Christmastime is here! And the San Lorenzo Ruiz Choir of New York would like to celebrate it with you through its debut album, "Bituing Natatangi."

This album wishes to spread Christ's message of love and inspire Filipinos wherever they may be spending Christmas. This is an all-OPM CD featuring works by Felipe de Leon, Levi Celerio, Lucio San Pedrio, Arnel De Pano, Arnel Aquino, S.J., and Ryan Cayabyab.

30% of net proceeds will benefit the Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program of Caritas Manila (scholarship program with leadership and moral formation). A portion of the proceeds will support the operations of The San Lorenzo Choir of New York and JCI Philippine-New York.

For the past several years JCI Philippine-New York strives to show our support and make a difference by walking as a team in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event in Central Park, NYC.
Our chapter's primary purpose in participating in the walk is two-fold:

(1) To raise funds for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer; and
(2) To inspire members and non-members by encouraging them to participate in the event to support people who have Breast Cancer and those who are survivors.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is more than just the name of a walk; it describes the progress we're making together in the fight against breast cancer. Nothing can describe the hope that is inspired by walking with others who share a passion for ending this disease. Because nearly everyone has been touched by breast cancer in some way, hope for a world with less breast cancer and more birthdays starts with us.

Please join us in JCI Philippine-New York's first big fundraiser of 2011. On Saturday, May 21, we'll be going to Mohegan Sun Casino. We are leaving from Flushing, Queens at PROMPTLY 9:45am returning by 7:30pm.

About 100 superheroes and super-villains gathered at the Philippine-New York Jaycees' annual Halloween party on October 30.

This year's event, "Rated X (Superheroes vs. Super-villains Halloween Party)," was held at the penthouse of the Roger Smith Hotel in midtown Manhattan.

This exciting project was planned by a great team composed of Bel Molina, Carlo Zenarosa, Grace Guerrero and Zultan Bermudez with the aim of raising funds for community development projects of the Jaycees while providing networking opportunities for young Filipino professionals in a fun and entertaining event.

The event proved to be an enormous success, generating gross revenue of more than $3,000.

DJ Ming Ampil worked up the crowd with awesome dance music. Hosts Carlo Zenarosa and Grace Guerrero challenged the attendees with a series of trivia games on comic characters.

To further boost the funds raised, a group of gorgeous bachelors and bachelorettes were auctioned off and a mobile studio was set-up by the Jolly Snapper Studio through which attendees had a blast posing like their characters. Happy Halloween!

Two weeks ago on Sunday, 10.17.10, our chapter walked amongst thousands of other participants, in the annual American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Central Park, NYC.

Our chapter's primary purpose in participating in the walk is two-fold:

To raise funds for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer; and

To inspire members and non-members by encouraging them to participate in the event to support people who have Breast Cancer and those who are survivors.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is more than just the name of a walk; it describes the progress we're making together in the fight against breast cancer. Nothing can describe the hope that is inspired by walking with others who share a passion for ending this disease. Saving lives from breast cancer starts one team, one walker, and one dollar at a time.

This year we exceeded our goal of $250 and raised $535! THANK YOU TO ALL PARTICIPANTS AND DONORS!

And thank you to Project Chair, Yssa Barretto, for your planning and organizing us that day.
