How to Get to Coral Garden Beach (Tali)

Nearest Airport: Ninoy Aquino International Airport, also known as Manila International Airport (Manila)

By Land

Visitors must present a vehicle pass (or a copy of Authorized Pass) at the gate to enter Tali Beach Subdivision. For this reason, traveling by private vehicle is highly recommended when traveling to Coral Garden Beach Beach. Travel time from Manila is two to three hours.

You can easily turn on your Waze or Google Maps to help you navigate. Below is a quick overview of the two common routes:

Via SLEX

1. Take SLEX, then exit via Mamplasan.
2. After exiting, you’ll immediately see the entrance to CALAX. Continue driving along CALAX, then take the Tagaytay Exit.
3. Turn onto the road going to Nasugbu, Batangas, and keep driving until you reach Palico Junction.
4. At Palico junction, take a right turn and continue along the highway until you reach the rotonda/roundabout.
5. Turn right onto JP Laurel Street leading to Nasugbu town proper.
6. Continue driving along JP Laurel Street and Ternate-Nasugbu Road, then turn right toward Tali Beach Subdivision.
7. You’ll eventually reach a fork where the entrance gate of Tali Beach Subdivision is located.

Via CAVITEX

1. Take CAVITEX, then exit at Kawit.
2. Continue driving along Antero Soriano Highway and Governor’s Drive, passing through Tanza, Naic, Maragondon, and Ternate.

Churches and shrines are common in many destinations around the country. This time, we’re bringing you to Montemaria Shrine in Batangas City! While this facility is still developing, its most outstanding feature is the massive Statue of Mary, Mother of All Asia, said to be the world’s tallest statue of the Virgin Mary. Read on for a quick guide on Montemaria to prep for your upcoming trip!

How to Get to Montemaria Shrine

Located in Barangay Pagkilatan in Batangas City, Monte Maria Shrine is a three- to four-hour drive from Manila. If you are marking Batangas City center as your starting point, it’s actually a 40-minute drive away. Here’s how to get there from Manila by private car and by public transportation.

By Private Car

If you’re traveling by car from Metro Manila, we suggest using a trusted navigation app, like Google Maps or Waze, to make it easier for you. But for reference, here’s a route you can take to get there.

1. Take the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) until you reach the Calabarzon Expressway or Star Tollway.
2. Continue driving along Star Tollway and take Batangas (Balagtas) Exit.
3. Make a slight left onto Balagtas Flyover and continue driving along President Jose P. Laurel Highway.
4. Turn left onto Ebora Road, then turn right onto Gamboa Road.
5. Make your way to Batangas-Tabangao-Lobo Road. Continue driving and follow the signs to Montemaria Shrine.

By Public Transportation

If you’re planning to commute, here’s the route you can take:

1. From Manila, board a bus to Batangas Grand Terminal. DLTB Co. and JAM Liner have these routes, so just go to the closest bus terminal to you. The fare is P25-300. You can also check out our Manila to Batangas Bus Guide for other options.
2. At the Grand Terminal, ride a jeepney to SM Batangas. If you can’t find a jeepney plying a direct route from the terminal to SM Batangas, you can take one bound for downtown first (P14). Then, ride another jeepney to Ilijan (P14).
3. Find the jeepney terminal at SM Batangas, then take a jeepney bound for Ilijan. Ask the driver to drop you off at Montemaria in Barangay Pagkilatan. The fare is around P60.

Things to Do at Montemaria Shrine Complex

As we mentioned, Montemaria is still an ongoing project. According to their website, a hotel, resort, waterpark, and other recreational facilities are in the works. In the meantime, here are the things to do and attractions within the complex.

Mother of All Asia – Tower of Peace & View Deck

Officially named Mother of All Asia – Tower of Peace, this statue of Mary is the most iconic feature of the Montemaria Shrine. Measuring around 98 meters high, it is so huge that you can see it even when you’re in the middle of the ocean. This was how we first saw this gigantic Marian statue. Prior to visiting Monte Maria, we went to Verde Island, and from the boat, we got a glimpse of the statue standing tall on top of a mountain.

But this isn’t just a statue. It was also built as a residential building with a total of 21 stories. There’s also a viewing deck on the 17th floor, right by the hand of Mary, which guests can access by paying a fee to enter. Frankly, this is what most tourists make the trip to Barangay Pagkilatan for.

TIP! If you’re planning to visit Montemaria by driving a private vehicle, we must warn you, the walk from the parking area to the entrance of the viewing deck is long and uphill. It was around noon when we went here, so just imagine how hot it was! With the intense heat we’re experiencing nowadays, it’s important to protect yourself from the harmful UV rays, so always wear sunscreen, use an umbrella or a hat, and stay hydrated!

If you want to go to the viewing deck, you’ll pay for the entrance fee at the ticket booth. Then, you’ll be given a ticket that you have to present to the staff at the elevator. After verification, take the elevator up and get off at the 17th floor. And when you reach the view deck, you’ll get a panoramic view of Batangas Bay, featuring Tingloy, Verde Island, and even parts of Oriental Mindoro. Aside from enjoying the view, people also take photos with the bust of the Marian statue behind them.

By the way, if you’re hungry or thirsty, you can grab a quick drink or snack at this store right by the ticket booth before or after you go up to the viewing deck.

Montemaria Viewdeck Entrance Fee: P150/head

Mirror Deck

Another attraction within the premises of Montemaria is the Mirror Deck, which is on the rooftop of a café. Unfortunately, the café wasn’t open when we visited, and we don’t know for sure if it’s already operating. But the mirror deck is open to tourists for an entrance fee of P80. You’ll pay the entrance fee at the table right by the door of the building. Then, climb up the stairs to get to the deck.

The whole floor is covered with mirrors, so you can take cool photos. But before heading out to the deck, grab foot covers and wear them on top of your footwear first. Hannah and I tried to remake the shots displayed by the entrance, but it was a bit of a challenge because the glass floor was HOT. But we still tried our best to get a few photos for the ‘gram!

Mirror Deck Entrance Fee: P80/head

Miracle Walk (Glass Bridge)

The Miracle Walk is the newest attraction in Montemaria — another view deck with a glass bridge. And while it’s already operational, it is exclusive to members only during our last visit, so we weren’t able to experience this attraction. But as of January 2026, it is now open to the general public, with an entrance fee of P300. This is also the location of Rainbow Glass Ladder, which can be accessed for P100.

Other Attractions

Below are other highlights within Montemaria Shrine complex. We haven’t tried them yet because they were not available on our last visit, but we’re including these attractions here for your reference:

Chapels

You’ll find two chapels within the estate: the Santo Niño Chapel and St. John Paul II Chapel. Hannah and I weren’t able to see the chapel during our visit, but here are some photos our teammate Py took from a previous visit to Montemaria.

They hold mass here on weekends and public holidays. If you’re planning to visit during holy week, you can check their schedule of activities here. In the future, you can also check out their website for updated mass schedules and activities.

Side Trips from Montemaria Shrine

Now, if you’re visiting Batangas City as a tourist, it’s likely that Montemaria Shrine isn’t the only thing on your itinerary. Here are a few side trips you can take around Montemaria to add even more value to your weekend getaway.

Batangas – Tabangao – Lobo Road Baywalk

Okay, here’s a disclaimer! This isn’t the official name of this side trip, since it doesn’t really have an official name, but it’s how we’ve made sense of this stop.

On the way to Monte Maria from Batangas City, you’ll find this baywalk-like area along the Batangas – Tabangao – Lobo Road. While it may not give you a front view of the shrine, it is quite a sight to see this massive statue of Mama Mary standing atop the mountain and standing so close to the ocean. It also makes for a beautiful background for your own photos.

If you’d like to make a stop here, you’ll find the Google Maps pin of an area that’s close to the supposed baywalk: JL PRINTING / LOADING STATION. At this point, you are just 15 minutes away from the actual Montemaria Shrine.

Batangas City

When you visit Montemaria, you can spend the rest of your day exploring Batangas City. If you love coffee, you can go café hopping! There are a lot of homegrown coffee shops around the city that are worth trying.

Since Hannah and I both love coffee and Batangas is, after all, known for its kapeng barako, we made it a point to try out a few coffee shops within the city. One of our favorites is Kalye Barako. We loved their coffee, and their location was a bonus! We’ll tell you more about this and the other coffee shops we visited in a separate article, so watch out for that.

You can also make a stop at a beach like Faelan Beach, which we discovered on our way to Montemaria. They have tables and cottages for day tour guests, and there are also rooms if you want to stay overnight.

Verde Island

Verde Island is located in the Verde Island Passage, which is considered the “center of the center” of the world’s marine biodiversity by a Smithsonian study. During our trip, we went to Verde Island for an overnight stay. It is just a boat ride away from the city. We will make a separate guide for Verde Island, too, so stay tuned!

Lobo

Lobo is another destination you can explore from Batangas City since it is a neighboring town. Among the attractions here are its pebble beaches and Malabrigo Point Lighthouse.

San Juan

You can also make your way to San Juan to check out their beaches. You can find multiple resorts in Laiya if you plan on staying the night or a weekend at the beach.

Frequently Asked Questions About Montemaria Shrine

Is there an entrance fee?

If we’re talking about the whole Montemaria International Pilgrimage & Conference Center, there isn’t really an entrance fee per se. You can visit the facility for free, provided that you walk in on foot and admire the statue of Mama Mary from the ground.

Considering how the Montemaria area is quite out of the way, I think very few people would visit the shrine without bringing a vehicle of some sort, which does entail parking fees. Similarly, since the statue of Mama Mary is the highlight of this facility and there’s just something so intriguing about being face-to-face with a larger-than-life image of her, you will most likely be paying the P150 entrance fee to the view deck.

Just keep that in mind when preparing your budget for your visit.

Is there a designated parking area?

Yes! They have a huge parking area, so parking space won’t be a problem if you travel by private car. But note that the parking area is a bit far from the entrance to the view deck, so if you’re traveling with seniors or someone with mobility issues, make sure to drop them off at the view deck entrance first before parking your vehicle.

• Protect yourself from the scorching heat, especially during summer. With the extreme heat index recorded in recent years, using a sunscreen is not enough. Bring extra protection — sunglasses to protect your eyes and a hat for more shield against the sun.
• Bring a reusable water container. You can practice sustainable tourism not buying single-use plastic items like bottled water. Bring your trusted water tumbler. This helps you save a bit of money too!
• Apply the “Leave No Trace” principle. Take nothing but photos, kill nothing but time, leave nothing but footprints.

Crystal Beach Resort may not be new to campers, but for Hannah and me, who haven’t really pitched tents, this beach resort was a great experience on our first foray into camping. Okay, we didn’t really do camping in every sense of the word. We tried glamping at the resort, and we loved our whole experience. So if you’re also looking for a beach resort near Manila or you’re looking for a camping trip, Crystal Beach Resort might be the destination for you, too.

In this post, we’ll share with you all the important details you need to know to plan your trip here. We included the rates, things to do, and some tips to make your planning easier.

How to Get to Crystal Beach Resort

Going from Manila to Crystal Beach Resort takes around four to five hours by land travel. It is easily accessible whether you’re traveling by private transportation or commuting. If you’re driving, it could take a bit less, especially if you leave early to avoid the heavy traffic.

Private Car

Nowadays, it’s a lot easier to navigate as long as you have a smartphone and a data connection. You can either use Waze or Google Maps to find your way. Just type in Crystal Beach Resort as your destination, and you’re good to go.

1. Enter North Luzon Expressway (NLEX). Then, take the exit going to Olongapo City.
2. Turn right to Rizal Highway. Drive until you reach Burgos Street.
3. Make a left turn to Burgos Street and then turn right to Canal Road. Drive along Olongapo – Bugallon Road.
4. Continue driving. You’ll pass by Subic Town, Castillejos, and San Marcelino.
5. Once you reach San Narciso, turn left after the Municipal Hall. Follow the road sign going to Crystal Beach Resort.

Travel Time: 4-5 Hours
Parking Fee: FREE. If you are planning to go car camping (4×4 vehicle), camping fee applies.

Public Transportation

If your only option is to take public transportation, don’t worry because it’s still very accessible by bus. Victory Liner plies from Manila to Zambales regularly. Here’s how you can commute from Manila to Crystal Beach Resort by bus.

1. Board a bus bound for Iba or Santa Cruz and get off at San Narciso Town Proper. Here are the usual bus terminal locations: Pasay, Cubao, Sampaloc, and Caloocan. Victory Liner and Cisco Bus Co. have routes from Manila to Zambales. You can board a Victory Liner bus to Zambales at their terminals in Caloocan, Cubao, Sampaloc, and Pasay. Meanwhile, you can go to Five Star Bus terminal in Cubao and Pasay to take a Cisco bus. Fare depends on which terminal you’re coming from.

2. Ride a tricycle to Crystal Beach Resort. Once you get off the bus, you’ll see a tricycle terminal. Just tell the driver to take you to Crystal Beach Resort. The ride takes about five minutes.

Day Tour Rates

If you only have limited time, Crystal Beach Resort offers day tours. For P985 per person, you can have access to the resort from 6AM to 6PM. This also includes a P250 consumable voucher that you can use for food and drinks at their restaurant.

Beach Camping Rates

If you’re on a budget or you just want to go camping, that’s also an option here. Whether you’re bringing your own tent (or camping car) or you’re thinking of renting one, Crystal Beach Resort has a Kampsite for you!

There are two camping packages here for guests bringing their own tent: Ultimate Camping and Pleasant Camping. Ultimate Camping costs P1,050 per person and covers the entrance fee, a camping spot, and pool access. If you want to add breakfast for your stay, avail of the Pleasant Camping package.

NOTE: Again, these rates are for those who are bringing their own tents. If you want to rent one, you’ll have to pay an additional cost for a tent for two with a set of bedding. However, we highly recommend buying your own tent if you can because it would be cheaper in the long run especially if you think you’d go on more camping trips in the future.

They also have a glamping option, which was what we availed of during our trip. It has a bigger tent that accommodates two people. It has a double-sized mattress and beddings plus an electric fan, light/lamp, and electrical sockets where you can charge your gadgets. There’s also a cooler you can use during your stay. The glamping package also includes toiletries and a complimentary breakfast.

Things to Do at Crystal Beach Resort

Swimming

Of course, what else would be on top of the list of our things to do when on a beach destination? Swimming or chilling at the beach! Similar to many beach destinations in Zambales, Crystal Beach does not have fine white sand. Instead, it has a fine grayish-black sand that glistens under the sun. The water here is shallow, but quickly gets deeper. The waves can be strong too, so if you’re a non-swimmer, it’s best to stay close to the shore.

Water Sports & Beach Activities

If you’re not into surfing but you still want to do some water activities, you can check out other water activities here. You can either rent a kayak or a stand-up paddle. These are a bit more chill but still fun activities you can enjoy. You can also use their Aqua Lily floaters and Frisbee for free!

Surfing

Speaking of waves, Zambales may not be as popular as a surfing destination as other places like La Union, Baler, and Siargao, but the swells here are great too. Here in Crystal Beach, you will find Quicksilver Surf Camp. They offer surfing lessons for beginners, but you could also rent a surfboard if you’re an experienced surfer. Surfing lesson rate is P600 per person for an hour.

Other Sports

If you’re into sports, you can also play volleyball, basketball, table tennis, or billiards at the resort. This is perfect if you’re on a trip with a group of friends who have the same love for sports. You can play volleyball, basketball, table tennis, or billiards for P100 per hour.

Coffee by the Beach

Inside the resort, you will find a coffee shop right by the beach called Waves Coffee. They offer various coffee and non-coffee drinks that you can enjoy while sitting by the beach and watching the waves. For more refreshing drinks, they also serve slush and flavored soda. Their drinks range from P135 to P200.

Acoustic Night

On weekends, Crystal Beach Resort has acoustic nights. If you’re going camping or staying overnight, this is a free activity you can enjoy at night. Sit under the stars with your friends, family, or loved ones as you get serenaded by talented local musicians.

Take Photos

We know taking photos is like second nature to most of us now, and we don’t need to tell you this. But we enjoyed taking photos around the resort so much that we feel like this deserves a spot in this list of things to do here. The image of the beach and its blue waters with the backdrop of the mountains of Zambales is stunning. In addition, the rows of Agoho trees by the resort’s campgrounds give it a very unique vibe. So make sure your phone or camera has lots of space to store photos (and videos)!

Massage

Many of us travel to relax, and if you want to achieve peak relaxation while you’re in Crystal Beach, you can avail of their massage services. This can be a great way to end your day after spending time swimming or doing water activities. Their body massage costs P600 per hour.

Sunset Watching

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to catch the sunset here since we arrived around 7:00 PM after an island-hopping trip in San Antonio. Although we missed it at Crystal Beach, we were able to catch it at Pundaquit Beach in San Antonio. And it was gorgeous, so we know for sure that Zambales sunsets will have you in awe. So when you visit Crystal Beach Resort, don’t miss seeing the colorful hues in the sky during sundown.

Booking a stay at Crystal Beach Resort is simple. You can find deals and discounted rates on booking websites like Agoda! A couple of years ago, the resort was still actively listed on Agoda. Upon checking now, the account is still there, but the rooms are consistently marked as sold out. We’re leaving the link here anyway, just in case.

Frequently Asked Questions About Crystal Beach

Where to eat?

Crystal Beach Resort has an in-house restaurant where you can dine during your stay. Their menu includes various Filipino dishes and desserts. They also serve pasta, burgers, and sandwiches if you’re looking for a light meal or snacks. For drinks, they offer coffee, fruit shakes, and cocktails. Another option for drinks is Waves Coffee, which is the coffee shop right by the beach.

Can I bring outside food?

Yes; however, the resort charges corkage fees. This policy applies to both outside catered food and non-alcoholic drinks. Meanwhile, alcoholic drinks are not allowed. But of course, if you’re going camping, you can bring chips and raw food, provided that you have your own gas or butane stove, or rent a griller at the resort. You must also bring your own cookware, tools, and dining ware.

Are there showers and toilets for campers?

Of course! The resort has a separate area for toilets and another area for showers. You will find these right next to the restaurant.

Do day tour guests have access to showers too?

YES! Day tour guests also have access to the shower and toilet areas which also serve as the changing room.

Are pets allowed?

YES! Crystal Beach Resort is a pet-friendly accommodation. However, keep in mind that they remind guests who are bringing their fur babies to bring their own linens if the pets sleep on the bed or bring a pet bed if they sleep on the floor. A few other reminders include ensuring your pets are vaccinated and that they will not be aggressive towards other pets and guests. And lastly, make sure to clean up after your pet!

Tips and Reminders

• Leave Manila early. Although Zambales is close to Manila, it still takes four to five hours to get there. We highly recommend leaving Manila early to avoid heavy traffic. It is also advisable to do this if you’re commuting because travel time is usually a bit longer when you’re taking public transportation compared to driving your own vehicle.
• Wear your footwear when walking on the beach. The sand on the beach is fine, but it gets really hot during daytime that it hurts to walk on it barefoot. So, remember to keep your flip-flops or aqua shoes on when walking on the beach.
• Use sun protection. It’s always a must to keep your skin protected from the harmful rays of the sun, so make sure to use sunscreen. We highly recommend getting one that is reef-friendly. Go for a brand that doesn’t contain chemicals like oxybenzone, benzophenone, and parabens.
• Stay hydrated. Stay hydrated during your trip, especially on hot summer days. Bring your trusted water bottle to avoid getting bottled water. This doesn’t just help reduce waste but also saves you a bit of money.
• Remember to leave no trace. As the saying goes, take nothing but photos, kill nothing but time, leave nothing but footprints.

Visitors need to present a vehicle pass (or a copy of Authorized Pass) at the gate to enter Tali Beach Subdivision, so getting here by private vehicle is recommended. The journey from Manila to Palm Beach takes around three hours.

Via SLEX

1. Take SLEX, then exit via Mamplasan.
2. After exiting, you’ll immediately see the entrance to CALAX. Continue driving along CALAX, then take the Tagaytay Exit.
3. Turn onto the road going to Nasugbu, Batangas, and keep driving until you reach Palico Junction.
4. At Palico junction, take a right turn and continue along the highway until you reach the rotonda/roundabout.
5. Turn right onto JP Laurel Street leading to Nasugbu town proper.
6. Continue driving along JP Laurel Street and Ternate-Nasugbu Road, then turn right toward Tali Beach Subdivision.
7. You’ll eventually reach a fork where the entrance gate of Tali Beach Subdivision is located.

Compared to more commercialized beach destinations in the province, Sunset Beach, along with other beaches within the exclusive seaside community, exudes a more laid-back atmosphere. Non-members can still access the beach by booking accommodations offered by registered members or residents. Since the area is privately managed, guests must follow the rules and regulations set by the management (Tali Beach Homeowners Group).

How to Get to Sunset Beach (Tali)

Come summer, vacationers flock to Laiya to get their fix of Vitamin Sea. Now, here’s the thing: the name “Laiya” doesn’t only refer to one particular location but three neighboring barangays. These are Laiya Ibabao, Laiya Aplaya, and Hugom.

When people mention “Laiya Beach”, they are usually referring to the popular public beach in the area, which is actually located in Barangay Hugom. This article specifically focuses on this public beach — Hugom Beach, commonly known as Laiya Beach.

How to Get to Laiya Beach (Hugom Beach)

Nearest Airport: Ninoy Aquino International Airport, also known as Manila International Airport (Manila)

By Land

1. From Manila, get on a bus bound for San Juan, Batangas (P300-350). The stations for those plying the Manila-San Juan route are located in major parts of Metro Manila, such as Cubao, Buendia, PITX, BGC, and Alabang. ALPS bus company offers Manila-San Juan route. The travel time is 3-4 hours, depending on the route and the traffic condition.
2. When you get to San Juan tow center, you can either take a jeepney or tricycle going to Laiya Beach or Hugom Beach. If you are willing to wait, you can take the jeep (P50-70). If you don’t want to wait, hire a tricycle going to Laiya, but you just need to spend more. A special trip can cost you P350.
3. Get off at the junction of Hugom’s barangay road and the main road (Lobo-Malabrigo-Laiya Road). Your landmark is The Henry Resort.
4. Head to your chosen or booked resort. If you haven’t booked yet, you have plenty of options along the strip leading to the beach. However, it’s best to secure a room, a cottage, or a lodging ahead of time, especially during summer or peak season.

If you are traveling using a private vehicle from Manila, you can take the SLEX. Continue driving onto STAR Tollway, then take either Lipa or Ibaan Exit. It’s best to turn on your Google Maps or Waze App to help you navigate easily. Leave early in the morning, especially if you are just going on a day tour.

The southern coast of San Juan, particularly Laiya Ibabo, Laiya Aplaya, and Hugom, offers accommodations ranging from budget-friendly to luxury, so you would have plenty of options. • Entrance Fee: It depends on where you choose to go and stay in the area. Since this is a public beach, most properties have no entrance fee.

Don’t Forget

• You’ll find plenty of restaurants in the area, but you can also bring your own food to cut down your expenses. However, there are “carinderias” or eateries offering Batangas delicacies like bulalo, lomi, and “goto“; don’t pass up the chance to try them.
• Bringing food or eating near the shore or water is not allowed. Please enjoy your meal in the comfort of your room or day tour cottage.
• Wear protective footwear or aqua shoes. The beach is covered with a mixture of coarse and fine sand, along with small pebbles.
• Bring sun protection. It can be a hat, a scarf, and/or a marine-friendly sunscreen (those without oxybenzone, parabens, and benzophenone).
• Stay near the shore if you can’t swim or if you are not a confident swimmer. You can also wear a life vest or bring a flotation device.
• Swimming is allowed from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM only. This ordinance was made for the safety of all visitors.
• The use of videoke and loud speakers is permitted from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM only. Please be considerate of other visitors.
• Be a responsible traveler/tourist. Keep in mind the “Leave No Trace” principle: leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but photos, and kill nothing but time.

• Batangas is also famous for its mountain peaks. If you are into hiking, Mount Daguldul and Mount Hugom are two coastal mountains in San Juan, Batangas. Some people hike first and then swim after.

Tali Beach is considered the main beach of the Tali Beach Subdivision, a private coastal community that harbors seven beaches. Despite its location within an exclusive residential area in Nasugbu, visitors can still experience this serene paradise by booking one of the several accommodations offered by the residents or registered members. How to Get to Tali Beach

Nearest Airport: Ninoy Aquino International Airport, also known as Manila International Airport (Manila)

By Land

Guests are required to present a vehicle pass (or a copy of Authorized Pass) at the gate to enter the subdivision, so traveling to Tali Beach by private vehicle is highly recommended. Travel time from Manila to Tali Beach is around three hours.

You can easily turn on your Waze or Google Maps to help you navigate. Here’s a quick overview of the two routes:

Via SLEX

1. Take SLEX, then exit via Mamplasan.
2. After exiting, you’ll immediately see the entrance to CALAX. Continue driving along CALAX, then take the Tagaytay Exit.
3. Turn onto the road going to Nasugbu, Batangas, and keep driving until you reach Palico Junction.
4. At Palico junction, take a right turn and continue along the highway until you reach the rotonda/roundabout.
5. Turn right onto JP Laurel Street leading to Nasugbu town proper.
6. Continue driving along JP Laurel Street and Ternate-Nasugbu Road, then turn right toward Tali Beach Subdivision.
7. You’ll eventually reach a fork where the entrance gate of Tali Beach Subdivision is located.

Via CAVITEX

1. Take CAVITEX, then exit at Kawit.
2. Continue driving along Antero Soriano Highway and Governor’s Drive, passing through Tanza, Naic, Maragondon, and Ternate.
3. Drive carefully along the winding road leading to Kaybiang Tunnel.
4. Keep driving along Ternate-Nasugbu Road, then turn left toward Tali Beach Subdivision.
5. You’ll eventually reach a fork where the entrance gate of Tali Beach Subdivision is located.

How to Get to Camaya Coast from Manila

Camaya Coast is located in Sitio Wain in Mariveles, Bataan. From Manila, the resort is around a four-hour drive away by car or bus, but the Camaya Ferry cuts travel to around two hours. Aside from getting to Camaya Coast via private vehicle or via ferry from Manila, you can also take a shuttle bus from the FAB Central Terminal in Mariveles, Bataan.

By Car

If you’re traveling by car from Metro Manila, it’s always best to use a trusted navigation app of your choice. Here are the three general routes to Camaya Coast:

• MacArthur Highway Route. First, you can skip tolls by taking the MacArthur Highway route. Just open and follow Google Maps or Waze app to the exact location of Camaya Coast.
• NLEX – Olongapo-Gapan Route. For this route, you can pass through NLEX and then take the San Fernando Exit. Afterwards, you’ll have to ply the Olongapo-Gapan Road (also known as the Jose Abad Santos Avenue) leading to the Roman Superhighway. Eventually, you will reach the Mariveles town proper through the Bagac-Mariveles Road. From there, follow your navigation app to the exact location of Camaya Coast.
• NLEX – SCTEX Route. For the third option, you can pass through NLEX but take the SCTEX exit towards Subic, Olongapo, and then take the Dinalupihan exit. This will also bring you to the Roman Super Highway and the Bagac-Mariveles road, similar to the second route.

By Ferry

If you’d like to skip the hassle of driving for close to four hours, you may opt to book a tour with roundtrip ferry rides instead. The Camaya Ferry picks up passengers from the Camaya Coast Manila Ferry Terminal near the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in the CCP Complex. This is great news for Manila-based beach bums who appreciate accessibility.

To get to the latest terminal near PICC you can pin “Camaya Coast Manila Ferry Terminal” in your navigation app of choice.

Here are two ways to commute to the said terminal:

Via EDSA Carousel

1. Ride the EDSA Carousel and alight at the Roxas Boulevard Station.
2. Find a jeepney and alight at Pablo Ocampo Street.
3. Walk to the terminal.

Via LRT-1 Vito Cruz

1. Ride the LRT 1 and alight at Vito Cruz station.
2. From there, find a bus or UV Express bound for PITX.
3. Get off at Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard.
4. Walk to the terminal.

From my visit last year, I was instructed to get to the terminal an hour and a half before departure. During my trip, check-in cut-off time was 30 minutes before departure and the boarding gate closed 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Please make sure to read the booking information sent to you!

UPDATE! Just a note that during my trip, I was instructed to get to Esplanade Seaside Terminal. The terminal was transferred to Camaya Coast Manila Ferry in November 2024.

Pre-boarding Procedures

As for the pre-boarding procedures, these were the procedures at the Esplanade Seaside Terminal on my last trip, so take this with a grain of salt! If you have new information, we’d love to hear them in the comments!

1. Luggage Check-in. Once you’re at the terminal, hotel guests must check in their luggage. For all other guests, proceed to bag inspection.
2. Bag inspection. You can proceed to the area with security guards for this.
3. QR Scanning. The staff will then scan the QR code from your booking confirmation and check your government-issued ID for verification. Booking confirmation can be digital or printed.
4. Boarding. Once your QR code and ID are checked, you can now board the ferry.

Where to Book a Camaya Coast Day Tour

If you’re going on a day tour, you can either book through Camaya Coast’s website or through Klook.

On Klook, there are three types of day tour packages you can book, which are based on how you plan on getting to the resort: own vehicle, bus, or ferry.

Things to Do at Camaya Coast

Swimming

In any resort or beach destination, the number one activity is, of course, going swimming. Here in Camaya Coast, you can either swim on the beach or the infinity pool.

To set your expectations, the beach here does not have white sand. But never mind that since the sand is so fine your toes will sink right in!

Funnily enough, I wasn’t able to go on a swim on the beach because there was a warning about jellyfish. But that’s another good reason to visit again, and I’m so up for it! If the coast is clear on the day of your visit, enjoy your time at the beach, but also keep in mind that swimming is only allowed until 6PM.

I did enjoy a dip in the infinity pool, which can be found on the left side of the resort if you’re coming from the beach. Climb up a flight of stairs and you’ll find the pool with lounge chairs around the area. The water was a bit warm for my taste, probably because it was a particularly hot day. But I enjoyed swimming here anyway since the pool wasn’t too crowded.

Inflatable Playground

Who says bouncy houses are just for kids? Even adults will enjoy this inflatable playground on the water!

You do have to book your 30-minute slot for the activity but they don’t charge extra for it. It was my first time trying an inflatable playground, and more than anything, I didn’t expect it to be so tiring, almost like a workout! I felt like the next American Ninja Warrior! Hahaha!

To book your slot, just go to the sports and recreation booth located near the area where lifeguards equip guests with life jackets. Just present your QR code or booking confirmation to the staff and they’ll ask you for your preferred time for the activity. After that, you’ll be given a stub that you’ll need to present to the lifeguards when it’s time for your turn.

Aqua Fun Water Park

I’m sure those who have been to Camaya Coast would agree when we say that this is the highlight of a trip to the resort. Aqua Fun Water Park has multiple waterslides and a swimming pool that both kids and adults would enjoy.

There are smaller slides for kids in the middle where the giant coconut that pours water is, and there are bigger and higher slides around it. If you’re with a group, you’ll surely enjoy the multi-lane racer slide. Here, five people can slide down simultaneously to race to the bottom.

But the most thrilling is probably the one which is also the highest slide in the water park. This water slide is conquered by pairs, and since I was alone, I almost walked away without trying it!

Thankfully, the lifeguard offered to go with me. Guys, if for any reason you go to Camaya Coast alone and you still want to enjoy every slide in the water park, don’t be shy to ask a lifeguard for assistance. They are very friendly!

Aqua Fun Water Park is located a bit far from the beach and the main area of the resort. But you don’t have to walk all the way to get there because there are shuttles that take guests to the water park and back. Just go to the shuttle terminal and wait for the coaster to arrive and hop in. This is free!

Upon arriving at the water park, just present your QR code or booking confirmation to the staff at the ticket booth. Keep in mind that you must be wearing proper swimming attire at the water park. Jewelry, sunglasses, gadgets, or any loose items are also prohibited on some of the slides.

Kayak

Day tour packages also entitle you to a kayaking session. Just make sure to book your schedule at the sports and recreation booth. Keep the stub with you because you have to present it to the lifeguards as proof that you’ve agreed to do this 30-minute arm workout! Hehe

If you have companions, two people can share a kayak. If you’re going solo like me, you can do it alone or ask for assistance from the friendly lifeguards on duty.

Other Activities

Guests can also enjoy bicycles, volleyball, frisbee, and badminton. Similar to the inflatable playfround and kayak, these activities are on a first-come, first-served basis so make sure to register for your desired activities.

It’s best to head to the Sports & Recreation booth first thing during your trip and book the things you want to do, especially if you’re visiting on a weekend.

Weekend Entertainment

On Saturdays & Sundays, Camaya Coast offers weekend entertainment. They have a band that serenades guests near the beach. They also host games with prizes!

At around 7PM, they have fire dancers by the beach too! It’s a joy to watch, but remember to keep your distance. After that, they end the night with a fireworks show.

Frequently Asked Questions About Camaya Coast

Where can we eat?

There are various restaurants inside Camaya Coast so you won’t go hungry here. Among the food outlets are Pancake House, Teriyaki Boy, Dencio’s, Tapa King, Figaro, and Yellow Cab. There’s also Nacho King, Potato Corner, Big Chill, and Snack Bar if you’re looking for something to munch on. To set your expectations, prices here are slightly more expensive than their non-resort branches.

Can I bring outside food?

Unfortunately, you cannot bring outside food. However, they do allow light snacks and drinks. Speaking of drinks, make sure to bring a reusable water bottle too because there are water fountains around the resort where you can refill your tumblers. This will keep you hydrated without having to spend more on bottled water or drinks.

Are there toilets and showers for day tour guests?

Yes! There’s a toilet area near the banquet hall. Meanwhile, you will find more toilet and shower rooms by the locker area. Just ask any staff member for directions and they would gladly help you.

Is the day tour worth it?

For me, it’s a big yes! We booked the Day Tour via Ferry package for P999, which is the regular rate, but with all the included amenities and activities, as well as the transfers from Manila to Bataan, it’s worth every penny. So if you come across a promo and you can book it at a discounted price, just book it already!

This is also an extra reminder to double check prices at the time of your booking, since they may change without prior notice.

Tips and Reminders

• Head to the Sports & Recreation booth first thing during your trip. This will give you a higher chance to book the activities you want, especially if you’re visiting on a weekend.
• Use coral-friendly sunscreen. Always remember to keep your skin protected from the harmful rays of the sun. However, it is also important to keep the environment in mind, so get products that don’t have chemicals like oxybenzone, benzophenone, and parabens that are harmful to corals so you can help protect the environment too.
• Bring sunglasses and a hat. With the extreme heat we’re experiencing recently, using a sunscreen is not enough. Bring sunglasses to protect your eyes and a hat for more shield against the sun.
• Bring a reusable water container. One of the ways to practice sustainable tourism is to avoid using single-use plastic. Bring your trusted water tumbler to avoid buying bottled water. This helps you save a bit of money too!
• Remember the “Leave No Trace” principle. Take nothing but photos, kill nothing but time, leave nothing but footprints.
