keeping a daily food log is that you will know how many calories you consume as you go through your day. This will give you the ability to much better regulate your daily calorie intake than had you not kept track of what you ate. I use a daily food log myself and it’s very easy to do. (In fact I will soon make my own log availible to anyone that visits this site. As soon as I have a distributable user friendly version I will announce it in a future email newsletter.)

Once you know how many calories per day you should eat, you should employ a food log to maintain that daily calorie limit. If you don’t like the idea of a food log it’s understandable. If you are in this camp, you should really reconsider your position, or at least delay making up your mind. Why not try, or at least consider using a food log? What do you have to lose besides excess pounds? Probably nothing. Enough of that for now. If you decide to use a daily food log as part of your weight loss strategy than good for you.

Remember to keep an eye on your in-box for news about my calorie tracking system. If you don’t get the newsletter, you can subscribe on the homepage of this website.

Hello everyone,

This will be a shorty but a goody. One of the most fundamental principals to losing weight is to watch what you eat. This cannot be avoided for most, sorry people that’s just is the way it is. The best way to do this is to monitor and regulate your daily caloric intake.

Unfortunately most people find this to be a big pain in the rear, and I agree. For me, and most people I talk to, the biggest pain in calorie counting is figuring out how many calories are in that meal you are eating. Yes nutrition information is on just about everything you can get, but what about recipes? When you combine several ingredients to make a meal you have the nutritional information for several ingredients with different portion sizes all combined into one dish. For instance, if you want a bowl of Beef Stew, you would have to add up calories for the veggies, meat, sauce, and then figure out your serving size and calories per serving. How the heck do you calculate how many calories per serving, or even what a serving size would be? This is a common dilemma that can put a motivational hamper on your progress.

The good news is that there is a free tool out there that does all the hard work for you. Just type in your favorite food, and it will come back with every possibility for that particular dish. This search tool will tell you how many calories, serving size, and give you all the macronutrient and micronutrient information for that dish or individual food item. It has everything, or at least I have yet to find a food that it doesn’t have. To use this free and powerful tool, just go to http://www.caloriecount.about.com

You may have found this already with a Google search, but if not you need to check this out!

Thats all for now, until next time.
