فیلم ایرانی-فرانسوی «نیلوفر» با بازی رویا نونهالی و فاطمه معتمد آریا و با کارگردانی یک کارگردان لبنانی در فستیوال انستیتو فیلم آمریکا در لس انجلس به نمایش در می آید.
اين فيلم که قرار است در روزهای اول وسوم نوامبر نمایش داده شود به زندگی دشوار يک دخترعراقی می پردازد توسط يک خانم لبنانی کارگردانی شده اما همه عوامل آن از جمله بازيگران، عوامل پشت صحنه و تهيه کننده ايرانی هستند.
در اين فيلم بازيگرانی چون رويا نونهالی ، شهاب حسينی، فاطمه معتمدآريا ، اميرآقايی و موبينا آينه دار بازی می کنند و تهيه کننده آن فرشته طائرپور است.
در چهل و يکمين دوره فستيوال AFI هم چنين فيلم هايی از چين، آمريکا، آلمان، بريتانيا، ژاپن و ايرلند شرکت دارند. فيلم های «سه زن» ساخته منيژه حکمت و «اسب دوپا» ساخته اخير سميرا مخملباف نيز در اين فستيوال به روی پرده می روند.
فيلم نيلوفر داستان زندگی پرحادثه دختری دوازده ساله به نام نيلوفر است که آرزويی جز خواندن و نوشتن ندارد اما در دهکده ای که او در عراق زندگی می کند تنها پسرها حق تحصيل دارند.
ماجرا از آنجا آغاز می شود که نيلوفر با زنی آشنا می شود که در خفا به او سواد می آموزد در حالي که پدر نيلوفر در تدارک ازدواج او با مردی از اهالی ده است.
سابين جمايل کارگردان زن این فيلم، لبنانی است. او که در لس آنجلس اقامت دارد، در مونترال کانادا تحصيل کرده و پيش از اين به جز ساخت سه فيلم کوتاه، به کار تدوين در سينما پرداخته است.
نيلوفر، اولين فيلم بلند سينمايی او در مقام کارگردان محسوب می شود. فيلم «شک» با بازی مريل استريپ فستيوال را افتتاح کرده و فيلم هايی چون «وندی و لوسی»، «چه» و «برادران بلوم» در اين فستيوال به نمايش در می آيند.
فستيوال فيلم AFI از سی ام اکتبر (دهم آبان) آغاز شده و تا نهم نوامبر (بیستم آبان) ادامه خواهد داشت

There has been quite a hullabaloo in India (and among Indians living outside the country) over the movie “Slumdog Millionaire”: people accusing it of being poverty porn, or balking at the fact that Danny Boyle, who is British, has created a film about slum life that ignores India’s recent economic prosperity. One of the more outraged complaints has been that the title of the movie is derogatory to people living in the slums.
Slum dwellers, organized by activists like Tapeshwar Vishwakarma, have led protests with placards that read: “Don’t call us dogs” and “I am not a slumdog.” Mr. Vishwakarma claims that referring to people in the slums as dogs has violated their human rights. He even filed a lawsuit demanding that the title of the movie be changed.
One can understand where the unhappiness over the title comes from. In Indian culture, dog — “kutte” in Hindi — has been deemed a derogatory appellation for centuries. It is often used in the excessive rants of Bollywood villains.
Clearly, the term “slumdog” is not the director’s evaluation of the main character — or anyone in the slums.
But I have a feeling that the people protesting against the title either have not seen the movie, or have not understood the context in which the word was used. In the movie, the word “slumdog” is never used as a general description of the people of the slums.
It is used in a very specific setting: the angry police inspector, when he is violently interrogating the hero, Jamal, whom he suspects of cheating on the “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” show, scoffs: “What can a slumdog possibly know?” At this point in the movie, the inspector is the antagonist — certainly not a character with whom we are expected to agree.
By the end of the movie, the inspector has changed his attitude toward Jamal completely. He believes him, sets him free and roots for him to win. Clearly, the term “slumdog” is not the director’s evaluation of Jamal — or anyone in the slums. If anything, by the end of this gritty yet upbeat movie, Jamal triumphs over his many enemies and turns out to be top dog!
A Cause for Hindu Extremists
Amresh Sinha teaches film and media studies at New York University, the City University of New York and the School of Visual Arts and is the co-editor of the forthcoming “Millennial Cinema: Memory in Global Film.”
Since India has joined the ranks of global powers, there has been a growing backlash in the country against all things Western, especially Western culture. Indeed, “Slumdog” is only the latest example of attacks on Western ideas or symbols of Western culture. After the scandalous smooch Richard Gere gave the Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, Mr. Gere’s effigy was burned in many cities, events that were widely covered by the Indian media. A radical Hindu judge in Jaipur issued a warrant for Mr. Gere’s arrest on public obscenity charges.
Frightened by the spectacular pace of change in India, agents of intolerance — the xenophobic cultural renegades of Hindu militant nationalists and their leftist counterparts — have upped the ante by rallying the masses to their anti-Western cause. Although the protests might not add up to more than a tempest in a teapot stirred primarily to seek maximum publicity for individuals and organizations, they have certainly cashed in on the immense popularity of the film. If “Slumdog Millionaire” were a big flop, would there have been any protests in India?

By protesting the title of the film, the people from the slums and poor regions are expressing their discontent with a modernizing India in which their lives have not been bettered. A legitimate grievance, to be sure, but these controversies must not be seen as simply a protest against cultural insult. They are part of a greater effort by some of the most conservative, communal elements in India that came to their full bloom during the Bhartiya Janta Party’s rule (1998-2004).
People in Patna (my hometown), a city in eastern India, where a case has been filed in the High Court against the title, were so outraged by the word “dog” in the title that they ended up ransacking a local theater where the film opened. The Gujarat High Court has accepted a petition from Dastak (a nongovernment organization) to make the Central Board of Film Certification, the censor board of India, a respondent. In Goa, Janjagruti Samiti, a Hindu organization, has demanded a ban on the release of the film for depicting the Indian god Ram in a denigrating way. More cases have been filed against the film in cities like Mumbai, Ahmadebad, Nagpur.
I think these protests are pre-emptive measures to deflect and avert attempts to recall the communal violence in which Hindu fascists killed hundreds of Muslims in Mumbai in 1992 and 1993, an assault which is graphically depicted in the beginning of the film. These Hindu fascists were aided in their attacks by both Shiv Sena, a regional arch-right-wing Hindu party in the state of Maharashtra, and the B.J.P., which came to power in the next general election. Many other political groups have now joined the feeding frenzy around the controversy to promote their own political agendas in the coming election in India by whipping up anti-Western sentiments among the slum dwellers, who constitute a major voting bloc.
The sheer hypocrisy of this controversy lies in the fact that the outcries are about getting the votes of poor slum residents who deserted the B.J.P. and Shiv Sena en masse in the last elections for the more progressive, liberal and secular Congress Party. “Slumdog Millionaire” happens to be a cause célèbre for the right-wingers to consolidate their political stronghold among the poorest of the poor by claiming that the West looks down upon them, a strategy that sometimes works because of India’s long history of being subjected to British rule. To suggest, however, that “Slumdog Millionaire” is an insult to the slum residents of Dharavi in Mumbai is as disingenuous as the film’s premise: a rags-to-riches fable.
Squalor, Not Scenery

In India, dogs are rarely the beloved pets they are in the United States — instead they are widely considered to be unclean, inauspicious and, in some cases, unsafe. So it was unsurprising when the use of the word “dog” in the title of “Slumdog Millionaire” aroused controversy in India, sparking a flurry of media attention and providing a platform for the consternation of several slum activists, Bollywood actors and members of the international press.

These unlikely allies argue that the film portrays India, and residents of the Dharavi slum where it was shot, in a negative light. Alice Miles of The Times of London goes so far as to suggest that the film is an example of “poverty porn” — where the suffering of the Indian poor is served up as a perverse form of First World voyeurism.
The film’s screenwriter Simon Beaufoy claims he coined the word “slumdog” without meaning to offend; he has said in interviews that he merely “liked the word.” His use of the word “dog” was a problematic choice he made arbitrarily, and clearly without doing enough research. But the outcry is perhaps more indicative of deeper rifts in India’s tumultuous struggle to establish itself as a modern power.
In the film, the director Danny Boyle uses a grab bag of recognizable Indian symbols — the Taj Mahal, cricket, Amitabh Bachchan — with which to make his film accessible and entertaining to Westerners. The Dharavi slum as depicted in the film, indeed the very notion of poverty itself, is merely one of these tropes. Choosing to represent squalor as colorful scenery may be in questionable taste, but it’s hardly pornography.
More troubling than Mr. Boyle’s facile characterization of life in Asia’s largest slum is how the national argument over India’s representation in popular culture seeps into the urban solutions proposed for Dharavi, notably a new redevelopment plan which would demolish the slum and relocate some of its residents to a complex of towers. This may be seen as an effort to put India’s best foot forward, a sentiment that goes hand in hand with Bollywood’s glossy view of reality. But the plan has little bearing on how Dharavi actually works; a complex structure of linked marketplaces, small factories and informal businesses. If the uproar over the film’s title can be channeled toward improving conditions in Indian slums — informed by the real-life needs of its residents — then “Slumdog Millionaire,” clichéd or not, will have been a success worth lauding.

به جهان گشود

او در اوان نوجواني به استعدادهاي خويش در خواندن پي برد و شروع به خواندن در

يک گروه دوستانه به نام

sun boys کرد و خواندن در باشگاهها و کاخ هاي جوانان را آغاز کرد و پس از چند سال ،

در آغاز جواني اولين ترانه ي مستقل خود را اجرا کرد . اين اثر ترانه اي

بود با نام "عطش" از ساخته هاي " استاد حسين واثقي "براي فيلمي با همين عنوان. "ابي" اين ترانه را با چنان قدرت و زيبايي اجرا کرد که توجه بسياري را به خود جلب کرد.
ابي به اين ترتيب پا به عرصه ي ترانه گذاشت و آغازگر سبکي تازه در ترانه نوين ايران شد. او با اتکا بر صداي توانمند و بي نظيرش پا به عرصه پر فراز و نشيب ترانه گذاشت. او از همان روزهاي اول و آثار نخستينش نشان داد که حرفهاي بسياري براي گفتن دارد و مي تواند تأثير به سزايي در شکلگيري ترانه نوين ايران که آن روزها چند سالي بيشتر از عمرش نمي گذشت داشته باشد

دومين ترانه او ترانه اي بود اعتراضي به نام "چرا" ، با شعر "مسعود هوشمند" و آهنگ "استاد حسين واثقي " که به سبک و شيوه اي بسيار زيبا توسط او خوانده شد. اما سومين آهنگي که "ابي" اجرا کرد و به گفته خودش باعث معروفيت او شد ترانه اي به نام "شب" بود با "شعر "اردلان سرفراز" و آهنگ "منصور ايران نژاد " که در شوي "ميخک نقره اي" زنده ياد "فريدون فرخزاد" به گوش مردم رسيد. اين ترانه به خاطر شعر و موسيقي قوي و همچنين اجراي عالي خواننده بسيار مورد توجه قرار گرفت و همگان را به تحسين واداشت.
ابي در همين دوران با شهبال و شهرام شبپره آشنا شد و با ايشان شروع به همکاري در گروهي کرد که در آن روزگار يکي از بهترين گروههاي موسيقي در ايران بود. بله او مدتي با گروه Black cats همکاري کرد و شبهاي بسياري را در کاباره ي "کوچيني" به روي صحنه رفت و تجربه کسب کرد . اما پس از مدتي فعاليت خود را با اين گروه قطع کرد و کارش را به صورت مستقل و به تنهايي ادامه داد .
واين آغاز کار هنرمندي بود که فريادش تبديل به صداي در گلو خفه شده مردم ايران شد

"ابي" کارش را با همين سبک و سياق ادامه داد ودر طول سالهاي پيش از انقلاب ده ها ترانه اجرا کرد. که اين ترانه ها در سالهای بعد از انقلاب در قالب چهار آلبوم منتشر شد . اين آلبومها به ترتيب "تپش" ، "نازي ناز کن" ،"شب زده" و"کوه يخ" نام داشت. او در اين چهار آلبوم آثاري جاويدان از بهترين ترانه سرايان و آهنگسازان

ايران را اجرا کرد

ابي همچنان در آن سالها بر روي تعداد زيادي از فيلمها ترانه خواند و سکانسهايي ماندگار از تلفيق هنر کارگردانان ، بازيگران و صداي "ابي" ساخته شد.
از جمله فيلمهايي که "ابي" براي آنها ترانه خواند مي توان به فيلمهاي : عطش ، هياهو ، تپش ، کندو ، ذبيح ، قاصدک ، بت شکن ، گل هاي کاغذي ، شب زخمي ، خاکستري ، باغ بلور ، تهمت ، بر فراز آسمانها و بوي گندم اشاره نمود. همچنين او در زمينه بازيگري هم يک بار خود را آزمود و در فيلم "بوي گندم" ايفاي نقش کرد .
"ابي" دو سال پيش از انقلاب براي اجراي يک سري کنسرت در آمريکا از ايران خارج و به دليل شکل گرفتن انقلاب در ايران در آمريکا ماندگار شد .

ابراهيم حامدي در سالهاي سخت و سنگين غربت نيز قدمي از راه خود پا پس نکشيد و خود را در بازار غير مسيول "لوس آنجلس" رها نکرد و با سختي زياد به انجام کار درست با ترانه سرايان و آهنگسازان مسيول و نام آشنا ادامه داد. او در طول سالهاي غربت تا به امروز دوازده آلبوم منتشر کرده است که به ترتيب انتشار عبارتند از : با تو ، غريبه ، خليج ، ستاره دنباله دار ، معلم بد ، اتل متل ، ستاره هاي سربي ، عطر تو ، پير ، تاج ترانه ، طلوع کن و شب نيلوفري .
" ابي" در تمامي اين سالها چه قبل و چه بعد از انقلاب و از همان کارهای آغازين خود و در طول سالهای غربت هيچگاه مسيوليت خود را نسبت به ايران و وضعيت مردم آن فراموش نکرده است و هميشه ترانه هاي ملي و ميهني و ترانه هاي معترض را در کنار ترانه هاي عاشقانه اجرا کرده و به سمع دوستداران صدايش رسانده است . ترانه هايي چون : چرا ، شب ، پاينده باد ايران ، روستايی ، هم غصه ، پير ، خليج فارس ، گل سرخ ، خانه سرخ ، خورشيد بي حجاب ، نون و پنير و سبزي ، اتل متل ، معلم بد ، طلوع کن ، هلا ، درخت ، سياه پوشها و چندين و چند ترانه ديگر از اين دست. او با انتخاب و اجراي اين آثار نشان داده که نسبت به مردم و ميهنش چه احساس ناب و خالصي دارد و اوج اين احساس را در ترانه "خليج فارس" که بي شک يکي از زيباترين آثار خلق شده در تاريخ ترانه نوين ايران مي باشد مشاهده مي کنيم ترانه اي که در زمان اجرايش توسط "ابي" اشک لذت و غرور و ميهن پرستي را بر ديگان هر ايراني جاري مي سازد .

ابي در اجراي کنسرت نيز به موفقيتهاي بسياري دست يافته و درهاي سالنهاي بزرگ و مشهور در جهان را به روي ايرانيان باز کرده و با اتکا بر توان بالاي صدايش در اجراهاي زنده و همچنين ترانه هاي خاطره ساز و محبوبش سالانه هزاران ايراني را در اين سالنها در اقصي نقاط جهان گرد هم مي آورد و برايشان از "عشق" مي خواند . از جمله سالنهای نامداری که ابی در آنان برنامه اجرا کرده مي توان به اين سالنها اشاره کرد :
يونيورسال آمفي تياتر (لوس آنجلس) ، شراين آدوتوريوم (محل برگزاري مراسم اسکار) ، گريک تياتر (لوس آنجلس) ، کندي سنتر (واشنگتن) ، اپراي سيدني (همراه با ارکستر سمفوني سيدني ) ، سالن سلطنتي نوبل (استکهلم ) ، کويين آمفي تياتر (ونکوور) ، گلوين (سالن بين المللي سويد ) ، فيلارمونيک برلن (برلين) ، گلف دبي (سالن بين المللي دبي) ، اويشن کلاب (سالن بين المللي دبي ) ، کنسرت هاوس (يوتبوري) و ...
"ابي" در تمام دوران هنري اش با بهترين ترانه سرايان و آهنگسازان ايران همکاري داشته و بهترين آثار آنان را اجرا نموده است. شايد از اصلي ترين دلايل موفقيت او و ماندگار شدن آثار او در طول بيش از سي سال همين همکاري هاست ، که حاصلش خلق ترانه هايي ماندگار در ترانه نوين ايران مي باشد . از جمله بزرگاني که "ابي" با آنها همکاري داشته است مي توان به ترانه سراياني چون : ايرج جنتي عطايي ، اردلان سرفراز ، شهيار قنبري ، ليلا کسري(هديه) ، منصور تهراني ، زويا زاکاريان ، هما مير افشار و غيره اشاره کرد و از آهنگسازاني چون زنده ياد واروژان ، بابک بيات ، فريد زلاند ، سياوش قميشي ، محمد شمس ، اسفنديار منفرد زاده و غيره نام برد .

حتي اگر محمود نظاري، هيچ پيش‌زمينه‌اي از شما نداشته باشد اما باور كنيد مصاحبه با او كار دشواري است. اول اينكه رئيس هيئت مديره يك شركت نرم‌افزاري بزرگ است و قاعدتا همواره مشغله‌هاي بسياري دارد. به همين دليل دريافت وقت براي انجام اين كار شايد نيازمند صبر ايوب باشد. اما دشواري ديگري كه پس از دريافت وقت نمايان مي‌شود شخصيت و منش آكادميكي است كه نظاري همواره در طول گفت‌وگو از آن به بهترين نحو استفاده مي‌كند. چنانچه حتي شما به عنوان گفت‌وگو كننده مجبور خواهيد بود با سوالات متفاوت جريان گفت‌وگو را به نحوي هدايت كنيد كه كمتر نظري و بيشتر مصداقي باشد. با توجه به اين خصوصيات گفت‌وگو را با سوالاتي در خصوص به بورس رفتن همكاران سيستم آغاز كرديم و سعي كرديم در ادامه سوالات را به نحوي هدايت كنيم تا پاسخ‌هايي دريافت كنيم كه وضعيت همكاران سيستم، بازار نرم‌افزار و چالش‌ها و موفقيت‌هاي اين شركت و حتي خصوصيات شخصي نظاري در آن نمايان باشد. گفت‌وگوي ما با محمود نظاري حدود 2 ساعت به طول انجاميد كه قاعدتا امكان چاپ كامل آن به دليل محدوديت ما در اختصاص صفحه و همچنين سخت‌گيري نظاري امكان‌پذير نبود.
فكر كنم پيش از طرح هر سوالي بد نباشد اول با اين قضيه شروع كنيم كه بالاخره جريان به بورس رفتن همكاران سیستم چه شد؟همين سه شنبه صبح (2 هفته پيش ) با بورس جلسه داريم و...پس در كل يواش‌يواش تاريخ‌هايي كه شما طي آنها قول ورود به بورس را داده‌ بوديد، در حال نزديك تر شدن هستند!بله، اما بگذاريد در مورد همين جلسه اي كه قرار است سه شنبه برگزار شود به شما بگويم چه اتفاقي خواهد افتاد؛ قرار بود قبل ازپايان سال 86 اميدنامه شركت را به سازمان بورس بدهيم تاروي سايت بورس قرار بگيرد اما هنوز هم اگر شما به سايت بورس مراجعه كنيد خواهيد ديد كه شركت ما همچنان داخل فهرست انتظار قرار دارد. در آن زمان بورس به ما اعلام كرده بود كه اگر تا 28 همان ماه اميدنامه را ارائه نكنيم، همكاران سيستم را از ليست پذيرش حذف مي‌كنند اگر چه من معتقد بودم اين ضرب الاجل ها خيلي هم دقيق نيست. به هر حال متعهد شديم و اميدنامه را فرستاديم. چراكه فكر مي‌كرديم اجازه ورود داده خواهد شد كه نشد. مي خواستيد پيش‌بيني تان را درباره جلسه روز سه شنبه مطرح كنيد !الان توضيح مي دهم، به گمان من سازمان بورس تمايل دارد براي شركت‌هاي دانش محور يك بورس جداگانه مانند بورس نفت و گاز و فولاد تشكيل دهد و مي‌خواهند از انرژي و توان ما استفاده كنند تا به پشتوانه ما بورس شركت هاي دانش‌محور شكل بگيرد.شما با اين قضيه موافقيد؟به نظر من اين قضيه خيلي منصفانه نيست. چرا كه انجام دادن كار يك صنعت به دست يك شركت كار درستي نيست. يكي ديگر از مواردي كه پيش‌بيني مي‌كنم اين است كه احتمالا به ما بگويند چون سرمايه شما 8 ميليارد؛يعني كمتر از 10 ميليارد تومان است؛ پس بايد به تابلوي فرعي برويم .اين در حالي است كه هم اكنون در حال افزايش سرمايه هستيم ، فكر مي‌كنم تا ماه آينده به 12 يا 13 ميليارد تومان برسد. دوست دارم شما ليست سرمايه‌گذاري‌هاي همكاران سيستم رادر سال هاي گذشته ببينيد قطعا درخواهيد يافت كه طي اين 20 سال همواره در همكاران سيستم سرمايه‌گذاري ‌كرده ايم چنانكه هر سال يكبار حدودا سرمايه‌ شركت را 50 تا 60 درصد افزايش داده ايم، بگذريم از اينكه در مقاطعي 500 درصد به سرمايه‌ شركت اضافه كرده ايم. واقعا تمام درآمد خود را در شركت سرمايهگذاري كردهايم ، به همين دليل شركت دائما توسعه پيدا ميكند.در صورتي كه پيش بيني هاي شما درست از كار درآيد چه موضعي خواهيد گرفت ؟ موضع‌ماخيلي مشخص ومعين است. ما هر وقت ببينيم كه اصول رعايت نمي‌شود بر موضع قانوني خود پافشاري ميكنيم. مثالي كه در اين مورد مي توانم براي شما بگويم قضيه معافيت مالياتي شركتهاي IT است. حدود 7 سال پيش با جمعي از اعضاي انجمن شركت‌هاي انفورماتيك در كميسيون‌هاي مجلس حاضر شديم. هدف ما اين بود كه شركت‌هاي IT تا چهار يا پنج سال از ماليات معاف باشند اين در همه‌جاي دنيا به منظور كمك به توسعه صنعت IT متداول است. پيگيري هاي ما باعث شد اين خواسته منطقي و صنفي به شكل قانون در مجلس تصويب شود. اما مراجع تشخيص ماليات به آن عمل نكردند و پس از تشكيل شوراي عالي مالياتي و مراجعه ما به ديوان عدالت اداري و تحمل فشارهاي فراوان، بالاخره اين قانون اجرا شد ودر نهايت موضوع به نفع ما و كل صنف فيصله يافت چنانكه رونوشت نامه مزبور را به سازمان نظام صنفي فرستادند. ارتباط اين قضيه به بورس را متوجه نشدم! منظورم اين بود كه موضع ما اين است كه پرانرژي، شفاف و منطقي حقوق قانوني خود را پيگيري مي كنيم. دو سال پيش به ما مجوز ورود به بورس دادند و گفتند شما بايد حتما ظرف شش ماه بياييد. فقط 2 مورد اطلاعات بيشتر خواستند كه تكميل اطلاعات مربوط به سهامداران‌ شركت بود و ديگري خواسته بودند كه سهامداران تعهد بدهند تااگر لازم شد سهامشان را در عرض شش ماه تا 20 درصد در بورس عرضه كنند، ما هم اين كارها را انجام داديم. اما ناگهان وضعيت سازمان بورس تغيير كرد و شركت سهامي بورس شكل گرفت. در حال حاضر هم فضا به گونه اي شده است كه بيشتر دست اندركاران بورس تائيد مي‌كنند كه همكاران سيستم شركت بسيار خوبي است و حضور آن در بورس ميتواند تاثير مثبتي روي شركت‌هاي IT داشته باشد. امااز طرفي اين مسئله هم از سوي بورس مطرح ميشود كه در آمريكا سهام تمام شركت‌هاي IT، به صورت OTC يعني Over The Counter معامله مي شود. پس حالا مي‌خواهند شما OTC بشويد؟ جالبي اين موضوع همين است، چرا كه من معتقدم مقايسه شركتهاي IT درآْمريكا با شركتهاي IT در ايران، به دليل ابعاد بزرگ و تعدد اين شركتها، مثل مقايسه فيل و فنجان است كه قطعا مقايسه درستي نيست. اما جدا از اين اختلافات تئوريك، من ترديد ندارم كه ما ميخواهيم اين مسئله در مسير درست پيش برود. به اين معني كه اگر ورود به بورس، ارزش افزوده‌اي براي شركت ايجاد نكند، در تصميم خود تجديد نظر مي كنيم.الان مي‌توانيد دوباره زمان ورود به بورس را اعلام كنيد؟نه نمي‌توانم. فقط مي‌توانم بگويم تمايل و اراده ورود به بورس را به صورت جدي داريم و تمام شرايط لازم را هم دارا هستيم منتها اعلام زمان براي اين كار بر مي‌گردد به شرايط و ضوابط داخلي بورس. البته تاكيد مي كنم اگر ما به اين نتيجه برسيم كه ورود به بورس به شركت لطمه مي زند حتما نمي‌پذيريم چرا كه همكاران سيستم هيچ محدوديتي براي جذب سرمايه ندارد از همين رو مجبور نيست به اين دليل وارد بورس شود.دليل اصرارتان براي ورود به بورس چيست؟ با در نظر گرفتن اين موضوع كه شرايط اقتصادي مناسبي براي ورود به آن وجود ندارد چرا اينقدر تمايل داريد خلاف عرف روند تجارت بومي كه در ميان بسياري از شركت ها خصوصا سخت افزاري مرسوم است، حركت كنيد؟با در نظر گرفتن اين موضوع كه هيچ چيز در كسب و كار قطعی نيست، نمي‌توانيد بگوييد قطعا كدام رويكرد درست و كدام غلط است! به اين موضوع هم توجه كنيد شايد بسياري از شركت ها سرمايه‌گذاري‌ در عرصه هاي ديگر را ترجيح بدهند و استراتژي تنوع را دنبال كنند اما ما تنها روي نرم افزار كار مي كنيم و استراتژي تمركز را دنبال كرده ايم. من با علاقه اين بازار را دنبال مي‌كنم و حتي دوست دارم زماني به عنوان ژورناليست IT همكار شما باشم. در ادبيات كلاسيك مديريت ايده‌هاي منطقي بسياري وجود دارد و اما مدل اقتصادي من به من مي‌گوید كه بازار IT در ايران در حال تحول و شكل‌گيري است و حتما شكل امروز آن شكل فرداي آن نيست و حتما اگر بورس آن بخواهد كار كند از گذشته‌هايش باز مي‌گردد. اگر من بتوانم در اين بورس باقي بمانم، فشارها را تحمل كنم ولي ضربه نخورم. آن زمان من يك IT كار قديمي و جا افتاده به حساب مي‌آيم كه جايگاه خود را دارم و به راحتي مي‌توانم از مديريت يك شركت نرم‌افزاري بربيايم و هم با آدم‌هاي اطرافم ارتباط بهتري داشته باشم. در يك شركت سخت‌افزاري ممكن است افراد به اندازه يك شركت نرم‌افزاري اهميت نداشته باشند چون در آن جا محوریت با محصول است نه با فکر افراد ولی در حوزه نرم‌افزار این‌طور نیست و اصرار ما براي ورود به بورس رسيدن به يك بازار متحول و داشتن يك جايگاه بالا است.در حال حاضر سهامداران چه نفر هستند؟ سهامداران شركت نزديك به 300 نفر هستند.منظورم سهامداران عمده بود.سهامداران عمده حدود 15 نفر هستند.از هيئت موسس الان چند نفر داخل تركيب سهامداران هستند؟از هيئت موسس سه نفراوليه در حال حاضر حدود 30، 40 يا 50 درصد سهام را دارند.جوابتان خيلي واضح نبود. چون من مي‌خواستم وضعيت مديريتي‌تان را درك كنم. سهام مديريتي‌مان به اين گونه است كه هيئت مديره حدود 85 درصد كل سهام را دارد، يعني سهام مديريتي‌مان و به تبع آن ميزان تاثيرگذاري‌مان بالاست. حالا نه اينكه خداي نكرده بخواهم تعريف بي‌مورد بكنم چنانچه ممكن است يك جريان كاريزماتيك به نظر برسد ولي اگر شما در يكي از جلسات داخلي شركت حضور داشته باشيد از ميزان پذيرش نظرا ت مديريت توسط بچه‌هاي شركت تعجب مي‌كنيد. چرا كه واقعا بچه‌ها فکر مي‌كنند كه ايده‌هايي كه مطرح مي‌شود براي همكاران سيستم بسيار موثر است و راي قاطع مي‌دهند.اين تفاهم يك كمي عجيب نيست؟چون به نظر شما سيستم سالم سيستمي است كه حتما در آن 60 درصد موافق باشند، 40 درصد مخالف اين درحالي است كه علت اين تفاهم اين است كه بچه‌هادر شركت محيط اطرافشان را به خوبي مي‌شناسند، وضعيت بازار نرم‌‌افزار را كاملا درك مي‌كنند يا دست‌كم به لحاظ نظري ليست شركت‌هاي نرم‌افزاري دستشان است و برخي از آنهادر دو سه جاي ديگر كار كرده‌اند و مي‌دانند آنها هرسال بر سر حقوقشان مذاكره مي كنند ، مكتوب وجود دارد كه ما با 700 نفر همكارمان رودرو صحبت مي‌كنيم و توافق مي‌كنيم كه چقدر دريافتي داشته باشند. اصلا اين امر براي شما قابل تصور است كه ما براي هر كس با جزئيات نقاط قوت و ضعفش را بنويسيم. آنها هم مي‌نويسند كه اشكالات شركت چيست؟ ما در همكاران سيستم اين گونه به جمع بندي مي رسيم.الان هيئت مديره شامل چه كساني است؟ما يك هيئت مديره اصلي داريم و يك هيئت مديره گسترش يافته يا همان Extended Board اين هيئت مديره دوم، علاوه بر اعضاي هيئت مديره اصلي، شامل كساني است كه براي دو سه سال آينده آماده مي‌شوند: مديرعامل كارخانه نرم‌افزار، معاون كارخانه نرم‌افزار، معاونت مديريت محصول، مديرعامل شركت مهندسي شبكه (مشورت)، مدير واحد مهندسی فروش جزو هيئت مديره دوم هستند كه به تدريج وارد هيئت مديره مي‌شوند.اين به تدريج چه موقعي است؟منظور از به تدريج، احتمالا حدود سه سال آينده است. در واقع اين گونه نخواهد بود كه يكدفعه هيئت مديره منفجر شود بلكه مرحله به مرحله و نفر به نفر افراد جديد جايگزين مي‌شوند. براي مثال ممكن است من به علت کهولت سن كنار بروم و بعد بقيه.آئين‌نامه خاصي براي اين جريان وجود دارد؟نه ، شهودي است . به صورت Bubble sort هر چند نفر را بررسي مي‌كنيم يكي را انتخاب مي كنيم. بعد انتخاب شده‌ها را مقايسه مي‌كنيم و همین‌طور ادامه می‌دهیم. با اين روش افراد براي انتخاب شدن تلاش ميكنند. به اين ترتيب، كساني كه نظرات جالبي دارند، ديگران دوستشان دارند، نگاه خوب تكنيكي و تجاري دارد، شناسايي ميشوند. اين خود يك نوع آموزش است چون ما 50 عضو هیئت مديره در سطح گروه داريم كه مدير 25 شركت عضو گروه هستند. اين به نوعي يك مركز ذخيره مديريت است كه افراد در آن رشد ميكنند. بسياري از آنها اگر شركت خودشان را داشتند مي‌توانستند رقباي خوبي براي ما باشند.هيچ وقت به تحقق همين احتمال هم فكر كرديد؟در حال حاضر هم هر چند وقت يكبار به يكسري از نيرو ها كمك مي‌كنيم كه بروند شركت‌هاي تحت ليسانس ما را راه‌اندازي كنند قاعدتا شما با عملكرد ما در زمينه برون‌سپاري (Outsourcing) آشنا هستيد. الان 22 شركت اين گونه فعاليت مي كنند كه همزمان هم با ما همكاري مي كنند وهم رقابت ، يعني با ما قرارداد دارند اما تجارت خودشان را مي‌‌كنند.صادقانه بگويم سوال مااين است كه چه زماني كلاهك مديريتي اوليه برداشته مي‌شود تا اين شركت هااز دوستان سيستم به همكاران‌سيستم تبديل شود؟هميشه خاطرتان باشد كه موضوع كسب و كار يك فرق اساسي با علوم دقيق ديگردارد. اين تفاوت هم در اين است كه شما در دانشگاه‌ ها با علوم پايه و آخرين دستاوردها و تئوري‌هاي مديريتي و علمي آشنا مي‌شويد اما در عرصه كسب و كار بزرگ‌ترين تئوري‌ها و مدل‌هاي مديريتي را بيزينس‌ها مي سازند وپس از آن دانشگاه‌ها براي آن تئوري مي سازند. براي مثال اگر من الان بروم سر كلاس‌هاي MBA فلان دانشگاه و بپرسم چه درس مي‌دهيد آنها بگويند علوم پايه براي من محرز مي شود از اين كلاس چيزي در نمي‌آيد؛ در واقع من معتقدم درخصوص كسب وكار بايد حتما مصداق‌هاي عملي را بررسي موردي (Case Study) كنيم. شما در تجارت هيچ چيز واقعا مطلق عددي نداريد و نمي توانيد بگوييد فلان چيز فلان طور است. موضوعات و نتايج در بيزينس به صورت "در مجموع" بيان مي‌شود.حالا به نظر شما همكاران سيستم در مجموع چگونه است ؟من مي‌خواهم بگويم كه در مجموع اگر همكاران سيستم را با متوسط بازار بسنجيد، موفق بوده است. براي مثال اگر در دنيا بخواهند وضعيت مري‌لينچ را در بازار سرمايه بررسي كنند، يك نفر از فايننشيال تايمز مي‌آيد اين بازار را نقد مي‌كند چون داخل ذهنش عدد و رقم دارد و به بازار احاطه دارد و كار و تحقيق كرده است. شما خبرنگاران حوزه IT اگر محقق نباشيد به لايه سطحي قضيه خواهيد پرداخت و بحثهاي بيثمري مطرح ميشود. در واقع ادبيات ژورناليستي جايگزين مناسبي براي تحقيق واقعي درباره عملكرد شركتها نيست. شما مي‌توانيد اين مفاهيم را مثل زنبور عسل توسعه و ترويج كنيد. مي‌توانيد روي هر گلي بنشينيد شيره‌اش را بگيريد، برويد بعد عسل خوش‌طعم درست كنيد. من فرض مي‌كنم كه شما آمار داريد و تحقيق كردهايد. با كوادرانت هاي گارتنر حتما آشنايي داريد چون گارتنر بازار را به چند سطح تقسيم مي‌كند و مثلا مي‌گويد اينها سريع عمل مي‌كنند، اينها تابع جريان بازارند و... حتما شما مي‌توانيد به من بگوييد كه جايگاه ما كجاست.فكر مي‌كنم اين همه جوابي كه داديد جواب سوال ما نبود. من درباره جايگاه نپرسيدم.موفقيت در جايگاه است چون هميشه موفقيت نسبي است. راحت باش سوالاتت رو بپرس!من راحتم! بحث اين است كه من نمي‌خواهم گفت و گو با طرح موضوعات نظري پيش برود چون به نظرم شما داريد مصاحبه را به بيراهه مي‌بريد. به خاطر همين توضيحات‌تان را قطع مي‌كنم.ببينيد ممكن است در برخي جاها مدل درك ما با يكديگر فرق داشته باشد مثلا ميزان و مدل درك و تحليل ما از جهان، ديگري ميزان اطلاعات‌مان و سومي هم ميزان عجله‌مان است و مطمئنا شما از من عجول‌تريد چون جوان‌تر هستيد! بدون شك همين‌طور است؛ من فقط نگران تمام شدن وقت مصاحبه بودم. نه، مطمئن باشيد، من با شما هستم! من فلسفه كلي را گفتم؛ اما سوال اصلي‌تان به صورت دقيق و مستقيم از من چيست؟ به نظرتان شريك كردن بدنه‌اي كه همكاران سيستم را تا به اينجا پيش برده تا به امروز در مديريت به لحاظ عملي محقق شده است؟بله، اول اينكه همكاران سيستم در ابتداتوسط 2-3 نفر تشكيل شد اما الان از نظر شريك حداقل 15 نفر هستند پس اين نشان مي‌دهد كه يك نوع لايه‌بندي و شريك كردن وجود دارد.نه لزوما از داخل بدنه.نه، از داخل بدنه اين كار را كرديم چنانكه هيچ يك همديگر رادر بدو امر نمي‌شناختيم همانطور شركاي موسس هم همدیگر رو نمي‌شناختند. موضوع جالب‌تر اين است كه به بازار برويد و ببينيد كه چقدر تركيب شراكت شركت‌ها بعد از چند سال عوض شده است ، اين موضوع مختص ايران هم نيست بلكه در جهان معمول است امادر همكاران سيستم مطلقا تغييري به اين لحاظ بوجود نيامده است؛ تاكيد مي‌كنم مطلق عددي تغيير نكرده؛ يعني اينكه سهامداران اصلي (همان 15 نفر) تغيير نكرده‌اند، اين موضوع بعد از 20 سال نشان‌‌دهنده همان برآيند مثبت است و من باز هم به شما شخصا بگويم كه الان همكاران سيستم شريك كردن لايه‌هاي جديدي را شروع كرده است. به نظر من شريك كردن به اين معنا نيست كه 99 درصد را به ديگران بدهيم و خودمان 1 درصد را برداريم اما قطعا معتقدم كه به عنوان يك انگيزه اقتصادي و يك پيوند فرهنگي حتما بايد لايه‌هاي جديدي را جذب كنيم و حتي امسال هم تصميم داريم 200 نفر ديگر را شريك كنيم.قاعدتا در سهام‌دار كردن هم مثل قسمت‌هاي ديگر، بايد به بدنه اولويت بدهيد تا مسلما انگيزه را در داخل خود سيستم تقويت كنيد.بله، كاملا درست است. اين سيستم انگيزه‌بخش (Incentive) است كه در آمريكا به آن Stock Option مي‌گويند و در آنجا رايج است ، بر اساس آن علاوه بر حقوق ماهيانه افراد و سهامداران، مقداري هم به عنوان Stock Option دريافت مي‌كنند. اين سيستم در مملكت ما هم تا حدودي رايج شده البته در چارچوب قوانين مدني خودمان. به عنوان مثال ما به 40 نفر از مديران Stock Option داديم كه سهامشان بالاتر از بقيه است. پس مي‌بينيد كه سهیم‌کردن بدنه در كشور ما هم وجود دارد. علاوه بر اين موضوع براي تقويت بدنه شركت، از شريك كردن افرادي كه بيش از 2 سال سابقه كار دارند یا آدم‌هاي كليدي هستند یا خودشان شركت داشته و فكر خوبي دارند ولي چندان در شركت‌شان موفق نيستند، هم دعوت می‌کنیم كه علاوه بر فعاليت در شركت خود، با ما هم سهيم شوند.اينكه مي‌خواستيد امسال شركت جديد بگيريد به كجا رسيد؟در حال پردازش مراحل و مطالعه آن هستيم و آن را پيگيري مي‌كنيم.يعني اگر شركتی پس از خواندن اين مصاحبه به همين‌منظور به شما مراجعه كرد و پيشنهاد داد، مي‌پذيريد؟بله حتما، بسيار خوشحال هم مي‌شويم و پيگيري مي كنيم.اين ايده شركت‌هاي زنجيره‌اي كه...موافقی اين لغت زنجيره‌اي را اصلا به كار نبريم؟ مي‌دانيد چرا؟ يكي فله‌اي و يكي زنجيره‌اي؛ هر دو كاملا معناهاي متفاوتي پيدا كرده اند.چرا؟ زنجيره‌اي كه چيز بدي نيست، فكر كردم كه چون شما بين‌المللي نگاه مي‌كنيد از اين لحاظ لغت زنجيره‌اي را مي‌پسنديد... مثل فروشگاه‌هاي زنجيره‌اي مك‌دونالد؛ به نظرتان موفق نبودند؟!!چرا، تجربه كاملا موفقي بود. فرانچایز (Franchise) مك‌دونالد را سال‌ها حتي در دانشگاه‌ها تدريس كرده اند.بله، پس در واقع همكاران سيستم به اين تجربه شركت‌هايي كه به نوعي مديريت واحد دارند افتخار مي‌كند؟ما دو گروه شركت داريم؛ يك گروه شركت‌هايي كه صد در صد سهام آنها را داريم و اتصال آنها از طریق مجمع است و ما براي آنها هيئت مديره منصوب مي‌كنيم كه در واقع همان هيئت مديره در مجامع به ما پاسخ مي‌دهد. ديگري شركت‌هايي هستند كه اصلا در آنها سهم نداريم؛اينها شركت‌هاي تحت ليسانس ما هستند كه در ابتداي سال با ما قرارداد مي‌بندند كه ما بر سر شرايط قرارداد و پذيرش استانداردهاي همكاران سيستم با آنها چانه زني مي‌كنيم.و يكسري شركت هم داريد كه قاعدتا جزو اين دو دسته شركت نيستند و فقط درصدي از سهام در آنها داريد؟بله، 51 درصد سهام، معمولا در آنها سهام مديريتي داريم.روي همين بخش سهام مديريتي داريد كار مي‌كنيد، درسته؟بله، مي‌خواهيم اين قسمت را گسترش دهيم.قاعدتاآن 25 شركت كه مي‌گوييدعضو گروه شما هستند رابه حساب نمي‌آوريد؟ نه آنها جزو شركت ما نمي‌شوند.خيلي از مشتريان دولتي و شركت‌ها به اين ديد به همكاران‌سيستم نگاه مي‌كنند كه همكاران سيستم براي پروژه‌هاي متوسط، چابكي لازم را ندارد؟ البته اين موضوع را مي‌دانم كه همكاران سيستم شركت ارزاني نيست و شايد شما خيلي مواقع در واقع قيمتي مي‌دهد تا آن پروژه را نگيرد؟با آخر حرف‌تان موافق نيستم، چون اصلا چنين موردي وجود ندارد. الان هر كسي فرق بين قيمت و ارزش بنز و تويوتا را مي‌فهمد امااين بحث هم كه هرچه يك سازمان بزرگ‌تر مي‌شود بوروكراتيك‌تر مي‌شود درست است. اما در مورد همكاران‌سيستم اينگونه نشده است چراكه هيئت مديره آن اول سال با هم توافق مي‌كنند تاواقعا مديرعامل‌ها دستشان باز باشدو بتوانند در بازار فعال تر عمل كنند به همين دليل این بحث چندان صحیح نیست. درنتيجه اگراين فرض را بپذيريم اما نقيض آن وجود دارد چراكه همكاران سيستم 700 نفر نيروي كار دارد مي توانيد درآمد سرانه آن را با شركت‌هاي كوچك يا چابك مقايسه كنيد چه كسي بيشتر در مي‌آورد؟ اگر ما بيشتر درآورديم پس متوجه خواهيد‌شد كه اعداد اقتصادي تعريف مي‌كنند كه چه كسي چابك‌تر است!مسئله بيشتر روي طيف درآمد است؛ قاعدتا همكاران سيستم در اين موضوع كه اشاره كرديد جزو شركت‌هاي پردرآمد به شمار مي روداما منظور ما روي طيف كلي درآمد بود.غير از يك شركت كه از ما در‌آمد بيشتري دارد و آن هم عمدتا به سبب دولتي بودنش است ما در بازار آزاد بيشتر از همه درآمد داريم.در اين موضوع كه شما در بازار بيشتر از همه در مي‌آوريد چندان شكي نيست، اما اينكه بگوييد رقم درآمد چقدر است مسلما ما خیلی خوشحال‌تر مي‌شويم!ما اگر خرجش كنيم خوشحال‌تر مي‌شويم.بالاخره مي‌گوييد؟شما چرا اينقدر عجله داريد، بگذاريم برويم ته داستان ببينم به كجا مي‌رسيم.برگرديم به بحث چابك نبودن! اين را بگويم كه دولتي‌ها اتفاقا در مورد ما مي‌گويند كه چرا اينقدر عجول هستيد !درصدي كه در مورد طيف درآمد خود در جلسه مطبوعاتي گفتيد را خاطرم هست كه بر اساس آن قاعدتا دولتي‌ها در بازار شما سهمي ندارند.در واقع ما در بازار آنها سهمي نداريم! ببينيد ما درمورد دولتي‌ها يك فضاي توسعه‌اي جديد داريم به طوريكه 10 درصد از درآمدها از پروژه‌هاي دولتي است ولي قصد داريم تا پايان سال 87 اين فضا را به 20 درصد و در سال 1390 ما مي‌خواهيم درآمد خود را از قبال پروژه‌هاي دولتي به 40 درصد افزايش دهيم. علت اين است كه اساسا مدل برخورد ما با پروژه‌ها طوري نيست كه بخواهيم پروژه‌هاي بزرگ را برداريم،از Back Office آنها شروع مي‌كنيم و به تدريج به Front Office مي‌رسيم و بعد ماژول‌هايي را خواهيم داشت كه مشتري محور (Customizable) باشند؛ مانند SAP و بقيه شركت هاي مطرح كه در دنيا كار مي‌كنند. در واقع ما پروژه‌ها را بر اساس موتور آماده (Engine) پي‌ريزي مي‌كنيم نه اينكه پروژه را از ابتدا بدون پي‌ريزي و طرح شروع كنيم چون اين مدل در دنيا موفق نبوده و حتي در ايران هم توفيق نداشته است؛ بايد بر اساس يكسري Engineهاي آماده كار را شروع كرد. از همين رو معتقديم بايد با اشراف بر يك حوزه شروع كرد و سپس بر آن مسلط شد.اينكه يكسري از حوزه‌ها را مثل پتروشیمی و فولاد را ابتدا فتح و سپس در آنها نفوذ كرده‌ايد، بر اين اساس بوده؟بله، اتوماسيون اداري ما در بسياري از سازمان‌ها و وزارتخانه‌هاي دولتي كاملا جا افتاده و ‌نام تجاري شناخته شده اي داريم. الان داريم روي نظام‌هاي مالي و اداري آنها كار مي‌كنيم تا به همان فضاي 20 درصدی و يا 40 درصدی برسيم كه اين مدل‌ها همانطور كه گفتم بر اساس يك Engine آماده و پروژه بنا به مورد طرح‌ريزي شده‌اند؛ اما پروژه‌هاي بزرگي مثل E-Tax چيزي نيست كه بتوانيم با محصول فعلي خود فكري به حال آن كنيم. بلكه بايد با يك مدل و محصول فكري خارجي آن را پي‌ريزي كنيم. يعني اگر مي‌خواهيم برويم خارج كار كنيم بيشتر به اين دليل است كه درصدديم استراتژي فكري و كاري آنها را بشناسيم و بررسي كنيم و به اتفاق آنها بتوانيم پروژه‌هاي بزرگ را هر كجاي دنيا از جمله ايران اجرا كنيم.تا الان تلاشي كرده‌ايد؟ من يادم هست كه با يك شركت آلماني در اين جهت کار‌هایی كرديد؟بله، دفتر كاري آنها هنوز هم همين اتاق كناري است، ما در اين زمينه موفق نبوديم با اينكه خيلي تلاش كرديم.دليل آن چه بود؟دليل آن مسلما همين شرايط اقتصادي و سياسي روز در كشور است. من نمي‌توانم سه نفر آلماني را اينجا نگه دارم در صورتيكه خودشان چندان علاقه‌اي براي ادامه كار در ايران ندارند يا من نمي‌توانم از مايكروسافت در ايران License باز كنم چون مسلما درخواست من را رد مي‌كنند. حتي نمي‌توانم با شركت‌هاي عربي منطقه ارتباط برقرار كنم يا قرارداد ببندم؛ چرا كه مي‌گويند كشور شما تحريم است و ما نمي‌توانيم با شما كار كنيم.چون اكثر شركت‌هاي عربي هم نماينده شركت‌هاي اروپايي‌اند، نمي‌توانيد از ميانبر استفاده كنيد؟دقيقا، مي‌خواهيم يك شركت با مليت غير ايراني بزنيم. ما بايد قبلا اين كار را مي‌كرديم.پس چرا اين كار را نكرديد؟به خاطر اينكه فكر مي‌كرديم مي‌توانيم همانطور با جايگاه ايراني شركت بزنيم و موفق شويم، هنوز هم وقتي مي‌خواهيم در دبي يا تركيه شركت بزنيم نمي‌توانيم اسم System Group را بدهيم چون در اين صورت به خاطر تحريم ، بعدها با ما كار نمي‌كنند يعني ما در هر محيطي كه هستيم مثل آن فكر مي‌كنيم. هميشه بايد براي درست ديدن در يك محيط n، از محيط n+1 بر آن نگاه كرد تا خوب بتوان محيط n را ديد.زماني شركت‌هايي مثل دلويت و بول خيلي تلاش كردند كه در ايران يك جاپا مثل شما پيدا كنند.فكر كنم پيش از طرح هر سوالي بد نباشد اول با اين قضيه شروع كنيم كه بالاخره جريان به بورس رفتن همكاران سیستم چه شد؟همين سه شنبه صبح (2 هفته پيش ) با بورس جلسه داريم و...پس در كل يواش‌يواش تاريخ‌هايي كه شما طي آنها قول ورود به بورس را داده‌ بوديد، در حال نزديك تر شدن هستند!بله، اما بگذاريد در مورد همين جلسه اي كه قرار است سه شنبه برگزار شود به شما بگويم چه اتفاقي خواهد افتاد؛ قرار بود قبل ازپايان سال 86 اميدنامه شركت را به سازمان بورس بدهيم تاروي سايت بورس قرار بگيرد اما هنوز هم اگر شما به سايت بورس مراجعه كنيد خواهيد ديد كه شركت ما همچنان داخل فهرست انتظار قرار دارد. در آن زمان بورس به ما اعلام كرده بود كه اگر تا 28 همان ماه اميدنامه را ارائه نكنيم، همكاران سيستم را از ليست پذيرش حذف مي‌كنند اگر چه من معتقد بودم اين ضرب الاجل ها خيلي هم دقيق نيست. به هر حال متعهد شديم و اميدنامه را فرستاديم. چراكه فكر مي‌كرديم اجازه ورود داده خواهد شد كه نشد. مي خواستيد پيش‌بيني تان را درباره جلسه روز سه شنبه مطرح كنيد !الان توضيح مي دهم، به گمان من سازمان بورس تمايل دارد براي شركت‌هاي دانش محور يك بورس جداگانه مانند بورس نفت و گاز و فولاد تشكيل دهد و مي‌خواهند از انرژي و توان ما استفاده كنند تا به پشتوانه ما بورس شركت هاي دانش‌محور شكل بگيرد.شما با اين قضيه موافقيد؟به نظر من اين قضيه خيلي منصفانه نيست. چرا كه انجام دادن كار يك صنعت به دست يك شركت كار درستي نيست. يكي ديگر از مواردي كه پيش‌بيني مي‌كنم اين است كه احتمالا به ما بگويند چون سرمايه شما 8 ميليارد؛يعني كمتر از 10 ميليارد تومان است؛ پس بايد به تابلوي فرعي برويم .اين در حالي است كه هم اكنون در حال افزايش سرمايه هستيم ، فكر مي‌كنم تا ماه آينده به 12 يا 13 ميليارد تومان برسد. دوست دارم شما ليست سرمايه‌گذاري‌هاي همكاران سيستم رادر سال هاي گذشته ببينيد قطعا درخواهيد يافت كه طي اين 20 سال همواره در همكاران سيستم سرمايه‌گذاري ‌كرده ايم چنانكه هر سال يكبار حدودا سرمايه‌ شركت را 50 تا 60 درصد افزايش داده ايم، بگذريم از اينكه در مقاطعي 500 درصد به سرمايه‌ شركت اضافه كرده ايم. واقعا تمام درآمد خود را در شركت سرمايهگذاري كردهايم ، به همين دليل شركت دائما توسعه پيدا ميكند.در صورتي كه پيش بيني هاي شما درست از كار درآيد چه موضعي خواهيد گرفت ؟ موضع‌ماخيلي مشخص ومعين است. ما هر وقت ببينيم كه اصول رعايت نمي‌شود بر موضع قانوني خود پافشاري ميكنيم. مثالي كه در اين مورد مي توانم براي شما بگويم قضيه معافيت مالياتي شركتهاي IT است. حدود 7 سال پيش با جمعي از اعضاي انجمن شركت‌هاي انفورماتيك در كميسيون‌هاي مجلس حاضر شديم. هدف ما اين بود كه شركت‌هاي IT تا چهار يا پنج سال از ماليات معاف باشند اين در همه‌جاي دنيا به منظور كمك به توسعه صنعت IT متداول است. پيگيري هاي ما باعث شد اين خواسته منطقي و صنفي به شكل قانون در مجلس تصويب شود. اما مراجع تشخيص ماليات به آن عمل نكردند و پس از تشكيل شوراي عالي مالياتي و مراجعه ما به ديوان عدالت اداري و تحمل فشارهاي فراوان، بالاخره اين قانون اجرا شد ودر نهايت موضوع به نفع ما و كل صنف فيصله يافت چنانكه رونوشت نامه مزبور را به سازمان نظام صنفي فرستادند. ارتباط اين قضيه به بورس را متوجه نشدم! منظورم اين بود كه موضع ما اين است كه پرانرژي، شفاف و منطقي حقوق قانوني خود را پيگيري مي كنيم. دو سال پيش به ما مجوز ورود به بورس دادند و گفتند شما بايد حتما ظرف شش ماه بياييد. فقط 2 مورد اطلاعات بيشتر خواستند كه تكميل اطلاعات مربوط به سهامداران‌ شركت بود و ديگري خواسته بودند كه سهامداران تعهد بدهند تااگر لازم شد سهامشان را در عرض شش ماه تا 20 درصد در بورس عرضه كنند، ما هم اين كارها را انجام داديم. اما ناگهان وضعيت سازمان بورس تغيير كرد و شركت سهامي بورس شكل گرفت. در حال حاضر هم فضا به گونه اي شده است كه بيشتر دست اندركاران بورس تائيد مي‌كنند كه همكاران سيستم شركت بسيار خوبي است و حضور آن در بورس ميتواند تاثير مثبتي روي شركت‌هاي IT داشته باشد. امااز طرفي اين مسئله هم از سوي بورس مطرح ميشود كه در آمريكا سهام تمام شركت‌هاي IT، به صورت OTC يعني Over The Counter معامله مي شود. پس حالا مي‌خواهند شما OTC بشويد؟ جالبي اين موضوع همين است، چرا كه من معتقدم مقايسه شركتهاي IT درآْمريكا با شركتهاي IT در ايران، به دليل ابعاد بزرگ و تعدد اين شركتها، مثل مقايسه فيل و فنجان است كه قطعا مقايسه درستي نيست. اما جدا از اين اختلافات تئوريك، من ترديد ندارم كه ما ميخواهيم اين مسئله در مسير درست پيش برود. به اين معني كه اگر ورود به بورس، ارزش افزوده‌اي براي شركت ايجاد نكند، در تصميم خود تجديد نظر مي كنيم.الان مي‌توانيد دوباره زمان ورود به بورس را اعلام كنيد؟نه نمي‌توانم. فقط مي‌توانم بگويم تمايل و اراده ورود به بورس را به صورت جدي داريم و تمام شرايط لازم را هم دارا هستيم منتها اعلام زمان براي اين كار بر مي‌گردد به شرايط و ضوابط داخلي بورس. البته تاكيد مي كنم اگر ما به اين نتيجه برسيم كه ورود به بورس به شركت لطمه مي زند حتما نمي‌پذيريم چرا كه همكاران سيستم هيچ محدوديتي براي جذب سرمايه ندارد از همين رو مجبور نيست به اين دليل وارد بورس شود.دليل اصرارتان براي ورود به بورس چيست؟ با در نظر گرفتن اين موضوع كه شرايط اقتصادي مناسبي براي ورود به آن وجود ندارد چرا اينقدر تمايل داريد خلاف عرف روند تجارت بومي كه در ميان بسياري از شركت ها خصوصا سخت افزاري مرسوم است، حركت كنيد؟با در نظر گرفتن اين موضوع كه هيچ چيز در كسب و كار قطعی نيست، نمي‌توانيد بگوييد قطعا كدام رويكرد درست و كدام غلط است! به اين موضوع هم توجه كنيد شايد بسياري از شركت ها سرمايه‌گذاري‌ در عرصه هاي ديگر را ترجيح بدهند و استراتژي تنوع را دنبال كنند اما ما تنها روي نرم افزار كار مي كنيم و استراتژي تمركز را دنبال كرده ايم. من با علاقه اين بازار را دنبال مي‌كنم و حتي دوست دارم زماني به عنوان ژورناليست IT همكار شما باشم. در ادبيات كلاسيك مديريت ايده‌هاي منطقي بسياري وجود دارد و اما مدل اقتصادي من به من مي‌گوید كه بازار IT در ايران در حال تحول و شكل‌گيري است و حتما شكل امروز آن شكل فرداي آن نيست و حتما اگر بورس آن بخواهد كار كند از گذشته‌هايش باز مي‌گردد. اگر من بتوانم در اين بورس باقي بمانم، فشارها را تحمل كنم ولي ضربه نخورم. آن زمان من يك IT كار قديمي و جا افتاده به حساب مي‌آيم كه جايگاه خود را دارم و به راحتي مي‌توانم از مديريت يك شركت نرم‌افزاري بربيايم و هم با آدم‌هاي اطرافم ارتباط بهتري داشته باشم. در يك شركت سخت‌افزاري ممكن است افراد به اندازه يك شركت نرم‌افزاري اهميت نداشته باشند چون در آن جا محوریت با محصول است نه با فکر افراد ولی در حوزه نرم‌افزار این‌طور نیست و اصرار ما براي ورود به بورس رسيدن به يك بازار متحول و داشتن يك جايگاه بالا است.در حال حاضر سهامداران چه نفر هستند؟ سهامداران شركت نزديك به 300 نفر هستند.منظورم سهامداران عمده بود.سهامداران عمده حدود 15 نفر هستند.از هيئت موسس الان چند نفر داخل تركيب سهامداران هستند؟از هيئت موسس سه نفراوليه در حال حاضر حدود 30، 40 يا 50 درصد سهام را دارند.جوابتان خيلي واضح نبود. چون من مي‌خواستم وضعيت مديريتي‌تان را درك كنم. سهام مديريتي‌مان به اين گونه است كه هيئت مديره حدود 85 درصد كل سهام را دارد، يعني سهام مديريتي‌مان و به تبع آن ميزان تاثيرگذاري‌مان بالاست. حالا نه اينكه خداي نكرده بخواهم تعريف بي‌مورد بكنم چنانچه ممكن است يك جريان كاريزماتيك به نظر برسد ولي اگر شما در يكي از جلسات داخلي شركت حضور داشته باشيد از ميزان پذيرش نظرا ت مديريت توسط بچه‌هاي شركت تعجب مي‌كنيد. چرا كه واقعا بچه‌ها فکر مي‌كنند كه ايده‌هايي كه مطرح مي‌شود براي همكاران سيستم بسيار موثر است و راي قاطع مي‌دهند.اين تفاهم يك كمي عجيب نيست؟چون به نظر شما سيستم سالم سيستمي است كه حتما در آن 60 درصد موافق باشند، 40 درصد مخالف اين درحالي است كه علت اين تفاهم اين است كه بچه‌هادر شركت محيط اطرافشان را به خوبي مي‌شناسند، وضعيت بازار نرم‌‌افزار را كاملا درك مي‌كنند يا دست‌كم به لحاظ نظري ليست شركت‌هاي نرم‌افزاري دستشان است و برخي از آنهادر دو سه جاي ديگر كار كرده‌اند و مي‌دانند آنها هرسال بر سر حقوقشان مذاكره مي كنند ، مكتوب وجود دارد كه ما با 700 نفر همكارمان رودرو صحبت مي‌كنيم و توافق مي‌كنيم كه چقدر دريافتي داشته باشند. اصلا اين امر براي شما قابل تصور است كه ما براي هر كس با جزئيات نقاط قوت و ضعفش را بنويسيم. آنها هم مي‌نويسند كه اشكالات شركت چيست؟ ما در همكاران سيستم اين گونه به جمع بندي مي رسيم.الان هيئت مديره شامل چه كساني است؟ما يك هيئت مديره اصلي داريم و يك هيئت مديره گسترش يافته يا همان Extended Board اين هيئت مديره دوم، علاوه بر اعضاي هيئت مديره اصلي، شامل كساني است كه براي دو سه سال آينده آماده مي‌شوند: مديرعامل كارخانه نرم‌افزار، معاون كارخانه نرم‌افزار، معاونت مديريت محصول، مديرعامل شركت مهندسي شبكه (مشورت)، مدير واحد مهندسی فروش جزو هيئت مديره دوم هستند كه به تدريج وارد هيئت مديره مي‌شوند.اين به تدريج چه موقعي است؟منظور از به تدريج، احتمالا حدود سه سال آينده است. در واقع اين گونه نخواهد بود كه يكدفعه هيئت مديره منفجر شود بلكه مرحله به مرحله و نفر به نفر افراد جديد جايگزين مي‌شوند. براي مثال ممكن است من به علت کهولت سن كنار بروم و بعد بقيه.آئين‌نامه خاصي براي اين جريان وجود دارد؟نه ، شهودي است . به صورت Bubble sort هر چند نفر را بررسي مي‌كنيم يكي را انتخاب مي كنيم. بعد انتخاب شده‌ها را مقايسه مي‌كنيم و همین‌طور ادامه می‌دهیم. با اين روش افراد براي انتخاب شدن تلاش ميكنند. به اين ترتيب، كساني كه نظرات جالبي دارند، ديگران دوستشان دارند، نگاه خوب تكنيكي و تجاري دارد، شناسايي ميشوند. اين خود يك نوع آموزش است چون ما 50 عضو هیئت مديره در سطح گروه داريم كه مدير 25 شركت عضو گروه هستند. اين به نوعي يك مركز ذخيره مديريت است كه افراد در آن رشد ميكنند. بسياري از آنها اگر شركت خودشان را داشتند مي‌توانستند رقباي خوبي براي ما باشند.هيچ وقت به تحقق همين احتمال هم فكر كرديد؟در حال حاضر هم هر چند وقت يكبار به يكسري از نيرو ها كمك مي‌كنيم كه بروند شركت‌هاي تحت ليسانس ما را راه‌اندازي كنند قاعدتا شما با عملكرد ما در زمينه برون‌سپاري (Outsourcing) آشنا هستيد. الان 22 شركت اين گونه فعاليت مي كنند كه همزمان هم با ما همكاري مي كنند وهم رقابت ، يعني با ما قرارداد دارند اما تجارت خودشان را مي‌‌كنند.صادقانه بگويم سوال مااين است كه چه زماني كلاهك مديريتي اوليه برداشته مي‌شود تا اين شركت هااز دوستان سيستم به همكاران‌سيستم تبديل شود؟هميشه خاطرتان باشد كه موضوع كسب و كار يك فرق اساسي با علوم دقيق ديگردارد. اين تفاوت هم در اين است كه شما در دانشگاه‌ ها با علوم پايه و آخرين دستاوردها و تئوري‌هاي مديريتي و علمي آشنا مي‌شويد اما در عرصه كسب و كار بزرگ‌ترين تئوري‌ها و مدل‌هاي مديريتي را بيزينس‌ها مي سازند وپس از آن دانشگاه‌ها براي آن تئوري مي سازند. براي مثال اگر من الان بروم سر كلاس‌هاي MBA فلان دانشگاه و بپرسم چه درس مي‌دهيد آنها بگويند علوم پايه براي من محرز مي شود از اين كلاس چيزي در نمي‌آيد؛ در واقع من معتقدم درخصوص كسب وكار بايد حتما مصداق‌هاي عملي را بررسي موردي (Case Study) كنيم. شما در تجارت هيچ چيز واقعا مطلق عددي نداريد و نمي توانيد بگوييد فلان چيز فلان طور است. موضوعات و نتايج در بيزينس به صورت "در مجموع" بيان مي‌شود.حالا به نظر شما همكاران سيستم در مجموع چگونه است ؟من مي‌خواهم بگويم كه در مجموع اگر همكاران سيستم را با متوسط بازار بسنجيد، موفق بوده است. براي مثال اگر در دنيا بخواهند وضعيت مري‌لينچ را در بازار سرمايه بررسي كنند، يك نفر از فايننشيال تايمز مي‌آيد اين بازار را نقد مي‌كند چون داخل ذهنش عدد و رقم دارد و به بازار احاطه دارد و كار و تحقيق كرده است. شما خبرنگاران حوزه IT اگر محقق نباشيد به لايه سطحي قضيه خواهيد پرداخت و بحثهاي بيثمري مطرح ميشود. در واقع ادبيات ژورناليستي جايگزين مناسبي براي تحقيق واقعي درباره عملكرد شركتها نيست. شما مي‌توانيد اين مفاهيم را مثل زنبور عسل توسعه و ترويج كنيد. مي‌توانيد روي هر گلي بنشينيد شيره‌اش را بگيريد، برويد بعد عسل خوش‌طعم درست كنيد. من فرض مي‌كنم كه شما آمار داريد و تحقيق كردهايد. با كوادرانت هاي گارتنر حتما آشنايي داريد چون گارتنر بازار را به چند سطح تقسيم مي‌كند و مثلا مي‌گويد اينها سريع عمل مي‌كنند، اينها تابع جريان بازارند و... حتما شما مي‌توانيد به من بگوييد كه جايگاه ما كجاست.فكر مي‌كنم اين همه جوابي كه داديد جواب سوال ما نبود. من درباره جايگاه نپرسيدم.موفقيت در جايگاه است چون هميشه موفقيت نسبي است. راحت باش سوالاتت رو بپرس!من راحتم! بحث اين است كه من نمي‌خواهم گفت و گو با طرح موضوعات نظري پيش برود چون به نظرم شما داريد مصاحبه را به بيراهه مي‌بريد. به خاطر همين توضيحات‌تان را قطع مي‌كنم.ببينيد ممكن است در برخي جاها مدل درك ما با يكديگر فرق داشته باشد مثلا ميزان و مدل درك و تحليل ما از جهان، ديگري ميزان اطلاعات‌مان و سومي هم ميزان عجله‌مان است و مطمئنا شما از من عجول‌تريد چون جوان‌تر هستيد! بدون شك همين‌طور است؛ من فقط نگران تمام شدن وقت مصاحبه بودم. نه، مطمئن باشيد، من با شما هستم! من فلسفه كلي را گفتم؛ اما سوال اصلي‌تان به صورت دقيق و مستقيم از من چيست؟ به نظرتان شريك كردن بدنه‌اي كه همكاران سيستم را تا به اينجا پيش برده تا به امروز در مديريت به لحاظ عملي محقق شده است؟بله، اول اينكه همكاران سيستم در ابتداتوسط 2-3 نفر تشكيل شد اما الان از نظر شريك حداقل 15 نفر هستند پس اين نشان مي‌دهد كه يك نوع لايه‌بندي و شريك كردن وجود دارد.نه لزوما از داخل بدنه.نه، از داخل بدنه اين كار را كرديم چنانكه هيچ يك همديگر رادر بدو امر نمي‌شناختيم همانطور شركاي موسس هم همدیگر رو نمي‌شناختند. موضوع جالب‌تر اين است كه به بازار برويد و ببينيد كه چقدر تركيب شراكت شركت‌ها بعد از چند سال عوض شده است ، اين موضوع مختص ايران هم نيست بلكه در جهان معمول است امادر همكاران سيستم مطلقا تغييري به اين لحاظ بوجود نيامده است؛ تاكيد مي‌كنم مطلق عددي تغيير نكرده؛ يعني اينكه سهامداران اصلي (همان 15 نفر) تغيير نكرده‌اند، اين موضوع بعد از 20 سال نشان‌‌دهنده همان برآيند مثبت است و من باز هم به شما شخصا بگويم كه الان همكاران سيستم شريك كردن لايه‌هاي جديدي را شروع كرده است. به نظر من شريك كردن به اين معنا نيست كه 99 درصد را به ديگران بدهيم و خودمان 1 درصد را برداريم اما قطعا معتقدم كه به عنوان يك انگيزه اقتصادي و يك پيوند فرهنگي حتما بايد لايه‌هاي جديدي را جذب كنيم و حتي امسال هم تصميم داريم 200 نفر ديگر را شريك كنيم.قاعدتا در سهام‌دار كردن هم مثل قسمت‌هاي ديگر، بايد به بدنه اولويت بدهيد تا مسلما انگيزه را در داخل خود سيستم تقويت كنيد.بله، كاملا درست است. اين سيستم انگيزه‌بخش (Incentive) است كه در آمريكا به آن Stock Option مي‌گويند و در آنجا رايج است ، بر اساس آن علاوه بر حقوق ماهيانه افراد و سهامداران، مقداري هم به عنوان Stock Option دريافت مي‌كنند. اين سيستم در مملكت ما هم تا حدودي رايج شده البته در چارچوب قوانين مدني خودمان. به عنوان مثال ما به 40 نفر از مديران Stock Option داديم كه سهامشان بالاتر از بقيه است. پس مي‌بينيد كه سهیم‌کردن بدنه در كشور ما هم وجود دارد. علاوه بر اين موضوع براي تقويت بدنه شركت، از شريك كردن افرادي كه بيش از 2 سال سابقه كار دارند یا آدم‌هاي كليدي هستند یا خودشان شركت داشته و فكر خوبي دارند ولي چندان در شركت‌شان موفق نيستند، هم دعوت می‌کنیم كه علاوه بر فعاليت در شركت خود، با ما هم سهيم شوند.اينكه مي‌خواستيد امسال شركت جديد بگيريد به كجا رسيد؟در حال پردازش مراحل و مطالعه آن هستيم و آن را پيگيري مي‌كنيم.يعني اگر شركتی پس از خواندن اين مصاحبه به همين‌منظور به شما مراجعه كرد و پيشنهاد داد، مي‌پذيريد؟بله حتما، بسيار خوشحال هم مي‌شويم و پيگيري مي كنيم.اين ايده شركت‌هاي زنجيره‌اي كه...موافقی اين لغت زنجيره‌اي را اصلا به كار نبريم؟ مي‌دانيد چرا؟ يكي فله‌اي و يكي زنجيره‌اي؛ هر دو كاملا معناهاي متفاوتي پيدا كرده اند.چرا؟ زنجيره‌اي كه چيز بدي نيست، فكر كردم كه چون شما بين‌المللي نگاه مي‌كنيد از اين لحاظ لغت زنجيره‌اي را مي‌پسنديد... مثل فروشگاه‌هاي زنجيره‌اي مك‌دونالد؛ به نظرتان موفق نبودند؟!!چرا، تجربه كاملا موفقي بود. فرانچایز (Franchise) مك‌دونالد را سال‌ها حتي در دانشگاه‌ها تدريس كرده اند.بله، پس در واقع همكاران سيستم به اين تجربه شركت‌هايي كه به نوعي مديريت واحد دارند افتخار مي‌كند؟ما دو گروه شركت داريم؛ يك گروه شركت‌هايي كه صد در صد سهام آنها را داريم و اتصال آنها از طریق مجمع است و ما براي آنها هيئت مديره منصوب مي‌كنيم كه در واقع همان هيئت مديره در مجامع به ما پاسخ مي‌دهد. ديگري شركت‌هايي هستند كه اصلا در آنها سهم نداريم؛اينها شركت‌هاي تحت ليسانس ما هستند كه در ابتداي سال با ما قرارداد مي‌بندند كه ما بر سر شرايط قرارداد و پذيرش استانداردهاي همكاران سيستم با آنها چانه زني مي‌كنيم.و يكسري شركت هم داريد كه قاعدتا جزو اين دو دسته شركت نيستند و فقط درصدي از سهام در آنها داريد؟بله، 51 درصد سهام، معمولا در آنها سهام مديريتي داريم.روي همين بخش سهام مديريتي داريد كار مي‌كنيد، درسته؟بله، مي‌خواهيم اين قسمت را گسترش دهيم.قاعدتاآن 25 شركت كه مي‌گوييدعضو گروه شما هستند رابه حساب نمي‌آوريد؟ نه آنها جزو شركت ما نمي‌شوند.خيلي از مشتريان دولتي و شركت‌ها به اين ديد به همكاران‌سيستم نگاه مي‌كنند كه همكاران سيستم براي پروژه‌هاي متوسط، چابكي لازم را ندارد؟ البته اين موضوع را مي‌دانم كه همكاران سيستم شركت ارزاني نيست و شايد شما خيلي مواقع در واقع قيمتي مي‌دهد تا آن پروژه را نگيرد؟با آخر حرف‌تان موافق نيستم، چون اصلا چنين موردي وجود ندارد. الان هر كسي فرق بين قيمت و ارزش بنز و تويوتا را مي‌فهمد امااين بحث هم كه هرچه يك سازمان بزرگ‌تر مي‌شود بوروكراتيك‌تر مي‌شود درست است. اما در مورد همكاران‌سيستم اينگونه نشده است چراكه هيئت مديره آن اول سال با هم توافق مي‌كنند تاواقعا مديرعامل‌ها دستشان باز باشدو بتوانند در بازار فعال تر عمل كنند به همين دليل این بحث چندان صحیح نیست. درنتيجه اگراين فرض را بپذيريم اما نقيض آن وجود دارد چراكه همكاران سيستم 700 نفر نيروي كار دارد مي توانيد درآمد سرانه آن را با شركت‌هاي كوچك يا چابك مقايسه كنيد چه كسي بيشتر در مي‌آورد؟ اگر ما بيشتر درآورديم پس متوجه خواهيد‌شد كه اعداد اقتصادي تعريف مي‌كنند كه چه كسي چابك‌تر است!مسئله بيشتر روي طيف درآمد است؛ قاعدتا همكاران سيستم در اين موضوع كه اشاره كرديد جزو شركت‌هاي پردرآمد به شمار مي روداما منظور ما روي طيف كلي درآمد بود.غير از يك شركت كه از ما در‌آمد بيشتري دارد و آن هم عمدتا به سبب دولتي بودنش است ما در بازار آزاد بيشتر از همه درآمد داريم.در اين موضوع كه شما در بازار بيشتر از همه در مي‌آوريد چندان شكي نيست، اما اينكه بگوييد رقم درآمد چقدر است مسلما ما خیلی خوشحال‌تر مي‌شويم!ما اگر خرجش كنيم خوشحال‌تر مي‌شويم.بالاخره مي‌گوييد؟شما چرا اينقدر عجله داريد، بگذاريم برويم ته داستان ببينم به كجا مي‌رسيم.برگرديم به بحث چابك نبودن! اين را بگويم كه دولتي‌ها اتفاقا در مورد ما مي‌گويند كه چرا اينقدر عجول هستيد !درصدي كه در مورد طيف درآمد خود در جلسه مطبوعاتي گفتيد را خاطرم هست كه بر اساس آن قاعدتا دولتي‌ها در بازار شما سهمي ندارند.در واقع ما در بازار آنها سهمي نداريم! ببينيد ما درمورد دولتي‌ها يك فضاي توسعه‌اي جديد داريم به طوريكه 10 درصد از درآمدها از پروژه‌هاي دولتي است ولي قصد داريم تا پايان سال 87 اين فضا را به 20 درصد و در سال 1390 ما مي‌خواهيم درآمد خود را از قبال پروژه‌هاي دولتي به 40 درصد افزايش دهيم. علت اين است كه اساسا مدل برخورد ما با پروژه‌ها طوري نيست كه بخواهيم پروژه‌هاي بزرگ را برداريم،از Back Office آنها شروع مي‌كنيم و به تدريج به Front Office مي‌رسيم و بعد ماژول‌هايي را خواهيم داشت كه مشتري محور (Customizable) باشند؛ مانند SAP و بقيه شركت هاي مطرح كه در دنيا كار مي‌كنند. در واقع ما پروژه‌ها را بر اساس موتور آماده (Engine) پي‌ريزي مي‌كنيم نه اينكه پروژه را از ابتدا بدون پي‌ريزي و طرح شروع كنيم چون اين مدل در دنيا موفق نبوده و حتي در ايران هم توفيق نداشته است؛ بايد بر اساس يكسري Engineهاي آماده كار را شروع كرد. از همين رو معتقديم بايد با اشراف بر يك حوزه شروع كرد و سپس بر آن مسلط شد.اينكه يكسري از حوزه‌ها را مثل پتروشیمی و فولاد را ابتدا فتح و سپس در آنها نفوذ كرده‌ايد، بر اين اساس بوده؟بله، اتوماسيون اداري ما در بسياري از سازمان‌ها و وزارتخانه‌هاي دولتي كاملا جا افتاده و ‌نام تجاري شناخته شده اي داريم. الان داريم روي نظام‌هاي مالي و اداري آنها كار مي‌كنيم تا به همان فضاي 20 درصدی و يا 40 درصدی برسيم كه اين مدل‌ها همانطور كه گفتم بر اساس يك Engine آماده و پروژه بنا به مورد طرح‌ريزي شده‌اند؛ اما پروژه‌هاي بزرگي مثل E-Tax چيزي نيست كه بتوانيم با محصول فعلي خود فكري به حال آن كنيم. بلكه بايد با يك مدل و محصول فكري خارجي آن را پي‌ريزي كنيم. يعني اگر مي‌خواهيم برويم خارج كار كنيم بيشتر به اين دليل است كه درصدديم استراتژي فكري و كاري آنها را بشناسيم و بررسي كنيم و به اتفاق آنها بتوانيم پروژه‌هاي بزرگ را هر كجاي دنيا از جمله ايران اجرا كنيم.تا الان تلاشي كرده‌ايد؟ من يادم هست كه با يك شركت آلماني در اين جهت کار‌هایی كرديد؟بله، دفتر كاري آنها هنوز هم همين اتاق كناري است، ما در اين زمينه موفق نبوديم با اينكه خيلي تلاش كرديم.دليل آن چه بود؟دليل آن مسلما همين شرايط اقتصادي و سياسي روز در كشور است. من نمي‌توانم سه نفر آلماني را اينجا نگه دارم در صورتيكه خودشان چندان علاقه‌اي براي ادامه كار در ايران ندارند يا من نمي‌توانم از مايكروسافت در ايران License باز كنم چون مسلما درخواست من را رد مي‌كنند. حتي نمي‌توانم با شركت‌هاي عربي منطقه ارتباط برقرار كنم يا قرارداد ببندم؛ چرا كه مي‌گويند كشور شما تحريم است و ما نمي‌توانيم با شما كار كنيم.چون اكثر شركت‌هاي عربي هم نماينده شركت‌هاي اروپايي‌اند، نمي‌توانيد از ميانبر استفاده كنيد؟دقيقا، مي‌خواهيم يك شركت با مليت غير ايراني بزنيم. ما بايد قبلا اين كار را مي‌كرديم.پس چرا اين كار را نكرديد؟به خاطر اينكه فكر مي‌كرديم مي‌توانيم همانطور با جايگاه ايراني شركت بزنيم و موفق شويم، هنوز هم وقتي مي‌خواهيم در دبي يا تركيه شركت بزنيم نمي‌توانيم اسم System Group را بدهيم چون در اين صورت به خاطر تحريم ، بعدها با ما كار نمي‌كنند يعني ما در هر محيطي كه هستيم مثل آن فكر مي‌كنيم. هميشه بايد براي درست ديدن در يك محيط n، از محيط n+1 بر آن نگاه كرد تا خوب بتوان محيط n را ديد.زماني شركت‌هايي مثل دلويت و بول خيلي تلاش كردند كه در ايران يك جاپا مثل شما پيدا كنند.ولي در شرايط فعلي، حاضر نيستند در ايران همكاري كنند.چرا؟به خاطر تحريم ها..ولي دلويت و مشابه آن كه در ايران كار كردند، آن هم حتي با پارتنر دولتي!در بسياري از اين شركت‌ها آنچه واقعا شنيده مي‌شود درست نيست. به عنوان مثال من مي‌توانم به عنوان كارمند يك شركت خارجي فعاليت كنم بعد بروم خودم شركت بزنم و آن شركت اصلي هم به من اجازه مي‌دهد به عنوان مشاور ارشد، سرويس بدهم. بعد مي‌روم براي شركت خودم قرارداد ببندم اما اين قرارداد من به شركت اصلي مربوط نمي شود.اين جريان به صورت داخل به خارج هم در همكاران سيستم اتفاق نيفتاده است؟صراحتا به شما مي‌گويم كه در اين زمينه موفق نبوديم. ما در كانادا در اين زمينه موفق نشديم و البته تحريم همه موضوع نبوده. ما ايرادها را هميشه در بيرون از شركت دنبال نمي‌كنيم. مشكل اينجا بود كه 10 سال پيش به اندازه امروز متوجه نبوديم كه اين تداركات را بايد در خارج فراهم كنيم. یعنی باید يك شركت غيروابسته ايراني و غيروابسته به همكاران‌سيستم را تاسيس كنيم كه به عنوان يك ميانبر براي ما عمل كند ولي الان به اين موضوع رسيديم كه اين شركت را بزنيم. برايمان سخت بود كه بپذيريم نبايد از حرمت و شرايط خوبمان استفاده كنيم.پس در اين سال‌ها به دنبال ساختن يك رابط (interface) بوديد.بله دقيقا، اين مسیر در واقع تحول ذهني ما در طي اين سال‌ها بود و الان به دنبال ساختن يك ميانبر (middleware) هستيم! و افسوس مي‌خوريم كه اي كاش 10 سال پيش اين كارها را مي‌كرديم.در 4-5 سال اخير خيلي از شركت‌هاي كوچك ايراني بدون داشتن يك نام ايراني به اين شكل در اين حوزه فعاليت كرده‌اند.من در نرم‌افزار كسي را نمي‌شناسم كه به اين شكل فعاليت كرده باشد، ولي در حوزه سخت‌افزارها خيلي‌ها را مي‌شناسم كه از اين طريق و از راه لنج‌هايي كه از دبي به ايران مي‌آيند فعاليت مي‌كنند و البته نگرانند اگر روزي اين رفت و آمد قطع شود كل كارشان نابود خواهد شد.خوشبختانه تجربه نشان داده اين لنج‌ها به اين زودي‌ها قطع نمي‌شوند.اميدوارم اين چنين باشد. مي‌خواهم اين موضوع را به شما بگويم كه روزگاري اگر يك مغازه داشتيد با اجناس درون آن مي‌توانستيد تجارت كنيد ولي امروز بايد علاوه بر داشتن آن مغازه، در تمامي مغازه‌ها شبكه داشته باشيد! اگر نداشته باشيد دچار مشكل ميشويد، حالا دير يا زود اين اتفاق مي‌افتد.درباره موضوعي كه در خصوص حركت در حوزه‌هاي موازي گفتيد كه همكاران در آن فعاليت مي‌كند خيلي‌ها معتقدند كه همكاران سيستم، شرايط و سرمايه لازم را براي فعاليت در هاستینگ (Hosting )را دارد، چرا در آن ادامه نداديد؟همكاران سيستم جزو اولين شركت‌هايي بود كه هاستینگ را در ايران راه انداخت، بعدا مطمئن شديم كه اين كار ما نيست. چون معتقديم هاستینگ خوب بايد روي يك IP قوي و پرسرعت باشد؛ IP پرسرعت نبايد IP‌ ممنوع باشد و IP ممنوع هم از طرف ديگر نمي تواند هاستینگ خوبي بدهد. اگر قرار است بین‌المللی باشد، حتي اگر مي‌خواستيم هاستینگ خارجي هم داشته باشيم وقتي بفهمند مالكيت آن ايراني است، قطعش مي‌كنند. به همين دلايل هاستینگ را كنار گذاشتيم. اگر روزي هاستینگ ايران يا Data Serverهاي خوب و قوي در ايران راه افتاد ما حتما مي‌توانيم روي آن كار كنيم تا به اين ترتيب بزرگ‌ترين كارآيي را براي دولت ارائه كنيم.سوال ديگرم در مورد بحث نيروي انساني داخل همكاران سيستم است، آنچه كه حاصل گفت‌وگوي ما با كارمندان همكاران‌سيستم بود نشان مي‌داد كه در همكاران سيستم فضا براي رشد همه وجود ندارد. آن ها می گویند که در همکاران سیستم خیلی یاد گرفته اند اما فرصت افزایش درآمد را ندارند. اگر اينطور بود كه شما مي‌گوييد بايد تا الان خيلي از كارمندان درجه يك ما از همكاران سيستم رفته باشند در صورتيكه بسيار انسان‌هاي هوشمندي هستند و اكثرا جزو فارغ‌التحصيلان دانشگاه هاي معتبر به شمار مي‌روند. مطمئنا مي‌دانند كه در همكاران سيستم رشد خواهند كرد كه مي‌مانند.من اتفاقا اين سوال شما را پرسيدم و اين پاسخ را دريافت كردم كه در حقيقت نا به سامان بودن بازار فعلي نرم‌افزار باعث شده تا جايي كه امنيت شغلي بالاتري دارد را انتخاب كنند.به ياد داشته باشيد امنيت مسئله مهمي است.منظورم اين بود كه در واقع اين موضوع براي آنها ترجيحي است نه انتخابي!مطمئنا محدوديت يكي از اجزاي جدا نشدني هر كاري است. خب انتخاب بي‌محدوديت وجود ندارد وگرنه من هم دوست داشتم در Sillicon Valey كار كنم! من معتقدم كه انسان بايد هميشه گزینه‌هاي خود را نگاه كند، نه آرزوهاي خود را. طبيعي است اگر بازار نرم‌افزارخوب باشد ما به عنوان شركتي كه براي اولين بار در آن كار كرديم و زيرساختش را آماده كرديم، بيشترين استفاده را خواهيم برد. اينكه بچه هاي ما تاكيد مي‌كنند خيلي چيزها از همكاران سیستم ياد گرفته‌اند يعني واقعا چيزي وجود داشته كه آنها بخواهند ياد بگيرند. پس اگر روزي بازار نرم‌افزار از اين حالت نا به سامان كه اشاره كرديد عبور كند اولين كسي كه سود می‌برد بچه هاي ما هستند. كلا شما سياستي براي نيروي انساني مبني بر اين داريد كه درآمدها نبايد از يك حد محدودي بالاتر رود؟نه، اتفاقا در اين قسمت يك حلقه بي‌نهايت و غير محدود داريم. حتي اجازه بالا بردن ظرفيت‌ها را هم ايجاد كرده‌ايم به عنوان مثال كسي كه يك ميليون درآمد دارد مطمئنا ما طوري فضا را طراحي كرديم كه اگر خودش بخواهد 2 ميليون درآمد داشته باشد. اين موضوع به خود افراد بستگي دارد و اين محدوديت را ما قائل نيستم. به عنوان مثال ما سال گذشته يك نيرو داشتيم كه توانست در عرض سه ماه، چهار برابر حقوق خود را پاداش گرفت. كل اعضاي هيئت مديره مردد بودند كه اين مبلغ را بدهيم يا نه. چرا كه ممكن است بحران ايجاد كند و من گفتم حتما بايد بدهيم. چون به اين ترتيب نيروهاي ما ياد مي‌گيرند كه براي درآمد بالاتر تلاش بيشتري هم كنند و هيچ بحراني هم ايجاد نمي‌كند.چرا چهار برابر پاداش گرفته بود؟چون پروژه‌هاي بزرگي را پيش برده و بر‌عهده گرفته بود و مشتريان ما هم از او راضي بودند. مطمئنا بزرگ‌ترين مشكلات مديريتي در تعدد نيروهاست كه قوانين پيچيده‌تري را مي‌طلبد. .اگر شرکتی را می بینید که با تعداد بالایی نیروی انسانی خوب کار می کند حتما قواعد مناسبی را در منابع انسانی خود به کار گرفته است.شرايط استخدامي در كل گروه يكسان است؟شرايط استخدامي در كل گروه همگن است يكسان نيست. مثلا كسي كه در شهرستان، تهران يا حتي از طريق شبکه استخدام مي‌شود مسلما شرايط يكي ندارند؛ اما يك موضوع مشترك وجود دارد و آن اين است كه سعي مي‌كنيم فارغ‌التحصيلان از دانشگاه‌‌هاي خوب، افرادي خوش‌فكر را استخدام كنيم، خوب پول بدهيم و البته خوب از آنها كار بخواهيم. آنها را رشد بدهيم و شاد و راضي نگه داريم. مي‌توانيد بیایید تمامي كارمندان ما را مدنظر بگيريد و ببينيد كه همگي شاد و خوشحالند!موضوع ديگر روابط مديرعامل با كارمندان شركت است اگر از آنها بپرسيد كه با رئيسشان چه ارتباطي دارند، مطمئنا برخلاف روال معمول به شما مي‌گويند كه به راحتي مديرعامل را مي‌بينند و ارتباط صميمانه دارند.مسلما شما مجموعه ماديران را از نزديك مي‌شناسيد و مي‌دانيد كه يكسري همگوني‌هاي غيرقابل انكاري مثل پيشكسوت بودن و نيروهاي زياد با مجموعه شما دارند، به نظر شما، حال فارغ از مسئله سخت‌افزاری و يا نرم‌افزاری بودن، فكر مي‌كنيد كدام دو مجموعه در مقايسه رتبه بالاتري را مي‌گيرند؟من مي‌خواهم سوال شما را اينطور جواب بدهم كه شباهت ما از نظر سازماني، توسعه، بازار و از جهت شهرت نام تجاري خيلي زياد است ولي برخي جاها مثل مالكيت بسيار با هم متفاوتيم. مدل اداری و مدیریتی آنها متمرکز است و وارد نرم‌افزار نشدند. به طور مشخص دو برابر ما از نظر سابقه كاري قدمت دارند، شايد 100 ها برابر ما از جهت كاري سرمايه دارند و در نهايت اينكه در محيط كاري ايران هم‌خوانی‌هاي بسيار بيشتري براي موفقيت در بازار دارند. بر عكس ما؛ مگر اينكه اوضاع به نفع نرم‌افزار تغيير و تحول عمده‌اي داشته باشد. من به همگي آنها احترام مي‌گذارم. فكر مي‌كنم اگر در يك مملكت بخواهيم رشد و توسعه داشته باشيم بايستي براي چنين بزرگاني كه استانداردساز هستند ارزش و احترام قائل باشيم و از تجارب آنها استفاده كنيم.فكر كنم تمام اين مسائلي كه گفتيد به مسائل ماهوي بازار سخت‌افزار و نرم‌ افزار ايران هم برگردد؟من اين تفاوت را نمي‌بينم. فكر مي‌كنم همگي به همان قضیه دايره هرمسي برمي‌گردد كه مي‌گويد حتی رد شدن آدم‌ها از كنار هم در خيابان هم بي‌دليل و اتفاقي نیست. بنابراين اينكه ما اول رفتيم دنبال سخت‌افزار و سپس از اين كار خارج شديم، يا افرادي كه دنبال نرم‌افزار رفته و آن را رها كردند، مطمئنا دلايل محكم‌تري در ذهن خود براي انجام ندادن آن مي‌ديدند و انتخاب كردند.يعني نسبت به آن كار همخوان‌تر بودند؟بله، دقيقا.گفتيد درآمدي كه از شركت‌هاي دولتي داريد، 10 درصد است و مي‌خواهيد در چشم‌انداز آينده آن را به 40 درصد برسانيد. سوال اينجاست شما چگونه توانستيد در كشوري كه 80 درصد اقتصاد آن دولتي است با اينكه به قول خودتان و دیگران صدرنشین بازار هستید، تنها 10 درصد درآمدتان از بخش دولتي تامين شود؟ این جریان تا حدودي هم خودخواسته بوده. مشتري است كه شما را رشد مي‌دهد. اگر من مصاحبه شونده خوبي باشم، شما بايد در پايان مصاحبه درباره نحوه برخورد با افرادي مثل من چيزي آموخته باشيد؛ يعني مشتري شما هميشه بايد شما را رشد بدهد. ما بازارمان خوشبختانه در بخش خصوصي شكل گرفت و همين به ما قوت داد. حالا كه مي‌رويم به بخش دولتي مي‌توانيم از تمام توانايي‌هايمان استفاده کنيم. اگر در بخش دولتي شکل گرفته بوديم؛ با کندي دولت، با سيستم‌ناپذير بودن و قراردادهايشان با قوانين دست و پاگيرشان يک جور ديگر بزرگ مي‌شديم چون در دولت در نهايت هميشه صاحب کار شما واقعا صاحب‌کارتان نيست و مامور است و معذور. در حاليکه بخش خصوصي هميشه خودش تصميم گيرنده نهايي است.اين مخالف الگوي توسعه شما نبود؟نه چون الگوي توسعه ما اين بود که از محصول به پروژه برسيم نه از پروژه به محصول. پس طي اين 10 يا 12 سال اين جريان کاملا هدفمند اتفاق افتاده و اين الگو با آن سازگاري داشته.به نظرم شما با دولت کار مي‌کنيد ولي مستقيما با بدنه دولت کار نمي‌کنيد، چون خيلي از اين شرکت‌‌‌هاي مشتري شما به نوعي دولتي هستند.اين تا حدودي به تعاريف ما و شما از دولت برمي‌گردد. ما مستقيما براي دولت کار نمي‌کنيم. ولي اكثر مشتريان ما شرکت‌هايي هستند که طبق قانون تجارت اداره مي‌شوند. يعني از محل درآمد و هزينه خود‌شان سرمايه‌گذاري مي‌کنند که با هزينه از طريق بودجه تفاوت‌هاي اساسي دارد. خوشبختانه حتي در زمينه بخشي از بازار که شرکت‌هايي قرار دارند که هيچ سهمي از دولت ندارند باز هم ما بالاترين سهم را داريم. هر چند تعداد اين دسته از مشتريان ما زياد نيست.چرا مشتريان کاملا خصوصي کم داريد؟چون به هر حال اقتصاد کاملا خصوصي ايران هنوز ضعيف است و آنها مي‌توانند خدمات بسيار ارزان‌تري را نسبت به خدمات ما از ساير شرکت‌هاي نرم‌افزاري بگيرند. خوشبختانه احساس شخصي خودم اين است که شرکت‌هاي کوچک و متوسط بخش خصوصي ما دارند بزرگ مي‌شوند و ما اتفاقا داريم به اينها با علاقه نگاه مي‌کنيم.ترجيحي هم براي مشتريان خصوصي داريد؟وقتي مشتري ما صد در صد خصوصي باشد. معمولا برايشان فضاهايي به لحاظ قيمت قائل هستيم چون وقتي مشتري خصوصي است ما مطمئن هستيم که کارمان به سرعت انجام مي‌شود و به اصطلاح هزينه استقرار کمتر است پس معمولا يکسري تخفيفاتي قائل هستيم.روي بازار نرم‌افزارهاي متن باز کار مي‌کنيد؟در زمينه Open source ا5 يا 6 سال است که سرمايه‌گذاري کرديم. در اين زمينه من مطمئنم يکي از بهترين و درخشان‌ترين تيم‌هاي ايران را داريم. اکثر تيمشان هم بچه‌هاي بسيار نابغه‌اي هستند.برايتان سودآور است؟آن موقع که اصلا کسي روي اين زمينه کار نمي‌کرد ما روي اين دسته از محصولات سرمايه‌گذاري کرديم که الان دارد خيلي بازار بازتر مي‌شود. در جهان هم به همين ترتيب است. بخش‌هاي زيادي از آنچه که ما به عنوان اتوماسيون اداري عرضه مي‌کنيم، واقعيت اين است که Open source است.تصميم داريد روي بخش‌هاي جديدي از صنعت هم کار کنيد؟در حال حاضر يک خط توليد جديد راه انداختيم که اين خط توليد متکي به تکنولوژي مايکروسافت هست. آنچه که داريم درست می‌کنیم، ديگر فقط براي ايران نيست. چند زبانه، چند ارزي و چند بعدي است که محدود به ايران نيست و چون متکي به طراحي جريان کاري(Work Flow) است، کشورهاي مختلف مي‌توانند شرايط خودشان را وارد آن کنند. اين جريان سرمايه‌گذاري بزرگ سال‌هاي آينده همکاران سيستم است. اين خط قرار است هشتاد و یکمین مراسم جوایز اسکار، شب گذشته، در هالیوود برگزار شد و فیلم هندی بریتانیایی میلیونر Slumdog Millionaire یا زاغه نشین میلیونر، برنده ۸ جایزه اسکار از جمله بهترین فیلم سال شناخته شد. Sean Penn (شان پن) به پاس بازی درخشانش در فیلم میلک (Milk)، به عنوان بهترین بازیگر مرد و Kate Winslet (کیت وینسلت)، بازیگر بریتانیایی نیز برای ارایه بهترین و زنده ترین تصویر از یک نگهبان پیشین بازداشتگاه آشویتس در فیلم Reader (کتابخوان)، شایسته دریافت اسکار بهترین بازیگر زن سال شناخته شد. کارشناسان گفته اند اسکار امسال تلاش برای دوستی ملتهای جهان و دفاع از حقوق اقلیتهای گوناگون اجتماعی در جامعه جهانی و آمریکا بوده است. Tips for Throwing an Oscar Party

Go glam or not. You can either go the glamorous route and ask your guests to get all decked out, or host a simpler affair. If you do have your guests put a little extra effort into their attire, you should reciprocate by stepping up the quality of your edibles, decorations and party favors.
Come up with a game plan. Even if you're planning a BYOB and bag of chips affair, it doesn't hurt to set aside a little time to figure out what your party will entail, logistically-speaking. While an itemized budget is not a must, you might want to plan a few important details such as printing out some extra Oscar ballots before the guests arrive.
Send out the invites. You can get all fancy with paper invites that look like official Oscar ballots, or you can go digital with free, online invite services like Evite, Renkoo or Event Wax. Don't forget to include the major details, including time, place, dress code and the buy-in price of the Oscar pool if you plan on having one.
Provide comfortable seating. The Oscars are one heck of a long ceremony. Be sure everyone has a comfy seat and a clear view of the TV screen.
Theme it up. Since movies are the topic at hand, it's not difficult to come up with creative ways to decorate. Roll out the red carpet, throw some movie posters up or go Planet Hollywood and label a few well-chosen items from around your house like famous film props on display.
Loop famous movies scenes on your TV. Pre-party, loop a few famous movie scenes on your television, or play a mix CD of soundtrack faves.
Load up on bite-size movie snacks. Because an Oscar party centers around the television, you'll want plenty of hand-held snacks instead of an elaborate meal. Consider offering cinematic nibbles like popcorn, Milk Duds and Twizzlers. As a rule, you can't go wrong with three salty snacks and three sweet ones.
Come up with a signature drink. Rename your cocktails after the night's honorees. Wouldn't Bailey's be that much better in your very own "I Drink Your Milkshake" concoction?
Don't forget the teetotallers. Provide plenty of non-alcoholic beverages for your guests. Lots of people don't drink, and well, the Oscars are darn long. You don't need anyone crashing on your couch come midnight.
Organize an Oscar Pool. Download a ballot from the Oscars website, let guests fill it out pre-party, have a buy-in and award the booty to the prize winner at the end of the night. You can also forgo the gambling and just have a few Oscar-themed prizes for the winners.

Bust out the movie trivia. Those commercial breaks are long, and the accountants of PricewaterhouseCoopers are long-winded. Break up the monotony with some Oscar trivia. Raid the entertainment category of your Trivial Pursuit cards or make your own Q&A pre-party.
Play 20 Questions. As each guest arrives, put a sticker with the name of a Hollywood star written on it on the guest's back. They can ask other guests "yes" or "no" questions about the star's identity until they guess it.
Write a treatment. Ask your guests to write a treatment (short description) of the movie of their lives. Who stars as them, and what's the song playing over the opening credits?
Make up an Oscar Drinking Game: Make up a drinking game according to your own Oscar-specific rules. Every time someone tearfully thanks his or her agent, take a drink. Every time the host's joke bombs, take a drink. Every time Joan Rivers mangles a star's name on the red carpet, take a drink. If you're not keen on serving quite so much alcohol, write the prompts down on homemade Bingo cards so the guests can mark off every time a the orchestra cuts off an honoree.
Take lots of pics. You can play paparazzo by placing a Polaroid at the door or snapping pics of people pressed against the TV screen next to their favorite stars throughout the party. Afterwards, you can make an online Oscar party scrapbook for your friends with a free service like Scrapblog.
Provide an alternate viewing area. Some folks remain glued to the screen through the Oscars. Others don't care quite so much. Provide a couple of alternate gathering places in your home for guests who'd like to move around and socialize during the party.
Make swag bags. Do it like the Hollywood hucksters do. Make swag bags for your guests stuffed with movie-themed goodies. They don't need to be expensive. You can throw some microwave popcorn, Twizzlers and soundtrack mix CD in the bag, and you're done.
Give out Oscar-themed door prizes. Buy a few Oscar-themed prizes for the winners of your party games like movie gift certificates, a screenplay from one of the nominated films, a book of Oscar trivia or, of course, a fake Oscar.
Make a soundtrack-heavy mix CD. Surprise your guests with the gift of an Oscar-themed mix CD. Include songs about films and movie stars, or go the soundtrack route.
Provide rides home. If the booze is flowing, you may need to take a few party-goers home. Stay sober or appoint a designated driver to attend to the tipsier of your guests.

General Appearance
The Sussex Spaniel was among the first ten breeds to be recognized and admitted to the Stud Book when the American Kennel Club was formed in 1884, but it has existed as a distinct breed for much longer. As its name implies, it derives its origin from the county of Sussex, England, and it was used there since the eighteenth century as a field dog. During the late 1800’s the reputation of the Sussex Spaniel as an excellent hunting companion was well known among the estates surrounding Sussex County. Its short legs, massive build, long body, and habit of giving tongue when on scent made the breed ideally suited to penetrating the dense undergrowth and flushing game within range of the gun. Strength, maneuverability, and desire were essential for this purpose. Although it has never gained great popularity in numbers, the Sussex Spaniel continues today essentially unchanged in character and general appearance from those 19th century sporting dogs.

The Sussex Spaniel presents a long and low, rectangular and rather massive appearance coupled with free movements and nice tail action. The breed has a somber and serious expression. The rich golden liver color is unique to the breed.

Size, Proportion, Substance
Size--The height of the Sussex Spaniel as measured at the withers ranges from 13 to 15 inches. Any deviation from these measurements is a minor fault. The weight of the Sussex Spaniel ranges between 35 and 45 pounds. Proportion--The Sussex Spaniel presents a rectangular outline as the breed is longer in body than it is tall. Substance--The Sussex Spaniel is muscular and rather massive.

Head
Correct head and expression are important features of the breed. Eyes--The eyes are hazel in color, fairly large, soft and languishing, but do not show the haw overmuch. Expression--The Sussex Spaniel has a somber and serious appearance, and its fairly heavy brows produce a frowning expression. Ears--The ears are thick, fairly large, and lobe-shaped and are set moderately low, slightly above the outside corner of the eye. Skull and Muzzle--The skull is moderately long and also wide with an indentation in the middle and with a full stop. The brows are fairly heavy, the occiput is full but not pointed, the whole giving an appearance of heaviness without dullness. The muzzle should be approximately three inches long, broad, and square in profile. The skull as measured from the stop to the occiput is longer than the muzzle. The nostrils are well-developed and liver colored. The lips are somewhat pendulous. Bite-- A scissors bite is preferred. Any deviation from a scissors bite is a minor fault.

Neck, Topline, Body
Neck--The neck is rather short, strong, and slightly arched, but does not carry the head much above the level of the back. There should not be much throatiness about the skin. Topline and Body-- he whole body is characterized as low and long with a level topline. The chest is round, especially behind the shoulders, and is deep and wide which gives a good girth. The back and loin are long and very muscular both in width and depth. For this development, the back ribs must be deep. Tail-- The tail is docked from 5 to 7 inches and set low. When gaiting the Sussex Spaniel exhibits nice tail action, but does not carry the tail above the level of the back.

Forequarters
The shoulders are well laid back and muscular. The upper arm should correspond in length and angle of return to the shoulder blade so that the legs are set well under the dog. The forelegs should be very short, strong, and heavily boned. They may show a slight bow. Both straight and slightly bowed constructions are proper and correct. The pasterns are very short and heavily boned. The feet are large and round with short hair between the toes.

Hindquarters
The hindquarters are full and well-rounded, strong, and heavily boned. They should be parallel with each other and also set wide apart--about as wide as the dog at the shoulders. The hind legs are short from the hock to the ground, heavily boned, and should seem neither shorter than the forelegs nor much bent at the hocks. The hindquarters must correspond in angulation to the forequarters. The hocks should turn neither in nor out. The rear feet are like the front feet.

Coat
The body coat is abundant, flat or slightly waved, with no tendency to curl. The legs are moderately well-feathered, but clean below the hocks. The ears are furnished with soft, wavy hair. The neck has a well-marked frill in the coat. The tail is thickly covered with moderately long feather. No trimming is acceptable except to shape foot feather, or to remove feather between the pads or between the hock and the feet. The feather between the toes must be left in sufficient length to cover the nails.

Color
Rich golden liver is the only acceptable color and is a certain sign of the purity of the breed. Dark liver or puce is a major fault. White on the chest is a minor fault. White on any other part of the body is a major fault.

Gait
The round, deep and wide chest of the Sussex Spaniel coupled with its short legs and long body produce a rolling gait. While its movement is deliberate, the Sussex Spaniel is in no sense clumsy. Gait is powerful and true with perfect coordination between the front and hind legs. The front legs do not paddle, wave, or overlap. The head is held low when gaiting. The breed should be shown on a loose lead so that its natural gait is evident.

Temperament
Despite its somber and serious expression, the breed is friendly and has a cheerful and tractable disposition.

Faults
The standard ranks features of the breed into three categories. The most important features of the breed are color and general appearance. The features of secondary importance are the head, ears, back and back ribs, legs, and feet. The features of lesser importance are the eyes, nose, neck, chest and shoulders, tail, and coat. Faults also fall into three categories. Major faults are color that is too light or too dark, white on any part of the body other than the chest, and a curled coat. Serious faults are a narrow head, weak muzzle, the presence of a topknot, and a general appearance that is sour and crouching. Minor faults are light eyes, white on chest, the deviation from proper height ranges, lightness of bone, shortness of body or a body that is flat-sided, and a bite other than scissors. There are no disqualifications in the Sussex Spaniel standard.

Although the Sussex Spaniel originated centuries ago, the breed’s appearance has remained virtually unchanged still today. The Sussex possesses a rich golden liver coat unique to the breed, and has a long, low and somewhat massive body. Although not as fast as other Spaniel breeds, the Sussex has a great nose and is well suited for working through dense underbrush on the hunt.

A Look Back
While the Sussex Spaniel was one of the original nine breeds recognized by the AKC in 1884, it has actually existed as a breed for much longer. It originated in the 18th century in the county of Sussex, England, where it was used as a field dog. At that time, the custom of hunting on foot made the Sussex a popular hunting companion and very useful in flushing and retrieving upland game.

Despite its somber and serious expression, the Sussex is friendly, with a cheerful and tractable disposition. They enjoy walks with their families and are good with children and other dogs. The Sussex requires weekly brushing, with special attention paid to anything that might have gotten caught in their long, thick ear hair. What is it about middle-aged British comedians that makes producers think it's a good idea to pack them off to a foreign land to make what they hope will be a marvellously witty television series?
Michael Palin started this industry years ago, setting a template few have been able to match. Not even Palin, sometimes. Last weekend, Paul Merton and Stephen Fry set out on journeys, the first around India, the latter bumbling around the United States in a London cab.
Paul Merton in India (TV One, Saturdays) is the better of the two because he has such fabulous material to work with. Not for him the temples or the icons.
Moaning about jetlag and a queasy tummy, Merton visited an elegant lady who ran a school of etiquette. She scolded his Cockney accent and made him try to speak posh with a mouth filled with marbles, plus burp after meals.
Accompanied by an ever-smiling journalist, Merton confronted his fear of flying in a jolly adventure which surely could only happen in India: a simulated flight in an ancient jet installed in a backyard.

People who could never afford the real thing lined up with their boarding passes, listened carefully to the safety instructions, had lift-off, then rolled down the emergency slide when the plane "crashed" into water. Merton botched his roll - the Indians laughed like mad. There was something sweet about the whole thing.
At every turn, you got the impression that India is rich in all things mad. There was the Monkey Squad, two large monkeys actually in the employ of the civil service, trained to scare off smaller monkeys bothering the neighbourhood. Merton met a man called Bubbles, a superhero who had saved a city from a missile disaster. Bubbles worshipped rats in a temple dedicated to the rodents - he even drank from their milk bowl. Merton looked ill. Then he
got stoned at a Shiva festival where naked holy men did weird things with their willies. Merton claimed he didn't inhale but his eyes said otherwise. As he observed, a day in the life of India was spectacular, bizarre and mind-blowing. And lots of fun. So is his show.Stephen Fry In America (Prime, Sunday), on the other hand, seems far more muted. I know it's a big place but the pace he sets - cracking - means all we see is Fry popping up all over the place, making trite observations, then moving on. Quite what the point was of him going on a lobster boat, joining deer hunters, or visiting an icecream factory was hard to see. Fry, an articulate and intelligent man, could try slowing down to get more out of his experiences.
There were some better moments, like when he visited the Italian wiseguy social club in Queens and the aged socialite in the Hamptons. She used to know Joseph Kennedy, a man she described as not nice but very attractive. "I'm nice but not very attractive," said Fry dolefully. The show could be both, if he'd just put the brakes on.

Duffy sweeps Brit Awards

LONDON - Soul singer Duffy scooped top prizes for best album, best British female solo artist and best breakthrough act at the Brit Awards - Britain's version of the Grammys.
Wednesday's triple-play caps a great year for the 24-year-old Welsh songstress, whose Rockferry album registered 4.5 million in international sales in 2008. Coldplay - who along with the sultry-voiced blonde received four nominations - were given the cold shoulder.
Duffy beat a crowded field including singer-rapper Estelle, Grammy-award winning soul singer Adele, and grime-pop Sri Lankan refugee M.I.A. to take the best female solo award.
By the time she took home her third prize of the evening, she was beginning to choke up.
"I'm not going to lie to you, it's really not (expletive) easy," she said. "It's hard. It's really hard."
The awards ceremony, which drew an A-list crowd of music industry insiders, featured acts by Duffy, U2, and Kings of Leon - who won best album and best group in the international categories. Hip-hop star Kanye West took best male, while Katy Perry was named best international female.

David Beckham says life would be "difficult" should he be forced to return to play in Los Angeles. The 33-year-old soccer hunk – on loan from the LA Galaxy to Italy's AC Milan – has already made clear his desire to continue playing the European circuit. But on Sunday, Beckham confessed that a return to Los Angeles would be awkward. "I've said I want to stay here, and if I do go back then it will be a bit difficult, but we'll have to wait and see what happens," Beckham told reporters after his AC Milan team was beaten by local rivals Inter Milan, 2-1. Asked if he might see the issue resolved over the next few days, Beckham responded: "I don't know. It is out of my hands, and they'll be talking in the next week or two." Approached by PEOPLE, Beckham's U.K. rep was unavailable for comment.
LA Won't Let GoThe head coach of LA Galaxy, Bruce Arena, made clear last Friday that Beckham is under contract and expected to return to California for the new season. "Today's deadline imposed by Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber regarding a resolution of David Beckham's potential transfer to AC Milan has passed, and we did not receive an acceptable offer for the player," he said. "As a result, David remains an LA Galaxy player and we look forward to having him back with the club starting March 9." A source close to the soccer star tells PEOPLE that whichever team gets to keep Beckham, his children will remain in America. "Whatever happens the boys, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, will stay in Los Angeles," says the source. "There is already a family decision to keep continuity with their education."

A new biography of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin reveals that her secret pregnancy with son Trig was nearly uncovered when one of her daughters discovered Trig's prenatal ultrasound scan and confronted Palin with the picture. "Sarah made one slip-up – but [she] dampened suspicion by explaining it away," reports Trailblazer: An Intimate Biography of Sarah Palin, by PEOPLE Assistant Editor Lorenzo Benet and being published Tuesday by Simon & Schuster's Threshold Editions. Palin also was aware Trig had been diagnosed with Down syndrome but did not disclose this to her four other children until his Trig's birth last April 18, several weeks after she went public with her pregnancy. "Not discussing the pregnancy with her daughters, she felt, would shorten the process and spare them from unwanted attention," according to the book, which was not authorized by Palin. Trailblazer also reveals another reason Palin kept the pregnancy quiet. She tells Benet, who interviewed Palin and her family for a 2008 PEOPLE cover story: "Not knowing in my own heart if I was going to be ready to embrace a child with special needs – I couldn't talk about it." In the course of preparing the book, Benet received the cooperation of Palin's parents, Chuck and Sally Heath; the governor's older sister, Heather Bruce; as well as in-laws, political allies and rivals.
Health Problems at BirthThe biography also reports that Trig's health was problematic from birth – he was born with a congenital heart defect typically found in half the babies with Down syndrome – but it cleared up on its own without surgery. The Palin home is portrayed as running at a frenetic pace; one-on-one basketball games, take-out pizza dinners, razzing between kids and parents. Extended family is in abundance, and while they have helped Sarah and Todd Palin raise their children – enabling her to serve as governor and pursue her political career last fall during the presidential campaign – the couple hired a Wasilla nanny to help out at home, the book reveals.
Bristol and LeviTrailblazer also sheds new light on the relationship between Palin's eldest daughter, Bristol, and her fiancé, Levi Johnston, the father of Bristol's son, Tripp, born Dec. 27, 2008. While Bristol was pregnant last year, she was living in Anchorage with her aunt and uncle, Heather and Kurt Bruce, and working at two espresso shops – while also attending West High School. Levi was 40 miles away in Wasilla, but, "there was certainly no ban on them dating," reports Trailblazer. "Levi used to drive to Anchorage to take Bristol out." Heather Bruce is quoted as saying in the book, "He used to bring her flowers and take her to dinner and a movie. He would come in and say hello, but he says few words. He's a quiet boy." Bristol Palin: Abstinence for all teens 'not realistic'

(CNN) -- In her first interview since giving birth, the teenage daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said having a child is not "glamorous," and that telling young people to be abstinent is "not realistic at all."

Bristol Palin says "everyone should just wait 10 years" to have a baby, rather than when you're young.

"It's just, like, I'm not living for myself anymore. It's, like, for another person, so it's different," Bristol Palin told Fox News' Greta Van Susteren. "And just you're up all night. And it's not glamorous at all," she said. "Like, your whole priorities change after having a baby."
The 18-year-old, who gave birth in late December, said she is being helped tremendously by her mother, grandmother, cousins and other family members. She is engaged to teen father Levi Johnston, who is now working for his father and trying to complete school, but said she wishes that she waited another 10 years to have a baby.
It was "harder than labor" telling her parents she was pregnant.
"Well, we were sitting on the couch, my best friend and Levi, and we had my parents come and sit on the couch, too. And we had my sisters go upstairs," Bristol said. "And we just sat them down, and I just -- I couldn't even say it. I was just sick to my stomach.
"And so finally, my best friend just, like, blurted it out. And it was just, like -- I don't even remember it because it was just, like, something I don't want to remember."
Todd and Sarah Palin were "scared just because I have to -- I had to grow up a lot faster than they ever would have imagined," Bristol said.
Her parents insisted that she and her boyfriend hash out a "game plan" immediately. And now her parents and relatives are all pitching in to help take care of the child, particularly when Bristol is at school during the day.
Van Susteren was delicate with the teenager but pointedly asked if "contraception is an issue here."
"Is that something that you were just lazy about or not interested, or do you have philosophical or religious opposition to it," Van Susteren asked.
Bristol quickly answered that she didn't want to get into specifics. The best option is abstinence, the teen said, but added that she didn't think that was "realistic." Watch Bristol Palin say that abstinence is "not realistic at all" »
While her mother was running for vice president, the teenager said her treatment in the media was "evil." She said she read some of the tabloids that wrote about her. People didn't understand, she said, and some media reports perpetuated falsehoods about her experience.
"They thought that, like, my mom was going to make me have the baby, and it was my choice to have the baby," she said. "And it's just -- that kind of stuff just bothered me."
Van Susteren asked, "But this is your issue? This is your decision?"
Bristol answered yes. "(It) doesn't matter what my mom's views are on it. It was my decision, and I wish people would realize that, too," she said.
The network interview was Bristol's idea, the teen said. And she apparently sprung the news to her parents that she was going to speak publicly the day before the network taping. The teen said she wanted to tell her story so that other young people might think twice about having sex.
"I'd love to [be] an advocate to prevent teen pregnancy because it's not, like, a situation that you would want to strive for, I guess," Bristol said.
Gov. Palin made an unexpected appearance during the interview in Alaska, and Van Susteren asked her about her daughter's pregnancy.

Roll out muscle tension

don't have to look very far to find information about the benefits of exercising. It is a proven fact: When you exercise regularly, you just feel better; and all kinds of physical conditions will improve, adding to the quality of your life. The more active you are, the better you will feel, right? Unfortunately, sometimes an active body will rebel, and the result could be aches and pains that will persist until you do something to relieve them. Part of the reason for this is that early on in your life, you may develop postural and movement habits that are less than optimal, forcing surrounding tissues to take on strain that they were not meant to take. Over time, "adhesions" develop, which occur due to continuing stress. For instance, if you suddenly take up running, but your hip flexors are tight and your hamstrings are not strong enough; over time you may develop discomfort somewhere in the body due to the hip's instability resulting from this muscular imbalance.
Many people either ignore or discount the significance of a little pain, so they let it go and continue the same activity until the pain really gets bad. At that point, the tissues have already been hard at work trying to repair themselves. Through a release of collagen, (a fibrous protein found in all of our tissues in varying levels), muscle movement becomes even more restricted as these collagen fibers bind over-worked muscles and fascia (a connective tissue surrounding the muscles) together. Trying to move beyond this restriction becomes even more painful. Stretching can help to a small degree, but the adhesions will still be there afterwards.
By now you should have guessed that it is important to address this pain and the resulting muscle stiffness, because if you don't, it will only get worse, and this could lead to an injury that will set you back even further. Even if you cease to exercise, you still have to get yourself around by walking, sitting, standing and other daily activities, so you can't really avoid using the affected body parts. So how to fix it? There are several approaches one could take, including special types of bodywork (massage), physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic, and acupressure, to name a few. However, all of these cost money and require special practitioners.
There is something you can do on your own. It only takes a few minutes a day, can help you feel better afterwards, and it costs very little: Foam rolling or more specifically, "self-myofascial release (or SMFR)." This a modality that has been a staple in physical therapy offices but along with many other therapy tools has ended up in fitness centers and in group exercise classes. I first became aware of foam rolls when I worked in a small private training studio. The SMFR technique was included in every client's program, using it as a part of the warm-up routine (after 5-10 minutes of light cardiovascular activity).
The idea behind SMFR is that by putting all of your body weight on top of a 3-foot-long, semi-solid, 6-inch-round length of foam, and then pulling yourself back and forth over it repeatedly, you will be breaking-up the adhesions that cause pain and restrict movement. This allows the connective tissue (fascia) to "slide" apart when you move, thus enhancing your range of movement and decreasing pain. This method does take some getting used to, and the movement aspect of it can be as challenging as any workout! But once you get the hang of it, it can become an addiction, because it feels so good. Well, that happens mostly after it's over.
An example of this is a movement you would do for the gluteal muscles, where you would simply sit on top of the foam roll, hands behind you on the floor, legs in the front with knees bent. You then roll yourself back and forth over the foam, just on the gluteals. You can then shift your weight onto one side, making the pressure more concentrated on that area. You might then feel a distinct pain - this is when you have a particularly tight adhesion. This means you really need a release right there! The best thing to do is to "hover" over that spot, that is, lift up slightly off the foam and rest there for 20-30 seconds. The pain should decrease, (but you may still feel a slight discomfort). You do need to feel a small degree of pain, but it should not be unbearable. After the rest of the time is up, you can gently roll over the foam again, but it should not be painful at all. If it is, just stop. If you repeat this process regularly, once or twice per day, the pain should continue to decrease, and you will notice that you feel better long after the rolling session. You will know that you have gone too far if you notice bruising, or if you have pain that worsens or persists.
Just about any body part can be "rolled," and the rolls come in different densities to suit various needs (from semi-soft to hard). The length and diameter can even be varied. Although the 3-foot length is more common, shorter rolls are easier to store and can be less difficult to manage when you are focusing on a smaller area of the body.
Another bonus of using the rolls is that they can double as exercise tools. Balance work and core work can be intensified using the full-round rolls, but half-rolls can be used as well. You can stand on them to perform any traditional exercise (squats, lunges) or lie on them for core exercises and postural alignment techniques.
Before attempting the SMFR technique on your own, I would highly suggest that you consult your physician or physical therapist. How to stay well and keep exercising during flu season

You know it is that time of year again when you hear the sniffles and coughs all around you, your colleagues call in sick en masse, and you start to wonder about that tickle you feel deep down in the back of your throat.
That's right, cold and flu season is back (although it's not like it ever really left). When we think of all the time and productivity we lose at least two to three times per year (the average adult suffers through at least this many upper-respiratory infections), we might also want to ask ourselves how can we avoid all of this? Yes, there are many different forms of the flu and an endless assortment of viruses we could catch, and although it is true that some of us are more susceptible than others to succumbing to them, there are many things that we can do to avoid becoming ill. One of these is getting enough exercise, but on the other hand, not getting too much of it either. And our habits in the environments in which we exercise can also be geared toward us (and those around us) staying healthier throughout the year. If you do become ill, how you take care of yourself (and how you take care around your fellow exercisers who are well) can make a big difference too.
First, I would like to discuss colds and the flu. What are they exactly? As defined by the CDC: they are both upper-respiratory infections caused by various types of viruses, with similar symptoms (sore throat, runny/stuffed-up nose, body aches, and a cough). Colds are usually mild, whereas the flu can result in fever and severe fatigue along with the body aches. In addition, the flu can lead to more serious complications, such as pneumonia and bacterial infections.1
If you are a regular exerciser (most days of the week), you are far less likely to come down with either a cold or flu. Why? Because exercise actually boosts the production of cells that can kill bacteria and viruses. Researchers like David C. Nieman, PhD, and ACSM health fitness instructor, reveal that consistent, moderate exercise can cut potential sick time in half.2 This is due to a cumulative effect of exercise creating an environment within the body in which the virus-killing cells can circulate and kill those invasive "bugs." The key is to be consistent, since apparently this effect does not last beyond the odd, sporadic workout session. Constant repetition of exercise sessions over time builds the cells to the extent where the killer cells are more prevalent and the effect is more long-lasting. So in essence, when you exercise, you are training your cells as well as your body!
Conversely, there is a negative effect on immunity when you exercise too hard. Consistent exercise sessions at a high intensity for too many days without rest periods can actually depress the immune system. Athletes who train hard and compete often are particularly susceptible to this, but plenty of non-competitive "gym rats" are prone to frequent illness if they hit the heavy weights too much, take too many spinning classes, or overdo the stair climbing machine without proper rest and recovery time. After all, exercise is a form of stress on the body, resulting in the output of adrenaline and cortisol, which are the "stress hormones." These have many deleterious effects on the body, including lowering immunity. Therefore, if you are going to train hard, make sure to balance your workout sessions. An example might look like this - - Monday: high-intensity running for 45 minutes, Tuesday: low-intensity jogging for 30 minutes. It is also a good idea to cross-train, so Wednesday could consist of 20 minutes of moderate-intensity stationary cycling with 30 minutes of resistance-training, then Thursday: back to the high-intensity running, Friday: low-intensity jogging and resistance training...and so on.
Sometimes it is inevitable you just simply get sick. Should you exercise? The answer is yes, but the rule is if you are experiencing fever and body aches, get in bed instead! Also, if you have a severe respiratory condition, it will not only be difficult to exercise (due to the coughing) but will delay the healing of the bronchial passages. If your symptoms are mild, some easy walking or stationary cycling can actually boost your body in its recovery effort.
The other factor to consider should you visit the gym when you feel under the weather is keeping your germs to yourself. It's one thing to have the sniffles, but if your nose is running like Usain Bolt in a 100-meter race, or if you can't stop sneezing, it is better to stay home. If your symptoms are mild enough, and you can exercise, remember that even if you just have a sore throat, you are contagious, and in this case, sharing is not caring. Be sure to wipe down every surface you touch on the cardio machine after you use it. Wash your hands thoroughly before you pick up weights. Practice the "elbow sneeze", that is, cover your mouth with the inside crook of your elbow. That way, the copious amount of germs that are expelled from your sneeze won't be spread around everywhere from your hands. Dispose of any tissues you use (don't forget and leave them on the treadmill or on the floor) and carry hand sanitizer with you in case soap and water are not readily accessible.
So now you have one more reason to exercise: staying well! And one less excuse to stop exercising if you do get sick, now that you know that exercise can help you recover from illness. An apple a day and a workout most days can keep you away - - from the doctor!

Chicken Breasts in Sun-Dried Tomato Sauce

Start this chicken dish cooking in a slow cooker before you leave home to run errands, or leave it to cook while you do laundry or yard work. This recipe comes from “Zone Meals in Seconds.”
Prep: 20 minutesYield: 4 (4 block) servingsCooking: 4 to 6 hours
Ingredients:4 small chicken breast halves, skin removed12 sundried tomato halves, quartered1 ½ cups onion, cut in thin half-moons2 cups thinly sliced mushrooms1/2 cup dry white wine3 garlic cloves, coarsely chopped1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper1 tablespoon herbs de Provence or Italian herb blend8 teaspoons cornstarch or arrowroot dissolved1/4 cup apple cider2 tablespoons pine nuts
Fruit:3/4 cup frozen pitted sweet cherries4 peaches, halved, pitted, and sliced or 3 cups frozen sliced, unsweetened peaches, thawed1/4 teaspoon cinnamon1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Veggies with vinaigrette:16 ounce bag frozen Birds Eye frozen broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and water chestnuts plus 1/2 cup water2 tablespoon organic red wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar2 teaspoons dry mustard plus 2 tablespoons water1 tablespoon plus 1/3 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil

Explore wellness coaching and group training

Last month I wrote about the top trends in fitness for 2009, which are a reflection of what the public wants as seen by fitness professionals world-wide. Number one out of the 20 items on this list is the importance of finding a trainer who is qualified to address the special needs of today's population. Knowing that your trainer has the knowledge and experience to handle whatever complications may arise from whatever muscle imbalances or conditions you might have is critical!
Just as it is important for a trainer to know is how to help clients reach their fitness goals. He or she should also be able to motivate, inspire, coax, and sometimes even cajole their charges. This has been a long-time challenge for all of us professionals, because it is hard to get someone to change their habits or adopt new ones. I found out the hard way that just because people are paying me to make them work out does not mean that they are going to become a fit, healthy person. I sometimes had to call or email people on days we were not training together to remind them to walk, stretch, eat properly, etc. And, I have given many a pep talk to the disheartened and the discouraged. Enter the concept of "coaching" (versus simply "training"). Although this rates number 13 on the list of the top twenty fitness trends, it will surely move up to the top very soon.
I was made aware of the idea of coaching for fitness clients through the American College of Sports Medicine, which had partnered with a company called "Wellcoaches" and began to offer training for fitness professionals to learn techniques to help clients achieve their goals through carefully designed, evidence-based processes. These breakthrough methods are based on the findings of James Prochaska, Ph.D.1, who developed a model of behavior change and wrote a book about it. Prochaska suggests that no matter what type of behavior you want to change (quitting smoking, overeating, becoming more active, to name a few), we all change in predictable stages. Usually there are six of these stages, and the transition from one to another depends on a person's level of "readiness" to change. Sometimes people move from one to the other in a nice even flow, but they can also move up, and then back slide before moving forward. For example, by the time they have started to become physically active, many new exercisers will have reached the fourth stage or the "action" stage, but if they were not wholly prepared for this phase, they may back slide into the first stage or the "pre-contemplation" stage, while they're not even thinking about it.
A good coach can identify which of the six stages a person is in and then choose the most appropriate intervention to help keep them moving forward toward success. Coaches can also assist with other "wellness" behaviors besides exercise. Coaching techniques can be applied to helping a person to eat healthfully, quit smoking, or to get more sleep. His or her guidance can make all the difference to someone who is struggling to achieve what he or she may earnestly desire but do not have the tools or the ability to follow through to the end.
I was given permission to use the story of Lady Lorna, a woman who has lost 110 pounds and is still losing, thanks to the help and encouragement she has received from her personal coach. L. Lorna tried many times to lose the weight by herself, but she just couldn't, and she did not feel good about this. She found her coach at a gym, hired her and found the guidance she received from the 72-year-old counselor to be invaluable. "My coach inspires me to become a whole human being. Without her wisdom, I would be lost," she said. Lady Lorna's coach instructs her exercise plan and holds her accountable to attending classes and "is kind but stern in a quiet way".
The need for this service is evident, and it is a great thing for personal trainers, group exercise instructors, team coaches, P.E. teachers, and others who work with active and "contemplative stage" (or stage number two) populations to combine with their knowledge of how to train bodies. After all, we do want our clients to succeed!

Small Group Training
Another trend that is slowly catching on is also a great idea for these current economically challenged times.
Nowadays, the cost to train one-on-one with a personal trainer is prohibitive for nearly all but the most financially secure. Although I have had clients who made sacrifices in other areas of their budgets to spend the money to train with me, most people will not consider doing this. However, getting the proper guidance to exercise is still very important. One solution is to share the cost of a training session with other like-minded individuals. Thus Small Group Training was born! Currently, I train with groups of two to four people. Some trainers will take up to six at a time. After that, it gets very difficult to monitor each individual, so it is best to keep the numbers down. At first I was really challenged as to how I was going to give each member of the group the specific guidance he or she would need, since everyone is different in the way they perform an exercise. But it is fun because I get to be creative: I can set up circuits and have everyone take turns at different exercises, we can incorporate games and fun themes in each workout, we can take workout "field trips" to outdoor locations, and more. Any trainer should be able to adapt an exercise to an individual's specific abilities, so everyone should be able to do basically the same exercises, even if they are modified. Added bonuses for participants include: Developing camaraderie if the same people work together in the same group consistently. Members may even start synchronizing with each other!
Most gyms, fitness centers, city recreation departments, and small exercise studios offer group training packages. If you don't see a small-group training offering in your facility of choice, ask the management. Grab a friend and bring them with you or go by yourself and make new friends!

The amazing Salma Hayek was born on September 2, 1966, in the oil boomtown of Coatzacoalcos, Mexico. Hayek has freely admitted that she and her brother, Sami, were spoiled rotten by her well-to-do Lebanese-Mexican businessman father and her Mexican-born opera-singing mother. After having seen Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) in a local movie theatre, Salma decided she wanted to become an actress. Her education included a stint at a New Orleans convent school, where she pulled pranks on the nuns by setting their clocks back three hours. She was soon expelled. In the late 80s, she won the role of "Teresa" in the self-titled soap opera, and quickly became the "it" girl everyone was talking about. The shallow and superficial acting required for the role was, however, not satisfying, as she wanted to get ahead in acting rather than being stuck in it.She soon left her native Mexico and her popularity to make her way to Los Angeles. I am so sorry that I didn’t send you an e-mail update yesterday before the show…I received a ton of e-mails from people asking whether/when it was coming! I’m back on track! Thanks have been just a bit crazy these last few days…I’m sure you can imagine.
So here’s the ‘behind the scenes’…Last night, we were at Freedom Fellowship’s Idol viewing party with about 150 other excited, wonderful people. As the show began, I could see Felicia’s eyes watering up as she sat, prepared to relive her Great Disappointment. It had been almost a month now, since she received the big “No” from the judges and we flew home, rejected. Trust me…our emotions and thoughts ran the gamut, as we tried desperately to process what had just occurred. What they didn’t show on last night’s episode is that Felicia was actually in a ‘sing-off’ with a 16 year old girl! Felicia sang “No One” by Alicia Keys, and she said she felt like it was her best performance ever, and then she listened from the hallway as the other girl give, what she felt, was a very average performance.So you can understand Felicia’s response of ,”Really…are you sure?” when the judges told her that it was the end of the road.
But it wasn’t the end of the road!!! And we knew it…we hadn’t been through all of this just to make the top 50! Don’t get me wrong. We are so humbled and grateful for the journey up that point. But we believe, with all of our heart, that this is the time and season for Felicia to take her place in the entertainment industry. And so, after a few days of grieving…we determined that Felicia’s Idol journey was far from over. We didn’t know how…we just knew it wasn’t! We also knew that there was a small precedent for people being brought back on the show as ‘wild cards’. Felicia has this great little book called ‘Chicken Soup for the American Idol Soul’ with all kinds of inspiring stories, one of which was a girl name Carmen. Carmen didn’t even make it to the top 50, but she and her mom never stopped believing that she was meant to be on the show…and 3 months later, executive producer Ken Warwick called her back for a wild card episode, and she went on to finish in the top 10! With every fiber of our being, we believed that Carmen’s story was to be our story (remember, this is a month ago!)
And so we took action! With the help of our friends, we began taking every step that we possibly could to prepare Felicia for her shot at celebrity. She went to her hairdresser and said “Give me a rock star haircut!”. God provided an incredible personal trainer and a cosmetic dentist…and both of them have given Felicia the “star treatment”. Felicia has been more driven and assertive, in the last 3 weeks, than I’ve seen her be since giving birth to Malachi!! original.gif We did a brand, new photo shoot and even started writing and recording some new music!
And then we got the call!!! Sure enough, right smack in the middle of the 150 viewers that were gathered at Freedom to watch the show, Ken Warwick (executive producer for Idol) called Felicia’s cell phone. She ran into the girl’s bathroom to take the call, and she was bouncing off the walls when Ken told her to pack her bags, because she was now in the top 36!!!! He also told her not to tell a soul until they made it public the next day. So we had to finish out the night as if she never got the call!
Of course, we awoke this morning to a media firestorm…with Felicia at the center of it! And now it’s time for her to go back to Hollywood and take the competition by storm! It’s going to be the ultimate underdog story when she becomes the next American Idol!!!

Naomi Watts was born in Shoreham, England, on September 28, 1968. After the unfortunate death of her father, Naomi and her family moved to Australia four years later, when she was 14 years old.
The aspiring actress enrolled in acting school and began attending numerous auditions, where she met future best friend and major influence Nicole Kidman. With a lot diligence, Watts received a small role in For Love Alone in 1986. It may not have been a significant part, but it was a big step forward as Watts tried to follow in her mother's footsteps, an accomplished actress who also served as inspiration for Watts.

At 18, Naomi decided to try her hand at modelling and was hired by an agency in Japan. After a year of struggles, she realized this sort of exposure was not what for her and returned home. The acting bug was too strong, however, and Watts landed roles in 1991's Flirting, with Nicole Kidman and Thandie Newton, and in an Australian miniseries alongside Russell Crowe.

For Jonas Brothers, the last year has been all whirlwind, all the time. Yet somehow, on the road to becoming a pop culture phenomenon, the trio never broke a sweat – other than on the stage, giving their all, and living their dream. If anything, Jonas Brothers have embodied the calm within the storm. And since the release of their 2007 self-titled platinum CD, Kevin, Joe and Nick have used their time wisely. As they prove on their new Hollywood Records CD, "A Little Bit Longer," Jonas Brothers have grown exponentially as songwriters, musicians and recording artists. "The lyrical content has gotten more in-depth," says Nick Jonas of the new album. "It's about who we are as people and our personal lives, things we've gone through in the past 12 months." That year was about much more than simply handling a media frenzy with grace and humor. The brothers also took stock of themselves. In the new album's 12 songs – all written by Jonas Brothers – they put their feelings on the line, while still rocking the house as only they can. Produced by John Fields (with Jon Lind and Kevin Jonas, Sr., serving as executive producers), "A Little Bit Longer" covers much musical and emotional ground, kicking off with the joyful jam "BB Good." Says Joe of the track, "It's a big sing-along song, and it's fun." The funky and danceable debut single, "Burnin' Up," keeps the party going, with Big Rob, the brothers' hefty security guard, rapping midtrack. "It's about this girl," adds Joe. "Maybe she's at a party, and you feel that immediate connection. You both know it's there." Though relentlessly upbeat, most songs on "A Little Bit Longer" explore star-crossed standoffs and missed romantic opportunities. Songs like "Shelf," the hard-rocking "Pushin' Me Away" and "One Man Show" survey love's unequal playing field, bad break-ups and the defiant isolation that follows. "'Shelf' is one my favorite songs on the record," says Nick. "Basically, it's about a girl that has a gallery of hearts." Other songs take a light-hearted look at the craziness of fame and fortune. "Video Girl" paints a portrait of the shallow wannabees dotting the entertainment landscape (" Move to L.A., got no talent/Not even like you won a Miss Teen pageant"), while "Lovebug" starts out as sweet-tempered acoustic love song before ending up a crashing Queen-like rocker. Of course, the brothers made sure the album breathes. The power ballad "Sorry" features classic JB harmonies and an eternal message of forgiveness. But the song that will have people talking is "A Little Bit Longer," Nick's stunning account of his struggle with diabetes. With strings underscoring a plaintive piano/vocal, he sings about his battle ("A little bit longer and I'll be fine/Waitin' on a cure/But none of them are sure"). Recalls Nick, "I was having one of those days where I was discouraged. So I went into this empty hotel ballroom and wrote this song." Adds brother Kevin, "Nick sings this song every night and it brings people to tears. It's amazing." Considering the impact Jonas Brothers have had on music and culture recently, maybe it's not so amazing. In the past 12 months, Jonas Brothers made headlines and created hysteria with sold out concerts from coast to coast; the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles was the fastest sold out show in the venue’s history. Jonas Brothers also sold out 3 shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden. They rung in the New Year performing live in New York's Times Square on Dick Clark's New Year's Rocking Eve, collected their RIAA-platinum plaques on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," sang from a White House balcony as guests of the President at the annual Easter Egg Roll, and even played on the hit shows "Dancing With the Stars" and the season finale of "American Idol."
