The "I'm with Phil" website, used in 2011 to serve the "I'm with Phil" campaign, is going to be repurposed in 2012 to promote the "I'm with Phil" documentary, as directed by Phil Campbell, Alabama resident Andrew Reed!<p /> With the help of this documentary, 2012 is going to be an even bigger year for "I'm with Phil." We're going to spread our story of helping the town of Phil Campbell, Alabama even more, and we plan on making the documentary a vehicle for more fundraising for the town. Better fundraising. Bigger fundraising.<p /> So we may be silent for a while, but please check in periodically. I went through my emails as carefully as I could, but please keep in mind the system for ordering shirts was not a perfect one, as neither of our fundraising sites were engineered for such a specific purpose. And some of you asked me for shirts via my own Facebook page, and some of you emailed my gmail account, and some of you emailed my AOL account. So the orders were all over the place. BUT, again, I think I've tracked down every order, and have filled every one. <p /> So -- long story short -- if you asked for a shirt in the last two months, and you haven't gotten it by July 25th, please send me an email. compassion.</p> <p>i'm sure many of the phils would agree with me that the outpouring of compassion and love that we felt at the hoedown (in fact it has not really stopped since) was amazing.  i was concerned that from coming from different parts of the world that we might have awkward feelings between us all with us just turning up like we did but that was soon quelled when people came over to say hello and loved that we were there and understood that we wanted to help. </p> <p>cleaning down the pool area was something that felt good, to be part of a group of similar names phils who all turned around when someone said 'phil' was fantastic and i felt (probably like others) that given more time we could have tidied up a number of areas around the town.  it never really felt like a convention of phils - it just felt like the right thing to do, in the right place at the right time, my only wish is that i had more time to give you guys in your town to assist, help and comfort.  i know you have a long way to go but i'm hoping we have been a much needed pick me up and that our relief efforts will go on and on and our connection with you and the town burns bright over the years to come.</p> <p>i have never felt more welcome anywhere than in the town of phil campbell - thank you for all the residents, hugs and smiles that you all gave that filled our hearts.  always in our morning.</p> <p>just wanted to thank the park and recreations team headed by rita barton for pulling together the most military timed and precise operation i had seen.  i was thinking that by having no time gaps between the events that things would not work at all but it worked perfectly, in fact i had to run up to the stage to be on time for the 6pm medal part!</p> <p>seriously, a really big hat tip to rita barton and for all the work she had done for the town and the event, everyone pulled together and did an amazing job and without the back room teams pulling together things would not have flowed as easily as they did.</p> <p>congrats on a successful 'imwithphil' phil campbell hoedown and i do hope that you maintain the parade year after year - i for one intend to revisit the town in <p>i'm not sure what the other phil campbells felt but i had no idea how the parade would play out but it was awesome.  a few trucks full of phil campbells and a bunch of other people in cars in the parade from different classes from high school, a marching band and the local school in attendance spinning things and just generally lifting the spirits of the town.</p> <p><iframe However, we cannot stress how moving this experience has been for all of us. Nottingham Philip Campbell gathered some of us around a table at the Best Western Hotel on Saturday night and had us all relate our thoughts and emotions, and it was astonishing how everyone attested to the sincere profundity of the weekend. "I'm with Phil" became more than a catchphrase for us.<p /> I'll post more thoughts later, but I did want to say that we've raised at least enough money for one Habitat for Humanity home for a displaced Alabama family. having to survey the destruction on a daily basis must be painful so any glimmer of fun and uplift we can bring via the donations, helping out on the ground and the parade was, at least for me required.</p> <p>i'm glad i met so many new phils and friends in phil campbell, alabama -
