Another view from the wheel. Kinda surreal seeing people floating around above the city in a little box like this.

This was the view from the wheel and hopefully explains why the guy from yesterday was taking the photo. Its not often you get to see Liverpool from this angle.

The Liverpool One wheel closed on Sunday. According to the Echo a new one is set to open shortly near to the Echo Arena. The wheel changed the landscape of Liverpool while it was here. Every time I drove down the Strand at night I’d see it reflected in One Park West in a sort of broken mirror style. I really do like it when something you take for granted is changed allowing a fresh take on the world. As you can see in this image of the classic Liverpool skyline its different now due to the wheel.

Over the years Anthony Gormley’s “Another Place” has turned into a bit of a cliche. Take his Ironmen, add sunset, bit of HDR and tada. I’ve done it. Most people on Flickr have. This photo hasn’t had HDR applied but its a bit of a cliche. How can I be sure? Well both Brian and Sam took almost the same photo as I did while we were there. There goes my unique take on it ;)

The Bluecoat is the oldest building in central Liverpool and home to ever changing art installations. It was recently renovated and re-opened in 2008. Annoyingly the sun never really shines on it so its hard getting a nice shot but I’m happy with this.

The Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship Black Rover docked in Birkenhead Docks a few weeks ago.

In rather stormy weather these guys were fishing and dodging waves as they came over the promenade.

Before the snow rudely interrupted things I had a few dramatic stormy river shots to post. I’ve got one or two more left along with plenty more snow shots. I won’t over do the snow though. Just a few more left. I’ve also got some other strangers, swans, and lovely skyline photos to put up. So its not all snow snow snow. Well, maybe one or two snowy landscapes from North Wales too. Just to compare city snow with rural snow.

I love the way St Lukes nicely fills the gap between each side of the street.
