Please note that Admin didnt interfere in choosing the finalists. Except for some blogs that was disqualified due to not having the requirements provided and their place is given to the next in ranking. All blogs are listed according to the number of nominations they got. Some categories have less than 5 finalists. This is due to lack of nominations.

The Voting Stage starts from 13-27th October 2009 and ONE winner from each categories will be announced on the next day. You can only vote once, and as we didnt have specific way to know who's voting twice or more, we hope you all will be honest and respect this sacred awards; no cheating.

We're sorry to announce that we require your name in the Voting Form as one way to avoid cheating. All votes will not be disclosed to the outside. This is actually beneficial to you because we're planning to give those who have most of his/her vote become the winner will get a special prize (maybe). ONLY PERUBATAN's member have the rights to vote.

Prizes will be announced later. As for now we have some banners for the winners, like the cheap awards you see on any blog, except that it is officially given by mediaPERUBATAN as representative of the voters. We're currently having LE1000 for hampers as prizes but if we have sponsors, next time we'll try to grab a DSLR. =P

Dear Readers,

For Aidilfitri Celebration this year, mediaPERUBATAN proudly brings you Egypt Blog Awards 2009 for the first time. No more unofficial Award Tags you got from your blogging friends, we brings you the real awards with the real gifts worth more than LE1000! (Joking, who needs money in this virtual world?)

This blog awards is held to recognize the excellence of renowned medical bloggers from the Egypt region, and maybe one day we'll be having the award for the Middle East region, who knows? There is always a first step to a bigger jump.

Honouring the best of the blogosphere, we will be running two weeks of open nominations and two weeks of voting. Stay tuned for more information this 27th September!

STAGE 1: Nomination

The inaugural mediaPERUBATAN Egypt Blog Awards 2009 starts a week after Eid. This is the crucial stage of nominating your favourite bloggers in PERUBATAN. Nominations are open to all bloggers in the organization. mediaPERUBATAN is putting the power in your hands to tell us who deserves to be nominated for these 9 categories:

The top 5 nominees from each categories will be shortlisted based on your nominations and our panel to go through the voting stage.

Nominations are open from 27th September to 11th October 2009.

STAGE 2: Voting

The top 5 nominees for all 9 categories would be announced on the 12th October. Nominees would be given two weeks period to rally for votes.

A. Buat database backup

i. backup SQL (phpMyAdmin)
ii. backup semua file sekurang-kurangnya dua bulan sekali (FTP @ Direct - kene ade internet laju, saiz keseluruhan file: lebih kurang 700mb)

B. Pantau semua kerja Ketua Jabatan (Bantu Webmaster)

C. Cari bakat2 baru

D. Jaga semua subdomain, bukak baru kalau ade orang nak (atas kehendak webmaster)

i. Update Komuniti & Info
ii. Pantau semua subdomain terutama blog2 muhafazah

E. Bertanggungjawab atas semua coding dalam website & subdomain yg direct bawah PO. (HTML & PHP)

Sometimes this warning will appear at the top; indicating there's update for the Wordpress we're using. You're advised to upgrade as soon as possible, because updates are meant to fix bugs and security problems, and add new features or looks.

Since we've already installed Wordpress Automatic Upgrade plugin, the processes will be much easier.

Click the link and key in these data, then follow the steps one by one.

If you already upgraded the version, but the warning still comes up, dont worry, sometimes the plugin have some minor bugs due to the version upgrading and having uncompatibility with the new version.

USING FTP ACCOUNT
=================

First, download and install this Firefox Add-on: FireFTP

We'll use this software to upload files into the server; themes and plugins mostly.

Configure your FireFTP:
1-Create new account
2-Account Name: Create any.
3-Host: Check the note given; FTP Host
4-Login: Put the FTP account provided
5-Password: Same as above.

Connect to your account to start uploading files.
Plugins and themes need to be uploaded in this way.
Put all of them in the /wp-content folder.

First of all, please upload this plugin: Wordpress Automatic Upgrade plugin. Download, extract and then upload to the server. This plugin will help us in the future.

The latest Wordpress version (2.7+) added plugins installaton features so you dont need to use this tutorial for the plugins. Just open the Plugins section and you'll find Add New button there. Use this tutorial for the theme only:

Hi,
We are sorry for the late reply and update on the recent issue.
It seems that recently there has been a server breakdown for all the server in the rack.
Some are having a motherboard issue and some are the disk issue.
We are now doing our level best as to identified which of the problem hardware and have it replace immediately.
Some sites now are already recovered and some are still having the problem.
We are expecting to fixed this issue within 24 hours from now.
On behalf of our management, we truly sorry for this unfortunate event to happened.

It seems that the servers need to be changed and all contents after 24 November are lost and need to be uploaded again.

We'll cease all updates and wait for another 24 hours before begin updates on the PERUBATANonline and its subdomains.

Server maintenance has been finished successfully. PERUBATANonline and its subdomains can be surfed without problems from now on.
