Brian Rea is leaving the NY Times to move to Los Angeles. I've always enjoyed working for him, but I was especially flattered that he chose me for his last assignment. Back in 2003, Zeitgeist Gallery in Nashville mounted a show of works by Picture Mechanics members. I've continued to show there, as has Tim Hussey. We both have works in a show, Works on Paper, that opens August 2, 2008 and continues through September 20th. There'll be an opening party Saturday night from 7 until 10. I was invited to create an image for The New Graphic Magazine based in China. Works from around the world focus on China's massive earthquake. It aims at collecting visual works to encourage people in the affected areas, advocate humanitarian spirit, and make more people at home and abroad pay attention to relief efforts.

All works involved will be published in the August issue of New Graphic magazine accompanied by an exhibition, raising funds, going to the affected areas.
