It was a wonderful morning yesterday to end the year of with spending a little time with a 9 day old sweetie. Can't get much cuter than this, right? Just 6 pounds of newness. Oh I love newborns!

I can't believe how fast time has gone by. Too fast really. Sigh. I will never stop in my attempts to stop time in it's tracks. Now I know how my mom feels and when she sees me she thinks of me still often times, I am sure as a little 3 year old girl with pig tails. It's hard to watch these kiddies grow and grow but we enjoy it so much and stop to smell the flowers along the way. She is such a sweet baby and happy all the time. She very very rarely cries is the light of the family and gets so much attention from the siblings, they just adore her to pieces.

Smilie is 4 months now and I got a new baby poser and wanted to give it a trial-test run of sorts, it was so worth the money and is going to make posing my newbies so much easier! :-)

I was feeling really overwhelmed with the holidays. Trying to catch up after being sick hasn't been fun. Then I realized, ah, who cares? Being with my family and kids is really what counts in the long run and scheme of things. I took a moment to get my sweetums captured for her first Christmas and could not help but smile. She brings so much joy to our family. There's so much going in in our loves right now but I am choosing to focus on what is truly important. The true reason for this season is Christ and his birth. This helps me to slow down some, smile at the cashier when my card gets a swipe and not drive like a mad person all around town trying to get the perfect gift. It's just not worth it. BUT time spent with my kids IS so worth it. Sooo...we have turned it all around this year serving others and thinking of the less fortunate. Baking for others has been a fun opportunity to spend time in the kitchen together and putting goodie plates for others.

We are blessed in many ways.

I cannot say enough about the thankfulness I feel for all of my referrals. It is the ultimate compliment in getting such a huge pat on the back. I am truly so in awe of them and thanks eb to all my clients who send more new clients my way. Another beautiful maternity! I could shoot these all day without even blinking.

Little side note: most embarrassing moment ever had was during this session. While trying to get some height, I fell on flat out my bum. Oh well, at least I can laugh at myself! It was only a matter of time being in the field for 4 years now, it was bound to happen!! LOL Thank heavens for clients with a great sense of humor and light heart! We had a good laugh.

I could really get use to doing this age group! Ah! Tweens and Teens, I am LOVING it! They are just beautiful, right? SO grateful to have been able to capture them together before big sister leaves for Pepperdine.

Like your big sissy, you have big bright eyes. You love the world around you and bring pure joy to those in your family. You are a light of happiness miss smilie! Having you in our lives is love and you are surrounded by sisters and a brother who adore you and your every move. You love to coo and be held. Cuddle time at night in mommy's and daddy's bed is a must at 10 pm and you are a content and loving baby. We love you so much Smile Islie our beautiful water birth baby!

My sweet boy. You are now 4 and are such a content and happy boy. You do get a bit sneaky when mom isn't watching but all in all, you are obedient and a great helper. You were a BIG sun beam this year and love to sing primary songs. Popcorn popping is your all time fave! You like to dance too, you also like to bounce like a bunny at the oddest moments. You learned to pray on your own this year. You are a sweet spirit Jaxtin, we love you so much! Next year I will miss you all day b/c you will start school. But we'll cross that bridge when it gets here.

Little Miss Moody! What can I say? You've grown up so much! Turning 3 this year brought many challenges for you and mom :). But we got through it! You help mommy a lot with your new baby sister and are a sweetheart. You enjoyed swimming in the river this year and became a BIG sister in September! That was hard but you rose to the occasion and help mom so much. You are going to be a big sunbeam next year and I'm excited to watch how you grow in the coming months. You love to sing and dance and read with mommy. Still a cuddlebug at night, you are now in your own bed and mommy and daddy are so happy about that. :0) We love you so much Lily'rei, you are a precious girl to us, our Ella-Bella-Boo.

K'Leanne has had a wonderful year this year! She's grown so much and is such a great big sister now. She helps without being asked and brings calm and quiet to the home with her sweet spirit. She chose to be baptised this year, which was a wonderfull decision and we are so proud of you! You're doing so good in school and are at the top of your class and such a smart girl. I wanted to take a moment and give an update from this years on my kids for posterity's sake. :)

Little Red. What to say! You are a light of energy for our family and such a blessing to us all. You bring spunk and spirit and that's endearing. I know the move this spring was hard on you, having to leave your friends, but you have made HUGE strides and done so awesome in spite of it! You make friends easily and are every one's friend! I love your randomness and smile. You are a great help to your Dad and I both with your brother and sisters. I appreciate your helpfulness a lot!! You've had such a great year; top of your class in your old school and current one, too. Also Grand Marshal for the City of Fruitland as nominated by the City's Chamber of Commerce. Being the Marshal this year, you got to ride in your own float in the parade AND light the City's Christmas Tree!! We are so proud of you and we love you so much! You are off this week to see if you can win the school's Spelling Bee and I'm sure you'll do great! :-) You go girl!

Such a fun family! You'd never know it but it was below 40 degrees Saturday morning and yes, I was out shooting with my right hand girl, (my oldest) Matalee. Also known as the best assistant in the world, aka.

We had a lot of fun with these 3, they were ready for the session, smiles, goosebumps and all!! Thanks for the morning guys!

I've really been enjoying going through some old photos lately. I finally have decided to put some favorites on 8x10 canvas pieces for a 'family portrait wall'. Not ALL my favorites, just *some*. There's no way I'd have enough wall space for ALL of the images I have ever taken that I truly love. ;)

So I ran across this shot yesterday. It was taken 5 years ago yesterday exactly -- 11.22.06. It melted my heart. I remember exactly what was going in my life at the time. I was in a sad place; which for me was sooo strange! I'm pretty bubbly, happy and go lucky with life. However, we had lost THREE babies that year and I just didn't know how on earth I could get over the devastation of it all. The loss was great. I had had one miscarriage and had two birth mothers back out on us and keep their babies after choosing our family. It was hard to put it lightly. I could see everyone around me having babies and yet I still longed for more babies of my own; I always wanted a bigger family. One day around the time this shot was taken I gathered up my faith and began to start thinking INSTEAD of what I did have and what I was thankful for; instead of what I didn't. My mind and thoughts immediately went to my two beautiful girls. What a blessing they have been in my life! Adoption is pretty darn amazing and to be a part of it is SUCH a huge blessing.

Little did I know that our son, Jaxtin's, birth mother was pregnant at the very moment this was taken and in about two months from this time she would choose our family, and there again, adoption would bless us so wonderfully.

Who knew that after the past 5 years since this shot was taken, not only would we adopt our son, but go on to have and be blessed with two additional girls through birth. My life is good, I don't shout it out but have a quiet reserve and am so deeply, humbly blessed. I have to keep reminding myself that I am not the one in charge of all these blessings. And I never was.
