I pulled from all that harbored anger we all have and lock away in a vault and keep it there locked so we can function.

– Vin Diesel

Felt sort of lazy today so I just pulled the first shot I could find in the archives and touched it up a bit. I guess life is just a sequence of lock and unlock decisions…. to lash out or stay calm, to speak your mind or keep shut, to hold on or let go etc etc…. This was basically a fancy door locking mechanism i photographed in a car.

I need some fresh shots to liven myself up because I feel like editing SOMETHING so either today or tomorrow I’m gonna go get a few shots from South Kensington and Victoria, which being tourist-y places are always rather pretty to walk around in.

And finally, the most important news of all – I’m shifting to a new shutterchance blog. I haven’t given the address because there’s nothing to see there yet, but come Monday and my first shot will be up.

Reasons- Always disliked this interface since it wasn’t channelled towards photography and also, shutterchance blogs need absolutely zero maintenance which is pretty cool. I’ve been contemplating the move for a while and ever since Blain (of Stardog Photos) shifted I’ve been pretty sure I was going to do the same.

Have a great weekend everyone!!! (I can’t, far too much study work I’ve been neglecting )

This is a shot taken in Scotland’s Glen affric which is supposed to be the prettiest of all the glens in Scotland. Anyway, enough about the beauty of the scene, what do you think of the shot?

Ah, finally. A proper shot from Scotland. Sadly I forget the name of the ruins but I remember it to be a very bright and sunny day which I’ve converted to give a dark and decayed impression using this tip I found yesterday. I don’t know where the grain effect came from because I didn’t add it but I like it. As for the lyrics I guess that’s what ruins are to me… something that’s been destroyed by man or time to make way for something new. Anyway tell me what you guys think, especially with regards to the processing. Thanks a lot for stopping by!!!

Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch’intrate
(Abandon all hope, ye who enter here)

– “The Divine Comedy” by Dante

Firstly, the shot. Absolutely love fire, completely a pyromaniac. Call me a cracked up teen if you will but isn’t there something so brilliantly mysterious, beautiful and powerful about it. It’s pure energy. And then there’s the finality of it all because at the end fire is the ultimate destroyer and that’s why I love the quote so much. It’s the line with which the Gate of Hell is inscribed according to Dante.

Secondly, Scotland!!! Had a great time and got some pretty stunning shots on the days when the weather was great but I’m not posting them yet because I’m far too lazy to edit them but I should post at least one this week. This one was taken in the hotel but very little processing was required.

And finally, for all those who didn’t visit yesterday (Shame on you!….nah, just kidding ;-)) please check out the shot and give me feedback on that as well. Also, I was considering putting this shot into my Top Shots category but I need you guys to give me the go-ahead.

Photo Editing: Nothing in Picasa (smile Suby! :-)). Levels and Colour Balance in Photoshop.

When you call my name its like a little prayer
I’m down on my knees, I wanna take you there
In the midnight hour I can feel your power
Just like a prayer you know Ill take you there

– “Like a Prayer” by Madonna

Yes, I’m back from Scotland….but more of that tomorrow. Even though I’m not Christian and not particularly religious I love churches and the peaceful atmosphere they create. Here’s the conundrum , though. You’ve obviously seen that there are two different versions of the same shot. That is because:

I think that churches look best in B/W so that explains the first shot.

I like the earthy tones that one gets by using the Fresco Filter, so that explains the second shot.

So the objective, my esteemed critics is this – Pick your favourite and give me your views on it.

Photo Editing: Shadows in Picasa. Levels, Fresco FIlter and Desturate(for first one) in Photoshop.

That’s right…I’m off to Scotland. This will sadly mean no posts till next Monday (21st August – Put it as a reminder!) and I will also not be able to visit your photoblogs :(. I was thinking of automating posts but I decided against it because I wouldn’t be able to pay enough attention to your comments and suggestions. BUT I can guarantee a response to each comment made on this post thanks to web access on my cellphone. I decided to add some variety (to this post at least)….Which one in your opinion is a better holiday pic?

Also, don’t forget to bookmark me on Photoblogs.org

And finally, I’ve received far more than 100 comments so thank you everyone!!!

This is one of the shots I took in China, even though it has absolutely nothing to do with China. I’ve always loved the intricacies of spider webs and I was quite lucky to catch this one.

It is only in sorrow bad weather masters us; in joy we face the storm and defy it.
–Amelia Barr

I took this shot in Exmoor on an extremely windy day. I’ve always felt it to be very dark and morbid and I’m kind of fascinated by the grim atmosphere it produces. I didn’t think much of it at the time but after I submitted it to WeeklyShot I got some very good feedback so I decided to post it here. Even though it is a rather gloomy sight I sort of get inspired by that quote up there. As always, I’m eagerly waiting for your views.

On a much lighter note, Photoshooter Sam has climbed to No.9 in the Hot Photoblogs of Photoblogs.org. If you guys want to continue seeing it in the top 10 please click on the ‘Listed‘ button in the sidebar and bookmark me. After that, if you have any inclination to do so, please also feel free to click on the ‘Cool Photoblogs‘ button in the sidebar and rate me on CoolPhotoblogs.com. Thank you for stopping by and have a great day everyone!
