(Finally, some Belize posts...)

We decided to celebrate my 29th in Belize...

I got to co-pilot the puddle hopper...

We did lots of snorkeling, went to the Lamanai ruins, rode bikes on the beach...and more snorkeling...

It was just gorgeous!!! I told Matt while we were sailing on the catamaran that I hope heaven has caribbean oceans and catamarans...ahhhhh! That is my happy place...

We made a little impromptu day trip home last Sunday to visit our families, and enjoyed a little pool time...

Someone got her first busted lip...

(the tip is normally non-existent, its pretty swollen here, now its purple and scabbed over=(

The hubs and I spread four yards of rock around the back yard...

Kind of a "once in a lifetime thing." Next time we will "hire some teenagers" as the guy at home depot said we should do.
We went to the pedi to get her ears checked and made sure the ear infection she had a few weeks ago was all gone..

I'm pretty sure a horse is on her birthday list...

We taught Elmo good hygiene...

and found out flashlights are cool...

How cute is this?found hereI came across this precious little shop, The Urban Lady, and I love love love her stuff! Just thought I would share a cute little find. Like I mentioned, I've been a little mia lately, mainly because I have a super busy 22 month old, can anyone relate?!? I have also been doing many productive things around here, like organizing, cleaning, and ya know, moving four yards of rock around to our backyard=) Happy Wednesday!

As promised, here is the last Hawaii post. I've been a little MIA lately, just been a little busy. Having a 22 month old will do that to you I guess=)

the last few days of our trip we spent traveling the the north side of the island...

Queens Bath is a sight to see, (and a little dangerous too!)

here is the pool that you can actually hike/walk down to and "swim" in most of the time...but not this time of year

remember what I said about high surf advisories...

ya...absolutely NO chance of swimming that day...now let's hurry and take a pic before we are shark bait...

here we are actually hanging out at our hotel beach...

Tour of Oahu

I lied. This is the second to last Hawaii post, somehow I forgot Oahu!!! How could I???

We planned and talked about our trip to Hawaii for many years, and we knew when we went, we wanted to see as much as we could. So, one of the days during our stay, we did a little island hopping over to Oahu. Pearl Harbor was probably one of the top sights we wanted to see, and it was SO worth the trip!

We then did a tour around the island, and stopped at several sights...

probably one of my fave stops...a macadamia nut farm and they had the BEST macadamia nut coffee...MMMM

ever seen an mongoose? squirrels are WAY cuter rodents...

overlook of Hanauma Bay where many people go snorkeling...

So so glad we did this Island hop. Seeing Pearl Harbor was amazing, and definitely worth it!Last post to come!

Week in pics

We went and fed the ducks at the Y..

Watched the doves in the backyard...

Wore her first pig tails...kind of a big deal, it only took 21 months...

Had play dates at the park..one of which was at an all abilities park,
which was very very cool!

And had some cuddle time with this guy because he's scared of

all the storms we've been having. SO thankful for the rain though!

Cate got her first ear infection from her first cold

with a fever she had a couple weeks ago,

(yes I said first, we made it 21 months!!)...

but she had fun at the dr. and is feeling MUCH better...

we drew pretty pictures with sidewalk chalk...

chased butterflies in the backyard...

helped daddy work...

and had a Jamba Juice date!

I decided to just title this "Cate's week in pics," because let's face it, my life revolves around her, and I love it. This week I have loved on her lots and she had brought me SO many smiles and laughs, and I'm so thankful for her. She is such a busy body now that I hardly have a chance to take pics, and when she does see my phone, she wants it to play with, so I'm lucky to get what I get=)

Her week started off with a date at Town Lake

She played outside a lot, went in and out the dog door...

Decided smoothie's taste WAY better out of mama's cup...

Now that it's 90 plus degrees in April, she played with her water table

And she worked on sayin' "CHEEEESEE" for me=)

Ducks, pigeons, birds, swans, fish and turtles were fed...

and fun was had!

We spent this past weekend on a ranch in the hill country, with seven couples, no kiddos, good food, good conversation, late nights...and even a girls trip to Fredericksburg...

and we even had a "hoedown" themed dinner Saturday night and surprised one of the girls for her birthday...

Tour of the Big Island Volcanoes

During our stay in Hawaii, we ventured over and toured some parts of the Big Island,

and then headed to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

We saw some gorgeous parks and waterfalls...

ventured into the jungle to see volcano made caves...

saw volcano smoke and craters...

walked on lots of solidified lava rock...

crawled into volcano rock caves

saw where the lava would just keep going down until it meets the ocean...

and where lava crossed the road after an eruption, and they had to rebuild it...

LOVED seeing and feeling the steam vents...it was very chilly as we were ascending up the mountain...(hence the layers of clothes...but these vents were AWESOME! Makes me want a sauna in my next house so I can have a daily steam...

free facial anyone? (or a free warm up for the moment?)

Smoke from the current active volcano...

and we went to an overlook to see the volcano in action. This is the closest/safest place to view this volcano, and the only way to see it is at night when it is glowing because it is a boiling hole. A hole the size of a football field with stadium seating.. Massive

There was a 4.something earthquake on the Big Island the day before we went there, I think this guy is pointing to where the earthquake hit...

our first time to see a seismograph...pretty cool.

and this one was pretty jumpy because of small aftershocks and such...pretty cool!

This really ended up being a very educational trip. We learned so much about Hawaii in general, it's culture, etc., and got to see mother nature at it's best, as you will see in the rest of the Hawaii posts...

Easter, better luck next year

A little Easter weekend recap.

We went home and did a little Easter egg hunt at The Jersey Barnyard. Cate wanted NOTHING to do with any of the animals except for the goats, and NOTHING to do with the egg hunt, Oh well, next year...

and yes baby, those are donkeys and cows!!

Then we tried round two egg hunt at Jojo's... Jojo, what happened?

Hopefully next year, she will be more into the eggs, and she will make it to church and not have to nap=)

Have y'all ever seen one of these?

It's a Galapagos tortoise.

Did y'all know that they can live to be 170 YEARS OLD?!?! Crazy!

As you saw, we went to the zoo this past weekend, and saw these guys for the first time. When I first saw them, I thought they were fake. True story. Matt laughed at me and gave me the look like "are you serious" and couldn't believe I said they were fake.

So last night, somehow we started talking about the turtles, and Matt googled them, and the fact that they can live to be up to 170 years old just stood out to us. I can't think of anything, (besides trees?!?!?) that live that long!!! Pretty insane. Now you know the lifespan of a Galapagos tortoise=)

Day at the Zoo

We headed out to the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco last Friday. Yes, we have been having lots of "animal" outings. Cate loves animals, and it seems much more fun to go and do these type of outings now, while the highs are in the mid 80s, (instead of 110 this summer) and school is still in session so it's much less crowded (in our favor as we have a 20 month old who does not stay in a stroller), and before our weekends start to get busier! Matt and I both really liked the Waco Zoo, maybe even better than San Antonio. The setting was just so much more natural, as it sits on a river. Lots of trees and shade and some parts were actually "rain forest" like.

We all had a fabulous time...

Hey y'all! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! We did!Since the weather here has STILL been so gorgeous, (and not too hot) we decided to take a last minute trip to the Waco zoo. I'm still going thru those pics, so I thought I would share some of my newest loves again!This new love, I just so happened to purchase...Chloe vs. TankIsn't it gorgeous? Somehow I came across a blog (I do this all the time, and can't remember how I find some of the things I find...) and it led me to Amanda's blog. I thought she was just darling, AND she has the cutest Etsy shop, named after her dogs, Chloe and Tank. I immediately fell in love with her shop and knew I wanted one of her bracelets. It took me a while to decide on one, but this yellow one was calling my name. I just love it! I love love love all the color combinations Amanda chooses in her designs, like none I've ever seen before, and absolutely PERFECT for spring and summer!
