The name is Marmite.  The name is Dillinja and you either love him or hate him.  Whether the name is Dillinja, Capone, Trinity, Cybotron or any of his other aliases for a long time that name meant quality.  This mix focuses on a period in the late 90’s when this man could do no wrong and he pioneered a drum sound that is often imitated, seldom bettered but is yet to be matched.  Here are 31 reasons why you should give Marmite another chance!

In 2001, Axi bought his own PC and started producing tracks, he got in touch with, and formed a crew with Crossfire(dsci4), the two played on a few Belgium parties but after a while he decided to focus more on producing and go his own way. The tracks got played out by some well known dj’s and was noticed by Thesis from Atlanta who decided to sign Axi’s tunes on his own label, Corinthian Recordings. more bookings are coming in and with his first tunes signed, the future looks bright for this young dj/producer.

The Insiders are Ben Payne (Soundscape) and Joe Wills (Static) – a dynamic drum n bass production duo from Bristol, UK. Their take on drum n bass is best described as ‘deep’ with a progressive edge, and over the past few years they have released music on some of the most prestigious labels in the scene such Metalheadz, Creative Source, Renegade, 31 Records, & Good Looking. Insiders tracks have featured in the boxes of a multitude of top DJs and they have recently started their own label, ‘Intrigue Music’, as another outlet for their productions.

I’ve been obsessed with Digital’s warm, round, dubby sound since first hearing his tracks in the mid 90’s. Consistently managing to push forward the sound he has stayed true to his roots.

Notable for his Deep bass, Old school breaks and Dub samples, you can see his hardcore rave and techno influences throughout his massive discography. The prolific artist has released on some of the greatest labels on the scene.. 31, Metalheadz, Renegade Hardware, Reinforced. Not to mention his own labels, Phantom Audio and Function.. both of which feature seminal tracks such as Phantom Force, Jah Sessions and Gate Man.

I might do another mix at a later date as I have loads of great tracks that wouldn’t fit on this show!
