Nutritional supplements that are derived from food sources are considered whole food supplements. They can provide general nutrition, like a multi-vitamin, or targeted healing for a specific deficiency or condition.

Whole Food Supplements vs. synthetic supplements 100% readily available nutrients for complete absorption

Your kidneys aren’t weakened by having to process synthetic supplements

Synthetic vitamins are only 65% as active as natural vitamins

No man-made synthetic supplement can ever compare to the nutrients found naturally in foods. That is why whole food supplements are the only safe and effective form of vitamins and minerals, which is a hallmark of our products. Each supplement is baked by years of scientific research, something the vast majority of other supplementation companies cannot claim. Other whole food supplement manufacturers grow their food sources in yeast beds, while we always distribute the most potent organic whole food produce available on the market, with testing performed to determine nutritional content.

At Absolute Smile we strive to provide professional, knowledgeable, and friendly care to our patients. Our doctors and front desk consultants take pride in listening to your concerns, and explaining all procedures to your satisfaction, we also pride ourselves in practicing stringent infection control and utilizing modern sterilization techniques. Our offices uses individual disinfected water lines for each chair that prevents every patient from possible bacterial infection.

Hello, we are Dr. Boris Friedman and Dr. Eric Friedman. We feel privileged to be in the avant-garde of modern comprehensive dentistry in the Philadelphia and Bucks county area. Our philosophy for a full and healthy life extends beyond dental care. We are true believers in a distinct connection between the oral cavity and the overall health of the body. In our contemporary Bucks County practice we offer painless techniques to make the most comfortable experience possible for any procedure in a dental chair.

Our comprehensive range of services includes:

Mercury free fillings ,Tooth colored fillings, Cosmetic dentistry, treatment for gum problems, Fresh breath clinic, Crowns, Bridges, Dentures, Holistic root canal treatment, and Metabolic type nutrition.

With our philosophy, approach, knowledge, experience and commitment to excellence, we are very much a 21st century dental practice, providing comprehensive, high quality care and efficient friendly service.

Holistic/Biological Dentistry

As dentistry moves into the 21st century, it is providing a coupling of high tech materials, integration of techniques, and diagnostics with scientifically based research. Biological Dentistry can be categorized as dentistry with a conscious. A consciousness of how the treatments of the teeth and jaws will affect the health of the individual, of how it will affect the immune system.

The first area of concern in biological dentistry is the toxicity of metals and their release from the fillings and replacement appliances (metal partials and crowns that have nickel) used in dentistry. The most tragic example of misstated biocompatibility is organized dentistry’s poison- MERCURY- in amalgam fillings just because it has been used for 150 years! Mercury and other heavy metals from dental fillings contribute to all chronic disease states. These metal ions dissociate from their masses to diffuse, migrate, and become absorbed in the tissues altering the electrochemical character of the immune systems concomitantly changing the ratios and populations of the blood cells (decreased white blood cell count) and the cells of the immune system. In addition, these migrating metal ions stop or alter the function of the body’s enzymes.

The second area of biological concern is the extent and character of the direct electrical currents generated by the disassociation of dissimilar metals in an electrolyte media 9fluids and tissues of the human body). This is called “oral galvanism.

The next area of concern in biological dentistry is that of hidden or residual infection to include areas of necrosis of and chronic inflammation. Collectively these areas are called “Dental Interference Fields or Foci.” This is dentistry’s most ignored area of meaningful and effective therapeutic contributions in resolving chronic disease. These fields can lead to abnormal distant effects far removed from the original source and is most often chronic in nature. Biological dentists utilized materials reactivity testing to individualize the compatibility of dental materials used in the reparative and restorative aspects of dentistry. Material re-activities test is made from the patient’s blood serum. It indicates which materials may be suitable for the patient to utilize in the restorative aspect of his dental treatment. Other types of testing for individual biocompatibility for suitable dental materials are electro-dermal testing, and ART (AUTONOMIC RESPONSE TESTING).

Using all the knowledge and skills of probiotic (supporting life) dental medicine, biological dentists strive to provide individual biocompatibility testing, aesthetic, comfortable, functional and enduring dental artificial replacements. Biological dental treatment has the possibility of the stress reduction so great the patient loses all or many of their distressing chronic disease symptoms, which encompasses many pathological conditions. Biological dentistry is, out of necessity, the dental medicine of the 21st century.

At Absolute Smile we follow a holistic approach to dental health. This means we take a person’s overall health and wellbeing into consideration in whatever we do. The mouth, teeth and their supporting structure are a very important aspect of general health, and problems in the mouth can be very important in contributing to or causing other health problems. This is increasingly being recognized by health practitioners and the public alike. We basically do metal free dentistry, as we believe that metals in the mouth can be a cause of or contribute to health problems, due to electromagnetic effects caused by the metals.

In the light of the above, Absolute Smile offers an innovative approach to the health care of the mouth. Applied to the practice of health centered dental medicine the principles of natural healing may be stated as follows:

Proper nutrition for the prevention and reversal of degenerative dental disease

Elimination of toxins from dental materials or infection

Prevention and treatment of dental malocclusion (bite problem)

Elimination of energetic disturbances

Our approach to amalgam filling removal:

1.	We employ a specially designed “at the source” filtration system to remove amalgam particles and mercury vapor away during filling removal.

2.	We utilized a special high speed evacuation tip “clean-up”, designed to minimize patient and dental staff exposure to mercury vapor and particles during removal.

3.	A negative ion filter and a heap filter are used, to neutralize and collect any residual mercury vapor or dust particles that may be present in the office.

4.	No amalgam filling material is utilized in the office.

What is Periodontal Disease?

One-third of the American population is affected by periodontal disease, a chronic bacterial infection of the gums and bone that surrounds the teeth. Periodontal disease occurs when bacteria buildup on your teeth and gums, causes your gums to become red and swollen.

Left untreated, this inflammation eventually results in damage to the ligaments and bone that hold your teeth in place. This damage causes pockets to form around your teeth. As the disease progresses and the pockets deepen, your teeth can become loose and fall out. Periodontal disease may also exacerbate other serious health problems, such as cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and diabetes.

Arestin Can Help

Fortunately, we now have a new, effective treatment that helps us control periodontal disease and its destructive effects. It’s called Arestin, and it’s used in conjunction with scaling and root planing (deep cleaning) to reduce the number of harmful bacteria in your periodontal pockets and restore the area to good health.

Arestin is an antibiotic in powder form. We painlessly insert the powder into your periodontal pockets, where it combines with moisture in your mouth and adheres immediately to the infected gum tissue. The individual powder particles, called microspheres, release a controlled, steady flow of the active ingredient minocycline, a potent antibiotic. This sustained-release process allows Arestin to fight your periodontal infection for at least 21 days.

When used together with scaling and root planing (deep cleaning), Arestin significantly reduces the depth of the infected pockets and helps to prevent the progression of periodontal disease. Arestin has also been shown to be effective even in the most difficult-to-treat cases of periodontal disease, such as those experienced by smokers or patients with cardiovascular disease. However, Arestin’s active ingredient is in the tetracycline family of antibiotics, so we won’t use it to treat your infection if you are allergic to tetracycline, or if you’re pregnant or nursing.

Periodontal disease is chronic, which means it can persist for a long time and may never be cured. It’s vital that we treat it aggressively to keep it under control. Arestin is an important part of your overall periodontal therapy program, which we have designed to prevent further destruction of bone and connective tissue, and to restore health to your gums.

If you have a history of periodontal disease we must monitor the health of the gums closely so that we can prevent a recurrence of this destructive infection.

Periodontal disease can never be cured; it can only be controlled. And if it isn’t carefully monitored and controlled, periodontal disease can eventually cause you to lose your teeth.

Treatment for Periodontal Disease

If we’ve diagnosed periodontal disease, we’ll usually recommend a form of periodontal therapy called scaling and root planing(deep cleaning) to remove the infection from beneath your gums. Following this treatment, we’ll have you come to see us every few months for ongoing care, which may include X-rays, re-evaluation of your periodontal health and the effectiveness of your home-care, removal of plaque above and below the gum line, and re-treatment with scaling and root planing if necessary. The frequent checkups are vital for controlling your periodontal disease.

Why Re-care is Important

Periodontal disease is site-specific. This means that you may experience a flare-up of the infection in just one periodontal pocket out of the possible total 192 that exist in your mouth. Bone and tissue loss may occur in only this isolated area, or it may be more widespread. If we aren’t checking regularly for this type of damage to your gums and bone, you might not notice that it’s occurring, and the destruction would continue unchecked.

Some bacteria do remain after treatment, and they may settle back into the pocket and once again begin the process of reproducing and destroying bone and soft tissue. In as few as 90 days, the bacteria can reach destructive levels once again. Because of episodic nature of periodontal disease, and in light of the fact that periodontal disease can re-establish itself in as few as 90 days, the typical 6-month re-care appointment just isn’t enough for those with a history of periodontal disease. Statistics confirm that re-evaluation at intervals of at least every 3 or 4 months is critical for periodontal patients. This helps us break the stronghold of bacteria in your gums, minimize the recurrence of the infection, and slow or eliminate its destructive effects.

The first step is to find an office that offers free consultations. When you come to Absolute Smile for a free consultation, the dentist will examine your teeth.

Once you had a comprehensive exam the dentist will give you a couple of options, starting from the best option to the the option that would relieve you from agony and pain. Dental work can be very expensive and that is why it is very helpful to find a dental practice like Absolute Smile, that is not only willing to help their patients, but also eliminate agony. Absolute Smile is always willing to financially help their patients afford the treatment that they deserve.

The questions that you should ask yourself when trying to find a dental office who will work with you to get the dental work that you deserve, are:

Does this dental office offer an in house dental plan?

An in house dental plan is a discounted price on dental work that also includes preventative services free of charge.

Does the dental practice participate and offer its patients 12 -24 month 0% interest financing?

If a dental practice can help you sign up for a plan that will allow you to break up your payments in a 2 year span for 0% interest, you can achieve the smile you always wanted and you wont have to pay a huge amount of money in a short period of time.

Does the dental practice have payment plans?

There are also dental offices that will allow you to “pay as you go”. For example if you need to have dental implants, first the dentist places the implants and you pay for that procedure. After dental implants are placed it takes about 3-6 months for dental implants to integrate to the bone before you can restore your mouth with crowns, bridges, or fixed dentures. Once the integration process has occurred and you are ready for restoring your implants, this is when you pay for that portion of the work which was completed. Financially this allows you to complete your treatment without having to worry about where you can come up with all the money up front.

With the economic down fall that we are experiencing more and more people are beginning to live on a fixed income, therefore it is easier for patients to break up the payments and plan ahead. These are all factors that you should research when choosing the right dental office. It is important for you to feel that the dental office is not just out there to take your money, but also wants you to have a beautiful smile that you can afford. You can find all these options at Absolute Smile.
