I fully believe that you the client have the right to expect certain things from a Trainer/Coach.

Searching for the RIGHT kind of trainer is never easy. It is the measure of that person that you select that may ultimately determine what path your training takes and to what end you see results; whether physical, emotional, or spiritual.

Some trainers can say that they have forsaken Friends, Family, personal time, personal possessions, vacations, love, self happiness. These things, to many, tend to be the most important possessions of all.

The true essence of the business of personal training is (or should be) beyond just "losing weight" or "sculpting the body of your dreams", like your favorite infomercial promised. The ability to enact change and bring enhanced health, vitality, and emotional satiety within oneself is the greatest of achievements that a trainer can deliver. The greatest of trainers have given up anything and everything that is for themselves and have given 100% of their soul to the people that need them to be everything.

Tip! Safety.A lot of accidents can happen during unsupervised exercises so having a personal trainer will ensure that you are using health club equipment the right way.

As a trainer, we try to give you our all! We help direct you to lead a healthier lifestyle. We try to do this without ever asking "what's in it for me?" Through our skills and abilities, we could help you to change your life and give you greater vitality; vitality that will give you years beyond an irresponsible handling of your health and wellness.

For some trainers who TRULY care about their own honor, name, and that of the business of personal fitness, we realize that it is the client that makes us who we are. It is the client that defines us as what it is that we truly are: A coach, A mentor, A trainer, A motivator, A Friend. Without asking for anything in return, you trainer should be giving that to you.

When you finally begin your quest to find that "Right" trainer, ask yourself if that trainer believes in you and that it is an honor that YOU have chosen THEM? Or, does your new trainer truly believe that it YOUR privilege to be trained by him and that YOU should feel that he (she) is the real reward??

Tip! You don't need a fitness personal trainer because you hated someone to push and encourage you so that you can achieve your health and fitness goals much faster. Your idea of going to the gym is to socialize and to chat up girls.

Ask yourself:

Is my trainer passionate about me?
Have they given the fitness business and its people their all?
Have they sacrificed for their clients?
Will they sacrifice for me?
Will they give me 100% of themselves?
Can they give 100% of themselves?
Is the person to whom I will entrust my prized health and vitality a good and true person OUTSIDE of our training as well as in??
Are they a person of TRUE honor and integrity or are they the wolf in sheeps' clothing?
Will they give me the advice I need and do they themselves stand behind those suggestions behind closed and LOCKED doors?

So when you seek the guidance of a trainer or a professional to help you in your fitness endeavors, ask him or her to qualify themselves. Their passion for their work will ultimately reflect in you.

<!--

When April 15 approaches you see an accountant. When it comes to fat loss, health, fitness see a Fitness Professional. A Fitness Professional is more than just a personal trainer. They offer guidance in the gym and outside as well. This article is intended to give you the information you need to find a Fitness Professional that will help you reach your goals.

A true Fitness Professional "Walks the Talk." How so? They eat healthy meals throughout the day, a cup of coffee and some protein bars do not constitute healthy. Meals are planned ahead and time is spent cooking them. A few hours of exercise is part of their weekly routine, week in and week out. No excuses are made for not training.

There is an ability to relate. In other words they are not body beautiful. Their level of health and fitness was earned. They weren't blessed with low body fat, a super fast metabolism, the ability to run a 10K, or the strength to lift a mountain. A few times per week they exercise. Fitness Professionals set health and fitness goals for themselves, mark their progress, and achieve them. The goal does not matter, what does is that they set a goal and work towards it. This gives the Fitness Professional first hand perspective to draw from and relate to the client and their goals.

Tip! Personally, I myself have never paid for the services of a personal trainer mainly because I've always believed that I don't see the necessity for me to have one. I think I know how to eat right, I know what to do at the gym to achieve my goals, and I know how to motivate myself for my workouts.

The Fitness Professional realizes that setting goals and holding oneself accountable is difficult. Whether it is getting up early, or staying up late they find ways to stay on track. Realizing life is always through curves this gives them perspective to show you the client how to hit the curve ball out of the park.

All to often folks masquerade as personal trainers. Many have been gifted with a healthy appearing and toned body. They are "BODY BEAUTIFUL." Yet their lifestyle is anything but healthy. They do not "Walk the Talk." Eating good food every few hours is unheard of. Setting concrete goals and achieving them is unheard of. No this does not mean they have to body build, run marathons, or powerlfitit does mean they should know what it is like to set and achieve health and fitness goals. Individuals like this will count your reps while staring lackadaisically into the mirror or space, on your time.

If you have never seen your trainer exercise and see them live off bars and shakes in the pro shop you their value should be questioned.

Tip! What is a Personal Trainer A personal trainer acts as a partner who can help you set up a fitness program that meets your personal wellness goals. He or she informs you on the best exercises for your needs, keeps you motivated and tracks your progress.

How can an individual that does not eat right, rarely trains, and doesn't set goals for personal achievement help you? The reality is they can't. How can they take someone somewhere they have never personally been? They can't!

Qualities of a Personal Trainer that is a true Fitness Professional!

Current Training Certification
Liability Insurance
Current CPR
A "Walk the Talk" approach to health and fitness!

The right personal trainer can make a big difference in attaining your goals. Spend time and make the best choice and hire a professional. You and your results are that important.

** This article is the property of FitWorkz.com and Ergoteknix Inc. By following the instructions in the books you have transformed your body tremendously and are now the proud owner of an attractive and desirable body not to say you are also glowing with excellent health and fitness.

If you're a personal trainer - it's most likely this article is going to offend you. So, be warned.

If you've sticked around long enough on my website, you would have realised by now that I'm not really a big fan of personal trainers. Now, don't get me wrong - this is not because I don't believe they are good, but mainly because I believe there are so many personal trainers out there, who despite the certification they possess, still lack the experience, the knowledge, and most importantly - the personal passion for the pursuit of physical fitness.

I've always believed that a personal trainer needs to walk the walk, and talk the talk! No point trying to motivate someone to lose weight if you're a fat ass yourself, don't you think? Take a look at the available personal trainers at your gym - how fit are they? Or just how full of bullshit are they? If they're supposedly good at helping you 'bulk up' and help you gain muscle - do their physiques themselves show off their capability? Or if their expertise is 'weight loss', are they so lean and fit that they deserve to be admired? Cos if they're overweight and flabby themselves, trust me - that simply shows the amount of motivation that they themselves lack to improve their very own physique. Don't agree with me? Too bad then.

Tip! You often have to make guesses to try and figure out what works best when you exercise alone. A personal trainer will be able to see past all the gimmicks and point you in the best direction.

Personally, I myself have never paid for the services of a personal trainer mainly because I've always believed that I don't see the necessity for me to have one. I think I know how to eat right, I know what to do at the gym to achieve my goals, and I know how to motivate myself for my workouts. I almost ALWAYS have productive workouts due to my strict focus, discipline, and mental preparation before every workout, plus - the music on my MP3 player helps me to stay in 'my own world' when I'm working out and in giving 101%. On top of all that, I see results.

However, for those of you who are in need of a little extra help - perhaps you're a little clueless as to what to do at the gym? Or in need of some guidance, tailored nutritional advice, workout routines 100% tailored especially for you, and if you have the money to spare - then by all means, do get yourself a personal trainer! Not only would they would be able to guide you, but they would help keep your progress in check and take you to new levels of awareness - hopefully helping you succeed in reaching your fitness goals.

Tip! A personal trainer is an exercise professional so their credentials should demonstrate this. Check to see if the trainer has had a formal education in exercise science, physiology or sports medicine.

The problem, however, in my opinion (especially here in my country Malaysia) is the lack of properly qualified personal trainers. Though they exist somewhere out there, they're not easy to find - especially if you're new to the gym and are totally clueless. Plus, it's easy to be 'seduced' by the sweet talk of the personal trainer you get through your 'complimentary sessions' at the gym. If you ask me, most of them are just out there to meet their sales targets and make a living. Are they really, honestly concerned if you meet your goals? Would they call you to talk to you, be your friend, or allow you to call them anytime at all you have a doubt, or if you're worried or confused on what to eat?

Disgustingly, some personal trainers I've known are only interested to get into the skirts of their clients (believe me). I know one personal trainer from a particular branch at my gym who used to offer my female friend ENDLESS FREE SESSIONS in exchange for a date! And at the end of every session - he would ask her out. Of course, she never really agreed - but he would even try to talk and hint naughty thoughts at her.. and I'm sure she's not the only one. Why is it that all the females seem to get the 'FREE SESSIONS' even if they don't qualify for it? Why don't they approach the men to give free sessions instead? When they train their female clients, they touch them more, they help them more, they get closer to them physically. I don't see them doing the same to their male clients. How come? I've got nothing to say.

Tip! Some people that are already confident working out on their own still get personal trainers. The reason for more advance trainers going back to a personal trainer can be any number of things, here are just a few that you might consider.

I've always personally believed that a personal trainer needs more than a 'certification'. They need the passion, the experience (this is so important), and the gifted ability to simply be able to motivate even the laziest person on earth. Does someone like this exist? Of course they do! You just need to look harder.

Josh Stone, also known as DM, is the author behind the site http://www.dailymuscle.com which offers the author's personal views on real-life fitness, bodybuilding, sports nutrition, cardio, fat loss, training information, and on all things that surrounds fitness.

<!--

Gone are the days of a trainer setting you up on a Nautilus machine, and counting repetitions while you perform the exercises.

A good personal trainer will have an initial appointment with you to find out your goals, assess any injuries, and find out your likes, dislikes and past exercise experiences. If you fill out a health questionnaire, make sure the trainer doesn't just "collect it", but make sure they look it over and discuss with you, any medical issues or potential problems.

A qualified personal trainer should be able to spot a person's weaknesses, and assess and recommend exercises for rehabilitating and preventing common athletic injuries.

Today's trainers should be able to provide a wide range of exercises for you with a variety of training equipment. This will target different muscle groups, and keep training challenging and fun!

"Functional Training" and "Interval Training" are two phrases that have almost become clich in the fitness industry today. Interval training is exercising at a high intensity for a short period of time followed by a longer duration of lower intensity exercise. It is beneficial for people with less time availability, but should only be recommended for those already at a high level of fitness. Functional training is performing exercises that simulate your everyday activities, or are specific to your sport.

Tip! Motivation is one of the most important value of a personal trainer for the neophyte to the gym as well as the more experience bodybuilder. In the case of the new comer a personal trainer will help to keep you on your schedule and help you reach your goals.

Picking a Pro: Look for credentials. There are so many certifying bodies, that credentials can look like alphabet soup, and all certifications are not equal. Five of the major certifying groups are: the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), the American Counsel on Exercise (ACE), and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). Requirements for personal training certification vary widely, with those from the ACSM and the NSCA being the most rigorous. A trainer with a degree in fitness will be top notch!

People looking to hire a personal trainer can expect to pay anywhere from $60-$80 an hour and up.

Get References: Whether you are looking to train in a gym or you will hire the services of a private trainer, ask for references. A good trainer should have a portfolio of references, or at least be able to provide you with some contact numbers to reach past clients. Ask about results, demeanor, overall satisfaction of the client's sessions with your trainer.

Tip! Rather than re-hash the details of the typical How to Choose a Personal Trainer cliche, this article provides the lay consumer just two helpful pieces of information to help when deciding on how to choose a personal trainer.

You are going to be paying good money for the services. Make sure your trainer comes highly recommended.

Fire Your Trainer! If you are not happy with your trainer, don't be afraid to question them or seek the advice of another Fitness Professional. If your trainer is constantly late or cancels appointments, doesn't give you their full attention during every session, or your personalities just don't synch (too hard-core; too much talking), it's okay to look elsewhere.

Keep in mind that results will vary from client to client, and you may not see results for even a month! If this is the case, ask your trainer why you are not seeing results yet, but don't blame this one on the trainer right away!

In-Home Training: If you don't belong to a gym, don't worry! There are lots of trainers who will come to your home or office, many of whom will bring all of the equipment to you. Keep in mind that these trainers usually charge more, but you have to weigh out the convenience of training in your own home, and not having to buy equipment or a gym membership.

If any trainer tells you that you need to buy certain equipment before they train you, look elsewhere.

Tip! What is a Personal Trainer A personal trainer acts as a partner who can help you set up a fitness program that meets your personal wellness goals. He or she informs you on the best exercises for your needs, keeps you motivated and tracks your progress.

Medical History: Before you start training, you should go through an "interview" process with your potential trainer. The trainer should ask you your medical history. If they don't, or if you fill it out on a sheet, but the trainer doesn't even look at the medical history, beware.

During this interview, make sure you ask any questions or discuss any concerns that you have. Think of it as you interviewing them, not the other way around.

With over 300 National Personal Training certifications out there, it is important to know what you're getting into. Take your time, do your research and check their references. If you do all of this, you'll better your chances of having a successful outcome with your trainer.

Wes Norris is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He has a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science and over 5 years working in a Physical Therapy/Hospital setting.
Wes currently works for Hartford (CT) Hospital as a Fitness Specialist and teaches for a National Personal Training Certification.

Tip! Finding a personal trainer in Chicago can seem like a daunting task. A client should not be embarrassed or scared to use this test; it is the full right and privilege of the client to interview and consult with the trainer before committing on a long-term or contractual basis.

One of the most honest assessments for most of us is that we're procrastinators. We'll delay and wait for as long as possible especially if what needs done are lifestyle changes. Take for example the need for more exercise.

We're a nation of people that sign up at the local health clubs, buy all the expensive equipment then proceed to go round and round the parking lot looking for a close spot so we don't have to walk so far. Come on, you know that's true! Who hasn't seen people at all stores traveling the equivalent of several miles looking for that just right close parking spot.

One thing that seems to work however is to obtain the services of a personal fitness trainer. Fitness trainers typically will be found in almost every gym but can be located by simply calling a cardiologist. Many highly qualified and skilled lifestyle people are associated with cardiologist. Cardiology by the way is the heart doctor, which is what we'll all be needing if the snack foods aren't replaced with healthier foods. LOL

A fitness trainer will create a health and exercise plan that will then be monitored for progress. By having someone holding us accountable, the potential for success is greatly increased.
While we're on the subject of success, we should also practice what we preach and enforce the same type of healthy choice lifestyle on the rest of the family. After all, didn't someone once say that misery lover company. :o)

Tip! Personally, I myself have never paid for the services of a personal trainer mainly because I've always believed that I don't see the necessity for me to have one. I think I know how to eat right, I know what to do at the gym to achieve my goals, and I know how to motivate myself for my workouts.

Seriously, here are a few ideas that can help get all of us and our families back into some shape other than "round"

1. Explain the difference between healthy and not so healthy food choices but DO NOT NAG. The idea is to make better choices most of the time not be perfect!

2 Prepare healthy meals. Quit the burger and taco runs and calling that dinner. One of the biggest problems with our diets isn't that we eat to much but that it's the wrong kind of foods. And those wrong kind of foods are in most cases sold by corporate conglomerates looking for profits not a healthy customer.

3. Never use food as a reward. If food is a big part of some outing, (popcorn at the theater) start to change that behavior by having other, more healthy snacks available. Our family would buy candy and oil laden popcorn at the movies and still do but in much smaller quantities. We lower the amount of the bad foods by bringing in bags of those small baby carrots to munch on. It's now preferred by many of the kids and are considered a movie snack!

Tip! A personal trainer is an exercise professional so their credentials should demonstrate this. Check to see if the trainer has had a formal education in exercise science, physiology or sports medicine.

4. When you can walk to do something, do it. Don't just get into the car to go a couple of blocks.

A personal fitness trainer can go a long way to helping with ideas like these. Interview trainers and look for one that's not interested in changing your world overnight. The best personal trainer is one who sees the progress and works to see those little successes turn into major lifestyles changes.

Abigail Franks writes on a variety of subjects which include family, home, and health. She has researched the importance of diet and exercise. So, be warned.

If you've sticked around long enough on my site, you would have realised by now that I'm not really a big fan of personal trainers.

Tip! You don't need a fitness personal trainer because you hated the commitment that entails once you hire a personal trainer. Anyway, you have been working out for many years without any commitment to anyone, even to yourself and that is why, you only workout as and when you are pleased.

The problem, however, in my opinion (especially here in Malaysia) is the lack of properly qualified personal trainers.

Tip! Exercise A good personal trainer will assess your physical abilities and discuss your goals before creating an exercise program. Once created, he or she will train you on each exercise and piece of equipment, ensuring that you are using proper form and technique, thus ensuring faster and better results from your efforts.

Disgustingly, some personal trainers I've known are only interested to get into the skirts of their clients (believe me). I know one personal trainer from a particular Fitness First branch who used to offer my female friend ENDLESS FREE SESSIONS... in exchange for a date!

I've always personally believed that a personal trainer needs more than a 'certification'. They need the passion, the experience (this is so important), and the gifted ability to simply be able to motivate even the laziest person on earth. Does someone like this exist? Of course they do!

Tip! Motivation is one of the most important value of a personal trainer for the neophyte to the gym as well as the more experience bodybuilder. In the case of the new comer a personal trainer will help to keep you on your schedule and help you reach your goals.

Everybody, I'm about to do something so unlike of me now.. to those of you looking for a personal trainer - I'm going to recommend you guys someone who I personally believe has all that it takes to help you achieve your goals.

Meet Julian Underwood (I hope I got his name right).

Why does dailymuscle.com recommend Julian?
He's never trained me, but I've watched him train others, and believe me - I'm impressed. He once saw me working out and experimenting on something new, and he came up to me and commented on it. I was surprised that he even knew what I was trying to do. This was 1 year ago.

Julian seems like a serious, down-to-earth, no-nonsense guy. But most importantly, I've watched him talk, and motivate his clients. Just hearing him count your reps and stand by you as you workout is enough to convince me that he's good. He is able to motivate you to push past your limits... and I like that. Put it this way - If I were to get a personal trainer for myself, he would be my choice. He also looks way fitter than most of the younger personal trainer newbies you see at the gym. Also, if you're interested to know - I've seen him sit at the panel of judges for an International Fitness event held locally in Malaysia a few years ago - so I believe he is someone experienced, well known, and respected in the Fitness industry here in Malaysia. Its just that he never told most people. ;)

Tip! I've always personally believed that a personal trainer needs more than a 'certification'. They need the passion, the experience (this is so important), and the gifted ability to simply be able to motivate even the laziest person on earth.

How much is Julian paying me for this publicity?
Ha ha. I wish! Julian probably doesn't even know that dailymuscle.com exists. He doesn't even know me.. Hmm. if he did know that this site exists.. it would be nice if he said hi though. Julian are you there?

How can you contact Julian?
Julian works for Fitness First at their corporate office besides being a personal trainer. I see him often at the Fitness First at Menara Manulife Damansara Heights and also sometimes at the Fitness First at Menara Axis. So if you're interested to contact him, do give Fitness First a call and you should be able to locate him from there. For contact details, head over to Fitness First Malaysia's website.

Josh Stone, also known as DM, is the author behind the site http://www.dailymuscle.com which offers the author's personal views on real-life fitness, bodybuilding, sports nutrition, cardio, fat loss, training information, and on all things that surrounds fitness.

<!--

I fully believe that you the client have the right to expect certain things from a Trainer/Coach.

There are literally thousands of "personal trainers" in New York City alone claiming that they have the ability to help you with improving posture, bodybuilding, nutrition, coping with the stress of everyday life, sports specific training among many other things. While many of these trainers are without a doubt qualified to help, Far too often, a client will put him or herself in the hands of a trainer who may potentially do more harm than good. This article will briefly describe some things to look for when selecting a trainer.

Tip! Another factor to consider is the price. Choose a personal trainer that charges fairly but who isn't necessarily cheap.

There are many factors to take into account when selecting a trainer. Education, practical experience and personality are some of the many things that may be taken into account but there are some basic requirements for any trainer. First of all, any trainer that you work with should either have a degree in a fitness related field or be certified by a major certification body. There are many "personal trainer" certification programs and the best ones are the NSCA, CSCS, NASM, ACSM, ACE. The trainer should also have current CPR training as well as insurance if they are not an employee of a health club. Another hugely important thing to take into consideration is your own personal health history. Are you injured or have any previous injuries? Any illness or disease? If there are any existing medical problems, you should make sure that your trainer has adequate experience and knowledge in dealing with it.

Beyond those basic requirements, the rest is somewhat subjective. Personality is a huge thing to take into account. Some people want a drill sergeant, others want someone laid back. The best thing to do is sit down with any potential trainer, talk to them and try out a couple of sessions before committing to a long term package. Always be weary of anyone making claims that sound too good to be true because they probably are. This is by no means an exhaustive essay on selecting a trainer but a few things to look for in any trainer with whom you may potentially start working with.

Tip! You don't need a fitness personal trainer because you hated someone to push and encourage you so that you can achieve your health and fitness goals much faster. If you are reading this article of which you are doing now, you are probably surprised to find why a fitness personal trainer like me is telling you why you don't need one. You will probably think that I am crazy. Perhaps I am. Well, read on and you may discover that I am not as crazy as you think after all.

Tip! A personal trainer should also help the client understand why they need to do certain exercises depending on the outcome of the client.

You don't need a fitness personal trainer because you hated the commitment that entails once you hire a personal trainer. Anyway, you have been working out for many years without any commitment to anyone, even to yourself and that is why, you only workout as and when you are pleased. Well, you do concede that the results you get are never satisfactory and of course you are frustrated with your results. But what the heck, you prefer to waste time, waste gym membership fees and enjoy getting frustrated. You are entitled to your liberty.

You don't need a fitness personal trainer because you hated someone to push and encourage you so that you can achieve your health and fitness goals much faster. Your idea of going to the gym is to socialize and to chat up girls. So why should you subject yourself to a regimen planned by a personal trainer who can sculpt your body to be more attractive and desirable to the girls you wanted to chat up? Your beer belly will do just fine. Girls just love big beer bellies you justify to yourself. So who needs a flat tummy with those ugly six pack abs? You certainly don't.

You don't need a fitness personal trainer because you believe in the precept of "no pain no gain." So if you exercise using the wrong form and techniques resulting in painful or even worse, permanent injuries, well, that is pain isn't it? So therefore with pain, there will be gains. Hmmm, such profound reasoning that even the great philosopher Confucius will be confused if he is still alive eh?

You don't need a fitness personal trainer because you pay your income taxes. So without someone to guide and train you scientifically, you will not lose much body and visceral fat, so you will still have that high blood pressure, that potential stroke and heart attack, so that you will eventually land in a government subsidized hospital and so that some of the taxes which you have paid will be utilized by yourself. That is great clever thinking eh? You are glad that even without a PHD in business studies, you can figure out how to get a wonderful return of investments from your taxes paid

Tip! If you've sticked around long enough on my site, you would have realised by now that I'm not really a big fan of personal trainers. Now, don't get me wrong - this is not because I don't believe they are good, but mainly because I believe there are so many personal trainers out there, who despite the certification they possess, still lack the experience, the knowledge, and most importantly - the personal passion for the pursuit of physical fitness.

You don't need a fitness personal trainer because you believe in conforming to the society. After all, most people in your country are overweight and not exactly glowing with good health, then why should you be otherwise? You are delighted to be like most people, obese and unhealthy. Hey, you are a good citizen aren't you?

Tip! Personality. A great personal trainer is one who is dedicated to your fitness objectives.

You don't need a fitness personal trainer because you can spy on people who hired personal trainers in your gym. You eavesdrop on their trainers giving instructions and then you secretly work out according to what you have overheard not realizing that each and everyone is different and workout plans are to be tailored to each individual condition factoring in other issues like lifestyle, dietary habits and even the choice of exercises. You prefer to "monkey see, monkey do" and eventually falling painfully off the tree. Or should I say falling off the Empire State Building where the mighty King Kong fell?

The most compelling reason why you don't need a fitness personal trainer is because you have downloaded my "Burn Fat Build Muscles Fast" e-books and now you have a personal trainer in your hands. By following the instructions in the books you have transformed your body tremendously and are now the proud owner of an attractive and desirable body not to say you are also glowing with excellent health and fitness. Whoever said that you need to hire fitness personal trainers in order to own a lean mean attractive muscular body that only others can dream of must be crazy, don't you agree?

About The Author
Chris Chew is a fitness personal trainer of fashion models, actors and male pageant titleholders.
More free tips at his his websites http://www.sgfitness.com and http://www.sgfitnessonline.com.

<!--

It really is easier to exercise with someone around and a personal trainer is just the right person to have on your side if you have a fitness goal you're sweating to attain.

Go into almost any gym and you will see some bad trainers, also good trainers, but
the bad trainers out number the good trainers.

Personal trainers who don't live what they teach should be ashamed of themselves if they can't take control of their own life, how can they motivate you to better life.

If these trainers want to change peoples lives they should live this way too.

I personally seen people get certified that were fat, even seen one guy who could not
even balance himself on one foot, yet they were certified as personal trainers- CRAZY.

Basically what I'm saying is certification isn't always the answer, experience can go along
way, if you find the right person.

John Grube is an expert on the subject of bodyweight training. Though they exist somewhere out there, they're not easy to find - especially if you're new to the gym and are totally clueless.

Personal trainers can be a great help when you are trying to get in shape. They can tell you what exercises to do, how to do them and are a great motivational force. They can drive you to get in shape or to reach a new level of physical fitness. A good personal trainer is worth their weight in gold, but a bad one can aggravate and de-motivate you. So how do you find a good personal trainer? You can't just pick one and hope for the best. You have to do a little research to find the one who is right for you. This article will help you screen your personal trainers so you can find the one that's right for you.

The first thing you need to look at is the education level of the personal training specialist. Find out what personal
training schools they have attended, what certifications they hold and how much hands on training they have. There are quite a few different schools and certifying bodies in the personal training industry and one may not necessarily be better than the other. The important thing is that they have some education. If a personal trainer takes their career seriously, they will have obtained some official training and will be eager to talk about it.

The next thing that you should check for is references. Ask them for a few names of happy customers that would recommend them. If they are doing a good job, they will probably have dozens of satisfied customers who will sing their praises. You should also see who they are training. If they are mainly training hardcore body builders and you just want to lose a few pounds, they may not be for you.

Tip! The most compelling reason why you don't need a fitness personal trainer is because you have downloaded my Burn Fat Build Muscles Fast e-books and now you have a personal trainer in your hands. By following the instructions in the books you have transformed your body tremendously and are now the proud owner of an attractive and desirable body not to say you are also glowing with excellent health and fitness.

Another factor to consider is the price. Choose a personal trainer that charges fairly but who isn't necessarily cheap. Always beware of the lowest bidder. If they charge much lower than everyone else, you have to wonder why they value their service so little. Seek the middle ground in price, not too high but not too low.

The last thing that you need to take into consideration is personality. Find someone who you like and can get along with. If you do not like your trainer, you will probably stop going so this is very important. Spend a little time getting to know them. Ask them some questions to see how they respond. Are they condescending or arrogant with their answers? If you can't get along or you find yourself annoyed by them in just a 5 minute interview, you will not be happy in the long run.

By just doing a little research, you greatly improve your odds of finding a good personal trainer whom you like. Once you have done that, you will greatly improve your odds of reaching your physical fitness goals.

Tip! Some people that are already confident working out on their own still get personal trainers. The reason for more advance trainers going back to a personal trainer can be any number of things, here are just a few that you might consider.

For more information on physical fitness, visit the Personal Trainer Directory.

<!--

A personal trainer knows that while guys may want to bulk up'; a girl might want to slim down. A good personal trainer will know what to do to get the desired look wanted by their client.

To get started, it really comes down to lessons from instructors about how different exercises affect the human body. The key to being a good personal trainer is not just knowledge of how the body works but continuing education on new ways to improve our bodies. When clients ask you about your background as a personal trainer, you should be able to tell them that your education is ongoing, that you continue to take classes yourself on exercise and health and nutrition.

Once you feel comfortable with your knowledge about a personal trainer, your next step is to start doing what personal trainers do, hang out at the gyms. Sometimes the best way to get clients is to not only participate in the gym's daily activates, but to observe other clients and how they are doing. If you see someone struggling with some of the equipment, ask him or her if they would like some help. A helping hand is a great way to open a conversation and promote your business.

Tip! Motivation is one of the most important value of a personal trainer for the neophyte to the gym as well as the more experience bodybuilder. In the case of the new comer a personal trainer will help to keep you on your schedule and help you reach your goals.

To command attention from a crowd of people concerned about their health, you could also offer free classes at the gym or at the local YMCA. Keep these classes short, about twenty minutes, of light and easy exercises but don't make them feel like they have done nothing all class either. Everyone could benefit from a little aerobic exercise. While they are learning, teach them about proper form, breathing techniques and brag about the results you have had with other clients. It draws attention and desire from people looking to get the same results you can produce.

When you have a few clients under wing, the next step might be to specialize. You can narrow your market and make it easier. It also gives you an opportunity to work with the people you want to work with. Maybe you prefer to work with new mothers, or elderly people. Perhaps you'd like to work with kids, all this could be narrowed down and specialized.

Tip! By just doing a little research, you greatly improve your odds of finding a good personal trainer whom you like. Once you have done that, you will greatly improve your odds of reaching your physical fitness goals.

Remember, you can only stretch yourself so thin, so think about the number of clients you can reasonably handle, and still take time off your self. It's okay to say no to new clients but get their number in case you get an opening or invite them to a trainer buddy who will give you a commission for referrals.

Getting fit with a personal trainer should be fun as well as educational, on both ends. Remember to have fun and enjoy working with your clients and they will come back for more.

Jan Nicholas - For more tips like these go to http://www.personaltrainingclasses.com/ where you will learn how to keep in shape and start your very own personal training career!

<!--

They assess clients' fitness needs of clients and develop plans based on them. Personal trainers provide personal training, present classes and instruct on proper nutrition. Personal trainers must have a strong understanding of the functions and vital processes of the human body so they can effectively design and deliver personal nutrition and physical fitness training programs. It is critical to be knowledgeable in health promotion at every stage of growth and development to meet the needs of various clients. A good personal trainer must be energetic and motivating, always encouraging their clients to reach maximum performance.

I believe that everyone can use the assistance of a personal trainer.

"If you need legal advice you consult a lawyer, if you are sick you see a doctor, f you need your hair cut to go to a professional, so why do people expect to get exercise results without professional help."

I know if I want something done well I talk to someone who has studied the area I need assistance in. If you assess how the exercise is performed or how the machine makes you move,
often we don’t imitate those movements in life. If you do a leg extension for example, you are
taking the quadriceps muscles and working them independently of the rest of the body. When in
your daily movements would you use the quadriceps independent of the rest of your body?

Functional Training

Increases Metabolism

Improves Strength

Improves Balance

Improves Speed

Reduces Injury

<!--

But first you have your reasons, remember this is about you. So when you’re ready who would be the best trainer for me? So you go to the gym, a personal training studio or check out an ad for personal fitness training. What are the most important factors? Is it what the trainer looks like; is it their knowledge, experience, gender, education, certification or area of expertise?

I want to lose weight, walk up stairs without pain, relief from my constant back pain, feel better, slim and tone, to be buff, run a marathon, keep up with my Grandchildren, or look awesome on my wedding day.

I’ve heard people say “they can’t have any good trainers here; none of them are built like Arnold”. “That trainer is overweight, how can he or she help me?” “How can a man/woman (opposite sex) help me?” Does it really matter what the trainer looks like? I mean really? There are times when people don’t appear to fit their occupation. Does that mean they can’t do a really great job? No! So why would I choose a personal trainer based on appearances?

Tracy Rollo is an Edmonton Personal Trainer who specializes in meeting your needs and your goals. What kind of information does the personal trainer ask you, do they seem interested in you, what are their credentials and experience, do you feel at ease with this person?

So many factors go into the trainer/client relationship. You may find your definition of ‘the best trainer’ but his or her personality just doesn’t work with yours. All dimensions must be considered, remember this is all about you.

Tracy Rollo is an Edmonton Personal Trainer who specializes in meeting your needs and your goals. There are as many different trainers as there are doctors, hair dressers or teachers and you must find the best one for you. The more a trainer fits into your life the better your chance of success.

Your commitment should never be discounted but who you choose to assist you is equally important. If you are initially unsure, start of with a few sessions or a small package (10 or less). You should never have to commit to longer than a couple of weeks or even a month. Though starting off with a ‘program’ when you start is not recommended. With a ‘program’ there are many variables which can take away from your success. A ‘program’ is best for a person with at least a year experience, though not recommended by all personal trainers. It’s kind of like being computer literate the moment you turn a computer for the first time, it takes time to learn. Without education it is impossible to know all the ins and outs.

Tracy Rollo is an Edmonton Personal Trainer who specializes in meeting your needs and your goals.
