This is the last surviving carriage from Liverpool’s overhead railway. This week its being installed at the new Museum of Liverpool. The overhead railway was the worlds first electrically-operated overhead railway. It opened in 1893 and closed in 1956. Its one of those things I wish I could have travelled on.

This is the first object to be installed at the new Museum of Liverpool.

A fairly crazy day yesterday. As with almost every Cunard visit in the past 3 years it was overcast and pouring down. Its very tricky taking a photo that really sells Liverpool as a stunning location when its this way. I’ve got a fantastic ship and stunning waterfront architecture to play with under a dull grey sky. I was out in the rain from 8am till 4pm. I was soaked and my gear had a very intense wash. But as you can see, by the end of the day everything worked out well.

The great thing about shooting from the same place is that you can easily see how this ship compares to Queen Mary 2.

The 2nd night of the ‘Wave to Picasso’ by Walk the Plank was even better. Mainly because they had the 3rd boat firing fireworks, but also because the actual fireworks were a step up from the previous night. Really great stuff with the music.

Brilliant evening last night at Salthouse Dock, by Albert Dock in Liverpool. ‘A wave to Picasso’ by Walk the Plank. Fireworks, flames, pyrotechnics, music, ships, and a stunning backdrop. Theres more over the weekend and this event is repeated tonight.
