Roby loved to play in alternate tunings. He experimented in DADGAD then moved to DADEAD.

There is nothing more enjoyable or satisfying than playing the guitar. However, the ability to play doesn’t come without some effort and dedication. Very few of us can pick up a guitar and start playing like our favorite stars without years of practice.

Discouragement and frustration put an end to the efforts of many enthusiasts. Don’t let this happen. You can learn to play and you can continually improve regardless of how old you are or how naturally skilled you are. It just takes practice.

The problem with practicing is that most new players don’t know what to practice or how to practice. That’s where Pickstroke comes in. We will do our best to provide you with easy to understand lessons that will help you advance from beginner to intermediate to an advanced player. All you need to do is commit yourself to practice and to perfecting each level of instruction.

Take things one step at a time and learn to enjoy what you’re learning. Don’t get discouraged and you will eventually learn to play with confidence and skill.

Welcome to Pickstroke.org. This site is dedicated to Guitar Lessons and that is all. We will not concentrate on tab or video but lessons that will help you become a better player.
I plan to organize these lessons into three categories: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Hopefully, there will be something here for everyone.
I also plan on having guest writers discussing different styles of playing and practicing.
All video and tabs placed on this site will be of an instructional nature.
I hope you will bookmark both Pickstroke sites and visit regularly.
Remember that playing is a lot like the rest of life. It’s all about the Ups and Downs!
