Spring is the season for growth. It is the time when winter’s inward energy begins to move upward and out, like a small plant pushing through the soil. Life blossoms around us in shades of green. It is the return of new life to the world after the cold bleakness of winter.

In our bodies, spring relates to the wood element and the Liver system. The Liver in Chinese Medicine is responsible for the flowing movement of energy and emotions. When we get angry or repress our emotions they can become “stuck” and the natural flow is disrupted.

Signs of a disharmony in your Liver system:

Brittle fingernails
Blurred vision or dry eyes
Tendon problems.
Migraine headaches (especially on either side).
Indigestion and bloating.
Excess weight.
Menstrual/PMS/menopausal problems.
Bad breath.
Arthritis

Here are some tips to living in harmony with spring:

Go to rest at night and get up early.
Take leisurely walks in nature.(especially in the morning)
Avoid drinking a lot of alcohol
Eat Liver foods for healing.

A special congratulations to Holly Lev, of Hillside NJ, the winner of the Phoenix Acupuncture Grand Opening prize. Holly won a healing package including a comprehensive TCM consultation with Jason Neff and the Dragon’s Way self-healing program.

And the winner of our virtual guest raffle… congratulations to Alisa Deitz, of EFFECT Coaching and Consulting. Alisa won a healing CD with Nan Lu, OMD “Garden of Infinite Possibilities: A Guided Energy Meditation”.

After searching for what seems like forever we finally found a new home right next door to MGM electric. The new office is spacious and beautiful. It is still in it’s infancy stages but with each day develops more and more. We are looking forward to spending many years treating patients in the new space.

If you haven’t been to the new space stop by and take a tour. We are located at 468 Irvington Ave, South Orange NJ.
