HP just announced the HP Z1 Workstation, a powerful all-in-one PC workstation designed to be upgraded.The HP Z1 is a 27″ LED-backlit all-in-one style workstation, a la iMac, but without the locked down internals. You can easily open and upgrade all of the major components without voiding your ~~AppleCare~~ warranty.

Photoshop World is now offering One Day tickets. If you don’t have half a week to devote to the conference, you can just choose one (or two) days to go. The price is $349 for each day ($299 if you’re a NAPP member). You can always visit the Expo Hall for free if you don’t like spending money and happen to be in the area.

Photoshop Turns 20, Birthday Party in San Francisco

Adobe Photoshop turns 20 years old today. Not quite the U.S. legal drinking age, but the party should still be good fun. If you didn’t get an e-vite to the party (which you probably didn’t), you can still attend virtually by watching the live streaming webcast of the event. The fine folks at NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) are putting on the show, so a lot of their top talent, including Scott Kelby, Matt Kloskowski, Dave Cross and Corey barker, will be there. There will also be a few Adobe celebrities including Russell Brown, Johnny Loiacono and more. The festivities begin at 7:30PM PST. Don’t worry if it’s too late for you Right-Coasters, the video will available for download shortly after the live stream ends.

Adobe Releases Photoshop Lightroom 3 Beta to the Public

Adobe has released their latest public beta of their popular photography management software, Photoshop Lightroom 3.

Here are some of the new features:

Brand new performance architecture, building for the future of growing image libraries
State-of-the-art noise reduction to help you perfect your high ISO shots
Watermarking tool that helps you customize and protect your images with ease
Portable sharable slideshows with audio—designed to give you more flexibility and impact on how you choose to share your images, you can now save and export your slideshows as videos and include audio

Film grain simulation tool for enhancing your images to look as gritty as you want
New import handling designed to make importing streamlined and easy

Not really Photoshop related, but since I’m a web developer by trade, this is very very funny. According to Wikipedia

Auto-Tune is a proprietary audio processor created by Antares Audio Technologies that uses a phase vocoder to correct pitch in vocal and instrumental performances. It is used to disguise inaccuracies and mistakes, and has allowed many artists to produce more precisely tuned recordings.

You’ll probably recognize from popular pop songs.
