PCC receives $500,000 from NC Golden LEAF Foundation

As one of two community colleges to receive the GLOW grant, and the only grantee that received the maximum amount awarded by Golden LEAF Foundation, PCC can help address the urgent workforce issues facing NC through short-term training, national credentials, guaranteed interviews, and paid work experience. PCC offers Digital Content and Instruction online training for Educators

Adler appointed to PCC Board

The Person County Board of Commissioners appointed Joel B. Adler to the Piedmont Community College Board of Trustees. Adler spent over 30 years working at a community college in Virginia, and will begin his trustee duties at PCC in October 2020.

Duke Energy continues support of PCC’s welding program with $20,000 grant to fund simulators

PCC's goal is to increase the number of students with welding certifications. The simulator equipment is effective for use with beginner and intermediate welding students and allows students to practice multiple welds without burning through consumable supplies. The equipment is highly suggested by welding instructors due to its cost effectiveness; students can practice welds multiple times and make mistakes until they can correctly bead the weld because they are not consuming costly supplies.

Miller, PCC Dean, earns Doctor of Education degree

Don Miller joined the PCC Team in 2019 as Dean of the College’s Learning Commons. He was pursuing his doctorate degree at the time and recently defended his dissertation, earning his Doctor of Education in Higher Education Executive Leadership (Ed.D.) from Wingate University.

Morgan named to PCC Board

The Person County Board of Education recently named lifelong resident of Roxboro and Person County Robert “Bob” Morgan as a member of the Piedmont Community College Board of Trustees. Morgan’s four-year term began in July 2020. PCC experiencing cyber-incident

Piedmont Community College has experienced a cyber-incident which was discovered on Monday, August 24 mid-day. The College has reached out to the North Carolina Community College System Cyber Incident Response Team. This team will be onsite Tuesday, August 25 to assist with a complete assessment of PCC’s systems. An updated is expected by late Tuesday afternoon.
