This 73 year old white male presented with painful varicose veins, skin discoloration and swelling. He underwent laser ablation of incompetent saphenous veins and perforator veins to relive his underlying venous incompetence. Microphlebectomy was employed to remove a large prominent secondary vein branch below his knee. The patient was comfortable during these office procedures with the use of local anesthesia.
