So the story is that Regina always wanted a horse and after realising that her parents weren't prepared to give in and get her one she trained her cow Luna to showjump instead!! Pretty amazing and just shows how smart and friendly cows are! Well done Regina and Luna :)

I received the following photos in an email this week. They're Norbert Rosing's striking images of a wild polar bear coming upon tethered sled dogs in the wilds of Canada 's Hudson Bay.

The photographer was sure that he was going to see the end of his dogs when thempolar bear wandered in.

It's hard to believe that this polar bear only needed to hug someone!

The Polar Bear returned every night that week to play with the dogs.

Just goes to show how amazing animals are!!

We are delighted to welcome Rachael Gordon BS, MVB on board as our resident pet vet.

Rachael hails from Princeton, New Jersey, U.S.A. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University in 1993, she stayed on for three years as a researcher in animal nutrition.  Encouraged by Conor McMahon,  MVB, MRCVS, Rachael applied to his alma mater, UCD, and arrived on Irish soil in 1996 to enter their program in veterinary medicine. After qualifying in 2001, she spent four years working in small animal practice in both Dublin and Kildare. Then, in 2005, Rachael joined Conor in opening Animals First Veterinary Hospital.

Aside from her veterinary work, Rachael enjoys gardening, cooking, painting, agility, and spending time with her menagerie.  During your visit to Animals First, you may meet her three dogs – Chloe, Bijoux, and Harvey. Her dogs are active members on PetTalk and would love to make friends with your pets! You may also hear her parrots, Picasso and Ted.

Hey Everyone

Sorry for the late post (and the lack of them this week) but this is worth the wait I promise.

Last week Jon told me he put all the pet photos under 1 link so that we could look at them all together ......anyway while I heard what he said I didn’t really hear it if you get me [sorry Jon :)]. So I was looking at the pictures of our new pet friends that joined today (a big hi and welcome to Chelsea, Pumba & Jake) when Jon helpfully pointed out “You know you could look at all the photo’s if you just clicked on Pet Photos”! And the Winner is...

After a very exciting weekend of voting and 21 fabulous competitors we're delighted to announce Mollie as the PetTalk Pet of the Expo 2010 with 113 votes. A huge congratulations to Mollie and her owners on their well deserved win.
